The drainage channel beside the factory next to my home. Every kind of industrial run-off pours in here, gathers, and carries on down toward the river. And right along its banks the leaves crowd in, leaning out over the churning white water, layer upon layer. Hardly pristine ground — and still the green comes in thick and vigorous, completely unbothered.
