This is not a link party per se.  As in, I will not conduct this via link posting for a particular day of the week.  This is going to be an ongoing, always up for viewing, easily accessible catalog of projects done by anyone, anywhere, for anything.  

The Rules are simple:

1. This must be a post from your blog (I will have a separate section on my blog where I showcase your versions of my projects or the projects in the Project Library, but that is not what THIS is for, that will be different).  If you don't have a blog, but have a fabulous tutorial project, send me an email and we can get it figured out.

2. It must be a tutorial type of post with instructions on how to reproduce this idea.

3. It must be your own.

4. This can be a post/project that you have done either recently or in the past, makes no difference as long as it is a post you have done in tutorial format.

5. You can submit as many projects as you like, the more the merrier since this is a catalog of ideas.

How you participate:

1. You submit your projects to me via EMAIL: rayanturner@gmail.com

2.  The subject of your EMAIL should be: PROJECT LIBRARY

3.  Include in your email a LINK to your projects POST (not to your main blog, but the specific post for the specific project).

4. Also include a short description of your project and how you would like it to be categorized (for example: craft, Easter, furniture, rehab, home accessory, gift, etc.). 

5.  Place the PROJECT: LIBRARY button in your sidebar (you may also place it on your specific post, but since this is a blog cooperative sort of undertaking I would love for you to wear your button proudly).  Upon receipt of your project, I will send you a reply with the HTML code for the button.  This will also let you know that I have received your project submission.

6.  View or recommend PROJECT: LIBRARY to your friends and family often, for increased traffic to your posts, projects, and ultimately your site.  This is a great way to get exposure in the land of DIY and crafty stuff.  The FD Blog now receives between 1000 and 1500 page views a day and this number is constantly rising, this is sure to send some of that traffic your way!  Free Advertising...

7.  Follow along with the FD Blog on Google Friend Connect or my RSS Feed for the most up to date inclusions in PROJECT: LIBRARY.  Every Friday I will host a Feature Friday post and share a few of the projects submitted, check in frequently to see if I chose yours.

Here is what I decided to do: 

1. Used the remaining 4 plastic container pots that came in the set of 5 I purchased from the dollar store.  They are just basic plastic pot containers.

2. Gave them several coats of Kilz White tinted Primer, this gives them a chalky look and makes them appear to be ceramic even though they aren't. Painted it 1/3 of the way down the inside as well.

3. Found fonts I felt were fitting to each word and herb.  For the templates see this: Spice Jar Label Templates or use fonts that you like.

4. Used a hole poking method to stencil the words onto the pots.  For the tutorial see this: Hole Poke Stenciling.

5. Filled in the dots with black acrylic craft paint.

Now I am anxiously awaiting my seeds from The Dinner Garden in hopes that they might have sent me a few of these particular herbs I tend to cook with a lot.  If not, its off to Lowe's to purchase seed packages, and a little garden I will grow!

Using a needle, straight pin, safety pin or the like, begin poking holes around the outline of your shape.  Make sure you cover every aspect of your shape, because you will be left with a one sided figure if you forget to do the inside of the letter C for example...

I used this technique for my Spice Jar Label Herb Garden Project because of the delicacy of some of the letters.

You can see from this image where I have poked my needle around the edge of the letters in Basil.  

Once you have poked around the entire shape or word, simply tape it to your surface  and use a stippling method of applying your paint.  You can also use something like a marker and run it along the line of holes if you aren't using paint.

Remove your paper carefully so as not to smear the paint, but remove it quickly so that your paint doesn't bleed under the edge of the paper too much.

You will be left with a series of small dots to guide you when you fill in with paint.

Don't worry about whether or not these images are pixelated, because believe me they are!  You are just looking for a general outline to hole poke stencil!
