Guest post by: Liz.

There are plenty of online deals you can take advantage of and it would be better if you can share it with your friends. Here are some websites that allow you to find good deals and share them easily.

1. Jet Radar

Jet Radar is a cheap airfare meta search engine that crawls through 35 agency and 728 airline sites to find the best deal possible. You see, airlines don’t like customers using price comparison services, so they now make truly cheapest deals available only through their own websites and sometimes through exclusive partners who agree to promote the airline in return. So when you go to Expedia or Cheap Air, you might be missing the cheapest fare, unless you are willing to go to different airline sites and cross check the prices. With Jet Radar you can do this easily with one site.

2. Bitrix 24

If you want to stay connected with your friends and colleagues, Bitrix 24 can do that for you in a more professional way. It has some features the same as Facebook only that it has been created for business. You can use it for free if you have 12 members or less on your created social intranet. This website will allow organized streaming of messages, discussions and ideas. Even if you and your friends are planning about your next business strategies, you can keep it within the group instead of broadcasting your conversation over an unsecured social network.

3. Picky Domains

It is always better to ask for suggestions if you are running out of ideas. Now, if you are having a hard time thinking about the best domain name or the slogan you want to use for your business or group, Picky Domains can come to the rescue! It is a risk-free naming service that you and your friends can take advantage of. Aside from being a client here, another opportunity that you can take advantage of is earning online. You can become a member and be the one who is providing name suggestions for others. This way, you can earn a portion of the order value, usually 40-60%!

4. Survey Savvy

Survey Savvy is a free, safe and easy to use online platform to provide customer feedback and earn extra income online. This website pays for consumers’ opinions. It is one of the leading behavioral research companies and provides mutual benefits to members and clients. There is also an innovative referral program available which means you can refer your friends and get incentives when your direct referrals complete surveys. Each time to you complete a survey, you also get an incentive and even your indirect referrals can help you earn. As a member of SurveySavvy, you will also be eligible to join exclusive sweepstakes and contests.

5. Retail Me Not
Most people prefer shopping online and it would definitely better if you can save from while shopping. RetailMeNot is ideal for online shoppers who would like to take advantage of discounts and promotions. It is a social network and coupon sharing website in one. So the next time that you have to shop online, tell your friends about it and all of you can enjoy great savings. Sharing the latest deals to your friends can also mean that you can go out together, shop, dine and pamper without spending much.

6. Polyvore

If you are into fashion and designing, then Polyvore is for you. You can use it to create template that can be used by others especially your friends. They can do the same and you can enjoy the give and take relationship within this friendly community. Your creations can be shared through blogs, social networks and Twitter. This way, more people can enjoy your sets. Some designs can also be inspiring. It is fun to mix and match fashionable items especially if you have friends to support you and have the same interest as you.

There are plenty of distractions on the road that require us to stay alert and vigilant at all times. The slightest commotion or disturbance can turn an everyday joy ride into a dangerous accident prone adventure.

However there are things you can do to make sure your eyes and ears are at their highest levels of alertness. With the wonder of technology there are tools and apps at our disposal which facilitate improved performance for us as drivers. Below we highlight three cell phone apps for drowsy-free driving today and beyond.

1. Extral -

Here’s a cool app called Extral that alerts you to red lights as you approach them on the road. As you’re driving and coming closer to one, a voice from the app announces out loud “RED RED RED” and also you get small flashing signals on your phone screen. Your phone has to be on and the app playing for this to work and also the app is based off of your phones GPS, so you need to have a GPS on your phone for this to work. The app is FREE and available now via your phone or online via Google Play. (see the video demo below from the app developer)

2. Drivia -

This is a pretty cool app who’s sole aim is to keep you awake at the wheel via various quizzes and games that are voice based, meaning you need NOT ke your eyes off the road. It’s all voice activated and when you start to nod off and don’t answer the questions, loud bells and whistles kick in to wake you up and force you to keep playing. The Drivia app is FREE and available for the iPhone.

3. Anti Sleep Pilot -

Here’s another cool cell phone app that aims to keep drivers safe and awake while on the road. Anti Sleep Pilot is also voice activated and the way the app works is by asking you a series of questions and giving you a series of tasks for you to complete while driving. It also records many functions such as your response time, your fatigue levels, distance traveled and more – the app is available via iTunes.

Next time you have a long trip and need to stay awake try one of these three cell phone apps and let us know how they fare for you.

Have you tried any of these? How were they, did they work or were they not enough to keep you awake at the wheel. Let us know in the comment area below.

There are things you shouldn’t give up even when faced with tough economic times, and a vacation is one of them. This is because you actually need it more during times of great stress. A quick weekend getaway will recharge your batteries, stave off burnout, and give you a chance to regroup.

Yes, a week out in Fiji or the Bahamas is probably out of the picture when your budget is limited, but there are still tons of ways you and your family can have fun. Read on as we provide you with wallet-friendly tips that you can put to work on your next weekend getaway.

Explore and save. Try to stay away from the usual tourist spots and explore on your own. Most tours are high on cost while low on activity and fun. The only reason to join a tour is to avoid getting lost and possibly ending up in a bad part of town. In these times of GPS navigation and mobile Internet, your chances of getting horribly lost are slim. So don’t be afraid to go the scenic route and experience the food and activities previously reserved for locals and people in the know. This is what’s great with the newfound abundance of firsthand information now available online. Check out food blogs and consult forums for great hole-in-the-wall eateries and family restaurants. Even sceneries and activities are easy to research and experience on your own. With modern navigation and communication tools, you now have little excuse not to wander off the beaten path and really have a great time.

Pack more than clothes on a road trip. A road trip is perfect as far as weekend getaways are concerned. It’s fun for the whole family, takes little preparation compared to other activities, and can be quite cheap if you know what you are doing. First of all, you have to practice restraint. Resist the urge to buy every trinket and souvenir. Also, you can save a lot when you don’t buy snacks and refreshments whenever you stop for gas or take bathroom breaks. Pack juice boxes and snacks by the box to save on cost. Pack a cooler and fill it with everything you need. You can buy your supplies in bulk at discount clubs to make the most out of every dollar. The reason behind this is that snacks are the same whether you buy them close to home or out on the road, so save a few dollars. You’re better off spending what you save on entertainment or eating real food.

Know when to use paper or plastic. And no, I’m not talking about grocery bags. There is a time and place for cash and credit card purchases. When driving your own car, you can rack up quite a lot of points on most credit cards if you plan your route around places that accept them. This tactic is great for the added safety and convenience if you will mostly stay within larger cities. For remote places, it’s best to have cash stashed away for emergencies and small purchases. It’s often the case that smaller stores don’t have credit card terminals. It’s also good to withdraw a little more than what you think you will need. There’s nothing more frustrating than wasting half a day looking for an ATM in an unfamiliar place and then getting hit with insane service charges because you’re forced to use another bank’s machine.

Use free miles. It takes a lot of preparation and patience, but you can travel for free. There are a lot of travel miles credit cards out there that allow you to accumulate airline miles every time you swipe your card. Charging a year’s worth of groceries and utility bills ought to rack up some significant mileage. You can then opt to use the free miles when you go on vacation. You instantly save on your fare, leaving a bigger budget for lodging, food, entertainment, and other expenses. When you approach vacations this way, you’ll realize that they are not that expensive for the wise consumer.

The principle behind every tip above is actually simple: you don’t have to spend much to have a great time. Instead of souvenirs, take pictures and make memories. Instead of taking packaged tours, explore on your own. And the most important takeaway lesson of all is to have quality time with your loved ones. Whether a quick weekend or a full-fledged overseas vacation, you can still have fun while staying within budget.

Are you a kid looking to make a few bucks here and there? Or maybe a parent with a teen who is looking for a job? If so below we have a few good ideas for you to ruminate over.

These are all jobs anyone with determination, a bit of skill and lots of energy – can do. Look them over and let us know which job ideas we missed? Tell me in the comment area.

1. Jewelry Selling -

Kids can be creative creatures by nature and as such, make great artists. If you’re child has a creative flair, he or she can make jewelry on the side, to sell. Where would they sell it? They can sell their jewelry creations at various places, such as locally – online – or simply to family and friends via their social networks. (i.e. Facebook)

Money $$$ – Depending on how they sell it, whether a flat rate per piece, in bulk or sets – the skies the limit. Priced right, they could easily make a few hundred dollars per month.

2. Fixing Stuff -

This is another HUGE opportunity for kids to earn money, as adults many times do not have the time or energy to fix a broken gadget, piece of tech or other household item. Maybe your kid is a whiz at removing and cleaning virus filled laptops, or they can set up your entire household audio and stereo equipment at the blink of an eye – if that’s the case, they can help others with the same issue. Create a flyer and or simply have them mention it on their Facebook pages that they offer this service.

Money $$$ – They can charge by the project or by the hour, can make anywhere from a few hundred per month.

3. Yard Work -

This is a great idea for the kids that love to move around or those that have excess energy. Use the ADD to get them to earn some money. Most neighborhoods have senior adults that can’t mow their own lawns or simply need help with the chore and would gladly pay a local kid to aid in the job. How to get the word out? You can place a flyer in the church bulletin board or better yet – the church website. Let everyone know that your kid is looking for odd jobs and wants to make some money this Summer.

Money $$$ – $10 per hour, $25 per lawn, etc.

4. Website Design -

For the web savvy kids in the house, this is the perfect job for them. There are still lots of people who do not know how to create a website or blog and need the services of others to get it done. You would need to have your kid set up a website for themselves to advertise the service and also to showcase an example of their work. You can’t offer the service of web design and not have a website yourself, so first thing they have to do is create their own website. Make it awesome and make it smart. Meaning it has to have at a minimum – a good design, an About page, a Contact page and a Services page. Then create a Facebook page for it as well and just start getting the word out. Best bet is to niche and go after a certain group of people, whether it’s accountants, hair dressers, plumbers, etc. Go after a certain demographic and it will be easier to market to.

Money $$$ – A good 4 page website could easily go for $99 or more. You can always add upsells to increase the price, such as the creation of a Facebook page for an additional $45 and so on.

5. Writing -

You might not know this but there are quite a few kids earning money writing on the web. Either on their own sites or those of others. If your kid can write or has an affinity for writing, he or she – should hit the web and look for a web-based writing job. Where should they go to look for such a job? I recommend the Problogger Job Board from Darren Rowse, as most established and well known blog owners post here when looking for help. This is your best bet for a good writing job. Look at the requirements and see if you’re a good fit, then simply apply.

Money$$$ – Anywhere from $10 to $30 a post or more.

6. Errand Runner/Pet Sitting -

This is an old classic that still works for earning money on the side. Find out who in your local area has a dog or cat that needs some TLC because the owner is at work all day and can’t do it. Or maybe an older individual who can’t get out and walk his dog like he once did. These are all prime opportunities to help someone and make a few bucks in the process.

Money $$$ – $15 per hour, with a 2 hour minimum.

The ideas are endless, we can go on and on. Hope the six profiled above will get you excited about earning some money and or having your kid earn some money with his or her own job.

QUESTION:

What jobs did you have as a kid? And how did you get customers? Share below.

Cheers,
Missy

It’s that time of the year again when you shower your Mom with gifts and show her just how much she means to you. However with the economy still at a bit of a lull, you might not have the grand budget to spend as you would prefer.

No need to fear as there are lots of good options for Mom that are North of $100 and still pack a wallop in the fun, appealing and or entertaining department. See below three such ideas that your Mom might love and appreciate that won’t leave you reaching for the nearest piggy bank.

3 Good Ways To Pamper Mom Under $100

1. Soothing Spa Massage

What mom doesn’t need a break from the everyday hustle and bustle of taking care of everyone else but herself. One way to pamper your mom this Mother’s Day could take the form of a soothing Spa massage from a nearby boutique. You can even add (in most cases) an accompanying manicure and still keep the total bill under $100. Look around your town for a local masseuse that takes in new patients and shower your mom with the gentle gift of touch.

2. Tickets To Local Ballgame

If your mom is anything like my mom, she loves the local ball team in your city and what better gift than a pair of tickets to an upcoming game. My hometown city is Chicago which makes my mom a Chicago Cubs fan through and through, she loves her Cubbies. If your mom is also a big fan, then treat her accordingly. As for cost? A pair of tickets to decent seating at the local stadium should net just under $100 if you don’t opt for the fancy pants box seats. Go Cubs!

3. Homemade Meal And Dessert

This is an oldie but a goodie and works like charm every time. It’s sort of like Christmas or Thanksgiving where you do all the work – cooking, cleaning and prep – and she gets to simply enjoy it all. This is especially nice if your mom still has young children at home to look after and a much needed break from the kitchen is in order. You could make her favorite meal or cook something entirely new and hope she likes it, or you could have it catered. We kid, do not have it catered – this is suppose to be your DIY treat for mom.

Think outside the box and create a memorable event for mom this Mother’s Day. Hope our three tips above have inspired an idea or three and if so, do come back here and please share.

Have you heard of Klip 2 Save? They’re a new coupon clipping service on the web that makes coupon clipping easy. Finally.

The problem I have always had with other coupon clip services is that I couldn’t cherry pick only the coupons I wanted and or had to buy in bulk. With Klip 2 Save you can buy only the coupons you need, and there’s no requirement to buy in bulk or coupons you know you will not be using.

Visit Klip2save

They have a very simple set up, you pick the coupons you want, pay for them and they mail them to you straight away. However another bonus is that they have the Sunday insert coupons on their website as early as Wednesday and ship them asap.

Visit Klip2save

I don’t happen to be a big coupon clipper because it has never been super convenient for me, but am definitely going to give Klip 2 Save a try.

What do you think? Are you going to give Klip 2 Save a try and see if finally someone has made coupon clipping painless.

Calling all first time car buyers (and those with little experience) to feast your dainty little eyes on this cracking used car buyers guide infographic that pieces together the simple steps you need to follow when starting that hunt for your next used car.

This infographic could end up saving you $$$ as it provides simple but inexpensive tips so not to get caught out buying a banger. By just completing a car data check (there are many companies on the web that provide these) it could save you from buying a car with a shady previous history. The last thing you want to be doing is handing over your hard earned cash only to find out that the car of your creams turns out to be your worst nightmare.

A car check uncovers outstanding finance, stolen vehicles and those that have been in major accidents in the past.

The digestible infographic also informs us buyers to make sure we check the simple things such as the tires, brakes and service history. Also we get an education into how important the cars documents actually are such as the service history that proves the car has been well maintained over its lifetime – this actually makes the car more valuable so don’t be signing any documentation before you’ve seen the goods and looked at the documents in full.

Enough of the babbling now – Enjoy the visual date.

This simple but informative infographic has been researched and designed by the teams at Car Finance 247, the UK’s leading car loans brokerage and Netcars.com, the UK’s fastest growing used car classified website.
