Lionsgate has just debuted the first short teaser trailer for the upcoming Saw V. Not everyone loves the Saw series, but there are still quite a few adamant fans that keep it alive (pun intended). This trailer doesn't show anything at all besides one very freaky trap - but that should be enough to get fans excited again. I love that they keep the story and the twists completely secret up to the very last minute - I think it adds another level to the films that other horror movies don't often reach. The series continues to be incredibly successful every Halloween and it seems like a lot of people loved Saw IV, so maybe this one will remain just as successful. What are your first impressions after watching this trailer?

Right smack in the middle of Comic-Con, Summit has decided to release the first trailer for Rian Johnson's second film - The Brothers Bloom. If you're not familiar with Rian Johnson, he's the guy who brought us the fantastic indie movie Brick a few years back. I'm not even sure what's going on in this, but this looks pretty wacky. Maybe that's a good thing? Johnson's Brick was "wacky" in a mainstream sense so maybe this trailer just wasn't capturing all of the finer points. Either way, I really hope this turns out great since I loved Brick and love the cast: Adrien Brody, Mark Ruffalo, Rachel Weisz, and Rinko Kikuchi. And if you're not at Comic-Con and can decipher this trailer, please make sure to let us know. Otherwise, fire it up below and tell us if you think this will be even remotely as good as Brick or ...

Just say yes... A few days ago we brought you the first official poster for Jim Carrey's next comedy, Yes Man. As Alex rightly pointed out, it smacks of Liar Liar in an oh-so-obvious way - instead of having to tell the truth all the time, Carrey plays a guy that always says yes. Same difference. Today comes the first trailer for the film, and I can't say I'm too excited. While Liar Liar holds an enviable 79% on Rotten Tomatoes, I don't think we can expect the same from Yes Man. As you'll see in the clip, the prospect of saying yes to anything can create some interesting scenarios. But if the trailer is any indication, the film looks like a bunch of discrete, wishfully funny sequences that probably adds up short in the end.

Just say yes… A few days ago we brought you the first official poster for Jim Carrey's next comedy, Yes Man.

What Yes Man does seem to have going for it is the supporting cast, most notably Terrence Stamp. This guy is everywhere nowadays, recently appearing in Get Smart and Wanted. Carrey "kneels before Zod", who appears to be the leader of a self-help group, wherein the say-yes malady comes into play. All told, Yes Man looks like an expected Carrey vehicle. He'll have his funny moments, facial ticks and quirky sequences, but it's doubtful the film will carry as much energy as the poster implies. Are you at all excited?

We posted a couple of TV spots for Pineapple Express a few weeks ago, but we haven't seen a complete new trailer like this since March! Now we've got our hands on a new international trailer with a few new scenes but enough to remind you that you'll want to clear your schedule in a few weeks so that you can catch this awesome new comedy. Between this and and Tropic Thunder, the two big comedies this summer, I'm leaning towards Pineapple Express. It's something with Judd Apatow's touch and the fact that Rogen and Franco look like the amazingly perfect duo of stoner friends. Like Superbad last year, I really can't wait to see how the story unfolds and how crazy it all becomes. Hopefully it lives up to all of my expectations!

No further explanation needed. The stoner revival begins this summer on August 8th. Universal has debuted the full trailer for Flash of Genius, a drama about college professor and inventor Robert Kearns whose invention of intermittent windshield wiper was stolen by the automobile manufacturers in the 1960s. Comparisons can be made to movies full of hope and ambition like Will Smith's Pursuit of Happyness, and Flash of Genius looks like it could be just as good. There are always a lot of great stories about successful and proud individuals in history that go unnoticed. This is one of them. Last year I saw the highly underrated movie The Flying Scotsman, a fantastic film about a determined cyclist. Flash of Genius looks like another wonderful story about a man who just couldn't let them get away with stealing his invention. And damnit, I love seeing these kinds of heartwarming films.

There have been an excessive number of trailers that debuted this week, most of which were great. This is not one of the better ones. The first domestic trailer for the Simon Pegg, Kirsten Dunst, Megan Fox, and Jeff Bridges comedy How to Lose Friends & Alienate People has finally debuted online. Not only is that the most ridiculous title, but this looks pretty damn stupid. Physical comedy and sight gags are a thing of the past (in my opinion) and this looks like a comedy stuck back in the 90's. In the movie, British journalist Sidney Young is hired by Sharps magazine and is thrust into the glamorous world of celebrities without being entirely ready. The only good thing in this is the appearance of the voluptuous Megan Fox, but besides that, it looks pretty bad. I really just can't see this being any good.

The first trailer for Hayao Miyazaki's latest film, Ponyo on the Cliff, has been discovered online and can be seen below. I have an immense appreciation for Hayao Miyazaki's animation and will always support all of his films. Ponyo on the Cliff is a more light-hearted film, similar to My Neighbor Totoro or Kiki's Delivery Service, but still looks quite amusing. I know for certain that even animators who work at Pixar are still inspired by Miyazaki's work. He continues to impress and dazzle in the 2D animation world and Ponyo on the Cliff looks just as vivid as all of his previous films. The trailer is completely in Japanese, so although it's hard to get a grasp on the story, the visuals are certainly still mesmerizing to watch.

Finally, "shirtless" Matthew McConaughey in a role that he was born to play! Surfer Dude is a laid back comedy about a surfer named Steve Addington who returns to his home in Malibu to find that virtual reality surfing is the new "in" thing when there are no waves. Don't think too much about that story, because I think the best way to enjoy this movie would be laid back and stoned out of your mind (note: we don't necessarily condone smoking of any type). Both Willie Nelson and Woody Harrelson also have roles in this as well. To be honest, I think this looks mildly entertaining, which is all I would really be looking for in a movie about a surfer anyway. Give it a shot and check it out for yourself.

If you're headed out (or just coming back from) The Dark Knight this weekend, this is not going to impress you in the slightest. But there are Stephenie Meyer fans out there and there are those of you who are looking forward to seeing Twilight this December. Summit Entertainment has debuted the second full trailer and it's a slight step up from that teaser we saw a while back. I still think this movie looks rather freaky, but has so much sappy romance in it, that I don't think being creeped out is what I'm worried about. Either way, I can't lie and say that I'm looking forward to it, because the more I see now, the less I want to see later. If you're interested, here's the second trailer for Twilight, otherwise - skip it!

It's finally here! On the eve of the debut of The Dark Knight, the first official full length trailer for Watchmen has arrived. The first time I watched this trailer, it took my breath away. Years of anticipation, set visits, and so much more has finally led to this debut of the very first real footage - and it does NOT let down. This trailer is as incredible as seeing The Dark Knight, which is a phenomenal feat in its own, so either way you look at it - you're in for a truly extraordinary experience tonight. This definitely proves that Zack Snyder knows what he is doing and that this could potentially live up to the graphic novel. It has a hint of 300 in it, but I think that plays into the story and the action and that's a part of Zack Snyder's unique style. Definitely check this ...

The first international trailer for Ridley Scott's next feature film, Body of Lies, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Russell Crowe, has just debuted. Body of Lies is yet another Middle Eastern drama, this time about a former journalist who is hired by the CIA to track down an Al Qaeda leader in Jordan. Thanks in part to the brilliant mind of Ridley Scott, this looks like a step above all the typical Middle Eastern movies we're seeing nowadays. The one thing I noticed the most - Scott has done a great job of making both DiCaprio and Crowe look like I've never seen them before! Scott's Black Hawk Down was a fantastic modern war movie and now I'm wondering whether his follow-up to American Gangster will be any good or if he's still stuck in a mediocre slump. Thoughts on Body of Lies?

This wasn't supposed to be online this early, but here it is anyway, the first teaser trailer for the (soon to be) highly anticipated Terminator Salvation. Christian Bale stars as John Connor, Bryce Dallas Howard as Kate Connor, and Anton Yelchin as Kyle Reese. After seeing this, I'm finally able to tell you that officially this does not look that impressive... at all. In comparison to the Watchmen trailer, it's like night and day (this one being the ugly one). Although this is a teaser and barely shows any footage, I'm still not that excited. However, I think we just need to see more. There are a few scenes that make me feel like it could be great, plus I don't think anyone can go wrong with Christian Bale! There hasn't been any new footage since way back in February when the red band trailer for Pineapple Express first debuted. Now we're a week away from Comic-Con and a few more weeks away from the theatrical release - it's about time we started the buzz again on this comedy! I think James Franco is going to become the new classic stoner character and I can't wait to see him take over Dave Chappelle's spot! And as for Seth Rogen, I'm always up for laughing at his antics in a summer flick - especially one about smokin' weed. If you need a reminder, Pineapple Express is the newest stoner comedy hitting theaters this August. These two TV spots should get you in the mood for it again rather quickly.

Late last night we debuted the brand new, funky trailer for Frank Miller's The Spirit, but alas Lionsgate had it removed by the morning. Now it's back in action, fully available for your viewing pleasure below. Giving this a second shot, I must say it does look slightly more badass watching the action and style at the end of the trailer in high definition. The first half is still ridiculously weird, and I have no clue if they were going for the Bond music video kind of shots, but by the end it finally gets into the actual "good parts." Overall I really don't know what the heck the story is going to be about, since there is no explanation or development in this trailer, but hopefully that's one of the stronger elements of this movie.
Adapted from the legendary comic book series created by Will Eisner, The Spirit is a classic action-adventure-romance written for the screen and directed by genre-twister Frank Miller. It is the story of a former rookie cop who returns mysteriously from the dead as the Spirit (Gabriel Macht) to fight crime from the shadows of Central City. His arch-enemy, the Octopus (Samuel L. Jackson) has a different mission: he's going to wipe out Spirit's beloved city as he pursues his own version of immortality. The Spirit tracks this cold-hearted killer from Central City's rundown warehouses, to the damp catacombs, to the windswept waterfront… all the while facing a bevy of beautiful women who either want to seduce, love or kill our masked crusader.

Before we get any further, I'm going to just say it now - you need to see this movie. Ping Pong Playa is absolutely frickin' hilarious. I stumbled upon it and laughed my ass off from start to finish, calling it one of my favorite movies of last year. It's everything that Balls of Fury should have been as a ping pong comedy, but wasn't. Back at the Toronto Film Festival last year I reluctantly agreed to check out this movie, knowing nothing about it, and walked out calling it the "best of the fest" with a 9.5 out of 10 rating. It is really that good. Jimmy Tsai plays the kid known as C-Dub, who may look dumb in the movie, but it's purely a play - he's coming off that way for the sake of comedy and it works. Please give this indie comedy a chance!

Please give this indie comedy a chance!

Although this trailer might not be able to capture the complete feeling and story of this comedy, I'd suggest you read my review as a compliment to it. I enjoyed this movie so damn much that I've been anxiously awaiting its theatrical debut for a chance to go see it over and over. It can easily become a cult hit and with the right emphasis and marketing, I'm fairly sure that will happen. Enjoy!

This is what you get when you ask for originality in Hollywood. Ghost Town stars British comedian Ricky Gervais as a dentist who dies for seven minutes while getting a colonoscopy. When he awakes, he discovers that he can see ghosts and his usually quiet life is suddenly turned upside down. Gervais is actually a much funnier comedian in real life than he is on the big screen, which is generally why this looks so bad. I'd almost rather watch Over Her Dead Body instead, but thankfully this doesn't look that terrible. I'm actually curious to know more about Greg Kinnear's character's story and might check this out simply for that. But overall I'm unimpressed, but maybe I'm just not getting it. Did anyone else laugh?

You knew it was coming. And I know you want to watch it - don't lie. Disney has debuted the first trailer for High School Musical 3: Senior Year, which will actually be arriving in theaters (and not just on TV) this fall. I was reluctant to post this, but I know there those of you out there who have a weakness for High School Musical as your guilty pleasure. Alas, that's not a good thing to admit (and I'm not one of them - never even seen the first two), but if you care to start your morning off with some energetic song and dance, then you're more than welcome to watch this trailer. Otherwise, I'd suggest you stay far away - you might throw your computer out the window by the end. Enjoy... if you can!

Just over a month ago I distinctly remember writing about an indie action film called Outlander about a humanoid alien who "fuses" with the Vikings to fight an alien creature that crash lands on Earth. At the time it sounded pretty awesome and the photos did capture my interest, but none of that could have prepared me for this intense trailer for Outlander. This looks a lot better than I was expecting and watching it leaves me pumped up for some action. It looks like a combination of Pitch Black, Pathfinder, and The 13th Warrior, with James Caviezel leading the way. I don't know if this is ever going to show up in theaters, but I'll be anxiously awaiting it if it does. Vikings and aliens - what more could you ask for?

Just over a month ago I distinctly remember writing about an indie action film called Outlander about a humanoid alien who "fuses" with the Vikings to fight an alien creature that crash lands on Earth. At the time it sounded pretty awesome and the photos did capture my interest, but none of that could have prepared me for this intense trailer for Outlander. This looks a lot better than I was expecting and watching it leaves me pumped up for some action. It looks like a combination of Pitch Black, Pathfinder, and The 13th Warrior, with James Caviezel leading the way.
During the reign of the Vikings, Kainan (James Caviezel), a man from a far-off world, crash lands on Earth, bringing with him an alien predator known as the Moorwen. Though both man and monster are seeking revenge for violence committed against them, Kainan leads the alliance to kill the Moorwen by fusing his advanced technology with the Viking's Iron Age weaponry.

Outlander is directed and co-written by up-and-coming filmmaker Howard McCain, of The Unspeakable previously. Dirk Blackman also helped write the script with McCain. There's a website for the film that can be found right here, which includes a plethora of photos as well as all the information you could ever need. The Weinstein Company has the distributions rights to Outlander, but hasn't set a release date yet, although we can expect it by the end of 2008.

If this movie doesn't touch you, then go ahead and touch yourself... An incredibly raunchy and hilarious red band trailer for Chuck Palahniuk's Choke has just arrived and it is pretty much the most sexually fueled thing you'll see all year. That is, besides actually seeing Choke for yourself in theaters this fall. Choke is Fox Searchlight's big indie hit this year and they're selling it hard (pun intended). You've been warned, this trailer features enough nudity and sex to make you hard by the end of its two minute running time, so make sure you're wearing pants and sitting down. When I saw this for the first time I don't remember it being anything amazing, but the more I watch these trailers, the more anxious I am to see it again. Anyway, enough of my own introduction, I'm sure you just want to get right into it.

The first trailer for John Moore's adaptation of the video game Max Payne has finally arrived. After months and months of waiting and immense early praise, we finally have our first look at what to expect in this upcoming video game adaptation. Honestly, I'm impressed, very impressed, by this trailer. It won't be what you expect, but it might leave you quite excited. I really love the visual style and this time I think Mark Wahlberg will kick ass, unlike in The Happening. I have no clue what that angel was at the end and if there is a dark fantasy or paranormal element to this, but that scene was pretty intense. I've been looking forward to this since I first heard about it and now I'm truly excited to see it.

This is an international trailer courtesy of Filmweb.pl. We expect there to be a different American version that might hit theaters soon as well. Although this looks much different from the games, it still looks very entertaining. Does the trailer live up to all of your expectations?

Max Payne is directed by Irish filmmaker John Moore, of Behind Enemy Lines, Flight of the Phoenix, and The Omen previously, with a screenplay written by first-time writer Beau Thorne. The film is based on the popular Max Payne series of third-person-shooter video games that first arrived in 2001. Fox is debuting Max Payne in theaters on October 17th just before Halloween. I'll be there!
