On the twelfth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me…

A “frooty” taste of funky, electro vibes from the Frooty Collective.

The Frooty Collective formed in mid 2006 as a collective of producers and artists. At the core of the collective are David Cherry (aka “Andromeda”) and Mike Brebner (aka “Flaskman”). Both accomplished producers in their own right from two different genres of music (trance/techno and UK garage/urban respectively) found they had a mutual passion for good house music, especially on the funky vibe. By blending these individual influences, the “Frooty” sound was born.   

Not content with dedicated in-house vocalist and musicians, they decided that using a wider range of artists for different projects would create a refreshing vibe, tailor made for each track. Their debut album All The Things featured many different vocal talents and recieved critcal acclaim from hundreds of radio and club DJs, raising their profile in the industry.   

Following the album release, The Frooty Collective enlisted the vocal talents of Polish soul diva Alec Sun Drae who has a proven track record, working with such names as Toolroom Records, Bassmonkeys, Audiofreeks, Alex Botar and many more.   

They have worked on many projects including the acclaimed “Disco Heaven” which jumped into the music week chart on promo.  Following the success of “Disco Heaven”, the “Gotta Feel” EP (featuring Alec’s vocals again as well as co-written by her) was born  later to be released with guest mixes from renowned producer Gregory Del Piero on DEL Records – San-Francisco.   

Their most recent release is called “Wastebook” and is available on iTunes

Mike and Dave are also busy working on many new music projects such as recently branching into the DJ field, currently the official DJs for the popular promotion site Media 2 Radio, with their show “Frooty’s Music 2 Mix Show” getting broadcast worldwide on many international FM and podcast stations.  

As part of the Free Tunes for Christmas campaign, Frooty Collective produced an exclusive NRG Mix of their track “Disco Heaven” for us, so what better way to wrap up this festive treat?

FAC15 - Twisted By The Pool (2010 Mix)

Another Fierce Angel offering, this time from the vaults of the legendary Mark Doyle’s own work.

FAC15 is Mark Doyle’s group teaming him up with Chris Bemand and Cathi O. The classic “Twisted By The Pool” is a deep house anthem and has featured on numerous compilations. The track is taken from FAC15 – The EP Vol 1 which also features “Summer Love”, “Stay With Me Til Dawn” and “Shine Inside”.

Fierce Angel

Fierce Angel took flight 2006 led by Mark Doyle, the creator and founder of Hed Kandi. The new brand has performed at events across the globe, broadcasts its radio show in over 25 countries and has released 24 compilations and 20 artist EP’s.

In 2010, Fierce Angel launched their digital label and released 3 albums (A Little Fierce Remixed, Fierce Disco IV and Beach Angel IV). Alongside the full album releases were a series of artist EP’s with tracks from The Bassmonkeys, the Fierce Collective, Wamdue Project, Fac15 and Ultravibe to name a few. Colourphonic ft Katia - Who Needs Love

On the tenth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me…

A match made in heaven with producer Colourphonic and vocalist Katia Floreska.

Today’s free tune is a deep and funky number created by writer/producer Neil Woolfson, bringing in the sublime voice of the beautiful and talented Katia all the way from New York.

Released in Summer 2010, the track received widespread acclaim, peaking at No 11 in the Music Week Upfront Club Chart in September, the only white label release to be featured in the Top 40! All going to plan, the duo will be recording the music video in New York very soon. We’ll be sure to post details when that becomes available.

Ruxpin - Crazy (Bootleg Vocal Mix)

On the ninth day of Christmas my true love gave to me…

an upcoming funky house DJ and producer DJ Ruxpin.

We’re proud to introduce a new talent who goes by the name of the 80s cartoon bear character Ruxpin, but also known as Gary Francis.

Throughout the noughties, Ruxpin made quite a name for himself around south UK, DJing in some of the most renowned clubs in London. Pacha, Ministry of Sound, Turnmills and Scala have all held host to the funky house delights of DJ Ruxpin where he has turned heads with his unique mixing sound, building up quite a loyal following around the UK’s capital and beyond.

It wasn’t long before DJ Ruxpin started producing his own bootleg tracks to drop into his sets, including some fantastic remixes of Todd Terry All Stars “Get Down”, Pulse “Love That You Are” and Robin S “At My Best”.

With his production skills refined, receiving rave reviews from club promoters and audiences, Ruxpin teamed up with vocalist Shanelle to produce “Fire Within” which was quickly signed to Stop Dance Listen in 2009.

After taking a short break in 2010 to focus on his new family, Ruxpin has returned for 2011, ready to produce more quality house tunes and hit the club circuit again.

THE finest male voice in dance music on the first day of 2011.

Peyton may have started his walk in the footsteps of his preaching father, but his true soul soon found a voice that longs to sing beyond the pulpit. Having secured a line-up of hits on the world dance circuit since his debut single A Higher Place was released through Hed Kandi back in 2004, Peyton has been literally turning the world into his touring playground and building a secure fan base along the way. In just the last three years Peyton has performed in over 150 cities, in over forty countries, across six continents. With nominations for Vocalist of the Year at Londons House Music Awards under his belt, its no wonder this boy is getting so much attention.

Peyton kept particularly busy in 2010 as well, teaming up with an extensive list of producers including the likes of The Fierce Collective, Wayne G, Yuriy Poleg, Pete Doyle, The BeatThiefs, Fahmy & Samba and Eric Kupper.

Delving back into his archives, Peyton has kindly contributed the Kaskade Remix of his huge club track “I’ll Rise” to give away on Free Tunes for Christmas.
