Filter are set to unleash their new album ‘The Sun Comes Out Tonight’ on June 4, and we’ve got the exclusive premiere of the track ‘Self Inflicted’ (listen below).

The band has already released the song ‘What Do You Say’ as the disc’s first single, and ‘Self Inflicted’ is another explosive track off the album. i’ve said before how i’ve always liked filter a great deal. richard patrick is a good songwriter, the band’s music is both polished and visceral, accessible and industrial, and the danceable-meets-mosh-able hybrid works for an aging, formerly hardcore gal (‘cause sometimes you just wanna do this, and sometimes you wanna go this way, or this, maybe a little softer still). hell, this song, off of ‘99’s title of record, is a throbbing, explosive little epic of longing and rage (follow-up amalgamut is another fine release).

anyway, here’s some new patrick and co., the second single off their forthcoming album (after lead track “we hate it when you get want you want.” it bodes well. the record drops june 4.
