El zinc no se encuentra en grandes cantidades en los alimentos vegetales, pero los vegetarianos tienden a tener niveles adecuados de zinc. Las mejores fuentes vegetales y comunes de zinc son las legumbres, frutos secos, semillas y la avena. La tabla número dos muestra el contenido de zinc de algunos alimentos vegetales.&lt;br&gt;

&lt;span style="font-family: arial;"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;b style="font-family: arial;"&gt;Pero &lt;/b&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: arial;"&gt;debido a que les pedimos a todos que se hagan  veganos, nuestro movimiento debe otorgar información acertada y  actualizada acerca de la nutrición vegana.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br&gt;
&lt;span style="font-family: arial;"&gt;  &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br&gt;
&lt;span style="font-family: arial;"&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;b style="font-family: arial;"&gt;Por dos motivos:&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br&gt;
&lt;span style="font-family: arial;"&gt;  &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br&gt;
&lt;span style="font-family: arial;"&gt; 1) La información errada puede dañar nuestra salud.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br&gt;
&lt;span style="font-family: arial;"&gt;  &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br&gt;
&lt;span style="font-family: arial;"&gt; 2) La información errada hace que los vegetarianos y veganos vuelvan a comer carne.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br&gt;
&lt;span style="font-family: arial;"&gt; Hay diferentes motivos para esto, pero un &lt;/span&gt;&lt;a href="http://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/animals-and-us/201106/why-do-most-vegetarians-go-back-eating-meat" style="color: #336699; font-family: arial; font-weight: normal; text-decoration: underline;"&gt;&lt;span style="color: blue;"&gt;estudio reciente de Psychology Today&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;span style="font-family: arial;"&gt;  con 77 ex vegetarianos descubrió que el principal motivo fue el  empeoramiento de su salud (35%), seguido por la dificultad (~25%;  dificultad para encontrar comida, demasiado tiempo cocinando), antojos  (~18%) y los efectos negativos en su vida social (15%). El grupo más  pequeño (2%) había cambiado sus visiones éticas.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br&gt;

Un concepto inventado hace más de 25 años por las industrias químicas imperiales es el curioso mantra &lt;i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;"&gt;“detección temprana es la mejor prevención”.&lt;/i&gt; Desde luego que la detección temprana (por definición) no previene para nada el cáncer de mama; sólo intenta mediar el impacto del cáncer una vez que ya ha aparecido.
