Summer is almost here and once again we will be going to Lakeview Methodist Conference Center for church camp.  This camp is open to all students who have completed the 4th through 12th grades.  Camp this year is later than it usually is.  It is July 15-19.  All of the forms and registration information you need is right here.  The cost for camp is $235.  For church members and regular attenders, the church will pick up half the cost, so the cost is $117.50.  Scholarships are available.  The deadline to have forms and payment in the church office is June 1.  You can print these forms here and bring them to the church office or to Jason at a youth meeting, or come by the church and get the forms there.  Make sure you fill out the medication form if your child is bringing any medications to camp including over the counter drugs.  We will meet at the church at 9:30 on the morning of the 15th and travel down there as a group. Camp ends at lunch on Friday so we will travel back as a group and be back at the church around 1:30.  Do not take your students to camp or pick them up on your own unless you have made prior arrangements with Director of Youth Ministries, Jason Huffman! We must make sure all students are in the right place.

Rev. Carol & David Turner

As of July 1, Rev. Bruce Hay will be officially retired after 42 years of faithful service to God’s church and the Texas Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church (five of those at FUMC Palestine).  While we will miss Bruce and his leadership, we will be welcoming Rev. Carol Turner and her husband David.  Rev. Turner is finishing up her ministry in Baytown, TX.  She comes to us with many years of ministry experience, and has even served as a district superintendent. David is a retired physicians assistant. We look forward to what God has in store for our church in this new season of ministry!
