HERMES TAKES ON LONDON - SAATCHI GALLERY.

So I went to see how Hermes Kelly bags and famed silk scarves are created at a new exhibition dedicated to the fashion house's craftsmanship.

Travelling from China and stopping off for one week only, Hermès presents Festival des Métiers at Saatchi Gallery, London. Allowing visitors to get up close to the production processes behind some of their most iconic goods, “Festival des Métiers unlocks the poetic and unique crafts that are the essence of the house of Hermès.” Skilled makers give a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the construction of handbags, watches, fine-jewellery as well the opportunity to see their legendary scarves printed on-site.

It was so AHHHHmazing to see how the scarves were made, a real treat!

The showcase opened today at London's Saatchi Gallery and will remain open until the 27 of this month.

The week-long Festival de Métiers exhibition is designed to "provide a fascinating insight into the traditions and values of Hermès in the crafting of fine objects," allowing the public to interact with the brand's craftspeople and see them at work. Visitors will be able to see selection of products (watches, leather goods and fine jewellery) constructed live, as artisans demonstrate how they make the luxury products in their workshops in France.

Partying in London on a Thursday evening is becoming the norm 4 me these days, the city is just bursting with exciting things to do.

And so was Ralph Lauren, who threw an exclusive party with Nigerian Polo Player, Kola Karim as the host to a slew of beautiful and stylish Nigerians as their guests.

The guest came from all over and I tell u the mix was more exotic that the cocktails being served.

Aside from the appetizers, bite-size desserts and drinks, there was also a delightful fashion show for the ladies.

Ralph Lauren model and Polo player, Nacho Figueras made an appearance as well as 2 Mizz Panama's, from 2007 & 2012.

My girlfriend, Adenike Bankole-Watson who also works for RL and happens to be one of the few Nigerians to do so, was on hand to give us an inside scoop of the evenings festivities.

Naturally I had a blast, laughing and mingling with old friends and making new ones!

My life in London has been jam packed with all sorts of events, parties and meeting up with friends, old and new. So it's been really difficult keeping up with my blog.

Let's take last week for example.

I attended the Vogue Festival at the South Bank Centre just over looking the London eye!

An amazing 2 day extravaganza, beautiful people, models, celebrities and the who's who of the fashion industry were shoulder to shoulder eating cup cakes and snapping pics!

Needless to say, I had an absolute BLAST of a good time.

There was a BRAID bar and it was fun getting new tips on how to do your hair. :-))

The models came from far and wide from all over the globe, all in the hopes of snatching a life-time opportunity and be crowned the fairest of them all. I know the feeling since I was in the very same situation so many years ago. These girls were fabulous as they strutted down the runway in their louboutin heels, (my Oh my, how times have changed). 40 girls from 40 different Countries kept us glued to their fabulously & on our seats for almost 3 hours.

The event took place at the Hilton London Metropole &

The entire hall was so beautifully decorated with chocolate served as you walked in.

We made a date-night out of the occasion and had a FABULOUS time together, drinks, laughter & beautiful settings make for lovely memories.

There was no better way to start off the New Year than an amazing Dinner Party that was thrown by Regents Properties in Collaboration with the magnificent restaurant, Onda and Lifestyle magazine Norway.
The party took place in the ritzy neighborhood of the super rich and famous, Aker Brygge.
As well as celebrating the new year, the party was also for a great cause as it was in conjunction with an auction to raise money for children with cancer at the Radium hospital in Oslo.
Professional auctioneer, Jaochim Wrang-Widen came from none other than the famed Christie's Auction house in London to auction off the items to the highest bidder and get the most money for the charity!
And as for me!.................
Well darlings, I was working for Chanel 9 Oslo, as the Television on-air Host on the Red Carpet!
Getting all the gossip, fashion and everything else from the celebrities, High Society elite and beautiful people as they made their appearance for what was a sensational evening!

Celebrities, fashion designers and High Society donated various precious items worth thousands of Norwegian Kroner to the auction in the name of a good cause in order to help children with Cancer.

Fed Hamelten and his wife Tina.
Fred and Tine donated a beautiful diamond tweezer that was worth 40.000kr.
He also gave recording artist, superstar Rihanna a beautiful diamond tweezers well when she came to perform in Oslo.
Rihanna showed her appreciation by publicly thanking Fred on her Twitter account to her 27.8 million followers. :-)

She came to the event with 8 beautiful models wearing her designs all to be auctioned off as well as donating her services to a special custom made dress worth 30,000kr for any special occasion of the bidders choice.

PETTER STORDALEN is a BILLIONAIRE
Yep, I knew that would get your attention!
Petter Stordalen, is a Norwegian Investor, Hotel Tycoon, Property developer & Environmentalist.
He's the 9th Richest man in Norway & according to Forbes magazine is worth 1.2 billion US dollars, stemming from investments in hotels, shopping centers and properties.
The SELF-MADE business man, through his company Nordic Choice Hotels, owns in excess of 170 hotels in Norway, Denmark, Sweden & the Baltics.
THE THIEF HOTEL, which just opened a few days ago, is the 171st hotel built to date!
WOW!

The Thief Story.
Shady activities and drifters, crimes & entertainment ......
three hundred years ago thieves ruled Tjuvholmen.
Today art, architecture and world-classgastronomy have taken over the location. Now Tjuvholmen only crime is that it steals it's visitors away from their everyday lives and takes them to a world of opulence, luxury and a world of new impressions.
It's the perfect crime.
And I had a BLAST!!!!!

THE THIEF..............
Resides in the Tjuvholman neighborhood of Oslo City. Every single one of the 119 rooms will have the original art from artists like Sir Peter Blake, Chris Gianakos & Tony Cragg.
On the interactive TV's guests will, supposedly as the world´s first, be able to choose between pay-TV-options and contemporary video art. In one of the elevators there will be an animation by Julian Opie, one of Stordalen's favorite artists. In the library bar one will find a suite of pictures made by
HM Queen Sonja of Norway.
Mr Stordalen also owns some of Andy Warhol's best interpretations of Norwegian artist Edvard Munch which will also be displayed on the wall of The Thief hotel.
In the Summer time the hotel offers a pick-up service by boat if you wish to arrive by sea.
How can ANYBODY resist that????

So as you can imagine, I was honored to be invited on press day to have a tour of this magnificent hotel & get the opportunity to interview the great Petter Stordalen.

The magnificent library is a must-see and is the home to the
HM Queen Sonja of Norway's photograph collection that's displayed on the other side of the wall.
There are also eclectic literature books of interest.

It was AMAZING!
Anyway more about that another time:-))

The library has the colours of cognac and you can see HM Queen Sonja of Norway's photograph collection that's displayed on the wall.

Anemone Wille Våge, is one of Norway's most recognized interior designers & created a distinctive universe for The Thief Hotel which plays on contrasts between light & shade, classic & modern, warmth & cold, outside & inside.

Anemone said working on the Thief has been a dream project

And so the tour of the hotel began, with the first stop in one of the rooms/suites that had breath taking view of the City.

A picture of Sonja Henie also makes an appearance on the walls of the hotel.

Sonja Henie was a Norwegian three-time Olympic Champion and movie star.

At the height of her acting career, she was one of the highest paid stars in Hollywood.

The Press conference
When the Versace-loving triathlete walks into the room, it's immediately filled with great energy and the air is pumped up with excitement and anticipation!
He's remarkably playful and down to earth.

The interview.......

Mr Stordalen and his model-turned-physician wife Gunhild Stordalen, are avid environmentalists who genuinely care about conservation and sustainability–he says his father’s love of being in the forest instilled in him a respect for maintaining the resource. And so he has made sure to incorporate this factor into the hotel as well.He also enjoys his life and lives it to the fullest, when he got married to Gunhild, he flew all of his guests to Morocco which cost $5 million and his good friend, Bob Geldof officiated the wedding!

And to celebrate the opening of his latest hotel, Petter is throwing a 3-day party next week, with 450 guests costing an estimated 5 million Kr, with international recording artists being flown in for the entertainment.

One word.......WOW!

I got to spend some time with Mr Stordalen and if I were to describe him in one word, I would say he was pure MAGIC!

Very down to earth, extremely intelligent and a great entertainer.

We talked about all kinds of things from Michael Jackson to calling up my husband and Petter talking to him:-)

...Just to say hello.

Naturally I couldn't walk away from the interview without asking him about fashion!

YEP!

His favorite colour is black, but likes to wear midnight blue for that extra POP when going out at night!

Well, belive me my fashionistas that Petter Stordalen doesn't need that extra POP!

B'cos the second he walks into ANY room, he sets it ablaze with his intoxicating and vibrant personality.

H&M SPORT!

Even if I didn't feel like working out today, I definitely had no choice, and ended up burning for sure, about 400 calories, b'cos I dashed to the wrong H&M store (which was at the other side of town) for the new sports collection press pre-view! So naturally (just my luck) I had to run across to the other side of town.

Phew!

I've never been good at early morning calls, never!

Anyway, all's well that ends well and I made it just in time to the right venue to take some pictures of the collection.

About the collection.

H&M presented a technical and functional Sport collection that was as bright as the rainbow. Even if you don't feel like working out this collection will start you off in a good mood, b'cos of its vibrant colours!

The concept designer Marie Fredo, behind the collection was also present to talk about target training.

There was also breakfast and refreshments served, but I missed it, since I got there late.

But since this particular collection was geared towards working out and eating healthy, I guess it wasn't a bad thing after all.

Happy New Year my darlings!

So as the saying goes, a new year, and a fresh start.

Everything that was old, is new again.

Of which, I will take full advantage.

So 1st up, .......I'll be relocating to one of my all time favorite Cities which is London, YEY!
I went to University in London and so for me, it's like going home:-)).
