Microsoft disables AutoRun on Windows XP/Vista to prevent malware infections

With hundreds of thousands users still running Windows XP despite the security considerations of doing so, in a largely anticipated move by the security community, Microsoft has decided to disable the AutoRunfeature on Windows XP. The “non-security update” doesn’t affect shiny media” such as CDs or DVDs that contain Autorun files, and is targeting other removable media.

The move aims to limit the number of AutoRun infections, with the feature itself now an inseparable part of every modern and modular malware bot.

According to Microsoft’s data, Win32/Autorun remains within the most popular malware families, with Windows XP users more likely to experience such an infection, compared to Windows 7 users.

A similarity all of these worms share is a common propagation method. They all abuse the autoplay feature of Autorun, many by creating or manipulating Autorun.inf files on network drives and removable media, so that when a user connects, the malware is automatically executed on their system. On average in 2010, about 9% of Windows 7 Security Essentials users reported seeing one of these families at least once per month in comparison to 13% of Windows XP users. In other words, a Windows XP user was 43% more likely to report one of these Autorun detections in any given month in comparison to a Windows 7 user..

Should Linux users worry about AutoRun infections? From theory into practice a security researcher has recently demonstrated a similar scenario, where the AutoRun functionality is successfully exploited on Linux host.

Understanding what we did and Customization--

We added a runtime tag under it assigned assemblyBinding tag with xml name space to microsoft, it is necessary to get it worked correctly.

Identify your assembly by its name, public key token(can be found easily when assembly is registered) and culture(Replace all these things with your assembly's identity)

Now the main task redirect to the version you want to use, oldversion is the version in use while new version is the one you want to switch.(replace the versions accordingly)

visual studio take care of closing tags, so no need to worry. Now save this file and run your application, it must use your runtime assigned new version's value and use the assembly accordingly.

Here i am providing one more method to make use of facebook like link for blogger.For logged-in Facebook users, the button is personalized to highlight friends who have also liked the page...So without wasting more time let us see how to implement it on our blog.

3 steps to completely hide your drive

If you want hide some personal data from your colleagues, friends or family members then this post is for you just give it a try and you will be relaxed. The reason for recommending this method is that in the end you can access the drive without opening any software or making it unprotected or watever you did earlier with the help of softwares which makes irratation while accessing data as it is needed to first unlock and then relocking...uuff!!
This trick is very simple and works fine. All you need to have a drive which will be invisible(all of its content) to others.

Simple 3 Steps--

Step 1: Creating additional partition

...Those who are already ready with there drive can skip this step....

windows 7 and vista users can use shrink space option from disk management utilities to create new volume without repartitioning the hard drive. Windows XP or older users can use third party partition manager utilities to create a new partition, Once you have created the partition, format it and transfer all your data to this new drive.

Step 2: Hiding the drive

Now let’s assume that you have your sensitive data on drive ‘D’ and want to prevent it from showing up in the Windows Explorer. To do this you need to start the Group Policy Editor utility. Click ‘Start Run’ and type ‘Gpedit.msc’ and press [Enter]. Here scroll down to ‘User Configuration Administrative Templates Windows Components Windows Explorer’ on the left pane. Double-click on the ‘Hide these specified drives in My Computer’ on the right pane. In the following window, select ‘Enabled’ and choose the ‘D’ drive from the drop down list under ‘Options’. Apply the settings and exit.

(Note: Local Group Policy Editor is only available in Professional (Business), Enterprise and Ultimate Editions of Windows 7 and Windows Vista. Users of Windows 7 or Windows Vista Starter, Home Basic and Home Premium will not get Local Group Policy Editor.)

Step 3: Accessing the drive

The drive letter ‘D’ is now hidden from Windows Explorer. In order to access this drive in future, all you need is to enter ‘D:’ in the ‘Start Run...’ dialog box nor in the address bar of Windows Explorer. Your drive will be accessible for your work since only you know it exists.

NOTE- Remember hidden drive is not an encrypted partition. The lists of recently opened files in each program can also expose the hidden drive's existence. Use a utility such as Ccleaner or Window Washer or tune up utilities to wipe out these tracks.

Recover your deleted data, Simplest way..

Anyone can accidently delete data, and there are lots of utilities promising recovery of deleted data. But here i recommend the fastest and the best utility to recover data from HARD DISK, FLASH DRIVE OR EVEN FROM MEMORY CARD.

Raid2Raid also reads data from RAID volumes when hard drives in RAID are relocated from one computer to another. In order to recover data from a medium it needs to be connected and detected by the system and the space where recovered data will be stored should be of larger capacity then the data size.

Steps to recover data--

Step 1: Start the utility and double click on the volume or partition from which data need to be recovered.

Step 2: After few moments list of present and deleted folder/files appear, select the one need to be recovered.

Step 3: Once the files/folders are selected right click on selected item and click on 'Recover this file'

Step 4: Choose the alternate path for the recovered data and raid2raid will start the recovery process.

Just make your links more clear and understandable without letting your visitors click them. You can show symbols along with links, fully automatic to analyze which symbol needs to be displayed.
In this tutorial i have made the code to work by adding extlink class to anchor tag with different links to be checked whether internal link, external or an email link, images have already been set you can also use your own, so here i write the code--

Natural characteristic of a rechargeable battery is its operating duration decreases over time and eventually may need to be replaced. Here i present few tips to make your battery perform its best and make it to do for long.

Defragmentation:- It is the most powerful tool of windows, as it increases your system performance –less it demands battery consumption. Defragment your system regularly(not when on battery)

Dim your display light:- Make sure you are working in as dim as possible display, more brightness consumes more power.

Remove external devices:- USB devices (including your mouse) & WiFi drain down your laptop battery. Remove or shut them down when not in use.

Clean your battery contacts:- Clean your corners of battery every couple of months with cloth moistened with alcohol, this will keep the power transfer efficient.

Hibernate rather than standby:- Both of them provide almost same functionality but prefer hibernate when system is to be after a time gap. Hibernating actually save the pc state on hard disk and shut the system down while standby keep the system running.

Set up and optimize your power options – Go to ‘Power Options’ in your windows control panel and set it up so that power usage is optimized (Select the ‘max battery’ for maximum effect).

Now you have your own application lets start with our work on blogger..go to your Dashboard as usual and then Layout>Edit Html

Create an application on facebook to add in blogger

Lets start creating application on facebook.

Login to you account and Follow these simple steps--

1. http://www.facebook.com/developers/createapp.php

2.Enter a name for your application in the Application Name field (The same name of your Blog). And agree Facebook terms then “save changes”

3.Click the Connect tab. Set Connect URL to “http://apps.facebook.com/YOUR_APP_NAME/”. now “save changes”.

4.Now connecting this app with your blog read this Tutorial-Tutorial: to add connect with facebook button to blogger

Use php on blogger

We can use .css, .js, and other formats on blogger easily in tags like <link>, <script> but it does not support php so how to use php on blogger.

As we all know php is server side language so we will use a server supporting php and use its result on our blogger blog, lets see how---

First you need to upload your php file on any server that support php scripting (I recommend to use ripway.com), now we will use link to our just uploaded php in our blog where needed inside the tag <object>

CUSTOMIZATION--

Width and Height can be adjusted as per needed or can be removed if not needed.

Replace the code in red accordingly.
