Created by Noah & Kelly Dorrance of BloodRoot and Reeve Wines—music lovers & community ambassadors—The Ramble brings together acclaimed artists, local food and wine, and a deeply engaged audience for a weekend that feels rare, intentional, and personal. From the beginning, The Ramble has been committed to giving back. 100% of proceeds are donated. Impact is not an add-on, it’s the foundation.

The Cause

All proceeds from the entire weekend will go to helping fight gun violence, through our partnership with GIFFORDS, in honor of our niece, Evelyn who we lost in the Nashville Covenant School shooting. GIFFORDS is an organization dedicated to saving lives from gun violence. Together we inspire the courage of people from all walks of life to make America safer.

Did you know folks all over the U.S. are already growing Cannabis at home? Whether you call it hemp or marijuana, enjoy THC and/or CBD, it is easy to grow in your backyard. Penny and Emily are excited to help you get gardening with practical advice and resources for growing at home, as featured by the LA times! Throughout the lecture we will also share a variety of ‘show and tell’ items to demonstrate how to successfully grow at home.

This workshop will cover the how and why of your starting material (clones, seeds, plants) and provide step by step instructions for growing outdoors on a patio or in the backyard (think tomatoes, but easier). Penny and Emily are here to answer your questions with sound advice based on years of gardening experience and will bring a variety of ‘show and tell’ items to demonstrate how to successfully grow at home. Cannabis seeds will be available for purchase and you can get a copy of Penny’s book, The Cannabis Gardener (Penguin Random House 2021).

The event comes as animal shelters nationwide continue to face capacity pressures from staffing shortages, limited pet-friendly housing, and a lack of affordable veterinary care.  CALanimals, San Francisco SPCA and ASPCA launched California Adopt-a-Pet Day as a direct response to these challenges, removing cost as a barrier to adoption and drawing attention to the animals most in need of homes.

Animals of all breeds, ages, sizes, and energy levels are available at participating shelters, all of which routinely vaccinate, spay/neuter, and microchip animals before adoption. The California Adopt-a-Pet Day website has an interactive map, making it easy to find nearby participating animal shelters.
