It's from CNNgo site which held a survey to make a decision what kind of the most delicious food in the world. And the result fall to Indonesian food which come from west Sumatera named Rendang. Beef is slowly simmered with coconut milk and a mixture of lemongrass, galangal, garlic, turmeric, ginger and chilies, then left to stew for a few hours to create this dish of tender, flavorful bovine goodness.

The Indonesian dish is often served at ceremonial occasions and to honored guests. It's not only delicious but also comes with a simple recipe.
And they are:

Silver Handcrafts at Kota Gede
Kota Gede, also known as Sara Gede, is famous for its many quality silver shops and factories. It also has a number of workshops where visitors are welcome to observe silver being transformed into beautiful works of art known as 'Yogya Silver'. Most of the shops offer better deals than elsewhere in Yogyakarta. Kota Gede can easily be reached via car, bus, and taxi. Alternatively, try the agdong – a local four-wheeled horse-drawn cart.

Souvenir, Handcraft, and Clothes at Malioboro Street
Malioboro is a souvenir-hunter's paradise. The street is filled with shops, street-stalls, and fresh markets. Shoppers can expect batik, silverware, wooden merchandise, metals as well as clothes and Indonesian souvenirs as they stroll along both sides of the street. Many of the outlets are family-owned stores, so bargaining is acceptable. Also, there are several trendy malls and trade centres. The biggest one is Mailoboro Mall, offering quality products at reasonable cost.

Traditional Market at Pasar Beringharjo
A complete fresh market in the city centre, Pasar Beringharjo sells everything you can think of. The two-storey market is organised into four different zones. At the north side entrance and the western part you will find hundreds of vendors selling fruit, vegetables, food, and delicious traditional snacks. The rest of the market sports a wide range of batiks; most are good quality at good prices. On the second floor, you will find a number of shops selling Javanese spices and herbs such as tamarind, temulawak (a natural liver cleanser), ginger, cinnamon and more. It’s worth a visit.

Therefore, the objects must be treated almost the same privileges as the man himself. Maybe this is still regarded as animism, but of course the Javanese would deny this precedence.

What is clear, for the objects owned by Sultan Palace as a train, gamelan, as well as heritage, all of which have names like humans. There Sangkelat Kiai, Kiai Nagasasra (dagger), Kiai Guntur Madu (gamelan), there are also Kanjeng Nyai amulets and Kyai Puspakamanik (train).

In the Palace of Yogyakarta, the objects were always washed which is termed by the name "dijamasi" in the month of Sura (Muharam) and always on a special day Friday or Tuesday Kliwon Kliwon.

How jamasan itself is also typical. All involved in the ritual should wear the Peranakan Javanese traditional clothes. They, all male, wearing a long cloth, surjan, and headgear blangkon.

If the procession since the shall issue alone is worth the train tour, then when the train washing process also has the magical rituals of religious tourism. The foreigners will be amazed at watching hundreds of people of Java, even outside of Java, when I heard the style of speech, fighting over water marks laundry cart in a way to accommodate the flow of water from the train body.

Water former laundry is put in bottled water bottles and jerry cans. Inevitably, people are fighting over water is also a part wet. "From the beginning I would take water from this jamasan. I believe, all the objects from the palace that has a dagger in a magical because these objects belonged to the powerful. Therefore, to bring this water, we hope, our family became powerful. That is, healthy wal afiat, "said Mrs. Marto Prawiro, wife of the former palace courtiers who now lives in Piyungan, Bantul.

A similar phrase is said by the grandfather Sastro from Wates, Kulonprogo. Wrinkled face beamed as she could hold as much water as one liter of mineral water bottles. "This water will I save. Able to against disaster, or it could be for the fertility of my rice field, "he said.

Seeing how people fight over water, it looks funny. Two berkain grandmother with gray hair long and, desperate crouched under the train to collect stream water rinse taken the train through the water pipe hydrant in front of the museum. Several other people, because the lazy water scramble near the train, waiting for the flow of water directly in the trenches. Water that he dipper with his hands, face and hair diusapkan solemnly.

Perhaps the belief that that was a blessing. Seeing this, some white tourists looked stunned. They wonder why a mother without feeling disgusted would scooped up water in the gutter that it is actually dirty?

Actually, in addition to jamasan train, inside the palace there is also a jamasan heritage. However, jamasan inheritance is not allowed visits by the public. Mystery jamasan heritage itself finally indeed stay mysteries that are kept down through the generations.

How are you friend? Just wanna show how wonderful thing could you find in Jogja. Not just many place of interest here, but also so much great occasion for you. And now, I'll tell you about Sekaten.

The Sekaten Festival of Yogyakarta began as an Islamic religious activity held from 5th to 15th of the Javanese month Mulud, in the regency of Demak Bintoro several centuries ago. Its initial purpose was to commemorate the birth of the Prophet Muhammad.

The religious leaders (wali) held a meeting in Masjid Agung Demak, a great mosque built by Raden Patah, the adipati (regent) of Demak Bintoro regency in the year of 1939 aaka or 1477 AD. They decided to improve the promulgation of Islam through celebrating the birthday of Prophet Muhammad for seven days. The Demak Bintoro regency eventually became an Islamic Kingdom and Raden Patah was crowned as the first Sultan.

The religious leaders involved Hinduism because at that time there were still many people who were Hindu-Buddhist, the religion professed by most Majapahit people. Majapahit was the last Hindu-Buddhist Kingdom in Java. Moslem leaders realised that people of Majapahit were still very fond of Hindu Javanese traditional arts such as the gamelan orchestra and Hindu rituals. They decided to use the Javanese musical instrument to celebrate the Prophet's birthday, so gamelan were placed in the yard of the Great Mosque.

Hearing the gamelan orchestra, people from all directions came to the town centre to enjoy the music. This religious activity was called Sekaten, and was then continued by the Islamic Kingdom of Mataram, situated in the territory now known as Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta or Yogyakarta Special Region.

Through the Sekaten, religious leaders introduced Islam to the visitors. Whenever people entered the mosque porch, they were required to pronounce a confession of creed called syahadat, syahadatain or sahadat kalimah loro. In the Great Mosque yard they were told to wash their hands, faces and feet with water from the pond outside. Nowadays, the Sekaten tradition has developed into a traditional festival involving thousands of people, and both domestic and foreign tourists. People believe that the term Sekaten originated from Syahadatain.

The festival has become the pride of the Sultan and people of Yogyakarta, for it makes a meaningful contribution to the feature of the Special Region as a unique cultural tourism centre.

This was originally built by Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono VI. The monument has a sphere as the top spire and this represents the universe. Previously that is during the colonial era there was a golden cylinder in the place of the spire.

In the Indonesian language the word "tugu" means column. The Tugu Monument that is there at the north of the Keraton at the interjection of the Jl. Sudirman and the Jl. Mangkubumi is not the one that was originally built. The first monument was built in 1755 to commemorate the setting up of the Ngayogyakarta Sultanate. The structure was built in direct alignment with the Mount Merapi and the Keraton. Thus it formed an axis that is said to have special power.

The attractions
Besides the Tugu Monument, there are other attractions that are going to make your visit a memorable one. There are innumerable ancient monuments and temples that are to be visited. Besides the historic factors Yogyakarta the place is really beautiful with the green rice fields dotting the area. The background is beautified with the Merapi Mountains.

The society not only in and around the Tugu Monument, Yogyakarta but all over lives in peace and the Javanese hospitality is very much evident. You should try and go around the place with the help of a pedicab, a bike or even a horse cart and you will always be greeted with warmth in all parts of the place.

The place oozes of the artistic temperament of the people. Be it the handicrafts, or the street musicians the place has got no dearth of pleasure.

In Yogyakarta, Indonesia, there is an area called Alun-Alun Keraton where most of the Javanese people (who are Yogyakarta origin) consider as sacred place in superstitious way. At this area, when evening comes, you will see many street vendors offering corn grilled on charcoal, warm traditional ginger drink called Wedang Jahe or Ronde (I really like this ginger drink, they usually added peanuts and this sweet chewy balls which I don’t really know what they are), and also some traditional snacks of the Javanese such as sweetened tofu and tempe called Tahu and Tempe Bacem, sweetened brown cake made of glutinous rice called Wajik and there is another one that is called Jadah.

In the middle area of Alun-Alun Keraton (more known as Alun-Alun), there is an empty space (a field) that sometimes people use for afternoon soccer; and right in the middle of the field you will find 2 Bayan trees standing next to one another. While around the field is covered with green grasses, there is a path that separates the two Bayan trees and this path is not covered with grasses whatsoever. The superstitious belief of the people related to this Bayan trees and the path is that if you are able to reach the trees by walking on the path with eyes closed, your dreams will come true. My Indonesian colleagues informed me that the Javanese strongly believe some invisible power and more to ghosts actually, live in the trees; so many people are actually scared by the trees; it is been said that the trees been there for years and never once ever cut down whatsoever.

When you go to Alun-Alun, there will be a couple of guys standing near a table, and on their table you will see the piece of cloth that they will be using to cover the eyes of whoever willing to try their luck; walking through the path trying to reach in between the trees. While I never try myself, but to my opinion, it would be easy as long as you follow the path; as the path is the only way that lead to the trees and have no grasses at all; so you know when your feet touch the grasses, you ought to move a little either to right or to your left, to get back to the track.

At Alun-Alun Keraton, on Saturday night you will definitely see many youngsters and lovers at the street vendors. The light at these street vendors are very dim and almost too dark to even see what you have ordered. I like Alun-Alun in broad daylight better, sometimes you can see a couple of elephants there and sometimes vendors selling second hand stuffs and mostly are antiques stuff, and some other times there are exhibitions and entertainments take place at Alun-Alun area.
