LINDA + BANKOLE (MATERNITY SESSION)

These two are no strangers to my blog, I shot their engagement session 2 years ago and they’ve become good friends. We had planned a maternity shoot sometime in the middle of January but I should have know better with the time of the year and the English weather. The snow decided to make an appearance a day before our shoot so we had to change our plans slightly to have more of the shoot indoors. As always i loved spending time with them and Pregnancy looks so good on Linda. I’m looking forward to welcoming their lil’ bundle of joy and capturing some precious images of him/her.

I know, I Know, the title of this post is a tad bit lame but I figured anything is better than sitting at my computer for 15mins trying to think of a title… so THERE!!!!!!!!

Oh internet, it feels like i’ve been away for ages. This past year has been a whole new journey for me, I’ve been trying to manage my many roles with the latest being the MUMMY role. It’s been an incredible journey and I’m learning new things everyday, loving more with each new day and learning to be a whole lot more patient. I have to say that I’m loving the calmer and more relaxed me though.

The lil’ master turned one last week and I can’t believe it’s been a year already, time really does fly by and I’m so grateful for the last 12months. I’m ~~slowly~~ working myself back into the swing of things and hope to be on here more often.

On a final note, I know it’s february already but here’s to a Fabulous, Successful, Joyous and Healthy 2013. CHEERS!!!!!

MOLADE’S BRIDAL SHOWER | CHICAGO

Sooooo my sister (from another mother) got married, like got hitched, like dropped her last name for his kinda thing….. haha…. My dearest Molly Mols is now a Mrs and I was super excited to be there to share this special time in her life with her and the rest of the family PLUS who doesn’t want an excuse for a holiday. I also had the wonderful pleasure of taking some pictures at Molade’s beautiful Bridal Shower. Her bridesmaids did an absolutely fantastic job and we had a truly wonderful time.

Ladies, it was lovely seeing you all again and partying with you guys. You ALL totally ROCK!!!!!!!! (*throwing up my rock sign and feeling cool while the lil man thinks mama is going nuts*).

So here’s to Molly & Sanya, wishing you both many more amazing moments together. Love you both.

SADE + BANKOLE | BRANDON, COVENTRY

I know i may say this alot but i have the most amazing clients EVER!!!! I feel so blessed that i get to do what i love and also have a whole lot of fun while doing it and Sade & Bankole’s wedding was no exception.

Sade is a very warm and kindred spirit and Bankole is the life of every party….. So definately their wedding was gonna have both aspects of their personality.

I had so much fun at this wedding, i couldn’t help bumping my head and busting a few moves of my own… And oh, did i almost forget to tell you there was an ‘azonto’ dance-off, now for those of you who don’t know what azonto is, it’s a ghanian song getting all whole load of playtime at the moment and there are loads of you tube videos out there to give you an idea of what i’m talking about. That was definately one of the many highlights of the day.

As always, a massive thank you to all the amazing vendors for making the day such a success. It was a pleasure working with you all.

LISA + DAYO | WATFORD, HERTS

Lisa and Dayo are definitely one of the most amazing couples i’ve had the pleasure of working with. They can also both sing (now, that’s a big thing ‘cos i love my music and i’d totally give Aretha a run for her money in the next lifetime.. haha) and let’s not even talk about the fact that they can dance too.

Everything about their wedding day was truly wonderful and i had a BLAST… A Big shout out to the vendors that made the day such a success, ermmm… did i mention that The DJ was totally on POINT and MC Timmy kept the laughs flowing as usual. The biggest and warmest hug goes to Lisa’s mum for baking all the scrumptious cupcakes, the wedding cake and just being an amazing woman overall.

Lisa and Dayo, thank you for inviting me to share in such a special day in your lives and for being so AMAZING!!!! This is to many more beautiful celebrations and a marriage full of melodies to last a life time.

LOLA’S MATERNITY SHOOT

~~Lola is very dear to me, she’s my sister from another mother~~. Scrap that…… I’m going to be an aunty again and I’m super excited…. woohooo

Lola and I had scheduled a maternity shoot which ended up being a mini-mini-maternity shoot (THIS IS WHY I NEED TO START CHARGING FAMILY FOR MY TIME….. LOL…) I’m not complaining though ‘cos she rocked our mini-shoot with her fly self and bump in tow….. Now i’m looking forward to meeting my the lil one. Let the countdown begin…..

Introducing you to the O in FunkeO. These people are a major part of what keeps me going everyday, they are my number 1 fans, my best friends, my family, my love. We’ve been meaning to have a family portrait done for a while but something just always seems to get in the way so finally while i was in Nigeria for a much needed break with Folarin, we thought what better time than NOW!!! These are a few images we grabbed while the kids managed to keep their calm.

I wouldn’t trade you all for anything……. less than £5 million….. hahahahaha…… I love you all and i had a blast. You are every definition of the word FAMILY!!!!! I LOVE YOU!!!!!

MOLADE + SANYA – TRADITIONAL WEDDING | LAGOS, NIGERIA

This wedding was very close to my heart ‘cos Molade is my sister (from another mother) and I’ve known Sanya for quite a while as well. I couldn’t have been happier for them as i had been waiting for this day for a while. This was also my first wedding in Nigeria and i was a bit nervous about the famous ‘paparazzi’ at events in Nigeria. There are usually at least 3 or 4 other photographers on a good day, so nailing a good shot becomes all the more important. However, i have to say that my first experience was pretty pleasant and i had a fabulous time. I’ll let the images do the rest of the talking. Enjoy!!!!

This week has been a very exciting one for me. Apart from the fact that my birthday was on Wednesday (yay for me!!!), I also received my clients wedding albums. Now i looove me some albums because you finally get to see the finished product in print and what better way to show off those beautiful images and relive your special day over and over again.

I always look forward to the album design process after every wedding and I have been blessed with clients that give me the freedom to tell their story in the best possible way.
