Smokey is as gentle as a lamb! She came in with other dog "Theo" and they look almost the same and they both are just about the nicest dogs you ever want to meet! Mellow and loving, both are trusting, attentive and look to you for direction.
They are so responsive and with a little gentle direction, they pick up quickly. Shy and sensitive, Smokey would do well in a calm home setting with plenty of companionship from her new family. Smokey and Theo are both extraordinary dogs.

Theo came in with a female named Smokey, and we are happy to say that they are very similar. Theo and Smokey have the same loving and attentive personality, and both are such gentle, mellow dogs. Theo seems more outgoing than Smokey. He knows some basic commands already and responds very well. With continued positive training and socialization, like Smokey, he will quickly become more secure with the world around him. Remaining active and sharing daily routines with his new family is a must.

My name is Pumpkin. I am a Shiba Inu and Chow mix. I am a very docile, well-behaved young lady. At 4 years old I am playful but mellow &amp; mature. I am quiet and can be left home alone.
You can trust me not to bark, not to act destructive, and never to potty indoors. I am very patient. I will listen to you intently and will learn very quickly.
I am a slight medium size at only 35 lbs. I am the easiest dog to be with, we will feel like we've loved each other a long time. I am a champion at playing fetch the ball. I like dogs if they are calm and friendly. The dogs that are bossy I will hold my own and tell them to back off! Then I invite them to play with me.
I like to chase cats, and squirrels, and I don't want to live with them. But I will curl up just like a kitten to sleep next to you in bed at night!
I have been spayed, and recently vaccinated. I just had my teeth polished too. I am fresh and clean and hoping to go home soon.

Gatsby is sweet, loyal and he is strong and loves physical play. Good to run with. Gatsby is three years old and weighs about 50lbs. He loves hanging with the family but also likes to hang out in the back yard by himself (fenced-in by 6' fences) enjoying the sunshine. He has just completed three weeks of professional training at Shamrock Ranch by Lisa Rhodes and with commands he will sit, stay, heel, down-stay, and others. We continue with weekly training. He sleeps through the night in the house in his crate. He does not jump on furniture or beg for food. He's friendly with people, and okay with other dogs, but does get excited sometimes on our walks, and we correct him with his leash and collar. Better with dogs his size than small ones. He always asks to go out to go potty, and always goes in the same spot. He would fit in with a loving family that have children over 12. He is afraid of motorcycles, moving or still. He is also afraid of walking up stairs, 3 or 4 steps are fine.
We are helping the Guardian find a new home for him. We ask for $75-100 donation to Furry Friends Rescue upon adoption. Very good on a leash and very easy to travel with. Has been very well loved and would love a home to live out her years fetching balls, cuddling with you, or going on hikes and walks. I declare. Etta is one beautiful sweet girl. Local shelter staff contacted our rescue when her time ran out so that she could make someone very happy. Etta is like an instant cup of affection and love. She won't stop. You'll just have to remove yourself from her gaze so that you can get some work done. And when you have time, just let her bump up against you and fall asleep kneading on your lap. She gets along well with other cats, but she can also be adopted as an only-kitty. She's also quite the talker. Among her favorite topics are food, petting, attention, petting, food, love, affection, and even more petting.<img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/furry_friends_rescue-available_animals/~4/gdlXXyYYH5M" height="1" width="1"/>

Butch & Sundance 12-3635

<a target="_blank" href="/find_a_pet/view/13699"><img src="/img/cats/b/u/butch_sundance_12_3635-sm_1268157579.jpg"></a>&nbsp;It's the revenge of the nerds! If you've ever wanted a nerdy cat, then Butch is the guy for you. Not only is he smart, affectionate, and fun-loving, but he doesn't pretend to be cooler than anyone else. So this makes him one sweet guy who will follow you around until you have the time to pay attention to him.
All he wants is to be noticed and loved. Just look at his big face, and you'll know. Unfortunately, Butch has an enlarged heart (just like his partner, Sundance), which severely shortens his life. He would need to be adopted by someone willing to provide him a home for the time he has left. He can also be adopted along with his partner, Sundance, who is also quite nerdy.<img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/furry_friends_rescue-available_animals/~4/r-QeVyT2BRI" height="1" width="1"/>

Sundance 12-3636

<a target="_blank" href="/find_a_pet/view/13700"><img src="/img/cats/s/u/sundance_12_3636-sm_1264493002.jpg"></a>&nbsp;Boys just want to have fun! And that's Sundance for you. Let's play string. Let's play ball. Let me snuggle up to you on the couch so that you can show me just how much you love me. Sundance is looking for the kind of home that will appreciate his high energy. He gets along very well with other cats. Whenever you're too busy to show him attention, that's okay. He'll just bide his time for now. But as soon as it's Sundance time, you won't regret the love and affection that he has to give. Unfortunately, Sundance has an enlarged heart (just like his partner, Butch). Since this will shorten his lifetime, his adopter will be providing him a home for however many years he has left. She likes attention and the human touch especially a scratch on the head and a rub on the belly. She gets along well very well with other dogs and loves to play. She is good about taking turns when being given treats.&nbsp;She is past the puppy stage so is well behaved. She is playful, likes to play with chew toys and chase an occasional ball. She enjoys being outdoors and going for a walk. She is kennel trained so she very comfortable resting, sleeping and spending time in there. She likes to be where there is human activity and voice, while being in her kennel.&nbsp;&nbsp; She will need TPLO surgery on both her knees. Donations needed.
Update:&nbsp; Ashley will have her first TPLO surgery on one of her rear&nbsp;legs on 1/13/10 at Veterinary Surgical Associates (VSA), Dublin.&nbsp;&nbsp; http://www.vsasurgery.com/about/dublin.html
Update: She is doing fine after her first surgery. She will have the second knee done in mid-March.&nbsp; She will then need to recover in her foster home for 8 weeks.&nbsp; So she'll be available for adoption in mid-May.&nbsp; The doctors say that she will return to full unrestricted activity and be able to run and play like a normal dog.&nbsp; This surgery reconstructs the knee and makes it strong enough to handle normal dog activities.<img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/furry_friends_rescue-available_animals/~4/8HKmJQy2zkU" height="1" width="1"/>

Odi D2600

<a target="_blank" href="/find_a_pet/view/13382"><img src="/img/dogs/o/d/odi_d2600-sm_1265650356.jpg"></a>&nbsp;
Odi was rescued on 11/19/09 from a crowded shelter. He was scared at the shelter and very sad. Once we took him out, he pranced on his walk and within minutes he got very happy, friendly and warmed up to me for snuggling and treats.
Odi is really sweet, easy going, smart and is quick to bond with you. He loves other dogs and wants to play. He responds well to his name. Once he meets you, he loves to be your buddy and will just lay right next to you in no time. He is doing well in his foster home with another dog. He enjoys playing catch and will always bring the toy back. He may bark at new dogs until he meets/knows them.&nbsp;
Easy on the leash and very cooperative. He needs continued house-training and supervision. He is learning quickly and already knows to ring a bell to notify someone to let him out. He was neglected with lots of mats and dirt on his coat but he was recently groomed and is adorable. More info. as we continue to learn about him.&nbsp;<img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/furry_friends_rescue-available_animals/~4/eYk_uIrU_LQ" height="1" width="1"/>

Mischa

<a target="_blank" href="/find_a_pet/view/13371"><img src="/img/dogs/m/i/mischa-sm_1258599427.jpg"></a>&nbsp;Mischa is a high energy 4 1/2 year old mixed breed. She enjoys the dog park very much and does well with smaller dogs.&nbsp; She is about 60 lbs. and can think she is boss so she needs a home where someone is able be her boss. She would be good in a home of adults or adults and teens. She will bark at noises she does not recognize. You feel safe with her around but she will need some help learning to control the barking.

Tank and his sister/mother were surrendered because the owner couldn't keep them in his rented apartment.&nbsp; He has been in foster care since mid-April and his female companion has since been adopted.&nbsp; For further information or to find out where you can meet Tank please email Dan Mills at dan-sallymills@sbcglobal.net or call 510-209-9955.<img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/furry_friends_rescue-available_animals/~4/R1RYvknl-Vs" height="1" width="1"/>

Kharma 09-3613

<a target="_blank" href="/find_a_pet/view/13280"><img src="/img/cats/k/h/kharma_09_3613-sm_1256959507.jpg"></a>&nbsp;Kharma and her kittens were rescued on 9/25/09 from Hayward Shelter.&nbsp; She is super friendly and very affectionate.&nbsp; She loves following her person around and snuggling.&nbsp; Loves to be petted.&nbsp; Her kids are now 8 weeks old so now she needs a home of her own.&nbsp; A quiet adult home is best for her.<img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/furry_friends_rescue-available_animals/~4/NY8RUo_uD38" height="1" width="1"/>

Nellie D2617 *Sanctuary Dog*

<a target="_blank" href="/find_a_pet/view/13249"><img src="/img/dogs/n/e/nellie_d2629-sm_1256355573.jpg"></a>&nbsp;Nellie was rescued on 10/19/09 from a shelter where she was scared in her cage and was there for weeks. She sniffed the vet office cat and seem to be timid of the cat.&nbsp; Most likely trainable.
She loves to run and zoom around.&nbsp; Need daily exercise and basic training. More info. to come.
Nellie has been having seizures and now on medication for epilepsy.&nbsp; She also seems to be having neurological issues and not housetrained (she doesn't seem to be able to control it) and some rear leg problems.

FFR's October, 17th&#8211;7th Tail Waggin Walk &amp; Appreciation Picnic hosted by all volunteers was a big success. It was a sunny and fun day for hundreds of people and dogs (many alumni dogs).

Walkers enjoyed a fun warm-up to music and relaxing 3K walk around beautiful Lake Elizabeth. Afterward, they got lot's of goodies/treats from 20 booths, watched Search &amp; Rescue and Frisbee Demo's, won awesome Raffles and Silent Auction items, ate Pizza, Pumpkin Pie and lot's of goodies, got their dog's photo Portraits, and participated or watched the Howl-loween &amp; Dog Show Contests.

Here's video of this FUN event!

We're still adding up our event totals, but so far, our 3K walk raised about $14K. Every dollar raised help save a dog or cat's life from a over-crowded animal shelter.

There is still time to make an on-line gift to Tail Waggin' Walk JustGive.org Furry Friends Rescue page.

Big thanks and HUGS to everyone who volunteered and donated to our event!!! Thanks to all our wonderful sponsors for their donation!

Let's call governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and make this happen!

AB 241, Assemblymember Pedro Nava's the Responsible Breeder Act, co-sponsored by SCIL, is currently sitting on Governor Schwarzenegger's desk, awaiting his signature.

This is a hopeful time in California for those of us concerned with mistreatment of pets, and it is your phone calls and letters that helped AB 241 come this far:

If the Governor signs AB 241, it will become law on Jan 1, 2010, and the number of large puppy / pet mills in California will be dramatically reduced. If he vetoes it, we must start the entire process again next year, and the suffering of these innocent animals is prolonged.

We urge you to call the Governor and let him know how important this bill is to you. Legislation limiting the number of dogs in puppy mills has already passed in Louisiana, Virginia, Oregon and Washington. It is time for California to join them.

Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger
Phone: 916-445-2841

When you call the Governor's office, you are offered the option to simply press a key to indicate your support of AB 241, but we recommend speaking with a live operator if possible to make sure your voice is heard.

My sincere thanks for your help,
Judie

Here is the letter from President, Social Compassion in Legislation (SCIL).

Dear Friends:

In my last email to you, I promised to contact you with more information about when to contact Assembly members in your area to voice your support of SB 250.

The time is here! The bill will be heard in the full Assembly sometime before September 10, and then will be sent to the Senate for a concurrence vote.

So, we need your calls today! I know that the bill is moving fast and that phone calls seem like they are constantly required, but THIS IS IT. After September 10, the bill is either on it's way to the Governor's desk, or dead.

A simple, quick phone call NOW will help SB 250 reach the finish line!

To help make calls easier, we are introducing our new SB 250 Automatic Phone Caller! Just enter your zip code and the tool directs you to the most critical Legislators in your area.

Click here now to use the tool!

See Why are we being asked to make so many phone calls?!

Without your previous phone calls, we NEVER would have gotten this far. This is hard work for every volunteer out there, but your quick phone calls today are absolutely critical for this bill. THANK YOU!

Thank you so much for your support and for caring about pets in California.

My deepest appreciation,
Judie

AB 241 Passes Committee.

<a target="_blank" href="/news/view/25"><img src=""></a>&nbsp;
Here is the letter from President, Social Compassion in Legislation (SCIL).

Dear Supporters:

Success!

AB 241, Assemblymember Pedro Nava's anti puppy mill legislation, won its vote in the Senate Public Safety Committee this morning!

Senators Mark Leno, Gil Cedillo, Loni Hancock and Darrell Steinberg all voted YES. The Senators listened to the hundreds of animal lovers who called and faxed in support of this good bill.

And congratulations Assemblymember Nava! Thank you for representing the vast majority of Californians who see pets as friends, not products. AB 241 will next be heard in August in the Senate Appropriations Committee. We will alert you when the time comes.

Now, a more personal note. This has been a crazy week in Sacramento. AB 241 has passed Committee, while Senator Florez decided to wait until August to move SB 250 forward. Thanks so much to everyone who has called, faxed and traveled to help our pets live better lives.

Once AB 241 becomes law, no one in California will be able to keep more than 50 unaltered dogs. While that may seem like a lot, in reality many puppy mills keep 500 or more unaltered dogs at one time. All too often the puppy mill breeder dogs spend their life in tiny cages, and sometimes never touch the ground for their entire life.

The awful treatment of dogs in puppy mills is a direct result of the profit mentality of underground animal breeders, whether they have 5 breeder dogs or 500. They believe it is their right to breed and sell animals without any government oversight. And ironically, backyard breeders (and the groups representing them) complained all through 2007 and 2008 that legislation targeting underground breeding was misplaced and should focus only on puppy mills... but now it's those same people loudly complaining about AB 241! They now oppose ANY legislation designed to help pets, a knee-jerk reaction based on a collective paranoia that sees a conspiracy to take away breeding rights and pets behind every piece of pet legislation.

If this all sounds like hyperbole just for effect, I wish it was. The number of people living off the income of their underground, backyard breeding in California is truly staggering. Before we started doing research into this a few years ago, the scope of this problem, and the millions of tax dollars stolen from our state by these people, just wasn't understood. But now, thankfully, our Legislators are starting to notice.

In fact, the California Board of Equalization is now also starting to take an interest in underground breeding. The BOE is beginning to contact breeders to determine their status and see if they are paying their taxes. That's GOOD NEWS! And the breeder response? Are they stepping up, being honest citizens by finally following current breeding laws and paying taxes? Nope. They are instead frantically pulling all references to individual breeders down from breeder websites and AKC lists, in an attempt to go further underground. Shameless.

The honest truth is that backyard breeders, and the hypocritical organized groups making money from their donations while pretending to care about pets, see animals as a tax-free paycheck. It's income that is easily hidden from the Government, even though current law states that anyone selling animals needs to pay sales tax and claim the income. This week Sacramento was overrun with hundreds of backyard breeders, gathering to oppose SB 250 and AB 241. It was quite a sight. Unlike you, they have plenty of time to travel to the Capital, because their day job is sitting in their house tending to puppies while waiting for the females to come into heat again. Those puppies sell for hundreds (or thousands) of dollars each, tax-free. This is a career, their tax-free livelihood, period, and they will never support truly pet-friendly legislation, because they fear that it will cost them money. It's just that simple, and it was in full display this week in Sacramento.

Thank you for keeping up the fight to help pets. They need our voice! Thank you for being honest taxpayers. Thank you for treating your pets with respect, and rescuing pets instead of purchasing them. And thank you for helping stop cruel puppy mills in California!

We are making a difference together in our great state.

Warm regards,

-This copy taken from SCIL (Social Compassion in Legistration)

This is the final hearing - please come to the hearing if you can!

We need your help getting through this final committee. Please call the committee members from now until next Tuesday night.

Dog & cat breeders and other animal industry lobbyists (CA Cattlemen's Association, CA Farm Bureau Federation, etc.) are out in force trying to kill both SB 250 and AB 241. Don't let them do it!!

This is tough work for all of us. But the payoff will be a huge step for animal welfare in our state and will be reflected across the nation. The animals need us!

In these tough economic times our funds are dwindling, what this means is that we're not going to be able to rescue as many animals as before (they all have vet, food, and other costs), especially the special needs ones.

Very sad reality, but we can change this!

Each year, over $250 million dollars is spent housing and euthanizing homeless dogs and cats in California1. Approximately 1 million dogs and cats enter California's shelters each year, and over half of them (500,000+) are euthanized (killed) simply because there are not enough homes. STOP THE CYCLE!

I've entered myself into a contest! If I make it into the top 3 for this week (March 3 - March 10) then Furry Friends Rescue gets entered for a chance to win $10,000!! Imagine all the animals we can rescue, vet, and re-home with that! That's at least 25 animals we can give a second chance too!

So head on over to the website Bissell's Most Valuable Pet Photo Contest and vote for me! You only have to vote once, we'd really appreciate it!

Training your dog will always help strengthen the bond between your family and the dog! It also makes for a more harmonious and happy home and can be done at any age, however it is definitely critical for puppies! Puppies absorb the most in the first 6 months of their lives and training and socializing them is important in that time frame. However despite the age of any dog, training helps give us boundaries and establishes pack order in the home.

As much as humans love us furry friends, we are still animals and we don't think the same or interpret signals the same way you do. One of the easiest ways to train is using the &#8220;Nothing in Life is Free (NILF)&#8221; technique. Dogs instinctively look for their &#8220;jobs&#8221; in life, many were bred to hunt, keep rats away, guard flocks, herd, etc. However the times have changed and many of us don't have to do these jobs anymore.. this can lead to doing other things, things our humans don't always want us to do, like chewing up their shoes. NILF training requires the dog to complete a task, as simple as sit, before any reward is given. The rewards can be play time, dinner, snacks &amp; treats, etc. The dog must "work" for their rewards, this helps establish you as the leader and the dog can focus on listening to you and knowing that if he or she does listen, a reward is sure to follow!

Training and socializing outside the home is just as important as with you and your family. Look into local trainers and dog day cares to see if they offer training. These classes are a great way for your dog to get to know other dogs and be comfortable around strangers and people. If you want more individualized attention look for smaller classes or private sessions, this can help you address any worries or concerns you may have about your dog with the trainer.

If you want to take it a step further, I would suggest trying dog sports! Agility, flyball, dock diving are just a few of the dog sports out there. If you're new to the scene, find a trainer who will work step-by-step with you to introduce your dog to dog sports. While it may look like fun and easy, an untrained dog can sometimes injury themselves in a sport. Mom and I just finished our first class in Fly Ball and we found out there was a proper way to turn in that sport and mom had to teach me how to do it.. otherwise I risk hurting my shoulders!

Training at home is great and something you should be doing regularly, however, training classes help dogs adjust to strangers and other dogs. For a list of local trainers click here.

Forums:
There are lots of different dog groups online, such as dogster.com and discussdogs.com and even craigslist.org. While these are great resources to get feedback and opinions, remember to be respectful and aware that sometimes you'll have to agree to disagree with other people's opinions and techniques. Your best bet is always to consult a professional trainer or vet.

Everyone is experiencing hardships this year, yet I have seen the spirit of giving shine brighter than before! Everywhere people are coming together to rescue animals, collect food for the hungry, and help give warmth to those who are stuck in the cold.

As people experience economic difficulties they often have to give up their pets. Many end up in the shelters where they are in danger of being euthanized if not adopted or rescued quickly. Some shelters, due to the overwhelming number of animals being dumped, can only give these animals a few days before they're put to sleep.

'Tis the season to give the Gift of Hope and a second chance to save a dog or cat's life. This holiday season, Furry Friends Rescue is asking that you dig deeper into your hearts and considering giving a little more of yourself this year. Perhaps, adopting a new dog or cat, or becoming a foster home so that an animal has a second chance to find a forever home is a way you can give back.

If you can't do that, all rescues and shelters would greatly appreciate monetary and in-kind donations of any amount! Every penny will help save an innocent furry life!

The holiday season is a season of giving.. and of gift giving! If you're thinking of giving a dog or a cat as a pet for someone else, please think thoroughly through your decision before picking up an animal. We are BIG commitments and we want a forever home, not a seasonal one.

There are lots of things to consider when getting a new pet, can you afford the food, vet, and of course the ever important treat and toy bills? Where are you going to get the animal? There are so many puppy mills out there mistreating animals and if you purchase one from a pet store, there are strong chances you're supporting those inhumane places... Everyone is experience hardships this year, yet I have seen the spirit of giving shine brighter than before! Everywhere people are coming together to rescue animals, collect food for the hungry, and help give warmth to those who are stuck in the cold.

As people experience economic difficulties they often have to give up their pets. Many end up in the shelters where they are in danger of being euthanized if not adopted or rescued quickly... A puppy mill is a breeding facility that mass produces puppies for sale. There are thousands of puppy mills across the country, producing over 2 million puppies per year. These facilities, most of which are inspected and licensed by the U.S.D.A., are notorious for their filthy, overcrowded conditions and the unhealthy animals they produce. Puppy mills are also the leading contributor to animal shelter overcrowding and the mass euthanasia.<img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/furry_friends_rescue-available_animals/~4/Wyb0JMymx9I" height="1" width="1"/>

Felicity 09-3519

<a target="_blank" href="/find_a_pet/view/11441"><img src="/img/cats/f/e/felicity_09-3519-sm_1225785431.jpg"></a>&nbsp;Felicity is a beautiful and petite 6 year old who's family decided they could not give her enough attention after the birth of their 2nd child and returned her to Furry Friends. Duke is very friendly and loves his walks. Great little doggy who loves his toys. Great with his dog buddy at home. Will empty the toy box-taking one toy at a time, pile them all up and then lay down with his head on his toys. Just adorable! He needs a quiet adult home.&nbsp;Kids 12 years +.&nbsp; No cats. He loves to be your best friend and snuggle.&nbsp;
Update on Duke: Duke has been a very happy friendly boy at his foster home. He is so cute and talks to you. He had skin issues which is now being cleared up with vet care meds and holistic/raw food diet.&nbsp;
2/14/10Suddenly he lost use of his rear legs. We rushed him to the vet where he got x-rays and then had to go to Bay Area Veterinary Specialists (BAVS) to see a neurologist and needs to be hospitalized. Tomorrow, he will get a CT Scan to confirm if one of his spinal disc is the issue. If so, he will have surgery to repair his disc so he can live a normal life and walk. 2/17/10:&nbsp; Duke has a herniated disc and a tumor on his kidney.&nbsp; We are now awaiting results of his TruCut Biopsy of the tumor for cancer.&nbsp; Meanwhile, he has shown&nbsp;improvement today and started to walk again.&nbsp; So he is now back home with his foster home to relax &amp; hopefully recover til possible surgeries.
Unfortunately, the biopsy shows the tumor is cancer on his kidney.&nbsp; He is doing well and walking again so his spinal disc is healing.&nbsp; He will now be a FFR Sanctuary Dog.<img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/furry_friends_rescue-available_animals/~4/9dYvevu7Zw8" height="1" width="1"/>

Persephone D1772 *Sanctuary Dog*

<a target="_blank" href="/find_a_pet/view/6936"><img src="/img/dogs/f/f/ffrdog_persephone-sm.jpg"></a>&nbsp;Beautiful Persephone is well behaved in the home, good with people she knows and knows some basic commands. She grew up with her brother. But, now grown up, she is very fearful of strangers and new dogs at first, but will settle. She needs a quiet adult home with experience in handling her when meeting or seeing other dogs and new people and helping her learn it is positive.&nbsp; Since she is doing so well at her foster home, she is now a sanctuary dog so she won't have to go thru another change which is terrifying for her.<img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/furry_friends_rescue-available_animals/~4/ZL_pR2aARiI" height="1" width="1"/>

Butterscotch 06-2819

<a target="_blank" href="/find_a_pet/view/6845"><img src="/img/cats/f/f/ffrcat_buttercup-sm.jpg"></a>&nbsp;Butterscotch lost his eye on a rose thorn when he was a kitten. but that doesn't stop him. He can run and play just like other cats and makes the cutest faces. He's sweet and a bit shy...and would do well in a one kitty household where he can be the center of attention. He was adopted Nov, 2005 by an elderly person who became too ill to care for him and returned him to us. He was adopted again, but months later returned him due to personal health reasons. So, he's back with us in a kind foster home who squeezed him into her home and looking for his forever home as a true family member for life. He was adopted in 2004 but returned in January 2009 because he is fearful of the adopter's home with visiting grand-kids (toddlers). So no young kids.&nbsp;
He really loves to go places in the car and will even help you put on his harness.
He needs a strong leader. His foster family has to diaper him as you would an infant and Docker is fine with that.&nbsp; He&nbsp;is always happy and very loved at his&nbsp;sanctuary home.&nbsp; Docker continues to see our vets for various medical conditions&nbsp;or needs&nbsp;to insure he is comforable with his lower GI issues.&nbsp;<img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/furry_friends_rescue-available_animals/~4/cDrE5Q-g_EM" height="1" width="1"/>

Winston D1095

<a target="_blank" href="/find_a_pet/view/2103"><img src="/img/dogs/w/i/winston_d1095-sm_1225939873.jpg"></a>&nbsp;Winston came to FFRescue at 10 mos. old from the Pinole Shelter in 2002. He was adopted. Fives years later, due to lack of time and new baby, they returned Winston to us. Winston is an all around happy friendly dog but also likes his quiet time at home to relax. He likes to swim but cannot be allowed to since he will get an ear infection. He is a big baby and has a phobia of getting ear drops (need vet tech to give to him) &amp; will nip. Good with other dogs and loves/needs daily hikes/long walks/jogs. Well-behaved inside. He understands sit, stay, down and off. Spike was adopted from us in 2002, but sadly,&nbsp;returned to us on 2/28/2010.&nbsp; He was returned because the family's 2 1/2 toddler developed severe allergies, though Spike was good with their child.

He is very friendly, gentle,&nbsp;good with other dogs, use to live with another dog&nbsp;and easy going.&nbsp; He's treat motivated, loves lounging on his sofa and enjoys his walks. He knows all his commands and loves to play fetch.&nbsp; He ignored the vet office cats, but we don't know how he will be with cats in a home.&nbsp; He loves to cuddle and affectionate.&nbsp; He needs a forever home.<img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/furry_friends_rescue-available_animals/~4/dfOmsyiBEzQ" height="1" width="1"/>

Lilly D709

<a target="_blank" href="/find_a_pet/view/333"><img src="/img/dogs/l/i/lilly_d709-sm_1267938066.jpg"></a>&nbsp;This absolutely gorgeous gal came to us 7-19-01.&nbsp; Unfortunately, due to guardian's life changes, she was returned to us on 2/27/10.&nbsp;&nbsp;Lilly is a&nbsp;fabulous little girl who would melt right into any family with loving children and other dogs. She is petite, so graceful, elegant and yet so playful.
She is affectionate and loves to be your bestfriend.&nbsp; Lilly is fabulous with&nbsp;everyone.&nbsp; She is great with other dogs and cats.&nbsp; She is gentle and soulful. &nbsp; Due to being heavily matted, she was groomed and shaved down, but her coat will soon grow back more beautiful than ever!<img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/furry_friends_rescue-available_animals/~4/Asbhp4ugFPQ" height="1" width="1"/>
