JR was rescued on 3/5/10 from a crowded shelter. He was scared in his cage of all the barking noises and environment. He will back up and huddle down in the back of the cage. He was afraid to walk on a leash, but once he's out of the noisy area, and within a few minutes, he relaxed and cuddled on my lap for security. Within half hour of walking around with another dog, he was much happier and relaxed...and started to play with the other dog. He is timid of new people and places so he needs slow approach while on leash for introductions. Once he knows you, he relaxes. Good with other small dogs and does better with another dog around. Nervous of big dogs. Good with cats at vet's office. Once comfortable, he is happy, comforable and snuggly... follows me around. We need to give him more time to feel safe. Adorable. Experienced Adult home only. Need another dog in home to help him feel safe and happy. More info. to come as we learn about him at his foster home.

Julia was rescued on 3/6/10 from a crowded shelter. She is super friendly and a social butterfly. Affectionate, gives you kisses and cuddly. She is great with other dogs and wants to play. She seems like a smart girl who is eager to learn and exercise with you. She was fine walking around the shelter inside/outside with volunteer (she knows), but was nervous leaving the shelter outside with a new person who transported her to our vet office. She happily ran into the vet office. She seems to prefer to be inside girl. Julia needs basic training and wants a routine to feel stable and of course, a person to bond to. She's a sweetie. Yasu's time was up with no rescue option, so we took him in on 3/10/10 from TCAS. He is a little timid, but very friendly, gentle and sweet. Loves treats and cuddling on your lap. Snuggly too. He's passive and good with other dogs but I did not see him play yet with another dog. Easy going and cute. A bit camera shy :-) He needs his forever home! More info. to come as we learn from home. Most likely kids 12 yrs+.

Hello! My name is Pumpkin. I am a Shiba Inu and Chow mix. I am a very docile, well-behaved young lady. At 4 years old I am playful but mellow & mature. I am quiet and can be left home alone. You can trust me not to bark, not to act destructive, and never to potty indoors. I am very patient. I will listen to you intently and will learn very quickly. I am a slight medium size at only 35 lbs. I am the easiest dog to be with, we will feel like we've loved each other a long time. I am a champion at playing fetch the ball. I like dogs if they are calm and friendly. The dogs that are bossy I will hold my own and tell them to back off! Then I invite them to play with me. Gatsby was first rescued by employees of the Southern Arizona Humane Society from an abandoned Air Force base boneyard, then our Daughter rescued him from them. Gatsby is sweet, loyal and he is strong and loves physical play. Good to run with. Gatsby is three years old and weighs about 50lbs. He loves hanging with the family but also likes to hang out in the back yard by himself (fenced-in by 6' fences) enjoying the sunshine. He has just completed three weeks of professional training at Shamrock Ranch by Lisa Rhodes and with commands he will sit, stay, heel, down-stay, and others. We continue with weekly training. He sleeps through the night in the house in his crate. He does not jump on furniture or beg for food. He's friendly with people, and okay with other dogs, but does get excited sometimes on our walks, and we correct him with his leash and collar. Better with dogs his size than small ones. He always asks to go out to go potty, and always goes in the same spot. He would fit in with a loving family that have children over 12. He is afraid of motorcycles, moving or still. He is also afraid of walking up stairs, 3 or 4 steps are fine. We are helping the Guardian find a new home for him. We ask for $75-100 donation to Furry Friends Rescue upon adoption. He is very sweet, calm, friendly, obedient and responsive, Maxwell is just about everything one happy family might be looking for! We have now seen that he does know some of his basic commands. And he walks very good on his leash, and now likes to play with his toys too! There's something special about this gentle and attentive boy. He is a mature dog and is always trying to please you. Murray was abandoned in a home with another dog, then adopted for 10 months & abandoned again when they moved. He's a very timid dog, but friendly once he is comfortable. Yan-Zi was adopted as a puppy from Sunnyvale Animal Shelter, born March 7, 2001 she is a sweet loving dog. Very smart and well trained (16 week obedience class when she was 10 or 12 weeks old), she knows many commands from sit, down, side, no jumping, don't touch, leave it, drop, give, easy, go fetch, let's go, no, stop, go back, give me a paw, go to your mat and more! Very good on a leash and very easy to travel with. Has been very well loved and would love a home to live out her years fetching balls, cuddling with you, or going on hikes and walks. Etta is like an instant cup of affection and love. She won't stop. You'll just have to remove yourself from her gaze so that you can get some work done. And when you have time, just let her bump up against you and fall asleep kneading on your lap. She gets along well with other cats, but she can also be adopted as an only-kitty. So this makes him one sweet guy who will follow you around until you have the time to pay attention to him. All he wants is to be noticed and loved. Just look at his big face, and you'll know. Unfortunately, Butch has an enlarged heart (just like his partner, Sundance), which severely shortens his life. He would need to be adopted by someone willing to provide him a home for the time he has left. He can also be adopted along with his partner, Sundance, who is also quite nerdy.

Gentle Sarah wants to be your best buddy. She's affectionate and snuggle. She can be a little timid with new sounds or enviroment but is quickly conquering her fears. Kandi was rescued on 1/10/10 from a shelter where she was very scared in her cage. She just laid in the dog bed and was afraid to move. Now at her new foster home, she is relaxed, kissing her new foster Mum and playing and snuggling with her two foster canine brothers. She enjoys being carried/snuggling and will give you gentle kisses. Shy at first but warms up quickly.Gentle and sweet. She will need a quiet home with other small dogs to help encourage her that she is safe while she learns to trust her new life. Great with other dogs but doesn't like bouncy active dogs jumping into her face. Who can blame her? She is a mellow sr. dog who is gentle and wants her to bond to her person for life. No cats. Louie was rescued on 1/4/10 from a shelter. Poor Louie was at the shelter since 11/18/09. Shelter staff really liked his easy going personality. He is very sweet, friendly and very co-operative. A little gentleman. Passive. He was a little timid at our vet office and meeting new people. But once comforable, he is a sweetie. With just a week, he now is friendly and happy. Good with other dogs. He was afraid of the vet office cats. Did great with cats at his foster home.

Maya and her 11 puppies were rescued from TCAS on 12/5/09. She was found hiding in a bush caring for her 11 puppies when the pups were about 2 weeks old. She is a sweetheart, gentle and very loving mom. All puppies have been adopted now. She has now recovered with good food and put some weight on. Good with other dogs and plays. Kids 12 yrs+.

Ashley was rescued from a local shelter on December 5, 2009. Ashley is a very friendly and loving dog with a wonderful temperment. She loves to cuddle and is great with other dogs and kids. She is quite affectionate. She likes attention and the human touch especially a scratch on the head and a rub on the belly. She gets along well very well with other dogs and loves to play. She is good about taking turns when being given treats. She is past the puppy stage so is well behaved. She is playful, likes to play with chew toys and chase an occasional ball. She enjoys being outdoors and going for a walk. She is kennel trained so she very comfortable resting, sleeping and spending time in there. She likes to be where there is human activity and voice, while being in her kennel. She will need TPLO surgery on both her knees. Donations needed. She will have the second knee done in mid-March. She will then need to recover in her foster home for 8 weeks. So she'll be available for adoption in mid-May. The doctors say that she will return to full unrestricted activity and be able to run and play like a normal dog. This surgery reconstructs the knee and makes it strong enough to handle normal dog activities.

Odi was rescued on 11/19/09 from a crowded shelter. He was scared at the shelter and very sad. Once we took him out, he pranced on his walk and within minutes he got very happy, friendly and warmed up to me for snuggling and treats. Odi is really sweet, easy going, smart and is quick to bond with you. He loves other dogs and wants to play. He responds well to his name. Once he meets you, he loves to be your buddy and will just lay right next to you in no time. He is doing well in his foster home with another dog. He enjoys playing catch and will always bring the toy back. He may bark at new dogs until he meets/knows them. Easy on the leash and very cooperative. He needs continued house-training and supervision. He is learning quickly and already knows to ring a bell to notify someone to let him out. He was neglected with lots of mats and dirt on his coat but he was recently groomed and is adorable. More info. as we continue to learn about him.

Phoebe was rescued on 11/12/09 from Tri-City Animal Shelter. She is friendly to women, but was nervous and fearful of men and kids. At her foster home, she learned she was safe and now friendly with men she meets, but she now she is trying to be the top dog in the household even to her guardian. She will stand and beg for treats. She is leary of fast movement and may nip. She will play with dogs but she is a mighty dog at heart and a bit alpha. No cats (will chase). She needs a very experienced adult female guardian to be her kind leader and keep her from trying to be boss of the household. No sofa or bed privileges. No kids. Tank is a neutered male pug mix approximately 3 years old and weighs about 12 pounds. Tank is a handsome little dog, and he knows it! He has a beautiful, shiny black coat and very pretty tan markings. You will understand why his foster children named him “Tank” when you meet him!Tank enjoys going on walks, does very well on leash, and loves to have people admire him. He is a one or two person dog and bonds very loyally. He loves to roll over on his back and have his belly rubbed and is frequently discovered in this position in case someone is available for a rub. Tank gets along very well with children, cats and other dogs. He would prefer a household with one other small dog, or would even do well in a house where he was the only dog. Tank does not appear to like crowds and enjoys a quieter environment. He loves to follow his "people" around and is the first one up on the couch for a cuddle. He is up to date on all vaccines, is microchipped, de-fleaed and de-wormed. Tank and his sister/mother were surrendered because the owner couldn't keep them in his rented apartment. He has been in foster care since mid-April and his female companion has since been adopted. Nellie was rescued on 10/19/09 from a shelter where she was scared in her cage and was there for weeks. Once out, she is very friendly and sweet. Good with other dogs and plays. She hates the crate/cage (who can blame her) and will whine/bark when she sees you, but will settle. She sniffed the vet office cat and seem to be timid of the cat. Most likely trainable. She loves to run and zoom around. Need daily exercise and basic training. More info. to come. Nellie has been having seizures and now on medication for epilepsy. She also seems to be having neurological issues and not housetrained (she doesn't seem to be able to control it) and some rear leg problems. Due to all her medical needs, she will remain in her foster home who loves her and can care for her medical needs as a FFR Sanctuary Dog.

CoCo is approximately 9 to 11 yrs. old. She was left abandoned and tied to a pole with a note "Need new home" at a shopping center. She is a sweetheart, very friendly and loves to stick close to you. She is affectionate and gives you soft gentle kisses. She is well behaved, quiet and easy going. Walks well on leash. Ok walking near another dog, but does not want to engage. No cats since she will chase. A home as the only dog is ideal or another gentle dog that will leave her alone. She seems fine sitting next to another dog and eating treats. She would be your most devoted companion and best friend. Coco needs short vacation home with no other dogs in the household when her foster home goes on trips.

AB 241, Assemblymember Pedro Nava's the Responsible Breeder Act, co-sponsored by SCIL, is currently sitting on Governor Schwarzenegger's desk, awaiting his signature. This is a hopeful time in California for those of us concerned with mistreatment of pets, and it is your phone calls and letters that helped AB 241 come this far: If the Governor signs AB 241, it will become law on Jan 1, 2010, and the number of large puppy / pet mills in California will be dramatically reduced. If he vetoes it, we must start the entire process again next year, and the suffering of these innocent animals is prolonged. We urge you to call the Governor and let him know how important this bill is to you. Legislation limiting the number of dogs in puppy mills has already passed in Louisiana, Virginia, Oregon and Washington. It is time for California to join them. She is gentle and friendly, charming and delightful and a little timid of new environments. She is great with other dogs her size. There are other small dogs at her foster home. Chloe loves her walks & basking in the sun on the patio. She wants someone to cuddle with and she loves to snuggle with people and under blankets. She really loves to be held. AB 241, Assemblymember Pedro Nava's anti puppy mill legislation, won its vote in the Senate Public Safety Committee this morning! Senators Mark Leno, Gil Cedillo, Loni Hancock and Darrell Steinberg all voted YES. The Senators listened to the hundreds of animal lovers who called and faxed in support of this good bill. And congratulations Assemblymember Nava! Thank you for representing the vast majority of Californians who see pets as friends, not products. AB 241 will next be heard in August in the Senate Appropriations Committee. We will alert you when the time comes. Now, a more personal note. This has been a crazy week in Sacramento. AB 241 has passed Committee, while Senator Florez decided to wait until August to move SB 250 forward. Thanks so much to everyone who has called, faxed and traveled to help our pets live better lives. Once AB 241 becomes law, no one in California will be able to keep more than 50 unaltered dogs. While that may seem like a lot, in reality many puppy mills keep 500 or more unaltered dogs at one time. All too often the puppy mill breeder dogs spend their life in tiny cages, and sometimes never touch the ground for their entire life. The awful treatment of dogs in puppy mills is a direct result of the profit mentality of underground animal breeders, whether they have 5 breeder dogs or 500. They believe it is their right to breed and sell animals without any government oversight. And ironically, backyard breeders (and the groups representing them) complained all through 2007 and 2008 that legislation targeting underground breeding was misplaced and should focus only on puppy mills... but now it's those same people loudly complaining about AB 241! They now oppose ANY legislation designed to help pets, a knee-jerk reaction based on a collective paranoia that sees a conspiracy to take away breeding rights and pets behind every piece of pet legislation. If this all sounds like hyperbole just for effect, I wish it was. The number of people living off the income of their underground, backyard breeding in California is truly staggering. Before we started doing research into this a few years ago, the scope of this problem, and the millions of tax dollars stolen from our state by these people, just wasn't understood. But now, thankfully, our Legislators are starting to notice. In fact, the California Board of Equalization is now also starting to take an interest in underground breeding. The BOE is beginning to contact breeders to determine their status and see if they are paying their taxes. That's GOOD NEWS! And the breeder response? Are they stepping up, being honest citizens by finally following current breeding laws and paying taxes? Nope. They are instead frantically pulling all references to individual breeders down from breeder websites and AKC lists, in an attempt to go further underground. Shameless. The honest truth is that backyard breeders, and the hypocritical organized groups making money from their donations while pretending to care about pets, see animals as a tax-free paycheck. It's income that is easily hidden from the Government, even though current law states that anyone selling animals needs to pay sales tax and claim the income. This week Sacramento was overrun with hundreds of backyard breeders, gathering to oppose SB 250 and AB 241. It was quite a sight. Unlike you, they have plenty of time to travel to the Capital, because their day job is sitting in their house tending to puppies while waiting for the females to come into heat again. Those puppies sell for hundreds (or thousands) of dollars each, tax-free. This is a career, their tax-free livelihood, period, and they will never support truly pet-friendly legislation, because they fear that it will cost them money. It's just that simple, and it was in full display this week in Sacramento. Thank you for keeping up the fight to help pets. They need our voice! Thank you for being honest taxpayers. Thank you for treating your pets with respect, and rescuing pets instead of purchasing them. And thank you for helping stop cruel puppy mills in California! What is SB 250? -This copy taken from SCIL (Social Compassion in Legistration) SB 250 will be heard in the Assembly Appropriations Committee on Wednesday, July 15th, in room 4202 at 9:00 am in Sacramento. This is the final hearing - please come to the hearing if you can! We need your help getting through this final committee. Please call the committee members from now until next Tuesday night. Dog & cat breeders and other animal industry lobbyists (CA Cattlemen's Association, CA Farm Bureau Federation, etc.) are out in force trying to kill both SB 250 and AB 241. Don't let them do it!! Alvin (Watch my video!) was rescued from TCAS on 6/26/09. He was scared of the shelter environment. Felt better with another dog in his cage. He is a great companion dog and loves to play vigorously all day, then curl up for a restorative nap with his buddy. He loves going for walks, and is better on the leash if he's being walked with a doggy friend. He can be timid meeting new people, and needs to feel safe first. Once you spend time with him, he will happily come to you for treats and pets. Loving and friendly once he knows you. He's got a ton of energy and needs daily exercise. He's potty-trained and good with calm cats. He must have another dog in the household. Adult home only.

It also makes for a more harmonious and happy home and can be done at any age, however it is definitely critical for puppies! Puppies absorb the most in the first 6 months of their lives and training and socializing them is important in that time frame. However despite the age of any dog, training helps give us boundaries and establishes pack order in the home. As much as humans love us furry friends, we are still animals and we don't think the same or interpret signals the same way you do. One of the easiest ways to train is using the “Nothing in Life is Free (NILF)” technique. Dogs instinctively look for their “jobs” in life, many were bred to hunt, keep rats away, guard flocks, herd, etc. However the times have changed and many of us don't have to do these jobs anymore.. this can lead to doing other things, things our humans don't always want us to do, like chewing up their shoes. NILF training requires the dog to complete a task, as simple as sit, before any reward is given. The rewards can be play time, dinner, snacks & treats, etc. The dog must "work" for their rewards, this helps establish you as the leader and the dog can focus on listening to you and knowing that if he or she does listen, a reward is sure to follow! Training and socializing outside the home is just as important as with you and your family. Look into local trainers and dog day cares to see if they offer training. These classes are a great way for your dog to get to know other dogs and be comfortable around strangers and people. If you want more individualized attention look for smaller classes or private sessions, this can help you address any worries or concerns you may have about your dog with the trainer. If you want to take it a step further, I would suggest trying dog sports! Agility, flyball, dock diving are just a few of the dog sports out there. If you're new to the scene, find a trainer who will work step-by-step with you to introduce your dog to dog sports. While it may look like fun and easy, an untrained dog can sometimes injury themselves in a sport. Mom and I just finished our first class in Fly Ball and we found out there was a proper way to turn in that sport and mom had to teach me how to do it.. otherwise I risk hurting my shoulders! Some great resources can be found below: Training Classes: Training at home is great and something you should be doing regularly, however, training classes help dogs adjust to strangers and other dogs. Chewy was rescued from Hayward Shelter on 12/2/08. He is very people friendly, gentle and sweet. A little timid of new places and the camera. Once comfortable, he is spunky and a happy little guy. Loves treats and snuggling. Good with other dogs he knows at his foster home, but now that he is comforable, he has a mighty dog attitude, so he will bark and charge at other new dogs outside of his home. He needs a kind leader and very experience guardian to continue working with him to not to bark and move forward to new dogs. Once you do the introduction right, he then accepts the other new dog. He is Adorable, just hard headed. Good with cats at his foster home. Kids 14 yrs+. Only an adult should walk him to control his attitude.

Cassidy has been with her foster home since she was 3 weeks old. She lives with her foster family with two other cats and the foster's family dogs. Cassidy has grown up to be a vocal kitty, always letting everyone know when the food dish is empty by letting out a long, drawn out 'meeeeeoooooow' . As she grew into an adolescent cat from a kitten, she has lost her confidence. When the house is quiet, she will join her foster parents on the couch for some chin and back scratches. She sleeps on the bed with the foster parents and the other two cats. When elsewhere in the house, she is constantly on guard. Her nervous behavior is here to stay, but this does not take away from the enjoyment that her company and presence brings. She is still very playful, batting around her cat toys and carrying them around with her.

Hi! I am 100 percent teenage kitten, that's right, I can be a busy boy. Love to tackle your hand yet usually you don't get scratched, I may act rough but am really a gentleman. Like to take my toys into the bathtub and run around; will "help" with mopping, sweeping, making beds, and will want to help you brush your teeth. Love to cuddle under your chin while you watch TV. I am Adorable and charming and want to be your best friend forever. Great with other indoor cats. Full of personality and life. He loves to play with his toys in the bathtub, and play fetch (actually brings the toy back to me)!Angelo had been to a specialist and got confirmation of a Progressive Restrictive Cardiomyopathy and mild non-progressive cardiomyopathy. The vet could not give us any idea if and when his heart would start giving him difficulties. Vet did state that someday when it does act up there are meds that will help for awhile.

We rescued Titan from a shelter where he was running out of time, mostly due to a dog-aggressive and redirect behavioral problem. But there's something special about Titan and so we decided to put in an extra effort to help him and is responding very well with dogs on-site now. He's a beautiful dog, very affectionate and loves people. Very affectionate, loves to play ball and well behaved at home. He needs a very experienced GS person who will continue his training and exercise him daily. His trainers are willing to continue working with whomever adopts him. Pumpkin is a sweet boy who wants human companionship and would do well in a family with older children, but no other pets. He was adopted from FFR in 2002 at 3 mos old...but his family moved out of the US so Pumpkin was returned to us. He has a gentle purr that starts as soon as he's picked up...he's looking for someone who will sit with him and pet him. He loves catnip toys and feathers. Will you be his forever home?

Pumpkin was returned because her guardian passed away who adopted her. She is cat friendly medium sized cat. Right now she is very scared and will need time to adjust to a new quiet home. She is a one person cat. Need very experienced person that will give her time to adjust.

Lyndon came back to FFR after being adopted as a puppy. He lived with the same loving family his whole life, but returned due to lack of time. Lyndon has also lived with cats (young and old) all of his life, and gets along with them very well. He had surgery on both knees (anterior cruciate ligament(TPLO). He has recovered well and enjoys his walks. He is very strong and needs a strong and experienced handler. Needs to be in an only dog home. He does not get along well with other dogs and will sometimes bark at them on leash. He is currently in training with his foster home. He does best when he's in the house and will get anxious if he is left outside. He can be protective of his family at times.He would do best in a home with kids 15 +.

Darling Duke came to Furry Friend Rescue from the Oakland Shelter on Dec. 21,2005. He was adopted in Jan. 2006, but was returned on 1/2010 due to young grandchild coming over for visits, and Duke is fearful of young kids. Duke is very friendly and loves his walks. Great little doggy who loves his toys. Great with his dog buddy at home. Will empty the toy box-taking one toy at a time, pile them all up and then lay down with his head on his toys. Just adorable! He needs a quiet adult home. Kids 12 years +. No cats. He loves to be your best friend and snuggle. Update on Duke: Duke has been a very happy friendly boy at his foster home. He is so cute and talks to you. He had skin issues which is now being cleared up with vet care meds and holistic/raw food diet. 2/14/10Suddenly he lost use of his rear legs. We rushed him to the vet where he got x-rays and then had to go to Bay Area Veterinary Specialists (BAVS) to see a neurologist and needs to be hospitalized. Tomorrow, he will get a CT Scan to confirm if one of his spinal disc is the issue. If so, he will have surgery to repair his disc so he can live a normal life and walk. His surgery & medical tests/care is $4200.00 so far. Sponsorship for his surgery and vet care is greatly needed. Please help us by donate online. Thank you! 2/17/10: Duke has a herniated disc and a tumor on his kidney. We are now awaiting results of his TruCut Biopsy of the tumor for cancer. Meanwhile, he has shown improvement today and started to walk again. So he is now back home with his foster home to relax & hopefully recover til possible surgeries. Unfortunately, the biopsy shows the tumor is cancer on his kidney. He is doing well and walking again so his spinal disc is healing. He will now be a FFR Sanctuary Dog.

Beautiful Persephone is well behaved in the home, good with people she knows and knows some basic commands. She grew up with her brother. But, now grown up, she is very fearful of strangers and new dogs at first, but will settle. She needs a quiet adult home with experience in handling her when meeting or seeing other dogs and new people and helping her learn it is positive. Since she is doing so well at her foster home, she is now a sanctuary dog so she won't have to go thru another change which is terrifying for her.

Butterscotch lost his eye on a rose thorn when he was a kitten. but that doesn't stop him. He can run and play just like other cats and makes the cutest faces. He's sweet and a bit shy...and would do well in a one kitty household where he can be the center of attention. He was adopted Nov, 2005 by an elderly person who became too ill to care for him and returned him to us. He was adopted again, but months later returned him due to personal health reasons. So, he's back with us in a kind foster home who squeezed him into her home and looking for his forever home as a true family member for life. See him on YouTube!

Barney (Watch my video!) was rescued from Hayward Animal Shelter 1/7/05. He was there since 12/6/04. He was adopted but now returned to FFR June 22, 2009 because his family now has twin toddlers and no time for him. He is gentle and sensitive. Happy boy who is friendly and well behaved. He enjoys being petted on his head/body but not his rear/hind leg (he will warn/nibble). No medical reason. Behavorial. Now that is comforable at his foster home, he trusts her and no problem. He prefers not to be over-coddled. He's very frighten of the vet office and hates vet exams. Good with other dogs when he lived with 3 others. Nice to new gentle dogs. Will bark back at assertive dogs. He loves his walks to sniff and good on leash. He enjoys lounging around at home and will follow you around. Knows the doggie door. Loves treats and will sit on command. Obedient and well behaved at home. He needs a experienced Cocker Spaniel guardian with leadership and stable routine. No kids. Quiet and stable adult home. He is soulful and adorable, quirks and all.

Adrian was rescued from Hayward Shelter 8/27/04, where he was scared & shaking in the isolation ward. He was adopted in 2004 but returned in January 2009 because he is fearful of the adopter's home with visiting grand-kids (toddlers). So no young kids. He really loves to go places in the car and will even help you put on his harness. He needs a strong leader. We need a very experienced, quiet adult home for Adrian.

Darling, sweet Docker came to us on 5-5-04 from the Tracy Shelter. Docker is perhaps one of the most remarkable & amazing dogs we have ever met. He is precious and loves everyone. Docker's spine however, never developed normally and as a result, he is has no control or feeling of when he goes potty or urinates. His foster family has to diaper him as you would an infant and Docker is fine with that. He is always happy and very loved at his sanctuary home. Docker continues to see our vets for various medical conditions or needs to insure he is comforable with his lower GI issues.

Winston came to FFRescue at 10 mos. old from the Pinole Shelter in 2002. He was adopted. Fives years later, due to lack of time and new baby, they returned Winston to us. Winston is an all around happy friendly dog but also likes his quiet time at home to relax. He likes to swim but cannot be allowed to since he will get an ear infection. He is a big baby and has a phobia of getting ear drops (need vet tech to give to him) & will nip. Good with other dogs and loves/needs daily hikes/long walks/jogs. Well-behaved inside. He understands sit, stay, down and off. Experienced adult home only.

I have tons of other pictures of me! See more of my pics. Spike was adopted from us in 2002, but sadly, returned to us on 2/28/2010. He was returned because the family's 2 1/2 toddler developed severe allergies, though Spike was good with their child. He is very friendly, gentle, good with other dogs, use to live with another dog and easy going. He's treat motivated, loves lounging on his sofa and enjoys his walks. He knows all his commands and loves to play fetch. He ignored the vet office cats, but we don't know how he will be with cats in a home. He loves to cuddle and affectionate. He needs a forever home.

This absolutely gorgeous gal came to us 7-19-01. Unfortunately, due to guardian's life changes, she was returned to us on 2/27/10. Lilly is a fabulous little girl who would melt right into any family with loving children and other dogs. She is petite, so graceful, elegant and yet so playful. She is affectionate and loves to be your bestfriend. Lilly is fabulous with everyone. She is great with other dogs and cats. She is gentle and soulful. Due to being heavily matted, she was groomed and shaved down, but her coat will soon grow back more beautiful than ever!
