Everything Everywhere plans to roll-out 4G LTE mobile internet for Orange and T-Mobile customers by the end of the year, providing it gets the green light from Ofcom.
The company, which controls Orange and T-Mobile UK, has announced a new 4G test on the 1800Mhz spectrum in Bristol this April with a view to rolling out its first 4G service before 2012 is over.
The company, which is also extending its 800Mhz 4G trials in Cornwall, says that if Ofcom approves the plans by the spring then it will be ready to ...

A photograph from The Daily newspaper showing a version of Microsoft Office running on the Apple iPad is a fake, Redmond says.
In Tuesday’s edition, the iPad-only paper claimed it had gone hands-on with a working prototype, featuring Word, Excel and Powerpoint in one complete application.
The report asserted that Microsoft had completed design work on the suite, which would soon be submitted to the App Store for approval.
However, the software giant has issued a statement saying the report is inaccurate speculation, while the photograph illustrating The Daily’s report is a ...

Nokia is planning to launch at least one new smartphone with an enhanced ‘Pure View’ camera, according to a teaser video posted by the Finns on Tuesday.
The brief 22-second video shows off a host of beautiful snowy photos and suggests that all will be revealed at MWC next Monday.
The clip, named Pure View, switches between various shots showcasing what it calls Pure Depth, Pure Definition and Pure Detail.

Sony’s DR-GA500 gaming headset is quite unlike anything we’ve seen before, with a sci-fi look possibly inspired by the high-tech orbital menus found in computer games.
It’s a credit to Sony that they feel light and comfortable, too – if you don’t mind looking like you’ve got some sort of brain scanner perched on your head.
Included with the headset is a Dolby Pro Logic IIx decoder, which can be connected to either a USB port or the 3.5mm analogue outputs on your soundcard. Although connecting a decoder to your ...

Apple has written to the company which claims it owns the trademark to the iPad name in China, threatening to sue for defamation if it continues its campaign to have the tablet banned in the country.
The bankrupt Proview Shenzhen electronics company says it, not Apple has the rights to the iPad name in China.
Cupertino insists it purchased the rights from Proview back in 2009.
Proview earned a minor court victory on Friday ensuring that the tablet be pulled from select stores in China’s Guangdong province but plans to take its claims ...

Microsoft says it has discovered evidence that Google is bypassing security settings in Internet Explorer in order to track users’ movements.
The controversy comes less than a week after Google, Facebook and other advertising networks was caught circumnavigating users privacy settings on Apple’s Safari and Safari Mobile browser.
Microsoft had initially reacted to the news by trumpeting IE9s safety, but a blog post on Monday revealed its users had also fallen victim to the snooping, albeit in a slightly different way.
Stating intent

New pictures of the purported Sony Xperia U handset have emerged ahead of a potential launch at Mobile World Congress next week.
The diminutive device is shown next to the recently-unveiled Xperia S and will reportedly arrive toting a 3.5-inch WVGA display and a scaled-back 1GHz processor.
According to the snaps, the Android handset, known in some circles as the Kumquat or the ST25i, brings the same aesthetic qualities to the table, although the Sony Ericsson branding is still present.

Overview
Mechanical switches have fast become a must-have feature for gaming keyboards, and with a full set of Cherry MX Red switches beneath its rubberised keys, the MK-85 keyboard from high-end gaming specialist QPAD certainly ticks that box.
Packed into the sturdy chassis are a few other features that make the keyboard desirable too; programmable macros will spark attention from MMO gamers and actions-per-minute-obsessed Starcraft II players.
Bright orange WSAD key caps (kind of like the Corsair Memory Vengeance K60′s WSAD set) will make FPS gamers happy. And the adjustable backlighting will ...

Less than a year since its launch, the Nintendo 3DS has sold 5 million units in its native Japan.
That beats the original DS handheld console, which went on to become the best-selling console of all time.
Its sales got off to a shaky start, which concerned Nintendo at the time, and was attributed to a lack of decent games.
A high launch price of 25,000 yen also put a dent in the sales, but was slashed to 15,000 yen to encourage the buying public. Over here in the UK it went from ...
