Jury to every enslavement - dedicated to Swat victims

This is a re-blog of a post I did exactly an year ago on 21st May 2008. Back then I dedicated it to hunger, poverty and the state of poor children in Pakistan. Today, I dedicate it to the displaced people and the victims of Swat tragedy.

Instinct

With every small and single instinct there is a sign;
with every sign there's a story;

Imagination

Narration is linked to comprehension;
comprehension branches out from perception;

Pakistan's IT negligence & ignorance - a national security risk

Pakistan is well on its path to being a key player in the IT world. Whereas there are many short-comings and serious development required in areas including entrepreneurship, IT infrastructure, university research and development; but the fact remains that Pakistan produces some of the great IT minds and hosts a variety of talented people in the IT field.

More often then not we witness initiatives by the Government and civil service departments, ministries and other public institutions to what they refer as "computerization". Where as I am in complete agreement and a strong supporter of slow and steady progress but as they say, if you want to do something, do it right. This applies very vividly to our state of IT affairs when it comes to non-private (or even some private) initiatives. Databases and IT systems implemented in Government departments and spanning over national issues and data must be dealt with utmost expertise, experience, security and "care". (READ MORE...)

Hey, lets have a "TeaBreak Toolbar"!

Yesterday I was studying for the "great" Human-Computer Interaction exam next week and I came across this "idea" to build a toolbar for TeaBreak. So there I go trying to come up with a suitable toolbar that would increase productivity and engage the audience.

Considering that people are very skeptical about adding any new toolbar to their already ugly-looking browsers, it was critical that the newly envisioned TeaBreak toolbar must provide something good that doesn't already exist out there. Trying to cater that it occurred to me that it could be a good start to provide a one-click discussion and interaction solution for the Pakistani bloggers in the form of a discussion board and live chat-room easily accessible from the toolbar.

In addition to that Pakistan's news and Teabreak feeds would provide a nice value for the users to stay up to date. And because TeaBreak was initially started to provide a nice refreshing portal that the users can enjoy while taking a tea break from work, study, or their routine - I thought to throw in some entertainment options like Games and TV channels. WHAT IS A CLOUD-BASED SOFTWARE ARCHITECTURE? A cloud is a metaphor that is used to depict the notion of "Internet" and everything included in it. It includes websites, web services, protocols, machines, hosts, clients, etc. [4] Cloud computing in simple terms means to "outsource" your computing needs to other hosts or servers residing on the Internet. It is used to access services provided by other servers that can be utilized by your application. This heavily uses the Service-Oriented architecture in which software exports functionality of its components in a universally accessible way. This "sharing" of functionality is possible by means of web services that allow other software / developers to access, utilize and incorporate them in their own applications. [1]

It is important to note that "Cloud Computing" does not restrict itself to software services but it also spans over the concepts of "Platform-" and "Infrastructure-as-a-service" hence offering a comprehensive platform that not only covers functionality and software aspects but also the hardware and physical resources as well. Its quite worth-while to see and observe how this nation is being steered by what is fed to them through the media. Its like a shepherd herding a flock. Whatever happened to an individual's sense of intellectual analysis, rational and unbiased thinking is beyond comprehension!

External factors Internal factors

External factors are very well debated over various mediums. I willnot touch them. However, internal factors play an equally important role. It is undeniable that no matter what there is "something" which is attracting and supporting the growing influence of Tees. This notion is not given an ear anywhere.

Anyway, this is a very very special post. I present you a bunch of culturally rich songs from all over Pakistan. A collection of infamous songs (that nobody likes or atleast does not admit on the face of it) that are an integral part and reflect Pakistan's diverse culture. Some of them I couldnt find on YouTube but I will list them nevertheless.

But on a serious note, these songs represent a specific segment of our Pakistani culture, society and language - each; so here I am doing my end of the deal by promoting it and hoping that the world see beyond the normal takes on media these days.

I hope to depict how beautiful and culturally rich Pakistan is and how loving the young buds of this nation are at heart. Terrorism, violence and barbarism do not deem fit with the honest and innocent nature of Pakistanis; instead the harmony of colors, charm and music bring forth the true identity of this glorious nation. How can a murderer, rapist, corrupt person be equal to an honest, innocent man .. in anyway?
How can their respective votes mean the same?
