Newly announced Sony Xperia ZR smartphone is packed with high-end specs and solid hardware under the hood. As the device is officially announced, it is right time to consider that in which markets, the device will be available for sale and what will be the price tag.

Regarding its availability, you may assume that it will be available globally in different markets for sale like the high-end smartphones, Sony Xperia Z and ZL. But the Sony Xperia ZR smartphone won’t be heading to the United Kingdom, Germany and France. The reason for this unavailability in those regions is not yet known. But it can be considered that the newly announced Sony Xperia ZR may cannibalize the sales of the Sony Xperia Z and ZL smartphones in the said competitive markets specially. Hence, its unavailability in the specified regions.

The Sony Xperia ZR sports a 4.55-inch Reality display with BRAVIA Engine 2 technology, powered by 1.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon APQ8064 processor, 2GB RAM, 13 megapixel rear-facing camera with Exmor RS for mobile and HDR to capture full HD videos under the water, a front facing camera, 8GB internal storage, a microSD card slot for memory expansion support, and more. It runs Google’s Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS. The device also supports water resistant and dust resistant as the Sony Xperia Z smartphone and the Sony Xperia Tablet Z.

The Sony Xperia ZR is confirmed to be available in Hong Kong. It is expected to be available in Netherlands also. It will be offered in Black and White. Sony hasn’t announced the official pricing detail of the device yet. Further info is expected soon.

RAM is 2GB and internal storage is 8GB which may be expandable via a microSD slot.

Brief Specs of the BlackBerry R10:
# 3.1-inch display, 720 x 720 resolution
# QWERTY keyboard
# 5MP rear camera, front camera
# 2GB of RAM
# 8GB internal storage
# 2180 mAh non-removable Battery

Further specs of the device may be revealed in the coming months. The availability details of the BlackBerry R10 will be updated as soon as possible when there is any further report regarding the release date.

Several mobile manufacturers already announced back in March that different devices powered by a low-cost quad-core MediaTek chipset will be introduced very soon. Sony Mobile already announced that it will be introducing a 5-inch entry level handset powered by the chipset in the third quarter of this year. Lenovo is also one the manufacturers to use the chipset. A 5.3-inch Lenovo S920 smartphone equipped with MediaTek’s Quad-core MT6589 processor clocked at 1.2GHz is already up for sale on Lenovo’s official website in China. This is not the only smartphone equipped with the chipset that Lenovo is planning to introduce in the market.

Today, Lenovo Mobile Communication Technology has officially announced the Lenovo P780 smartphone which is also powered by MediaTek MT6589 processor. The smartphone will be running Goggle’s Android 4.2 Jelly Bean flavor operating system out of the box.

The 5.0-inch Lenovo P780 smartphone will sport a high definition display with a 720×1280 pixels of resolution and the 8-megapixel camera with CMOS image sensor on the rear of the device will also be an alluring feature of the smartphone. Capacity of internal storage is 8GB along with 1GB of RAM. The internal storage of the smartphone will apparently be expandable via microSD slot up to 32GB or 64GB but the manufacturer hasn’t officially confirmed regarding the expansion slot.

Besides the aforementioned technical features, one more mind blowing feature is that the Lenovo P780 supports a large capacity 4000mAh battery.

The Lenovo P780 will be compatible with W-CDMA/GSM networks and it is expected to be launched in China in last week of this month.

Samsung has just announced it has launched the new Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 tablet, a 7-inch Android tablet that will be priced aggressively at an affordable price tag. We’ve been hearing about the Galaxy Tab 3 series of tablets since early this year. This is a new tablet that comes with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out of the box, and offers full-support for Google Play and the full-sledged Android eco-system. It has got resemblance to the Galaxy S4 handset’s design (which is also made by Samsung).

It touts a 7-inch TFT display with 1024 x 600 pixels of resolution, which is in the low-end of the display spectrum. There’s a couple of cameras on each side. Samsung is offering it in Wi-Fi version, and 3G version with voice call capability.

Here’s the full list of the highlights of the Galaxy Tab 3 7.0:

# 7-inch TFT WSCGA display at 169 PPI
# 1.2GHz dual-core processor
# 1GB of RAM
# 3 megapixel rear-facing camera
# 1.3 megapixel front-facing shooter
# 8/16GB internal memory storage with memory expansion support via microSD card slot (64GB max)
# micro USB 2.0, dual-band Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0, GPS
# Samsung Hub
# 1400mAh battery
# Dimensions: 111.1 x 188.0 x 9.9mm; Weight: 302g(Wi-Fi), 306g (3G)

It’s worth noting that design-wise, this is a big-sized cousin of the famous Galaxy S4, which has launched in the United States a couple of days ago. Samsung has planned to release the Wi-Fi variant of the Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 in early May, while the 3G version will start hitting the stores in May. There’s no word on the price info of the device yet.
