We have reported on Case-Mate before, and they make cases for a lot of mobile gadgets. A few months ago, we reported on Case-Mate’s contribution to the iPad 2.

It would appear that Case-Mate is trying to be current, and they might have jumped the gun. Case-Mate accidentally posted their cases for the iPhone 5 earlier today, even though the official announcement won’t be until mid-October. As you might have guessed, the company took the page with the new cases down. I can imagine the panic attack that the Case-Mate execs had after they learned that the posts for the iPhone 5 cases had gone live.

I can testify to the quality of Case-Mate’s products, and something tells me what happened was a simple mistake. I hope it isn’t a deliberate leak like I have been suspecting lately with iPhone prototypes.

I’m guessing that the Case-Mate catalog programmers were prepping for the October release, and accidentally hit the “Publish” button when they should have hit the “Save as Draft” button. It happens to bloggers all the time, believe me.

You know that times are extremely hard these days especially on the economic front, and it makes perfect sense for us to look out for value-for-money bargains. HDTVs are dime a dozen in the market, and with more and more players entering the game, the industry has gotten a whole lot more competitive. Well, Sceptre is one of those names, and they have decided to grace the market with they spanking new 32? LED HDTV model that will cater for the entry-level niche.

Also known as the Scpetre E325BV-HD, it has been touted to be the ideal companion in your living room – assuming you’re still using one of those fat, chunky CRTs or want to introduce yet another TV to your home. At least it isn’t that large so much so that it cannot fit into a cramped apartment without looking out of place.

This particular Sceptre model will come in an ultra light chassis that tips the scales at just 20 pounds with its stand included, but despite that, it will not compromise on performance as it delivers a flicker and static free 31.5? LED display in 1,366 x 768 resolution glory alongside a response time of 6.5ms – reasonable enough, but you can be sure that there are far quicker models out there in the market. At the very least it can swivel up to 30 degrees, where it can be detached at the neck and base if you so desire in order to mount it onto a wall, making it even passable as a computer monitor or digital signage if the need arises.

As per the reports, the iPhone 5 will feature quad-core qualcom processor and boast even larger than four-inches and different form from previous model. The final specifications of iPhone haven’t been revealed and the company has not yet decided with its plenty of prototypes, which all possess varying display size not under four-inch and new ergonomics. This one is an actual bummer. It was being sold well on par with 16GB and 32GB. So having the iPhone also means having a smartphone with large memory capacity. The iPhone 5 specifications might very well include 64GB versions to.

If iPhone 5 makes use of this technology, then fuse this with high resolution retina display and we have the killer device. The company is not only restricting the use of this technology to iPad 3 and iPhone 5, but Time Capsules, Notebook range and Apple TV will also employ this technology. One of the main competitions between Apple smartphones running iOS and Samsung smartphones running Android is the processor each boasts of. The A5 has beaten most Android supporting processors, which other firms have come up with, but as per certain rumors, the company could be one-upping the race with better-than-A6, all-new quad-core processor.

Thin is still in where digital cameras are concerned, and while we took a look at a couple of shooters from Panasonic yesterday, Sony too, did not want to lose out on the game, and the Japanese consumer electronics manufacturer has just added yet another model to the ultra-thin Cyber-shot T series – with the model number DSC-TX200V. You might want to look into expanding that external storage space collection of yours if you happen to pick up the new TX200V camera though, considering it is capable of shooting 18.2-megapixel images thanks to its “Exmor R” CMOS sensor.

This would clearly place the Sony DSC-TX200V as the highest-resolution digital camera that is currently on offer in the “point and shoot” market segment, and when coupled with the spanking new BIONZ processor, both of them will work in tandem to create images as well as video files with extremely low noise.

Just what else do you expect the Sony DSC-TX200V to carry? This advanced model is also tipped to deliver lightning-fast AutoFocus speeds of approximately 0.13 seconds in daytime and 0.25 seconds in low-light situations. Bear in mind that the speeds quoted are just on paper, when in real life, they might vary depending on shooting conditions. With such shooting speeds, they will more or less ensure you are able to capture the right moment at all times.

Not only that, the TX200V Cyber-shot will also look good externally, as it comes with a new and beautiful, reinforced glass design which encases a large, 3.3? Xtra Fine TruBlack OLED wide touch-screen display. Want to bring this with you on your next watersports adventure? Not to worry – considering this is water-proof (up to 5m or approx.16 feet), and I am quite sure that also, to a certain amount of time.

Nikon is back with yet another digital camera for the mass market, pushing out its Coolpix L810 shooter this time around. Just what does the L810 have in terms of improved performance over its predecessors? For starters, it will come with a CCD image sensor that has an effective pixel count of 16.1-million pixels, in addition to a 26x optical zoom NIKKOR lens which is capable of covering angles of view from the wide-angle 22.5 to super telephoto 585 mm (equivalent in 35-mm format), and a new lens-shift vibration reduction (VR) function.

Despite all of those capabilities, the Coolpix L810 will still deliver the same form factor that will be able to support a firm, steady grip and side zoom control which has become the signature physical format for its predecessors, delivering high performance without a second thought.

Never mind the relatively compact size, the L810 will still be able to boast of a CCD image sensor that has an effective pixel count of 16.1-million pixels for superior image quality and a 26x optical zoom NIKKOR lens which will cover a wide range of angles of view from 22.5 to 585 mm (both equivalent in 35-mm format). This alone will make shooting the entire lot of everyday scenes a snap, from wide-angle landscapes to close-ups of people using zoom. The firm and comfortable grip that we mentioned about earlier will also be able to support operation using both hands so that you have a steadier grip on the camera, helping reduce camera shake in the process.

The famous 5.25? floppy – single-sided or double-sided, sir? Imagine swapping such disks when playing games, and installation proved to be a pain when you have seven, nay, eight of these floppies to go through. 3.5? floppies were far sturdier and less prone to damage, so why not usher in a modern interpretation of a retro device? The £26.99 USB Floppy Disk Drive is as what it says – all you need to do is plug this into any available USB port, and it is capable of transferring all 1.44MB of data on a 3.5? floppy disk over to your computer. Pretty pointless actually, and in this day and age, probably the only things you can carry around on the floppy would be a couple of sized down images and perhaps a text file or two.

If you are one who basks in nostalgia, and would love to hear the sounds that come from a floppy disk drive of old being read, then this is it. Otherwise, it would still make for a great conversation starter, and there is even the classic LED which lights up when plugged in to indicate power, read and write activity.

Superlatives are often used to describe a particular product or device in order to have it stand out from the rest of the crowd – and the Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS20 is one of them, where the Japanese manufacturer has proudly proclaimed this as “the world’s slimmest digital camera with a 20x optical zoom lens” – measuring a mere 1.1? thin compared to its rivals in the market. The Lumix ZX20 will tote around a powerful zoom, a 24mm ultra wide-angle LEICA DC VARIO-ELMAR lens and the ability to shoot full-High Definition (HD), making it a formidable choice if you are in the market and on the lookout for a spanking new digital camera.

The reason it can be this slim is due to the newly-redesigned lens system, where the Lumix ZS20 will carry a new mechanical structure and optical system that is said to further improve image quality as well as getting the help of Nano Surface Coating technology. More on the camera right after the jump.

Another feature that you might find interesting would be the built-in GPS functionality, hence making life far easier for you to pinpoint the various locations where you shot those photos earlier, sharing them with family and friends on an Internet map. Additionally, you can also install map data onto the Lumix ZS20 thanks to the included DVD, enabling the camera to enjoy detailed worldwide maps of major regions on a scale of 1/25,000 or more precise. All map data of a designated city can be copied over to an SDXC/SDHC/SD memory card for quick geographic information access.

Other hardware specifications include a 14.1-megapixel sensor, their advanced image processor known as the Venus Engine, Full HD video recording capability at 1,920 x 1,080 resolution, a powerful 20x optical zoom with 2-step Zoom function, an Auto Wind Cut function which reduces wind background noise whenever you record a video to makr voices clearer, while mechanical noise that is caused by zooming remains suppressed to improve overall video sound quality.

Samsung SCX-4500 is a mono multifunction device and a unique thing about this printer is that it is really attractive. Manufacturers usually don’t make beautiful printers and hence this was a welcome change that I saw in my labs. The feature set of this printer is very basic though. I haven’t reviewed any mono laser multifunction devices between $250 to $350 and hence I will make comparisons only to the more expensive devices. The cost of this device is $300 but I would recommend you to spend a bit more and go for the $400 more expensive printers because they have good feature set to offer for this price bump.

For instance, there is the Canon ImageClass MF4690 which costs $400 and comes with automatic document feeder, manual feed tray, fax capabilities, USB port (front-mounted) that can be used for printing and scanning, built-in duplexer, and Ethernet port for easy networking – all this just for $100 more. Samsung SCX-4500 is alluring but still you must know about the things that you don’t get.

In my lab tests, the Samsung SCX-4500 was slower than other multifunction devices in the competition which is not really surprising considering that it is $100 cheaper. Black text was printed at 13.05 ppm or pages per minute. It is one ppm slower than Canon MF4690 and much slower than the Dell 1815dn and the Lexmark X342n.

When it comes to the world of tablets, only two behemoths on the operating system front rule – Apple with their iPad range, and Google’s Android ecosystem that has seen (safe to say) hundreds of tablets hit the market already, with no signs of abating anytime soon. LG, who has churned out its fair share of Android-powered smartphones in the past (and even a 3D-capable handset), continues to explore the possibilities of Android on a tablet – hence rolling out their first LTE-capable tablet which is known as the Optimus Pad LTE.

Originally launched in South Korea, LG throws in LTE technology and a True HD IPS display that is guaranteed to wow whoever looks at it, and these are the the two features which have assisted LG in differentiating its latest smartphone, the Optimus LTE, from the rest of the competition.

The LG Optimus Pad LTE will come with a 1280 x 720 True HD IPS display that is more or less guaranteed to wow whoever looks at it for the first time, and that display also works great in displaying your creativity as you snap photos of your surroundings with the 8-megapixel camera located at the back. This camera too, can shoot high definition video for posterity. Not only that, the Optimus Pad LTE is proud to be the world’s first tablet that supports an SD memory card of up to 32GB in size, so you need not worry about storage space. Other features include Android 3.2 Honeycomb as the operating system of choice, a 2-megapixel camera in front, and a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, all crammed into a body which measures a mere 9.34mm slim and tipping the scales at 479 grams.

Apple wants to change the way we look at the education system, by announcing iBooks 2 for the iPad. What does iBooks 2 bring to the table? For starters, it will obviously feature iBooks textbooks, which is a totally new kind of textbook that intends to make learning far more dynamic, engaging and truly interactive. With the iPad’s display, iBooks textbooks are said to offer students gorgeous, fullscreen textbooks complete with interactive animations, diagrams, photos, videos, and unrivaled navigation among others.

Not only that, you need not worry about your textbook being out of date, since this is digital content that we are talking about, iBooks will ensure that its collection of textbooks will remain up to date at all times, and even better is the fact that you need not lug around a really heavy backpack unlike your now-graduated seniors have experienced. Apple has a penchant for wanting the best always, and this has caused them to team up with leading education services companies such as Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, McGraw-Hill and Pearson in order to bring educational titles on the iBookstore.

As not all students are a privileged lot and most of them do learn how to operate on a shoestring budget each month, most of the textbooks are priced at $14.99 or less – leaving you with more money left at the end of the month to blow it on a really nice meal, or stash away for a rainy day. Not only that, the new iBooks Author is a free authoring tool that allows anyone with a Mac to come up with their own iBooks textbooks.

AOC has unveiled its latest 23? flicker-free 3D monitor that will play nice with desktop computers as well as gaming consoles, it really depends on which is your “gaming poison” of choice, while sporting the latest FPR 3D technology without breaking the $300 mark. AOC’s e2352Phz comes in the form of a slim high-definition 23? monitor, and as mentioned earlier, the FPR 3D technology utilized is able to display bright, crisp and vivid 3D images, all the while making sure that eye fatigue and dizziness are a thing of the past as this is no conventional 3D display.

The e2352Phz is a snap to set up, thanks to its plug-and-play connectivity to virtually any computer, and with a HDMI 1.4a input, it is more than ready to take on the latest consumer electronic devices such as 3D Blu-ray players and gaming consoles like the PS3 and Xbox 360 to deliver 3D video and sound without missing a beat.

Retailing for $299 a pop, the flicker-free FPR 3D technology used in the monitor means you can enjoy 3D images and video for longer periods on end without having to wipe away tears from your eyes not because of the touching scene where Jack gives up his life for the woman he loves with the sinking Titanic in the background, but due to eye fatigue. Each purchase of the AOC e2352Phz will also be accompanied by two pairs of lightweight and comfortable passive polarized glasses, and even better news is these pairs can also be used with any other FPR 3D television or display. Being crosstalk-free also translates to more crisp and clear 3D images instead of those that are blurred.

Das Keyboard, a renowned keyboard manufacturing company, which specializes in clicky mechanical keyboards such as IBM Model M and Apple Extended Keyboard, has released the Mac Edition of Model S Professional keyboard. The keyboards of Das are favorites of plenty of PC users like Arnold Kim, Chief of MacRumors. The all new keyboard for Macintosh is similar to that of Model S, which has been marketed by Das Keyboard, however with appropriate command.

CNET gave Model S Professional four star rating praising its satisfying clack and tactile feel and noting that power typists will find nostalgia, comfort and utility in this all new keyboard’s springboard performance and sleek design. The Model S Professional brings back same mechanical key switches, providing audible and tactile feedback, which might even enhance the typing accuracy and speed.

Das Keyboard is basically a series of premium computer keyboards marketed by Metadot Corporation, the open source software company situated in Austin, Texas. Their most unique feature has been the lack of key labels that is the keys themselves are both completely blank and black, thus allegedly helping to enhance touch typing skills.

Time for another tech trend that I have noticed the last time I reported on the Miveu.

The trend is turning the iPhone into an action camera, like the GoPro or other similar models. This one by Optrix is designed to be a durable frame for the iPhone/iPod Touch into a camera, and clip to a bike so you have access to the iPhone itself.

Because of the Optrix, you will be able to shoot with the iPhone 4S’s full 1080p HD. Thanks to the new optics that can allow more light and video stabilization, your videos will be less shaky than most “extreme” videos. By the way, the case is water resistant so you can take some water, snow, or wherever you are filming.

The Optrix HD has a protective touchscreen membrane, which is only 0.5 mm thick and allows you to take control of your applications. The big bonus is that you can actually see what you are filming, unlike other cameras where you see an indicator light and edit out the bad footage later.

The Optrix is a POV camera that allows the user to do playback, edit, and share videos directly from the site. The company claims that they are the only one that can do that, and they also claim that their new application can make the Optrix HD “the most powerful POV device on the market”.

One look at the device and you will be forgiven for thinking it is a toy. It is really small and has a 3-inch screen. The entire device is no bigger than the palm of your hand. It is, however, thick and feels extremely well built. Despite the good build the device is really light, weighing 100gms.

The review unit we received was black in colour but the device is available in pink and white as well. The body of the device has a matte finish which is great as it avoids the device from becoming a fingerprint magnet. The touch screen however registers fingerprints very evidently.

The reason the device is a little thick is because it has a slide out QWERTY keypad. The slider on the device is quite sturdy. It also has a distinct click every time you slide it open or shut. The backlit keys rest on a matte-finished silver surface. The keys may appear to be small at first and they are but you eventually get used to typing on them. The rear of the device has a plastic back that can be ripped open to reveal the battery slot.

The rear also houses the 3.2MP fixed focus camera. There is just one physical button under the screen i.e. the home button. The right panel houses the volume rocker and a dedicated camera button. The top of the device has the on/off/lock button along with the 3.5mm headphones jack. The micro USB port rests here as well. This port can be used to transfer data to the device as well as charge the phone. All-in-all, the hardware and styling of the device can be a true eye candy amongst your friends.

Listen, and I’ll tell you the story of the bookstore chain that stormed into the hottest category in consumer electronics and conquered.

Talking about this tablet then let me tell you it is one of the best tablets known in the market. This is just not good because of its features but because of its look as well. You can see the above picture, its look is really very stylish and dashing.

But that was fiction. Barnes & Noble Inc.’s new Nook Tablet ($249) is a solid product, worthy of duking it out with Amazon.com Inc.’s Kindle Fire. Considering that the Nook comes from a desert planet where the only entertainment was shooting womp rats (Sorry, I mean “from a bookstore chain.”), it’s really impressive.

But the Nook doesn’t quite muster enough force to blow up a Death Star. Barnes & Noble’s earlier Nooks were dedicated book-reading devices, and the Tablet is at most a half-way step into the world of general-purpose tablet computing.

Like the new Kindle Fire, the Tablet has a 7-inch, touch-sensitive color screen, about half the size of the iPad’s. It’s the same screen as on the Nook Color, the e-reader Barnes & Noble launched a year ago. I thought it was the best e-reader yet when it launched.

The Tablet improves on the Nook Color mainly by beefing up the processor and the memory and extending the battery life to 11.5 hours of reading, or 9 hours of video.

The Tablet also has improved software, but the Color will be getting the same software through a downloadable update.

The Tablet is debuting with Netflix and Hulu applications. Coupled with the nice, sharp screen, that makes for a good device for that TV and movie fix -as long as you’re connected to Wi-Fi. The apps actually highlight one of the shortcomings of the Tablet: there’s no way (short of hacking the software) to use it for offline viewing of movies you buy or rent.
