At first glance, there is no visible difference between the 2012 and 2013 MacBook Air. They look the same, weigh the same and have the same screens, keyboard, trackpad and ports.  But there are a lot of differences that you can’t see, but can experience. Both are slim and light. The 11-inch model weighs 2.38 pounds and the 13-inch model I’m testing weighs 2.96 pounds.

13-inch MacBook Air:

This 13-inch MacBook Air maintains its wedge-shaped profile, a maximum of 0.68 inch thick at the back tapering down to a 0.11-inch terminal edge at the front. It’s 12.8 inches wide, 8.9 inches deep and weighs just a hair under three pounds (1.35 kg). These specs were nothing short of amazing a few years back, but today, devices like the Samsung Series 9 and Sony VAIO Pro 13 manage to be even thinner and even lighter.

Neither the keyboard nor the trackpad have changed this year, but the keyboard is advanced to smooth typing while the design remains the same. In short, its typing is great and better than the previous ones.

A great-looking LCD, making the most of its 1,440 x 900 resolution. Viewing angles are as good as ever and brightness does not disappoint. Color reproduction is spot-on and the LED backlighting is both good for your battery and the environment. The Macbook Air’s built-in speakers are capable of getting impressively (and uncomfortably) loud if cranked all the way, so hearing a concall from across a room won’t be an issue.

11-inch Macbook Air:

The 11-inch Air doesn’t make any compromises: it’s practically the same machine as the larger 13-inch Air, from the processors to the integrated graphics to RAM and SSD storage options. All you’re losing is the smaller screen, an SD card slot and less battery life.

Cosmetically, 11-inch Air is identical to last year’s version: same aluminum unibody construction, same ports, same 1,366×768-pixel 11.6-inch display, same keyboard and clickable trackpad.

Air is still one of the best-feeling laptops, all-around, that exists. But, it’s no longer a cutting-edge design. It is, however, a nearly perfect one for standard laptop use. Keep in mind, Apple doesn’t tend to make sweeping design changes to its products every year…or even every three years.

Apple claims the new SSD technology in these Airs offers significant speed improvements over last year’s model. Intel’s new fourth-gen Core i5 and i7 processors are geared toward ultrabooks, setting things up perfectly for the Air. Indeed, the 9-hour and 12-hour battery life claims on the new Airs are a big step up from the 5- and 7-hour battery results we got when we reviewed last year’s models.

Price difference between 11-inch & 13-inch MacBook Air:

The 11-inch MacBook Air will cost you $999 while the 13-inch MacBook Air will cost you $1099, which makes it the most cheapest MacBook of all time.

LG will launch this smartphone by this month in Russia, LG Optimus L4 II is powered by a MediaTek 1GHz single core processor and feature 512MB of RAM, there is also 4GB of built in storage plus a microSD card slot for added storage.

Other salient features are 3 megapixel rear camera with a flash, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and a 1700 mAh battery, HSDPA, Bluetooth 3.0, GPS and WiFi.

The LG Optimus L4 II will retail for 5,490 RUB  ($172).

Jiah’s sisters, accuses Suraj of abusing Jiah physically and mentally. While many of us out there are pitying Jiah and expressing fury towards Suraj, here is a new perspective on the whole matter, that has gone viral on the web. This note by Mahesh Murthy has got many of us thinking again.

“ So this note is likely to piss off many of you, but still. Can someone tell me why exactly Jiah Khan’s ex-boyfriend is being blamed for her suicide?

So it’s the usual story. Boy meets girl, they fall in love, they are happy, then they break up. Then he sees someone else.

At which point over-wrought girl decides her life isn’t worth living. Seriously – this is a 25-year old who co-starred with Aamir Khan in a hit film and then later thinks her life is value-less without the continuing attention of some unemployed star-kid?! How the heck was she brought up? What kind of foolish adult mind thinks that someone else’s attention is so important that her own life pales in comparison? How dare her parents blame her ex for this ridiculous state of mind? Who gave her these values where “death before losing in love” is a virtue?

So she writes a latter saying she had an abortion when she got pregnant, presumably by him – again, no one told her about contraception? And even if they decided to forswear protection – it’s his fault she got pregnant? Wasn’t she equally part of it?

So yes, she had an abortion, she set her mind to have him, but he moved on after they mutually broke up – but she wanted him back, and he said no, so she took her life?

Of course we mourn for her.

But why would we – and the police – blame the idiot star kid who was her ex-boyfriend? I hear it’s on the charge of abetting suicide. Really? You mean if two people are together, and one wants to marry the other, and the other refuses, and then the first one commits suicide, then the other has abetted it? What rot.

So now after seeing this news play out, we have a nation of unstable 25-year olds going around forcing their partners into matrimony at the gunpoint of “do it or I’ll commit suicide and you’ll go to jail like Aditya Pancholi’s son”?

What about it being the other way around? Perhaps more like blackmail – “Marry me, or I’ll commit suicide?” And would that not be equally valid a crime?

So what’s a guy to do if he doesn’t want to marry a girl? Or vice versa actually. Report to the cops when he’s been proposed to? Take anticipatory bail before he says “No, I don’t want to marry you”? Call the counselling lines so they make outbound calls to the partner in advance of him saying no? Or in this case, even involve a bigger star, Salman Khan, who oversees their apparently amicable separation? And even then go to jail after all these precautionary measures?

Look, there’s no escaping the fact that a life lost is a terrible, terrible thing. But blaming the ex-boyfriend or ex-girlfriend for one’s lack of motivation to live when a relationship breaks is not the other’s fault. It’s your own.

No one grows up with a right to be loved. It’s a privilege you earn for yourself. It doesn’t come naturally. You earn it. And very often, love comes. And love goes. And love comes back. And goes again. And so on.

And, yes, sorry to break it to you but there is no one-man-one-woman-walking-into-the-sunset-together-forever Mills & Boon bullshit that happens either. If your parents or your convent schools or some M&B you read or a chick flick or a YashRaj or KJo film told you that it is the way and it will happen to you – please understand that those are pretty unreliable sources. For starters, it didn’t happen to the authors of such propaganda: the nuns and KJo are still single. The apparent importance of marriage is just propaganda – and you’re better off not depending on it. If it happens, cool. And if it doesn’t, that should be cool too.

Perhaps the best thing we can do as individuals and parents is tell the kids around that marriage isn’t the ultimate goal. It isn’t even an intermediate goal. Or even a tiny goal. Screw the TBZ ads and the whitening cream commercials. Ignore Chetan Bhagat and Shaadi.com. Marriage is downright unimportant in the overall course of things.

In India, you don’t need to be married to have a child legally. Or even to inherit and pass on property. Marriage is just a social custom where a bunch of old people shower rice on your head and believe they’re giving you their permission (or direction, in some cases) to sleep with someone. As you can imagine, it has little or no legal necessity or significance.

What is important is planning to live a full life for yourself, and working to make all your dreams come true – regardless of whether you have a partner with you for the course.

Sure, it’s more fun when you have a lover around. But not having one around isn’t a show-stopper. Life is compulsory. Marriage is an optional extra. Let’s tell the kids that.

Oh, and while we’re at it, can we please stop blaming that poor Pancholi kid for Jiah Khan’s suicide? Let’s stop the witch hunt. Get him out of jail.

And let’s stop glorifying suicide in the name of unrequited love.”

You would be thinking that how could Samsung bring an bring an end to Sony, Samsung has just announced the launch of the Galaxy S4 Zoom a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera with 10x optical zoom.

Samsung S4 with Jelly Bean 4.2, combines the features of the GALAXY S4 smartphone with advanced photographic capabilities, with a new feature Zoom Ring which allows a user to capture an image even while during a call. This feature also let the user to activate the Quick Launch and Shortcut features, giving you instant access to multiple camera modes including Auto and Smart Mode.

According to Samsung Official Announcement:

“When you’re in the middle of a phone call and you see something you absolutely have to share, a quick twist of the Zoom Ring will activate the In-Call Photo Share feature, letting you capture and send an image directly via MMS to whoever you are talking to simply.”

According to reports, the built-in Optical Image Stabilizer (OIS) keeps the camera still enhancing the stability features of the images and videos.

A new feature called Photo Suggest added to this smartphone make it more special by connecting a user to libraries of images taken by fellow photographers and will even direct you to the ideal nearby location.

The study examined children between the ages of 13 and 17 over a period of five years.

Dr. Kathy Sanford said:

“I found that the participants were very concerned about ethical and moral decisions, about the nature of what they are doing in the game.”

“They have to negotiate with team-members and understand strengths and weaknesses and working with others. Players report a lot more happening than randomly going around shooting people.”

According to some previous researches, violence (killing, crime, fighting, sex) in video games can be harmful to children but Sanford disagree with this and her findings say: “Players talk about how it makes them feel when they do something that has negative consequences for people. It makes them feel bad and they don’t like feeling bad.”

According to a report by Australian Business Traveller, the prototype (known as Bag2Go) utilizes a GPS-tracker, a 2G mobile connection, and an RFID chip to record its whereabouts, allowing airports to pair its unique ID with handling systems and log it against its owner’s travel itinerary.  An  iPhone app which is specially designed for the tracking, collects the data from Airport systems and displays the case’s location, alerting the owner when it has been opened.

This application will also help the owners to check the weight of their luggage using scales built into the handle.

Bag2Go is also launching a door-to-door service which would pick up the case from the owner’s home and deliver it to the airport, check it in, and then take it to their destination.

According to sources, Jiah Khan hung herself at her flat in Sagar Tarang apartment in Juhu in Mumbai.

“She had been depressed for some time due to personal issues, but was keen on returning to acting soon. She was also meeting filmmakers regarding projects,” sources close to the actress added.

She is mostly known for her role in the Nishabd (Nominated, Filmfare Best Female Debut Award), Ghajini  and Housefull.

Actress Dia Mirza reportedly broke the news of Jiah’s death on Twitter. Other actor and actresses also feel sad on this incident.

Jiah was brought up in England and had shifted to Mumbai recently to act in Hindi films.

”I would just like to give you a flavor of the egregiousness of the alleged behavior, which took place at the highest levels of these publishing companies.”

“Amazon screwed it up. It paid the wholesale price for some books, but started selling them below cost at $9.99. The publishers hated that — they thought it would trash their ability to sell hardcover books at $28. So before Apple even got on the scene, some booksellers were starting to withhold books from Amazon. So we told the publishers, ‘We’ll go to the agency model, where you set the price, and we get our 30%, and yes, the customer pays a little more, but that’s what you want anyway.’ But we also asked for a guarantee that if anybody else is selling the books cheaper than we are, then we can sell them at the lower price too. So they went to Amazon and said, ‘You’re going to sign an agency contract or we’re not going to give you the books.’”
