Kind of good to be home.

It’s definitely good to be home. I’ve even enjoyed the fact that I’ve had a sick kid and I can’t work. Lots of laying around, leisurely unpacking and cleaning and no guilt because I’m not working like a dog.

However.

Now I’m on to sick kid number two and while I’m not feeling guilty about not being able to work, there are things that I want to get done!

So, while the six year old female child liked cheesey Disney sit coms, the eight year old male child likes the Cartoon Network. I don’t think I’m going to be able snuggle up and watch a day of Chum Chum and Fan Boy or Tom and Jerry. I’m happy that it keeps him occupied and distracted from the tummy ache though.

Did I just hear that?

This is what I find on my phone when I sleep a little late in the morning.

Reverse psychology with a six year old.

Most of the time the six year old is great entertainment. Other times, she is a good lesson for me in self-control. As in, I want to backhand her but I know that’s not appropriate.

ME: Would you get me a hair band?

6YO: I don’t know where they are.

ME: On my nightstand in the glass bowl.

6YO: It’s not my job.

ME: Ok. Never mind. (trying the reverse psychology thing).

6YO: What’s in it for me?

ME: Knowing that you helped someone.

6YO: (Standing there. Thinking).

ME: Never mind. Don’t worry about it. (more reverse psychology).

6YO: (walks away).

I guess reverse psychology doesn’t work on this one.
