This is a dictionary that combines all the known Bookbinding

and Conservation terms in English, German, French, Dutch, Spanish,

Swedish, Italian and Danish all in one place.

This wonderful reference was drawn up by Suzy Morgan

of Digital Cellulose and Peter Verheyen of Philobiblon.

as commercial projects and are absolutely free.

There are 103 pages which include watercolor or rust.

Plants too.

There is metal.

Patina and splashes of paint.

This was just a small sample of what is available.

Can´t decide on what your resolution or goal should

be for 2012?

Allow me to make a few suggestions.

Maybe the following will help you decide.

you could be more inquisitive or ask

yourself "what if" more often in 2012

you could make a lifestyle change and decide to

eat more healthfully in 2012

you could decide that you are ready to take more

chances or risks on the job in 2012

perhaps you could be more willing to explore unknown

territory in 2012

you could definitely find more time to dance

in 2012

or opt to take more time to reflect and savor

life´s moments in 2012

you could make yourself available when

someone needs a boost

in 2012

you could play dress ups more often in 2012

you could also decide to send out more joy in 2012

or is it more rest or sleep that you need in 2012

you could stretch your limits or find new interests

in 2012

or vow to stay at home and clean out your closets

more often in 2012

how does going to the playground more often in

2012 sound to you

or telling your boss you are out to lunch and head to

the beach more often in 2012

in 2012 you could trust your instincts more often

and when you smell a good thing....

go for it

you could turn up the music REALLY LOUD and

Is it Snowing Yet?

Where is all the snow?

It seems strange that I have not yet had to

shovel my driveway and it is December.

December and almost Christmas...and no

snow in sight. I had to add some snowflakes

to these cards in glimmery, glitzy metallic inks.

I wonder if we will have a white Christmas this year.

How much snow have you had so far?

Tangerine Tango

Dance into the New Year with Pantone´s Color of the

Year 2012,,,Tangerine Tango.

Not only does it have a snazzy name but it looks great too.

Start the year off on the bright side.

Full of energy....vivacious and appealing.

Apartment Therapy already decorated some rooms.

I find all shades of orange so uplifting and happy.

Pantone shows some beautiful shades in their announcement.

Silence is Golden

I do not fancy driving in or shoveling snow but I sure love

the scenery it makes. I spent the week making some of my

snowscene watercolors into winter cards.

I love cold weather and being out in a forest covered with snow.

I was even painting these winter forests back in June already.

A sunny autumn day at the local market.

Saving my whites in watercolor.

Adding more colors and defining my objects.

After this was posted to Blogger I see the horrific glare from

my scanner.....yikes! I hope you had your sunglasses on when

viewing...but saving whites in watercolor will blind you sometimes.

I can´t get enough cacti. Here is another one

Snail Mail,,What´s That?

She obviously doesn´t remember what it is like to

receive a letter from a friend or maybe she doesn´t like

to send greeting cards. I think she has an attitude problem,,

don´t you?

Maybe we should all send her a get well card so she snaps

out of it,,,what do you think?

Hearts

A simple watercolor heart.

My coffee break is over and I am trying to

adjust to the weather and time zone here

back home so I just started painting some

hearts and other doodles today.

I added a metal heart on this one.

The row of little red hearts were made with

a heart shaped punch and colored on the

inside of the card.

Anyone interested in learning about watercolor might want

to visit his website as he offers a FREE watercolor course.

All you have to do is register.

He covers everything from beginning techniques to full

length projects. There are even videos where you can

watch him work his magic.

household chores.

Pretty Birds

I was lucky enough to win this piece from

Jessie Lilac. ...so whimsical and colorful.

This piece makes me happy.

This is how Jessie announced the winner on her blog.

Such a sweet girl holding MY prize.

Jessie even enclosed this little fox postcard for me.

The fox and the pretty birds now hang on my

admiration wall for all to admire.

Thanks Jessie,,,they really brighten my day!

As I was rummaging through my box of collage goodies I

found this Paris city map. The design was actually done

by Jean-Paul Goude. Interesting hat don´t you think?

I wanted to create a piece featuring a hat but I feel this

hat speaks for itself.

Jean-Paul is the designer for many famous name brands.

This latest Chanel ad is running in quite a few magazines

right now. Again, notice the flower hat she is wearing.

He was also the designer for this cover featuring the

singer Björk. Again, notice the hat.

I am linking these hats to the Three Muses.

I am off to do some exercises. This will make

my back feel like new again. Either that or I´ll never

walk again.

A colorful array of longstitch books.

All the covers are painted with watercolors and ink.

The spines are sewn onto leather for added stability.

The Red one with a black leather spine.

The Blue one with a brown leather spine.

Bookbinding is always a fun summertime project.

I have many more waiting in the wings.

I have been painting a lot of green papers this week

for bookbinding projects. I used some of one of the

papers to make a quick card with one of my favorite quotes.
