Pittsburgh Steelers with a record of 5-2 and both of those losses on the road travels to Mile High to face the Denver Broncos with a record of 6-1 after they got beat last sunday by Baltimore in a very physical game. The Steelers need this game to catch the Bengals on top of the AFC North while the Broncos are solid in first place of the AFC West with noone even close to give them a decent fight.Both of these offenses are capable of being physical with the run, but the defenses in this game could dictate a lot of multi-receiver sets with liberal passing. Pittsburgh’s identity already revolves around the pass offense, while Denver would like to run the ball — but that’s not happening against the rock-solid Steeler run defense. With two really good defenses, do not be surprised if this is a wide-open offensive game with creative play calling.

Pittsburgh Steelers S Ryan Clark a couple years back playing in Denver became ill and lost his spleen and gall bladder plus 30 pounds due to medical complications that ended his season, this time could be different but Coach Mike Tomlin haven’t decided if he will suit up. Clark practiced Monday as the Steelers returned from a full week off, and he has received medical clearance to play. It seems to me that the Steelers have a lot of important injuries to consider for this game, they could use all the help they can get but they will be short handed none the less. The gameplan it’s on QB Ben Roethlisberger’s hands, also WR Hines Ward and WR Santonio Holmes (who suffers from the same illness as Clark but is not as complicated) will be helping by air, RB Rashard Mendenhall and RB Willie Parker will be helping on the grown with their physical running game, they will need a very powerful offense if they want to put this game away.

Denver Broncos injuries are also a point to consider in this game. RT Ryan Harris won’t play against Pittsburgh next Monday night after sustaining a toe injury in the Broncos’ loss at Baltimore. This injury might be a lot more complicated so the team are still waiting. Harris, a third-year pro from Notre Dame, has started 22 consecutive games for one of the league’s best offensive lines. He was replaced in the first half Sunday by second-year pro Tyler Polumbus, who is in line to make his first NFL start against the Steelers next Monday night. This could be a very important issue for Denver who just lost their first game against Baltimore, they don’t need another one and even worst at home. The Offense will have QB Kyle Orton, RB Knowshon Moreno, RB Correll Buckhalter, WR Brandon Marshall, WR Jabar Gaffney and S Brian Dawkins who will play on Monday without a problem. This offense will be good enough to take the Steelers by air or grown at home but the defense needs to be on their toes and they need to move fast if they want this victory.

Dallas Cowboys are superior in every offensive and defensive team stat, QB Tony Romo has been playing good lately so it’s time his team actually balance the offense a little bit. Offensive coordinator Jason Garrett will have the option of attacking the Eagles’ defense at all levels both on the ground and through the air. Garrett will keep the Philadelphia defense guessing with a good mixture of run and pass. Now, Romo can’t do it all by himself he will have on his side WR Miles Austin, TE Jason Witten, RB Marion Barber and RB Felix Jones all leaders and they will do as much as possible to win this game since this particular one can decide the faith of the Cowboys on the NFC East. “I think everybody realizes what’s at stake in this game and how critical this one really is,” WR Patrick Crayton said. “I’m not going to call it a must-win [game]. It’s not going to break the season, but I think it’s a ‘have to win.’” Then the Cowboys share the top and they need to get this one out of their ways and continue to the post season as head of the division but it will be a tough one.

Philadelphia Eagles just crushed the Giants in a very embarrasing way, Philly made the Giants looked out of place, with a lack of offensive goals and just lazy. Now they come back home and face the biggest challenge of their season, they need to beat the Cowboys to grab the first place of the division and hold it tight for the post season. QB Donovan McNaab had a great game last sunday, he might be able to repeat it this upcoming sunday, all of these teams look alike, they have played eachother numerous times and the have been rivals for a very long time so that’s the key ingredient for this game, rivalry. Defensive coordinator Brian Stewart, a former protege of Dallas Coach Wade Phillips might be interested to show his good friend the big mistake he did when he fired him, Philadelphia’s defense is on the move and they are stopping everyone, this is the key for Philadelphia to win this game, DEFENSE. On the offense the Eagles will have RB LeSean McCoy, RB Brian Westbrook (questionable), WR DeSean Jackson and TE Brent Celek, they will need Westbrook fully recovered and QB Donovan McNaab more accurate than ever. They sure need a lot of luck but this game is theirs if they blitz on Romo and let the defense do their job.

No.9 LSU Tigers could win and take control of the SEC West, well this is a nice dream but a little hard to accomplish, they are playing one of the best teams in the country and that is always hard, and they play them on the road, that’s even harder, and this game could mean the second spot and the chance to go to the BCS championship for alabama then it sounds almost impossible. “Since I’ve been here, this team enjoys playing big games,” Miles said. “It only counts one, but it’s a very important one. We always want to honor our best opponent with our best effort. Every time we play Alabama, home or on the road, we realize that it’s going to be a very competitive game. It matches two of the best college football programs in the country. By what Coach Miles stated he is not really scare and he will try to take the Tide by surprise, may be he knows something we do not. QB Jordan Jefferson only defeat this season was against No.1 Florida and so far he has been in control, 11 tds and only 4 interceptions this season sounds just right but 23 sacks is a joke, the offensive line should be able to block better for the QB otherwise it will be just impossible to beat the Tide. The Running game in the legs of RB Charles Scott, he has been able to score important tds and he could be the key for LSU offense. WR Terrance Toliver and WR Brandon LaFell will be in charge of catching the ball, this will be a strong point but they need to hold Alabama with a defensive strategy like no other, that is the real key of the game for LSU.

No.3 Alabama Crimson Tide QB Greg McElroy feels this game is the biggest game of the season, obviously right behind Florida Gators BCS Championship game, It could wind up being huge in the national title race, too. Alabama Coach Nick Saban meets his old team in a game that could send his current one to the SEC championship game. The Tide only has to win to secure a spot. This could be easy to say but hard to accomplish, they are ready and they look forward to this challenge next saturday. The rushing game is Alabama’soffense biggest asset, they are ranked 13th in the NCAA against a poor 68th from LSU, so this is the edge the Tide needs, RB Mark Ingram and RB Trent Richardson will be doing what they know best, running and controlling the clock. By air Alabama have WR Marquis Maze and WR Julio Jones, both great players but have scored only a few times and this could be a great time to make them work harder, they need this weapon as well if they want to be the next NCAA National Champs.

They have successfully scored an average of 41 points per game, that is a hell of a record, also they have scored 45 or more points in 5 out of 8 games, that is a task hard to fulfill. QB Kellen Moore has scored 24 touchdowns this season with only 2 interceptions and 5 sacks, this is unbelievable in every way you look at it, hard to accomplish that is a given. The main key for the Broncos is the air game, WR Austin Pettis with 9 tds and WR Titus Young with 7 tds are the perfect example of how powerful the Broncos have become on the passing game, they will be depending on these guys to make it happen next friday. The running game will be in the legs of RB Jeremy Avery and RB Doug Martin, both great players and they have scored plenty of times but they won’t be crucial to the game the way the QB-WR game will be. The Key for the Broncos is keep the ball in the air and run it only when you need those extra yards to make it to the first down, the rest will follow.

Louisiana Tech marching 5th on the WAC conference with an awful record of 3-5 have been very disappointing this season. Their scoring game indicates an average of 27 points per game but in most games they are not even close to that number, they go crushed by regular unranked teams, now imagine what a nationally ranked team will do to them, it will be awfully hard for the Bulldogs to get this victory at home. QB Ross Jenkins with only 11 tds in 8 games make you think twice about his job on the field, the air game will not be the key for success on this game for the Bulldogs, TE Dennis Morris and WR Phillip Livas are the perfect example of the crappy passing game the Bulldogs are having this season, they sure need to improve that. The key will be the running game on the legs of RB Daniel Porter and RB Tyrone Duplessis, both will be the only tool they have against the Broncos and they will pay for it dearly.

They lost the game but the rookie has been one of the Hokies’ most consistent performers this season. With only four regular-season games remaining, he is Virginia Tech’s leading rusher with 163 carries for 970 yards and 10 touchdowns and obviously the biggest weapon against East Carolina, they sure will take advantage of that. QB Tyrod Taylor, WR Jarrett Boykin, WR Dyrell Roberts and RB Josh Oglesby are having a good season too and they will be helping Williams to get this victory on the road. The key of the game is use the running game and let it fly only when its totally necessary.

East Carolina Pirates belong to the C-USA East and they are on first place with a record of 5-3. This conference is a weak one and they will need this victory if they want to be selected for the bowl season, they need to improve their record and inmediatly before it’s too late. QB Patrick Pinkney will be in charge of the snaps at least for this year, the news are saying that Ex Boston College QB Dominique Davis will be transfering to East Carolina, he will have two years of eligibility after transferring from Fort Scott Community College in Kansas. Davis says he wants to follow Pinkney steps on East Carolina and that this change is the best for him at the moment. This could make the Pirates a great contender next season but for this season it will be hard if they want to be a part of the bowl season. By grown the Pirates will have RB Dominique Lindsay and RB Brandon Jackson and this will be the key factor for the Pirates as well, this game will be controlled by the running, the team that run the best will win so this might be a great chance for these guys to shine. By air East Carolina will have WR Dwayne Harris and WR Jamar Bryant who are great at what they do and they will be tested severely by Virginia tech’s defensive line, they sure need to use them if they want to keep up with the Hokies.

Though two of racing’s biggest stars, the 3-year-old filly Rachel Alexandra and the 3-year-old European superstar Sea The Stars, are not coming to the Breeders’ Cup, more than 30 foreign-campaigned horses are expected, along with the unbeaten mare Zenyatta, who has won all 13 of her races. Now who will be the favorite in the big race and who will be also right next to this horses, let’s check it out:

Zenyatta: Winner of the Breeders’ Cup Ladies Classic last year, she is undefeated in 12 starts so far. In 2009 she has won Milady and Vanity Handicaps at Hollywood and the Clement L. Hirsch Stakes at Del Mar, then the Lady’s Secret at Santa Anita last out. She makes it look easy against the girls, so maybe this year she will try the Classic. Trainer John Shirreffs is confident this incredible lady will come on top at the end of this race and jockey Mike Smith will be the lucky rider to take her to her place in history. She is by far the biggest favorite.

Summer Bird: Unraced as a 2-year-old, he was 3rd in the Arkansas Derby then 16th in the Kentucky Derby. Skipped the Preakness then won Belmont Stakes. Next out he was 2nd in the Haskell Invitational at Monmouth to Rachel Alexandra, then won the Travers in the slop at Saratoga. Showed again how much he likes a sloppy track in the Jockey Club Gold Cup, winning by a length to become the first 3-year-old in 20 years to win that race, the Belmont, and the Travers in the same year. Now this horse has proven already that he deserves the chance to be here, this will be the second biggest favorite in this race and he has done it in quite a fashion, this will be the greatest chance and his trainer Tim Ice and his jockey Kent Desormeaux are more than ready.

Mine That Bird: Named the Champion 2-year-old male in Canada, he won four straight races before fading to finish 12th in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile last year. This year he was a surprise winner in the Kentucky Derby at odds of 50-1, then 2nd in the Preakness to Rachel Alexandra, and 3rd in the Belmont Stakes to Summer Bird. Finished 3rd in the West Virginia Derby at Mountaineer in August. Last out he was a disappointing 6th in the Goodwood, never mounting his usual late close. Perhaps he doesn’t like California? Well this is the horse that could have won it all but he couldn’t, his trainer Bennie Woolley Jr. has been trying to overcome the California deal and jockey Mike Smith is the chosen one to try and break the disappointing season in California.

Rip Van Winkle: Irish-bred colt has been racing in Ireland and England and was a stakes winner at 2 last year. He has 2 wins in 5 starts so far this year including the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes and the Sussex Stakes, plus a second in the Coral Eclipse Stakes. Earned a spot in the Mile in his last start, but they plan to send him to the Classic instead. This foreign horse will be the biggest threat from overseas, this horse is the highest favorite and by the looks of it, it will give the rest a run for their money. The trainer is Aidan O’Brien and the jockey will be John Murtagh, good luck to them.

2009 Breeders Cup Odds and Predictions

On October 23, 2009 Trevor Keezor a cashier checker at home-depot was fired becuase of his beliefs. For over a year he had been wearing a button on his shirt saying “One nation under God”!! He went to work as normal for over a year. He loved his country and God and he would take a bible to work everyday and read it at his lunch breaks and the management came to him and told him to remove his button. Then One day he got the news of his life “YOUR FIRED”. He didnt know what to say because he couldnt believe what home-depot said. “expressing such personal beliefs is simply not allowed”, but had been wearing that for over a year. I mean what is going on!!!

Michael Masinter, a civil rights attorney stated “Any lawsuit over religious discrimination might be a tough one to win”! Also stated: “Because it’s a private business, not one that’s owned and operated by the government, it doesn’t have to operate under the free speech provisions of the First Amendment,” Masinter said.

But said we are not talking about religious beliefs here, its more like a political message. Then you would have to say to all you cant wear a cross on your next and so on. Trevor Keezor, is seeking legal help in this matter as he feels is not fair!!

NFL Monday Night Football Week 8 brings an interesting challenge between Atlanta Falcons and New Orleans Saints both divisional rivals at
NFC South. Atlanta Falcons with a record of 4-2 are fighting to have a decent record so they can be elligible for the Wild Card but the real story here are the Saints with their 6-0 record, the freshest surprise this season and they have managed to crush all their adversaries.

Atlanta Falcons are having an ok season, they thought it was going to be a tough one and they were right but they have managed to stay right behind the Saints and that is not easy to do. QB Matt Ryan had a tough game against the Cowboys, his offensive line was all over the place and they weren’t able to complete the opportunities. With 2 tds and 2 interceptions Ryan is trying to put the ball in the air as accurate as possible but he still needs some time to adjust, his time will come but it will not be this season. By air Ryan has WR Roddy White and TE Tony Gonzalez, they both have been the soul of the offense scoring many tds this season. The running game will be on RB Michael Turner who has scored 7 tds already, that is simply amazing for a running back on a semi-powerful team. The key for the Falcons will be to attack by grown and throw only when it’s absolutely necessary, they don’t need to waste any chances and they need to have the ball, if they defend they need to block the running game.

New Orleans Saints have some injuries for this game, FB Heath Evans (knee injury) and DT Sedrick Ellis (sprained right knee) are both questionable for this NFC South Challenge. The good news is that TE Jeremy Shockey is probable and he will be needed. QB Drew Brees and the gang are expecting to score a whole bunch of TDS, they have done so all year long and this will be a great opportunity to remind the rest of the conference that they are a team to consider favorite to take the title. Drew had a slow game last sunday but his team was able to score 40+ points again, this looks like a very complete offense/defense strategy. By air Brees will have WR Marques Colston and WR Devery Henderson, they have been catching everything so the Falcons need to keep an eye on these two players. On the grown is where the big difference lies, RB Mike Bell and RB Pierre Thomas have ran 5+ yards per carry and they are a real threat to the defensive line the Falcons have, they need to break their defense to crush them, and they will.

Minnesota Vikings lost their first game of the season last sunday against Pittsburgh Steelers by 10 points. QB Brett Favre had 334 yards with no tds and 1 interception, it was a slow day for the air attack, the Steelers controlled Favre and he had less opportunities to complete the passes, this is his first game with a completion rate of 66%, Steelers blitzed and Brett ran for his life, I assumed that is the recipe to defeat the Vikings. Helping the cause for the Vikings Favre will have WR Sidney Rice and WR Percy Harvin as the starting receivers, may be he will use a different estrategy against the Packers but it looks like the same names pop in my mind, they are just that good. On the running game that has been what favre has used to build his plays the Vikings will have RB Adrian Peterson and RB Chester Taylor, but mainly Favre will focus on Peterson who is fully healthy. It sounds like the whole team is right behind their leader, injury report like WR Bernard Berrian (left hamstring) is the only significant variable, nothing else has been reported, the rest of players are just ready for sunday afternoon. The key for Minnesota will be to pressure the young QB from the Packers and run the ball with Peterson as many times as possible, to chew the clock and let Favre do his job.

Green Bay Packers go second right behind the Vikings at the NFC North, they had a hell of a game against Cleveland Brown and QB Aaron Rodgers had an incredible game, Rodgers completed 15-of-20 passes for 246 yards and 3 touchdowns with 75% completion rate, no interceptions and 23yards rushed. This are quality numbers and Rodgers is starting to make a name for himself as a valuable piece of the Packers winning machine. Packers problem for this sunday will be injuries, WR Brett Swain (knee surgery) is out, TE Jermichael Finley (knee sprained) is questionable and by the looks of it he will have a hard time if he gets to play this very physical game. Helping QB Aaron Rodgers by air the Packers will count with WR Donald Driver and WR Greg Jennings who is probable to start this next sunday are in charge of catching everything and anything the QB throws, they will need luck and hard shoulders. The running game will be the feet of RB Ryan Grant who has been a great help this season and he is fully healthy. The key to defeat the Vikings was shown by the Steelers, corner the Old guy, make him run, pressure his throws, control the game, if the Packers can blitz all afternoon, this game will be theirs.

NFL Week 8 Vikings Vs. Packers Odds and Predictions

Georgia Bulldogs travel to Jacksonville to play No.1 Florida Gators in a very expected clash between them. SEC East Conference challenge between the first place of the division and the third spot, sounds like it will be a great game and it’s the perfect chance for Florida to proclaim themselves as the most powerful team in the nation.

Georgia Bulldogs thought this was going to be a good season and they were far from the truth. Their record of 4-3 and Conference Record of 3-2 reflects just that. Georgia has been really irregular thru the season, they have not been able to defeat a nationally ranked team yet and I have my doubts they will be able to defeat the No.1 ranked team in the country. QB Joe Cox will be in charge of the snaps and he is the only chance Georgia has against the Gators, bulldogs need their QB to throw a hell of a game like he has been doing or better if they want to make the Gators at least nervous. Helping the QB by air the Bulldogs will have WR A.J. Green and TE Orson Charles, they both have played great but they will need to go the extra mile in this game, the team really needs them. On the grown RB Richard Samuel and RB Caleb King will try to go thru Florida’s defense, both average about 4 yards per carry so this could be very useful on the first half of the game. The key for the game is DEFENSE the whole game, if they don’t stop the Gators they will have a lot of problems trying to catch up with them on the scoreboard.

No.1 Florida Gators have been perfect up to this point. They are on first place of the SEC East division and the SEC Conference as well, they are No.1 ranked team in the nation by BCS, Associated Press and Coaches, that has to be one of their best years. Their record of 7-0 and Conference record of 5-0 means a lot and this could also mean another conference challenge in their pockets if they get their QB to commit and make it happen in the field. QB Tim Tebow’s numbers for 2009 are down from his 2007 Heisman Trophy winning season, but to hear the senior quarterback tell it, he’s quite content with just winning ball games, “I feel like I’m the quarterback of a team that’s 6-0, and I’m pretty excited about that. That’s all you can ask for.” Now will this be the attitude of a true winner, he should be polishing the trophy not just looking to see what happens, this is unacceptable in every way. The air will be controlled by WR Riley Cooper and TE Aaron Hernandez, they have had kinda slow season due their Qb’s development but they can shine with their own light on this game as well, both are superstars and they will be a good alternative on the field next saturday. Now Florida’s most valuable tool is the running game no question about it, they will use it like there is no tomorrow and they will control the clock with it. RB Jeffery Demps is expected to return to practice on tuesday with a sprained neck injury, he is the sould of the running offense and even QB Tim Tebow can run the ball like a regular RB so this is exactly what Florida will do, they will run the ball as many times as possible, Georgia will have a hard time trying to stop them.
