is an online trading-card game.

Note: Computer doesn't lose when it runs out of cards.

Strategies

Smoke Elementals and Spoiled Feast are effective against Contagion-type decks

Don't underestimate Hooded Rogues. Even one Hooded Rogue can dead-lock opponent into having 0 gems, thus being unable to cast anything (and computer is too dumb to discard the hand)

Arlen's Sacrifice is _very_ useful. You might want to have Wall of Brambles handy, just in case

Wall of Brambles, actually, is quite a powerful creature with Bloodlust

How to beat Dust Storm 2

Dust Storm 2 is a very powerful deck. However, it has only a few cards, and it's easy to exploit it.

Here's the deck. I called it "hoover" (because hoover beats dust, obviously)

<DeckArchetype>
<Name>hoover</Name>
You don't have much control on stat allocation, and 'auto' equipment mode makes 'Items' tab barely even used

Constant resizing of newly built lairs' patrol radius is annoying

General hints, tips and tricks

At the beginning of every level check the map for valuable deposits like gold and try to dig them first. This will give you a nice boost, needed in the beginning

Dig from multiple entrances. The more entrances to the digging sites are there, more peons are released at the same time -> work is done faster.

Level hints

level 7: build defenses from flying in the center!
level 8: build strong aerial defenses
level 10: Don't be afraid to dig houses! :) They are pretty diggable (for some reason) :)

Monsters' Den: Book of Dread: walkthrough, tips and hints

Monsters' Den: Book of Dread is a continuation of Monsters' Den game featured on ArmorGames and is a wonderful hack-and-slash roguelike dungeon-crawl game.

Overview
The idea of the game is simple - you have a party of 4 adventurers, and your goal is to... the goal differs :) In addition to original Monsters' Den campaign, Book of Dread features an addition dungeon quest and a new survival mode where you gather and equip your party and face endless hordes of monsters. Two main 'modes' of the game are exploration and combat. In exploration mode your party travels through the map of current dungeon level, gathers treasures, encounters enemies and meets special quests and encounters. In combat mode you are represented with a schematic representation of battle field, where your party members stand in two lines against two lines of enemies. Melee combat is only allowed between the connected lines - meaning that you can strategically position your ber and better armored troops to protect more fragile party members in the second line. (if you have ever played Disciples: Sacred Lands - or rather - chess - you will be very familiar will this combat style).

This guide and walkthrough is a work in progress

Game campaigns:

Original Monsters' Den campaign - The Den of Corruption

New campaign - The Den of Terror

Totally new survival mode - The Fall of Tellunos

First of all, you have to gather your party for the adventure. The game usually suggests you well-playable class combination as your party members (for example, the 'standard' Dungeons and Dragons one - Warrior, Rogue, Mage and Cleric). We will try to cover game classes, their strengths and weaknesses, as much as suggest some b class combinations, not only good to complete the game at expert difficulty, but even viable enough to 'survive' in the survival mode as long as you want :)

Classes:

Warrior

A heavy armored fighter, good not only to soak damage from the monsters, standing in the front line and protecting his fellow groupmates, but also do deal quite a hefty damage once equipped with two-handed weapons.

Notable skills: Defiance, Cleave, Shield Wall, Inspire, Execute, Leadership

Cleric

Clerics are the second class in the game that can wear heavy armor, and while potentially dealing less damage then warriors, clerics can heal the group, making it last way longer. The game on Expert difficulty is pretty hard without a cleric.

Notable skills: Heal, Holy Light, Revive

Mage

While wearing only light armor and usually possessing only a small amount of health, mages are a force to be reckoned with. Mages can attack from distance with staves, have a hefty arsenal of mass-damage spells and arguably possess the most devastating one-target skill in the game.

Notable skills: Electrical Storm, Cosmic Prison, Ensorcelled Blade, Power Siphon

Ranger

Rangers can wear medium armor, and can wield a big arsenal of weapons - from bows and crossbows to two-handed axes. Being ackquainted with some basic nature magic, rangers are also good as a secondary healer/buffer - their Nature's Balm and Swiftness buffs are very precious. They are also very fast units, often faster then rogues. And their Force of Nature skill can be compared to mage's Ensorcelled Blade by destructive power, while being quite cheaper energy-wise.

Notable skills: Hail of Arrows, Pin, Force of Nature

Rogue

Rogues are masters of daggers, poison and deception. They receive bonuses to damage from both strength and dexterity when wielding daggers, though they can be deadly with a bow as well (hint: Coup de Grace). They are also very fast, providing you with a chance to start combat first and often even dispatch one enemy before he even had a chance to move.

Notable skills: Pierce Defenses, Sneak Attack, Create Opening, Thief's Luck, Coup de Grace

Barbarian

Barbarians can be referred to as 'machines of destruction'. While not posessing any special 'total destruction' skills like mages or rangers, every attack of a properly equipped barbarian can be as devastating. They also possess two exceptional passive skills, making them very worthy at higher levels.

Notable skills: Reckless Fury, Whirlwind, Brutality, Vengeance

Conjuror

While wearing light armor, conjurors are good at building defensive walls in front of them by summoning endless amounts of creatures from the ether. Conjuror minions can perform any task - taking hits in front rows, restore health or mana to all party members, even removing cursing from your allies and cursing the enemies. Conjuror also possesses a spell that increases damage resistance of every party member, and can raise a fallen companion in the battle.

Notable skills: Manasprite, Eldritch Aegis, Call Soul

General tips:

Every time you explore a section of dungeon you haven't been to before it counts as a round of regeneration in combat.

If you have a cleric in party (or at least a ranger), you can use 'full regen' trick: kill all but one weak monster (preferrably of healer type so he doesn't do much damage), and then just skip turns healing everybody as needed to regen power points. This way you don't have to worry about healing between encounters (and don't have to use shrines, that decrease your score.)

There is no reason for a warrior to take Power Attack into a quickslots over Adrenaline. Adrenaline gives you 130% damage for the rest of the battle, plus a whooping stun immunity. You can take both Adrenaline and Power Attack, but don't take Power Attack over Adrenaline.

If you clean the whole level of monster presence, then on the next level you will have an option to retreat to the previous level and fully regenerate there (dead party members will be resurrected and restored to full hit points and power). This option is only available once for each level, but it is indeed very powerful.

Prefer not to regen at altars - each altar use decreases your score.

FAQ
Q:where do I get journeyman's stones? I only have X of them, but it says I need 9? A:journeyman's stones only appear at the fearsowers in the first 9 levels of the game. If you have skipped at least one fearsower group in the game - you can not complete the second campaign (by teleporting to and killing The Dreadfather - the second campaign main evil guy).

Battles

Regular combat
If you have ever played Disciples: Sacred Lands - or rather - chess - you will be very familiar will combat system in Monsters' Den: Book of Dread. There are two rows to place your party members - front row and back row. Characters or creatures from the back row cannot be engaged in melee combat if there exists an alive party member/creature in a front row - thus front row serves as a "protection layer" for the back row, and heavily armored characters (like warriors and sometimes clerics) should be put in the front row.

Level bosses
Every level of a dungeon in the game contains a "Level boss" - a powerful monster with his close minions. These battles are usually way harder than regular dungeon encounters, though they are guaranteed to return an 'epic'(and sometimes legendary) quality item as loot - so they are often worth the effort, even if you skip the whole level.

Campaign bosses
Goals of both Book of Dread campaigns can be summarized as "kill the last boss". For Den of Corruption campaign it is "The Corruptor", and for Den of Terror campaign it is "The Dreadfather".

The Corruptor

The Corruptor is the main evil character in the Den of Corruption campaign of Monsters' Den: Book of Dread. He can be encountered on level 9 of the campaign's dungeon after all other monsters on the level has been killed.

In addition to his powerful mass attacks, The Corruptor also summons evil copies of your party members to fight on his side.

The ways to beat them differ - from simple 'hacking' the copies, trying to use 'banish' conjurer spell to destroy clones, or even undressing your characters - so your characters will not be so powerful (and so their copies as well).

The Dreadfather

The Dreadfather is the source of all evil in Monsters' Den second campaign: Book of Terror. To encounter him, you need to kill monster groups with special monsters called 'Fearsowers' on every level from 1 to 9. After each victory you will be rewarded by a quest item called 'Journeymans Stone'. After you have 9 of these stones, they can be combined into one by dragging the stack of the items onto one of your characters in inventory screen. Dragging the resulting stone on a character again will result in your whole party being teleported to face the almighty Dreadfather - so be prepared.

"The almighty" Dreadfather is not as badass as it sounds. His main combat trick is the ability to raise all his Fearsower followers from the dead with one spell, effectively making him take almost no damage from melee attack - he is almost always protected by the defensive line of his fearsowers - so bring some ranged damage-dealing characters with you :)

Legendary Encounters

Hydra

Medusa

Minotaur

Items
Items names in Monsters' Den reflect their properties. Items are named by the following convention (similar to Diablo and World of Warcraft):

<prefix><material>item <of suffix>

Prefixes and suffixes represent magical properties of the item. Material is only an 'informative part'.

Example:

Unerring planespine bow of lethality

Item quality
Items in Monsters' Den are of several different qualities, represented by color of their frame. Item quantity represents the amount of special prefixes and suffixes the item can have. Damaged and normal items have no prefixes/suffixes, magical items can have aither prefix or suffix, rare - both prefix and suffix, and unique and legendary items have many prefixes/suffixes on them (not shown in item name though).

Damaged (gray color) – This is a lowest grade of items. Almost like "normal", but with lower armor/damage.

Normal (white color) – A regular item. There are special altars that transform normal white items into a unique item (purple) - so it is usually a good idea to carry at least one normal item with the party at all time.

Magical (green color) – These items can have either a prefix or suffix.

Rare (blue color) – Both prefix and suffix are present. In a good combination of prefix/suffix these items can be very powerful (often even more powerful then certain unique/legendary) items

Unique (purple color) – Has multiple prefixes/suffixes which are not displayed in item name (item name and description are unique).

Legendary (orange color) – Very powerful items received only as an award for a completed campaign, a victory in a legendary encounter or a victory over a monster pack with several monster leaders, or receiving as a reward from a special altar.

There is also one 'different' item type - Quest items. They are represented by yellow color and cannot be thrown away as they are related to the main story of the campaign.

Item prefixes

Blinding - reduces target's accuracy (up to 20%)

Consecrated - can be used by cleric

Lightweight - less penalty on quickness

Protective - armor on rings and cloaks

Purifying - up to 30% poison resistance

Runed - up to 5 more power regeneration

Sharp - deals more damage

Soothing - adds health regeneration (very useful on low levels)

Staggering - up to 10% chance to stun target on hit

Thick - item has more armor

Unerring - up to +15 accuracy

Vampiric - drains health from target and gives percentage of it to wielder

Venomous - adds poison damage

Item suffixes

of Accuracy - up to +15 chance to hit

of Deftness - adds dexterity

of Discretion - wearer may retreat instantly

of Insight - adds Intellect

of Lethality - up to 10% chance to kill target on hit (all bosses are immune to this effect)

of Might - gives extra strength

of Reflection - up to 45% damage reflection

of Resilience - gives extra endurance points

of Speed - up to +10 quickness

of Tenacity - up to 30% stun resistance

Item specials

Daggers add damage bonuses from both strength and dexterity

Spears can be used to hit enemies with melee attacks while standing in the back row

Defeating the survival challenge

Party setup
How to beat the survival challenge? What is the best party selection in order to survive as long as it is possible? We will try to find the best solution, if it exists. Everyone is welcomed to comment and contribute if you feel that your party combination is more viable in survival mode then ours. First thing we need to understand: there will be casualties. As monsters grow in level and damage, eventually one of the party members will get killed by receiving an unlucky hits from two or three mobs in a row. And unlike the normal campaign, you will not be able to flee and resurrect the member with resurrection potions, altars or 'retreat to previous level' feature. Thus we need a mean to resurrect fallen party members directly in battle. Two classes that can resurrect are cleric and conjuror. Since cleric wears heavy armor and can also heal, we would prefer a cleric - but what if it will be _him_ who will die in battle? We definitely need both cleric and conjuror. There is no way around it if you want to reach at least 100th wave in survival mode. Now, we need a tank. Someone might claim that both cleric and conjuror's war golems can tank - though level 10 war golems are really puny tanks when it comes to taking hits from level 15 bosses, and clerics are quite susceptible to stun. When we pick a warrior as a tank, we will be able to move cleric to the second row and give him an incense instead of a shield to boost his healing abilities. And one more 'feature' of warriors that makes the argument totally into their side - they possess 'Execute' - a skill that causes an instantaneous kill on any monster except bosses if used with 100 power points. This means we will be able to kill 5k+ hp monsters in a single hit - only rogues are capable of that, and they need the target to be stunned before use. Warriors also possess 'Inspire' skill that boosts the damage of all party members by 20% and are also immune to stun with 'Adrenaline' skill. So, we have a warrior, cleric and conjuror. Who else? This is pretty much up to you. Mages are quite devastating when it comes to Ensorcelled Blade, can take some damage since they have a hefty +40% damage resistance self-buff, rogues are pretty good with Coup de Grace, and rangers are able to do hefty damage with Hail of Arrows and Force of Nature. Our personal choice are rangers - they also bring poison immunity to the party with Nature's Balm (as well as some extra hp regen buff which never hurts), and can even help with healing a little bit.

Skill and equipment selection

Warrior
Skills: Execute is a must-have. Inspire is valuable. There is no need to take Power Attack instead of Adrenaline, which is a permanent +30% damage buff, and it also grants our warrior stun immunity. Shield Wall might be useful on later waves and Cleave might trigger some Leadership attacks or even insta-death if warrior has a weapon with 'of lethality' suffix. Right, we should put the rest of skill points into Leadership over Armor Proficiency, because the bonus in damage reduction from Armor Proficiency is just minimal. Equipment: Mostly items with 'Thick' prefix (they have more armor). Shield - it gives a lot of armor and is also needed to perform Shield Wall skill. Some vampiric stuff will be good too - we're gonna do really serious damage with ours Executes. Stats: all into endurance. We need to survive - and damage will come.

Cleric
Skills: Heal is a must-have as well as Revive. Holy Light is mandatory - the cumulative effect of 30% accuracy reduction for every monster saves way more health to party members then any healing spell would restore (I have yet to see lethality proc off a Holy Light, but poison proc works off it - so you can poison all your enemies with a single spell as well.) Heal All might be useful later, and Anoint is quite cool to have when you are about to unleash your mage's Ensorcelled Blade or ranger's Hail of Arrows on the enemies. The rest of skill points should be put into Benediction - this is very important. Through the game you will be debuffed with 50% less damage and 30% less accuracy - and you better have Benediction or you risk running with that debuffed stats until the end. Smite is a matter of taste. I often run without it. Equipment: Mostly stuff with Runed prefix and +Intellect bonuses. An incenser - it gives a very nice bonus to every heal spell. A mace with poison on it - it will proc off Holy Light. Stats: all into endurance. We do need that hp in order to survive. Maybe just 2-3 points into intelligence.

Conjurer
Skills: Wall of shadows is absolutely needed to decurse your party members. Call soul is mandatory - to raise cleric if he falls. Eldritch Aegis to buff your party members with damage resistance and Manasprite to make these power regen rounds shorter. Optionally Refresh Energies. Equipment: Any. Bonuses to power regen from Runed items are welcomed though - but don't focus on dressing conjuror until you have your warrior, cleric and damage dealer (ranger in our case) dressed up. Conjuror will be fine even in his basic starter gray clothes (he will thank you for a nice staff though :) Stats: all into endurance. There's no much need in Intelligence - most of the time conjuror will be busy messing with his manasprites.

Ranger
Skills: Ranger damaging skill selection should depend on equipment. If there is a nice bow/crossbow of lethality available in the store - go with Hail of Arrows. If no such weapon is available, but there is a nice two-handed axe/spear - go with Power of Nature (we will be nice guys and don't play with unending money and shop restock glitch that will be described later). Nature's Balm is quite useful to grant all your party members poison immunity and a nice hp regen increase. While cool in regular campaigns, Swiftness is not that useful in survival. Pin, Pierce, Focus - it's all a matter of choice. Equipment: A nice bow/crossbow of lethality. (crossbow is preferred since speed doesn't matter that much in survival). Or alternatively, a nice axe/spear of accuracy. Accuracy is very important for ranger skills - most of them perform multiple hits, but with a lowered accuracy, so you should prefer +accuracy items to any other. (Accuracy level of about 125 really boosts your damage). More lethality stuff - check rings and quivers. Some runed items might be good as well - this will help you to cast heavy damaging skills almost every round of combat, and some vampirism is nice since your ranger is going to do a lot of damage. Stats: everything into endurance.

Remember not to position your cleric and conjurer on the same vertical line and with this setup, you will be able to play the survival challenge until it gets boring (or until monsters become so tough that they will one-shot your heroes - which I personally didn't experience, even though getting further then 100th wave :) Wanna know what's after 100th wave? I didn't even think a second about a phrase Gabe said.

There should be one called "Win Omen", for when you raidwipe by drawing aggro from the MT with dots.

Right? And only after reading Tycho's comment I felt that something is indeed not good :)

For those of you who come here from search engines looking for term definitions (Win Omen definition in the end):

wipe

A situation when the entire party is killed. (short for "wipeout")

raidwipe

wipe, but applied to entire raid (25-40 people)

drawing aggro

Incrementing the monster's internal 'hate to personally you' counter to a level when he leaves his current target and switches on you.

MT

see Main Tank

Main Tank

a person who is responsible for drawing attention of the monster, thus making the monster focus attacks on the provoker (while the rest of the group is 'relatively' safe because they don't receive direct hits).

DOT

An abbreviation for 'Damage over Time' - a shortcut for spells/abilities or their part that don't do massive direct damage, but instead spread the damage over a certain period of time.

L2P

An abbreviation for 'Learn to play' — a phrase often used to piss-off someone by belittling his gaming skills.

nub

an offensive short form for 'newbie' — someone who is not yet familiar with a game.

Win Omen

The term refers to Omen Threat Meter — an interface addon to World of Warcraft that estimates and shows amount of 'hate' a given monster has to each player. The player that tops the list (Wins 'top the Omen' competition) usually receives a focused attention of the monster, and if the victim is not Main Tank - consequences can be dire not only for the 'Winner', but to the whole raid.

GemCraft: walkthrough, hints, tips and tricks

Gemcraft by GameInABottle (published by ArmorGames) is a remake of classic Desktop Tower Defense game. But unlike other DTD clones, the original idea found a second life in this masterpiece.

General tips

Every game try to get as much amulets as you can. For every amulet you get extra experience points. If you build towers - build either 3, 6 or 9 of them. If you throw gem bombs - try to throw at least 15 or 30, so you get the extra amulet. Extra amulets = extra exp, and if you get the full blue frame after completed level you can get a bonus level as well.

Always unleash the next wave as fast as you can. First thing I do at the beginning of the game - I just release the first wave, and then put in my gems. If you see you can handle it - unleash the next wave as soon as possible right after the current. This grants you a bigger bonus to both exp and mana.

For the first few levels create smallest gems. This way costs the most mana, but you receive amulets for big amounts of gems created and big amount of gems combined.

Alternative method for the first few levels is gem bombing. Create a few, unleash the first wave and start throwing gems into the monster cave. Cast mana pool if you have enough mana, Ctrl+click on gem creation screen to create as much gems as you can, rinse and repeat. While this method can be quite tiring, it can give you glowing frame score even on first few levels, so you don't have to replay them. (Remember you can use '1' keyboard button to throw gems).

At the end of every level use the rest of your mana to create as much gems as you can. Press '3' to open gem creation screen, then Ctrl+Click on the lowest level gem - it should fill your inventory with gems. Press '6' to open combine gem menu and Ctrl+Click on a gem to combine as much as you can. Rinse and repeat. This way you will get the most from your extra mana in amulet experience. Out of mana? Throw these gems on enemies and get an extra amulet for gem bombing.

For levels 20 and higher, create expensive gems at the beginning. You will save some mana this way. On the last 2-3 waves, stick to producing small gems and combining them, so you get some extra amulets

Build towers as close as possible. Even if you see a 'sweet spot' to build your defenses - towers close to entrance will kill monsters faster, thus raising your exp and mana, and you will be able to release the next wave of monsters faster as well, raising your exp and mana even more.

If this epic boss has made it through your defenses with a small amount of hit points and is going to enter your tower - remember you still have gem explosions. While low level gem explosions are pretty useless, level 7 gem explosion is really devastating. Especially if you have 'powerful gem bombs' skill.

Don't bother replaying any levels before you have Number Of High Grade Starter Gems skill maxed. With this skill you will easily get max score on every level you replay (revealing you secret levels as well).

Skills

More initial and maximum mana - this is the first skill you put your hands on. Very useful in epic fights when you think you will need to give an epic boss a 'second lap'. Useful because you can create higher level gems in the very start, or cast Mana Pool more times. Before 'number of medium grade starter gems' you should have it maxed.

More mana gain per kill - very useful. You kill enormous amount of monsters - and even a small amount of extra mana from every kill really helps.

Armor - used only in first epic fight, when you surely need to let the boss go through your tower. Absolutely useless otherwise. You do know that you can respec, resetting your skill points, right? So take some for the first epic fight, and respec back to 0 in Armor afterwards.

More mana replenish per second - good when it's your top skill. Not as good when you are at higher levels because there are plenty of great skills then. Most of your mana still comes from kills and unleashing the next waves before time - but if you have extra points - this is a good place to invest.

Number of basic starter gems - since basic gems are cheap, it is not that good. Other skills from this category (medium and high grade) are tremendously more useful.

Lower mana cost for gem creating and combining - that's great. You create plenty of gems and combine a lot as well. From one point, you want to concentrate on pure gems in GemCraft. From the other point you are often in situations when you are just forced to mix gems in order to get this 7 or 8 level gem. Invest just a few, and if you don't have Pure Gem Mastery yet.

Lower initial and incremental cost for buildings - very useful. This skill maxed almost guarantees you a grade 7 gem in the very beginning - so you can unleash the waves of monsters one by another, and focus on Mana Pool from the start, thus boosting your mana regen and total exp. By effectiveness/skill points ratio this skill is second probably only to Pure Gem Mastery - and only because this skill is so expensive. By the time taken to complete a level with this skill it is on the first place.

Bosses

How to beat the first epic boss - The Distorted

The Distorted:

Hit Points:

10k

Armor level:

26

Speed:

0.6

Mana to banish:

4920

First epic boss is fat. He has 10000 hp and it is impossible to take him down from the first round. Luckily, he costs only 4920mana to banish - that means that if you have 4920+ mana you will survive if he enters your castle and he will have to do all his way again. Respec. Invest 2 points in Armor, maximize More Mana Points Per Kill and More Mana Points Per Second. Rest divide between More Initial and Maximum Mana and Lower Mana Cost For Gem Creating And Combining. Setup: 6 extra towers, 5 in the front, one near the last tower on the road. Strategy: Buy expensive gems. One level 4 gem from the very beginning should guarantee you safety for about 6 or 7 waves. Buy level 4 and 5 gems and cast Mana Pool until you reach at least 4700 mana - together with points in Armor skill it will guarantee an extra lap for the epic boss. Some mobs from wave 29-31 can go through your defenses and into your castle - but you will replenish that mana while killing them when they go out for a second lap. Build a couple of water trenches to maximize the impact of your towers. When epic boss passes your first line of defenses, move your most powerful gems to 2 backend towers, so he will enjoy their firepower for the second time. If he walks into your tower and you have at least 4700 mana (you can check the actual amount needed by clicking on him), you will banish him and he will have to do all the way again. Move your strong gems again to the front row - this should be enough for a poor creature to depart for greener pastures.

Second Epic Battle - The Reborn

The Reborn:

Hit Points:

16k

Armor level:

30

Speed:

0.6

Mana to banish:

6120

Strategy: You need 6120 mana to survive The Reborn entering your castle. Luckily, he comes only on 38 wave, so you have plenty of time to build your mana pool and your defenses. Buy expensive gems, invest in Mana Pool early and you should be able to greet the boss with at least 2 level 7 gems. Make sure to give him a double greeting, swapping the most powerful gems to your rear defenses. With some luck "The Reborn" might not even be able to reach your fortress even on his first lap.

Third epic battle - The Fallen
Same strategy. Build towers close. Get expensive gems. The poor boss died before I even screenshotted him. You don't need big amounts of mana for this boss - he will die on the way (Mana Pool spell is still useful, as you get boosts to your exp and mana gained from monsters).

Fourth epic battle - The Lurker

The Lurker:

Hit Points:

42k

Armor level:

65

Speed:

0.6

Mana to banish:

6840

Once you have maxed Pure Gem Mastery and Number Of High Grade Starter Gems the rest of the game is simple. The Lurker should die on his first voyage to your castle. If he doesn't - throw some lvl 7-8 gems at him.

Final battle - The Guardian and The Forgotten

The Guardian:

Hit Points:

146k

Armor level:

120

Speed:

0.6

Mana to banish:

7100

In addition to his impressive amount of hit points and armor, The Guardian seems to be quite resistant to gem bombs. Depending on your luck with purple gems, you will probably need to banish him once - so keep around 7k mana ready. The number one goal on him is to cut soften his ultra armor - make sure you put purple gems as close to the entrance as possible, and move them as The Guardian progresses through. Green gems (poison) help as well - they ignore armor entirely. After losing 100 out of his 120 armor he is easily taken by your other damage-dealing gems. Enjoy the meeting with The Forgotten :)

How to get secret levels
To get secret levels, you need to score for glowing frame for all levels except last two. First hidden level is revealed after you complete first 6 levels with the "glowing frame" score. Be warned, though - it is not that easy if you are not at least level 37.

Don't bother if you don't get the light-blue glowing frame for the first time you play the level — once you reach level 40, replaying levels to get the glowing frame will be trivial and very fast. So get the level 40 - and then go for hidden levels.

That's it. Hope you enjoy the game as much as I did :) And if you found this post useful, why not subscribe to my rss feed to receive updates about hot new games?

Sonny by ArmorGames: guide, walkthrough, tips, hints and cheats

Sonny game by ArmorGames is a good example of a nice flash game. Features interesting and active gameplay, nice music and is quite fast to complete. I am really eager to see a sequel - Sonny 2 :)

The game has 4 classes: Destroyer, Guardian, Assassin and Gunslinger (analogues of standard Warrior, Paladin, Rogue and Mage). There is one extra class, available through a companion but not accessible for players: Combat Medic (Healer).

The zombie idea is fun and nice. (I love Dungeon Keeper, Vampire: The Masquerade and other "opposite side" games).

The Sonny game is quite simple, straightforward and entertaining. There is no need to write a guide, FAQ or manual for it's first two episodes - just hack them all :) (oh, and you can hack bosses of these episodes again once you've completed it - you can farm them for a specific item set for example ;)

Hints about the third episode:

If you are constantly getting owned by rock golems, you can buy a resistance set from a shop. This will make it way easier. Alternatively, you can simply participate in training fights more. They give you experience, money and equipment, and eventually you'll be able to beat any amount of pesky rock golems. Remember to stun them with Break, Shatter Bolt or simply dispel them with Electro Bolt when they buff themselves with Enrage buff.

You can farm Gallant the Paladin for his paladin set. Just go again to Gadi'Kala (the Great Plains) and press Next Battle again. His set is wearable by anyone and provides you with very nice stats, combined with maximum poison piercing - your Veradux friend will start critting for 600+ damage with his Poison spell.

How to beat Baron
Abilities required to beat him: Break(optional), 2xShatter Bolt(optional)

Chain-stun Baron with Break - Shatter Bolt - Break - Shatter Bolt combination - and our paladin friend will do the rest.

How to beat Gallant the Paladin
Abilities required to beat him: Subversion(optional)

To beat Gallant the Paladin nothing special is required. He likes to heal himself for ~2k from time to time, so you can invest into Subversion spell to get him killed easily — once you feel he's gonna heal himself, put Subversion on him and he will kill himself with his heal. Though this is not mandatory - you can simply whack him until he gets out of Focus points to cast heals.

Remember, you can kill him multiple times — for experience, money and Paladin set. And with an extra party member that you will receive after killing him for the first time, he should be easy for all subsequent kills.

After you have completed these three episodes which make the game, you can optionally play a "bonus" episode. The bonus episode contains 4 bosses, shops with the best equipment in the game and unlimited training fights that scale with your level.

The boss fights are a little-bit tricky and interesting. You will probably need to respec couple of times for them. The bosses there include Ignition, Omen, Doctor Herregods and Sinjid's Shadow.

How to beat Ignition
Abilities required to beat him: Heroic Motivation (required), Electro Bolt(optional), Break(optional), Shatter Bolt(optional)

Ignition is first boss in "expansion pack", after you completed the game. He uses only 3 abilities (which make a deadly combination though):

Ignite. A spell that hits with fire damage and causes fire damage over 9 turns. Stackable - you can have many of them. Damage is low, the spell is here only to protect his next ability:

Fate. The character that has Fate is going to die after next turn if not dispelled. That's why Ignite is so dangerous - spells with longer duration are removed first, so if you have both Ignite and Fate, Ignite gets dispelled first and the character dies from Fate.

Dark Healing. Heals Ignition for 1000hp every turn for 9 turns.

Fate is very dangerous. You can't rely on any of your dumb companions to dispel it. You will need to invest at least 2 points to get Heroic Motivation. You can either put 4 Heroic Motivation spells into your quickslot so you are able to dispel every turn or chain-stun him with Break and Shatter Bolt every time he uses Ignite (so he won't cast Fate) until your Heroic Motivation is ready again. Alternatively, you can invest 3 points into Heroic Motivation and don't care about Ignite debuffs and only dispel once you have a Fate spell or 3 Ignites.

The best choice - 4 tier 1 Heroic Motivation spells in your action bar - you save 2 ability points because you don't invest into tier 3 spell, and you can't miss with a healing spells, while you can miss a stun spell.

His heal spell is dangerous. Your companions can eventually dispel it - though it's better to have Electro Bolt in your action bar as well. One rank 1 electro ball should be enough.

How to beat Omen
Abilities required to beat him: Break or Shatter Bolt (required), Heroic Motivation(optional)

He has 320k hp and it would take a month to hack him down if he didn't possess a very dangerous self-buff: Dark Omen. This ability is deadly both to you and your companions and to himself. When buffed with Dark Omen, his next strike is going to be devastating, killing anyone he strikes instantly, but while he has this buff, he takes roughly 100 times more damage as well.

Strategy is simple. Get Break, Shatter Bolt and Heroic Motivation. When he buffs himself with Dark Omen, use Break or Shatter Bolt on him and let your companions whack him for 50k+ dmg. You need to guarantee that your companions will hit him when he is buffed, so heal them yourself with Heroic Motivation - this way they will always be at full health and will be greatly motivated to hit him, instead of casting some stupid focus regen stuff.

For this mission I would recommend Veradux the medic in paladin's set and Amber the Assassin. Veradux can whack for 50k+ with his poison spell while Omen is under his Dark Omen buff, and Amber can in theory one-shot him if she is under Shadow Blend and crits with Master Strike on a buffed Omen.

How to beat Doctor Herregods
Skills required to beat him: Subversion(required), Break/Shatter bolt(optional)

He is easy.He has one million hp but he likes to heal himself for two millions. Get Subversion and beat him under 990k hp. Put subversion on him and let him heal himself and die.

Stunning him with Shatter bolt can make it easier and more controllable (remember, if you companions hit him when he is under Subversion, it will heal him and he might have no desire to heal himself for a whooping 2mil. So, have the lowest speed to ensure your Subversion lands on him in the end of the turn, when your companions have already hit him).

How to beat Sinjid's Shadow
Skills required to beat him: Block(required), Subversion(required), Regeneration(required), Supression(you always have it), Master Strike(optional), Reform(optional)

This guy is mean. He comes with two companions and has an attack that costs 100 focus but can instantly kill anyone.

To defeat him, you will need to have a point in Subversion, a point in Block, at least three points in Regeneration and optionally Master Strike and Reform. That basically means that you can beat him on lvl 10 - though it will take you quite some time if you don't have a way to hit him hard - that's the reason I would recommend Master Strike - it is a high precision attack and it also gives you Break skill. If you have extra ability points, put them into Regeneration to get it to 5, Master Strike and optionally invest one point into Reform - for dire situations.

The combat action bar setup is the following: Supression, two Blocks, Subversion. Two of your damage skills (Master Strike recommended), and possibly Reform and Block (you can use Shatter Bolt instead of Block, from my experience Block works more often though). Put on a set from Gallant the Paladin - it gives you plenty of hp, good protection and a healthy amount of speed - Master Strike depends on speed, so the more you have the merrier. Invest your attribute points into speed as well.

The strategy:just kill him now. You will always have a Block or Subversion ready against his super-power and you will be under Supression or Block against his melee attacks for 95% of time (use Break or Shatter Bolt if you Supression isn't ready yet). If you are low on health - use Reform, though heals from his super-power when you are under Subversion should be enough. If you are lucky enough your companions won't be killed too fast and they will deliver some serious damage to him as well.

There is an alternate option - you can use Disruption to drain his Focus points. His super-power costs 100 points, so as long as you can keep him under 100 points he can't use it. Though, then he will use Shadow Blend, Master Strike and other nasty things, almost one-shotting people. And eventually you will miss Disruption, and that will mean you are one man less. Can still work if you are lucky enough - I just personally love the first way. I was able to hack him like that on lvl 17.

Cheats/Hacks/Glitches

The game is easy enough even without using cheats. But in case you need some extra help, here they are:

'Eat items' glitch:

Go to your inventory screen

Pick up the item that has some stats from your inventory (attention: the item will be destroyed. You will gain the stats though)

Click on "options" button in the bottom of the game screen

With item as your mouse cursor, click on the red background of the options screen

Item will disappear, you will gain stats of this item
