The Sims has turned out to be a very popular franchisee ever since it was launched. The game has kept us entertained through two games and various expansions that have added tons on new content. The Sims 3 is now here and it offers lots of new features which makes the game much more better. Though the basic gameplay remains to be the same, there are tons of exciting things that makes socialization more fun and the gameplay also seems more balanced. There is whole new community to be explored, tons on customizations and new social interaction makes Sims 3 a must buy for Sims fans.

If you have never played the Sims before, here are a few basic things. The Sims are virtual people. In the game, you control a sim or a whole family of Sims. All the Sims have there needs and desires like the real people. They want social interaction, they get hungry, they go to the bathroom, take bath, they want to have fun by playing games, watching TV etc. The Sims can also interact with other Sims and form social relationships. They can chat with other Sims, flirt, tell jokes, kiss, get in a relationship, marry, have a baby etc. The main purpose of the game involves managing the lives of your Sims. The Sims go to work, they earn money called Simoleans which can be used for purchasing new and better stuff for there homes. Younger Sims go to school and you have to manage that they better complete there homework on time. There are a lot of things you can ask your Sim to do. You can make them read a book, learn to cook food, work out, play guitar and so forth. Each of these activities will increase the skill level of the Sims and can be quite useful while earning promotion in jobs. The Sims also loves the company of friends, they like to throw parties, celebrate birthdays and so forth. They speak in a gibberish language called Simlish and sometimes there thoughts are expressed by speech bubbles that may appear over there heads.

You can create your Sims from the scratch and the game gives you a lot of physical customization options. You can choose the colour of the skin, makes changes to the facial features like nose, brows, choose a hairstyle for your Sim etc. You can also select the general dress that your Sim might wear on various occasions. The create a style feature lets you create your own unique style by choosing from various patterns. Sims 3 has a new feature which also lets you choose 5 personality traits while creating the Sims. The personality traits range from Athletic, Charismatic, Kleptomaniac, Loner, Romantic, Artistic and so on. Each personality traits will have an impact on how your Sims behave and interact. Loner Sims will prefer solitude and will enjoy working alone while Athletic Sims enjoy working out and will be better suited for Military and Police jobs. So if you keep your Loner sim in solitude, his happiness level will increase. This also influences the interaction options that appear while interacting with other Sims or things.

Apart from the personality traits, there are a lot of other new options. Now your Sims will have wishes which can earn your reward points when the wish is fulfilled. There will be a Lifetime wish which is mostly job related like “Becoming an Astronaut”, “Becoming a Profession player”, “Becoming International Spy” and so forth. There are also small wishes that appear in due course of the game like “Buying a new Computer”, “Ordering a Pizza”, “Teaching your kid to walk” etc. All these and the career your Sims excel in will depend on the personality traits. Your Sims will leave for work in a specified time and a carpool arrives to pick and drop them. Sims who have a car have the option of going to work on there own vehicle. During work, you also have several options which depends on the type of job you have. For example in police work, you have the option of “Working Hard”, “Building Independent Case”, “Slacking Off” etc. These can be used to gel with your partner or impress your boss in order to get a promotion. You will also get a few opportunities along the way which the Sims can complete in order the impress the boss and earn rewards. These can range from reading a book, attending a convention etc.

Community Life is am important aspect of your Sims life now. In earlier games, you had the option of going to the market only for a loading screen to arrive and take you there. Now there is a whole new neighbourhood which you can explore as if you are living there. You can jog from one place to another, ride a bike or car or you can also take your partner while going to the theatre or a diner. There are a lot of stuff you can do. You can visit the shopping centre to buy books and food, go to the Spa to relax, go to library, beach, park etc. As you visit these places, you will meet and interact with a lot of Sims. You can also visit places like Graveyard where you may watch a ghost on your lucky day. Your Sims love to meet new people. You can visit your neighbours by visiting there homes and introducing yourselves. Once you have made friends, you can invite them to your home by calling them.

There are a lot of new possibilities when the Sims are together. You can dance with other Sims, hang out with them on the swimming pool and splash others or hold a breathing contest. You can also leave them and they will interact automatically based on there behaviour. You can flirt with others and make out. There are a lot of funny movements like flirting with other Sims in front of your partner which may result in a fight or slapping. It is always fun to see there expressions and listen to there gibberish talking. The Sims loves new stuff and they better stuff provides you with better results. A cheap bad will often result in a bad night sleep. Just like in real life, the toilets will often clog, sinks will break and you can either repair them your self or call a technician to do the work for a small fee. You can also a maid and if you have to take care of a baby, just hire a baby sitter to take care of it while you are away. Sometimes fire may arise while cooking a meal and you will have to call Fire Brigade. Thieves may come to steal stuff and you have to call the police to catch them. You also have to pay bills every three days. Failure to do so will result in repo man coming to your house and taking your stuff.

The Sims prefer a better house and a better lifestyle. The more money you have, you can use it decorate your house or yard by buying better stuff. The Sims can pursue other interests like painting or gazing at stars, writing a story. Not only will these increase the skill but it might earn your simoleans if you write the next bestseller or discover a new star. The Sims have a lifecycle and they will grow bigger as they move from toddlers to pre teens to teens to adults to elder and to eventual death. A sim dies in a unique fashion, you will see the Grim Reaper appearing and taking him away. The Sims have feeling and the loss of the loved ones will lead some moments of grief and you can see your Sims crying while remembering the dear ones. As your Sims gets more promotion, he will earn more and work on less days so you have enough time to engage in other activities. There is a Buy mode in the game in which you can buy stuff ranging from Kitchen Appliances to outdoor stuff. The Build mode lets you make changes to your house like extend the wall, create a new room, apply tiles, build a swimming pool and so on.

The game also has an online feature which lets you share your created contents and stuff. You can also download user created contents and many things from online store which costs real money. There are some stuff which seems to be missing from Sims 3 when you compare it with previous expansions. There are no pets in the game and these stuff could have been included. The game is highly scalable and it can work on a range of machines from a new to old ones. The Graphics of the game are great and the animations are perfect. The Community places are well modeled and the characters look great. The sound of the game is terrific and all that gibberish can sometimes seem very nice and funny.

Overall Sims 3 provides so much entertainment that it will keep you busy for months. There are a lot of things to do and lot of options to explore. The game will keep you glued to your screen for hours and will provide some very funny movements.

There were rumors that Microsoft will announce a new motion gaming controller for the XBOX 360 at the E3 but what was showcased a few minutes ago at the Microsoft’s E3 conference is totally next Gen. The new motion sensing system called Project Natal, is actually a camera that will use your movement and voice recognition to deliver a totally new gaming experience. Microsoft said “The Controller is YOU” and this is so true in the case. You will be able to control the games with your body movement, moving your hand, kicking around, jumping.

That’s not all, it will also be able to scan any object that you wish to use in your games. It also has facial and voice recognition so now you can control the XBOX 360 menus just by moving your hands. This will also recognize your face and will log you in automatically. All this provides a totally new and immersive way of interacting and playing the games. The good news is that it will be compatible with all the XBOX 360 consoles. The development kits of Project Natal will be sent to Microsoft’s partners today. There is no mention when this will become available though.

Most of the movie to game adaptations are not as half as good as you expect them to be. Luckily, Wolverine is a different. In the whole game, you will be cutting, slashing, mutilating enemies with your razor sharp indestructible claws. The game is full of gore and blood and you will see an arm, leg, head or bodies flying around. But nevertheless, all this violence makes it a fun game to play.

The game lets you take control of the Wolverine mutant as he travels to the jungles of Africa, Cybernautics Labs, Alkali Lake, Casino etc. The game has a pretty decent storyline which is based on the movie. As you pass through these locations, you will face a variety if enemies like Ghost soldiers, Bots, Wendingoes, Soldiers, Shifter and not to mention, the enemy bosses. You will also be solving some puzzles to travel from one location to another. The environment are wild but you won’t have any difficult in finding the way as your special vision can guide you.

The only weapon you will have in the game is your indestructible claws which can do a lot of damage in many ways. You have a lot of options when it comes to killing the enemies. The left mouse button will let you do light attacks while the right mouse button performs heavy attacks. You can also perform a lot of combo moves by these button combinations. Then Combo moves can be very effective while fighting a group of enemies. You also have an option of lunging at the enemies. Just target an enemy and if the view is clear and the distance is right, you can lunge at him and kill him. This method is quite effective and satisfying . Of course during some missions, you will have a jump at the flying helicopters and will kill the pilot in some bloody awesome fashion. You can also grab enemies and throw them off. You can even use the environment to your advantage. Just grab an enemy and throw him down the mountain or smash him in the nearby objects like wall spikes. One of the game strong points in the number of ways in which you can kill the enemy. Perform some cool combo move and you can see a small cut scene showing the head, arm, legs flying in all directions. The finishing moves are good and you can see the Wolverine ripping an enemy in half and chopping him

For most of the game, you will involved in hacking and slashing. In some of the missions, you might have to use stealth to move from one location to another. As you kill more enemies and gain more experience, you level will increase and this will unlock more combo moves for you to perform, increase your health and will give you points which you can use to increase your skills. You will also unlock four different fury attacks which can be used if you have a decent ‘Rage’ meter. Each attack can also be upgraded as one gains more levels. You will also find a few mutagens hidden in the game which will give you some special abilities like reduced damage, more damage from claws. You will also find a few health boosts and dog tags throughout the game which will earn you more experience. You will also be solving some puzzles as you move from one place to another but most of them are not quite tough. Your special vision can highlight the things which can be used.

Your hack and slash technique will easily work against most enemies but for some especially bosses, you will have to think which move is the best. In the earlier boss fights, you will basically have to lunge at him and try to kill. Some prototypes will catch you halfway and you will have to lunge at them from behind. While for some monstrous bosses, you will have to attack there arms, legs to bring them down. One of the biggest advantages in the game is that Wolverine’s health regenerates very quickly. In fact, for the whole game you will never die. If some monster smashes you to ground, you will be alive, you can take gunshots, laser shots easily. The only way you can get killed if you fall into the river while jumping between places. This makes the game quite easy.

The boss fights provides for some interesting game play. You will be fighting a huge robotic sentinel and this fight is great as the ending portion takes place in the sky. You will also fight some Marvel characters like the Blob and that will be interesting. The enemies AI is good but that won’t be the matter in the game as you cannot get killed and you can take on as many enemies as you want. The external environment in the game looks nice especially the African forest. The interiors may look a bit dull. One of the highlights of the graphics is that you can see real time damage on Wolverine’s body. You can also see him healing automatically after the fights. Take enough damage and you can actually see the skeleton which will then slowly get healed by muscles and skin. The character animations are nice. The sound of the game is pretty decent. Hugh Jackman has lended his voice for the Wolverine and that is the good part.

The game has five chapters which can be completed in 15-20 hours as you cannot die. There is no multiplayer and the game offers little replay value. You can play the game in different Wolverine costumes which you can unlock in the game but that doesn’t offer anything new. There are a few bonus missions that can also be played. The combat may seem a bit repetitive but it is the plus point of the game including the mini boss and boss fights. Overall, it is still one of the best movie to game transition which you will see.

When EA released Godfather game in 2006, many considered it to be quite similar to Mafia and GTA games. Overall it was a nice game to play. The Godfather 2 takes place from where Godfather left of. Even though the game is inspired by the movie, it has its own storyline.

The game lets you play as Dominic, who works for the Corolene family and Michael Corolene. The game takes place in three cities New York, Florida and Cuba. In the beginning of the game, you will have the job to take over New York and eliminate the other Don, Carmine Rosato. Just like in the previous game, you will have to take over and extort money from other businesses around which are owned by your opponents. To take over a business, you will have to threaten the owner. Each one will have there weak points which can exploit by threatening them with a gun, smashing there stuff, slamming them against the wall etc. The more you can threaten the owner, the more he will pay but each one will have a breaking point, if you cross that, he will attack and you will get nothing. This time, each business will be protected by guards and you enemies will send re enforcements if you attack there business. After taking over a business, you will have to defend it by hiring guards to protect it from a takeover attempt. Some of the places you will go will have a lot of mature content.

You will have your very own crew which will accompany you and help you. You will find people that you can hire in the Corolene Compound, your safe house and other business that you control. Each one will have a special ability like Demolition, Arsonist, Safe Cracker, Medic etc and you will require them in various situations. You can also upgrade the stats of the crew by investing money but there level will increase. Crew members can also be sent to defend when someone is attacking your business or they can also be sent to takeover or bomb a business. Bombing a business will close it for sometime. Each business will be part of a crime ring and you can get an extra enhancement if you control a crime ring which can be Prostitution, Drugs, Smuggling etc. All the crime rings will have some advantages with them, some will give you bullet proof vests, some will give you more ammo.

Don’t expect other Don’s to sit there and watch as you takeover there business. They will regularly attack you and sometimes even bomb you. Each of the Don will have some Made Men and killing those can weaken them. Each of the Made Man will have a Killing Condition and a Hideout. You can find this information by doing small tasks for people you will se on the street or meet somewhere. You can even do some tasks for someone to make some extra cash. Once you have taken over all the businesses of your opponent, there Don’s Compound will be unlocked. You will then have to go to the Compound, kill the Don and Bomb the Compound in order to eliminate the family. The Compound will be well guarded and you will have to plan your strategies in advance.

Unlike the previous Godfather, you will have to devise some strategy when attacking a mansion or taking over some business. Each will have several points of entry and you can plan out and take action accordingly. In some situations, it is better to take the Medic with you as he can revive your crew members when they are down. If a crew member is down long enough, he will get out of action for a few minutes. You can also perform some special missions for the Corrupted Officials or the policemen. These will earn you special favours which you can use during the time of need. Some of the favours can be the quick revival of team mate when he is down, cops are called off when you want, bombed businesses are built quickly. It is better to use them wisely when you need them. You can travel between various cities by going to the Airport. The story mode of the game will continue simultaneously and you will be doing some story missions as well.

You will have a lot of weapons in the game. These will include revolver, machine gun, sniper rifle, shotgun, Molotov’s, dynamite, bombs, baseball bat, crowbar etc. You can also find weapon enhancements at some businesses and the new weapons will then get unlocked for all your crew. You can even travel in Bullet Proof cars if you unlock that condition which triggers it. Hand to Hand Combat can also be performed and this is quite effective while performing certain things like throwing someone off the roof or slamming them against the wall. Each weapon also has a special execution associated with it. The game has a Don’s view which will show you a map of the area and all the businesses that it has.

You will travelling between destinations on cars and there will be a wide variety of them available in the game. You can hijack cars from other passengers by threatening them. If the crew member is there, he will also accompany you in the car. You can also ask your crew to shoot from within the car in a driveby. The Artificial Intelligence of the enemy is good. They will take cover behind objects and shoot at you. The AI of the crew can be a bit off sometimes. You might see them run around aimlessly.

The game does have a few drawbacks. The combat system is decent but sometimes i fired around 15-16 bullets at the enemy and he was still not dead. Most of the time, you will be moving from one place to another and extorting money. This is fun to do but it gets boring after a while. Most of the time, you will be doing the same thing over and over again. The game uses the DeadSpace engine so the graphics are pretty good. The sound of the game is also pretty decent.

Godfather 2 is a pretty good game but certainly not a game of the year material. Initially you will enjoy it but it gets boring after sometime. If you don’t like GTA, you won’t enjoy it. If you are fan of GTA like games, it does offer something different.
