Quick note: I won't be live blogging any of the press conferences today because I'll be airport bound here in just a few. Before then, I wanted to touch on the pre-Orion show Baroness performed. First off, the Metallica boys themselves went on stage to introduce the guys. then the band themselves became extra pumped and put on an incredible performance. Konami hosted their heavily hyped pre-E3 pre taped presser today, and it was frightfully SHORT!! I was expecting at least an hour of info, but we only got a measly 30 minutes. Actually, we got less than that if you decide not to include all the jabber about mobile gaming and soccer/futbol. Nothing against you soccer fans out there. No, not Lombardo, the OTHER Slayer drummer.

It's no secret ow that Dave Lombardo has been bounced from the Slayer lineup, allegedly over his concerns of how his payouts were being handled. Whether it was not enough or too infrequent is anybody's guess, but Dave's insistence in finding out got him turfed. Terrible timing too, since it happened right before the untimely passing of Jeff <img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/gamesmeetmetal/aHcd/~4/5q3LXehoe6k" height="1" width="1"/>

Behind The Scenes Of The Black Dahlia Murder Video Shoot

Like the title says, the BDM held a video shoot today for the song Goat of Departure, which is off their soon-to-be released cd Everblack. They taped it in their home town of Detroit at a bar beneath The Magic Bag, a venue the band has played a million times over. The bar itself was a pretty tiny space, and today it was a party ground for over 300 metalheads, myself included. And about damn time too! It's been too long since the world experienced some proper Polish damnation. Their new album is ready to go, and it is called THE SATANIST!!!! Knowing the band and their lyrics, the title seems a little too obvious. That's like if the Beatles ever got back together and titled their reunion album, "Two Of Us Are Dead." You know, just slightly too on the nose.

The end of next week starts a pretty big double header for the site. First, on Friday, June 7th, will be the return of Baroness to Detroit after their awful bus crash last year. I was really excited about Tuesday. The debut of a new system is a big day for any gamer, and I was prepared to enjoy Microsoft's press conference for their new moneygrabber. I made sure I had nothing to do, and I warmed up some fancy ramen noodles. You know, cheapo gamer food. Then, I settled into my comfy chair and waited to hear the awesome news.

An hour later, I was wondering if the <img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/gamesmeetmetal/aHcd/~4/fdkgf8NpGPA" height="1" width="1"/>

8-Bit Metal Mondays: THE RETURN!!!!!

Hello gang. It's been a few months since the site was active, thanks to a few things in my personal life going haywire. Instead of doing a long, drawn out thesis, we'll just hit some quick points. First off, I just fell into a pretty bad funk for quite a while. Employment has been shaky, as I've done a few odd jobs here and there to raise a few bucks. Once again, fret not as I'm not starving. <img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/gamesmeetmetal/aHcd/~4/bCKSLnr0Efw" height="1" width="1"/>

8-Bit Metal Mondays: Orion Is A Go

Now tomorrow, I'm supposed to pick up the new Metal Gear game, Rising: Revengeance. Now, I've played several demos of the game already, and I like what I've played. These past couple weeks, I've had the misfortune of buying two high profile video games that turned out to be total clunkers: Dead Space 3 and Aliens: Colonial Marines. DS3 was considered bland compared to it's horror-specific previous entries, while A: CO was flat out considered to be released too early in <img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/gamesmeetmetal/aHcd/~4/iIytiFz5Uag" height="1" width="1"/>

8-bit Metal Mondays: A Wii U We Will Have

Aw fuckbuckets. Been having a week of stressful job hunting, and I forgot my usual Monday duties. I personally blame the economy. Hell, I blame EVERYTHING on the economy. Of course, it can't fight back, and thus I feel superior. Speaking of which, I need a crown. Superiority requires shiny headgear!

As the title would suggest, I am now the the owner of Nintendo's console du jour, the Wii U. <img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/gamesmeetmetal/aHcd/~4/YYZqb0XlQSc" height="1" width="1"/>

8-Bit Metal Mondays: Cannibal Corpse Admit They're Old, Decide To Keep Being Awesome Anyways

See that up there? Beautiful, isn't it. Just makes you want to plant tulips, and use the blood of the forsaken for fertilizer.

Cannibal Corpse is putting put this glorious career-spanning box set next month on March 19th to celebrate their 25th anniversary. Fuck man, one of the founding death metal bands is a quarter of a century old. Okay, I'm saying Sony's being obvious about what they're hiding. Next time I'll pick a better euphemism.

So, the big S posted this on their Facebook earlier today.

Nintendo was really scaring me. With my impending purchase of a Wii U looming ever closer, I was beginning to already question what lay in store for the future. Then early yesterday morning, my fears were put at ease thanks to the above video. Mr. Iwata delivers the majority of a shit ton of new Wii U info, in the best nervously spoken English this side of Tokyo.

Welcome to 2013's first polarizing game. You'd think that someone was going around killing gamer's mothers the way people were crying about the changes made in this reboot of the super stylish series. Well, I'm here to give it to you straight. All the whiners can go stick it, as DMC is one of the best reboots out there, as it improves upon a lot of the old series's shortcomings.

Tomorrow morning, I 'll be visiting the store that goes through the process of the stoppage of games and picking me up my first game of the new year. That new piece of software is the Devil May Cry reboot, the game that left the strongest impression after trying it at PAX Prime. I've been hyping myself up for the release by buying the HD release of the older games as well as replaying the <img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/gamesmeetmetal/aHcd/~4/plgcwJonFf4" height="1" width="1"/>

Now Presenting..... Back when I had a job and not having to rely on unemployment, my work had a bunch of tv's set up in the lunch area. When it was my shift, I was generally watching Storage Wars. Never mind the fact that the show's about as fake as Snooki's intelligence. I was just hooked on what hokey shit these people wound up finding inside these aging lockers. Then I wondered if there was a way to adapt <img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/gamesmeetmetal/aHcd/~4/e4x5A2kQKwc" height="1" width="1"/>

<link rel="alternate" type="text/html" href="http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/gamesmeetmetal/aHcd/~3/e4x5A2kQKwc/now-presenting-game-chasers.html" title="Now Presenting..... Awesome. Middle of winter, and we have no heat. We're not ice cubes yet, but trying to sleep tonight is gonna be an adventure.

So, Hatebreed have finally gotten around to writing new tunes, and one of those songs just popped up in video form. The new tune is called "Put It To The Torch", and it sure does love fire. Lots of fire. Plus, hot flame dancers. Good combination says I. Well, this is pretty fucking sudden. Rob Caggiano, Anthrax's lead guitarist for many years (sans one reunion tour), has left the band. Now, there's no bad blood here. Both sides have already issued statements declaring so, and I'd say it's pretty legit. Rob did give his reason for leaving, and it's that he wants to return to the producer's chair. As well as being a damn fine guitarist, Rob is<img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/gamesmeetmetal/aHcd/~4/gr-e0096j5M" height="1" width="1"/>

<link rel="alternate" type="text/html" href="http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/gamesmeetmetal/aHcd/~3/gr-e0096j5M/holy-shit-rob-caggiano-leaves-anthrax.html" title="Holy Shit!
