The new streaming service will be available in over 100 countries during the launch. Apple TV+ will have its own original series, including See, starring Jason Mamoa. The series revolves around a future where humans have lost the ability to see, and the world has become much more primitive. A full trailer was shown for the upcoming series.

Apple TV+ will has a large selection of original series in the pipeline available at or soon after launch. This includes the return of Steven Spielberg's Amazing Stories, a new show based on pulp science-fiction stories Spielberg read as a kid. This show is a reboot of his show of the same name that ran from 1985-87 on NBC.

Developing...

One subscription will allow a whole family to download and play the included games. The announcements came as part of a stage presentation where Apple also detailed a few of the exclusives coming to the service. Apple said it will have 100 games, more exclusives at launch than any other service, and a dedicated Arcade tab with new games added monthly.

The presentation showed off three exclusives, from Konami, Capcom, and Annapurna Interactive. Konami is bringing back Frogger with a new game developed by Q-Games. Frogger will use items like bombs to clear obstacles and can turn into a Super Frogger. Capcom debuted Shinsekai Into The Depths, an underwater exploration game. And Annapurna announced Sayonara Wild Hearts for the service.

The event is ongoing and we expect new hardware and more to come.

Developing...

The biggest addition are the aforementioned Frontier Pursuits--specialized roles that come with their own unique activities, skills, and unlockable items. Players have a choice of three Frontier Pursuits. The Bounty Hunter role focuses on tracking down wanted criminals; the Trader can open up a shop and sell animal pelts and meat; and the Collector specializes in searching for valuable treasures. You can read a more detailed breakdown of each Frontier Pursuit on Rockstar's website.

As you complete your Frontier Pursuit's unique activities, you'll earn Role XP that will help you unlock new Role Ranks. That, in turn, will net you Role Tokens, special items, new skills, and even role-specific Free Roam events. Each Frontier Pursuit has a startup cost of 15 Gold Bars, but Rockstar has detailed a couple of ways to get each role's starting item for free on its website.

In addition to the Frontier Pursuits, Red Dead Online's summer update introduces a litany of new items, clothing options, horse-drawn vehicles, and horse breeds. You can now also change your character's appearance without resetting your progress, and Rockstar has added the ability to name any saved outfits.

Rounding out the update are a wealth of bug fixes and other gameplay improvements, including increased movement and animations speeds. You read read the full patch notes for Red Dead Online's summer update on Rockstar's support site.

On top of all the new content, PlayStation 4 players are getting another handful of timed-exclusive content. You can see the full list of those below. Meanwhile, all players who log into Red Dead Online between September 10 and November 18 will be automatically enrolled in the Wheeler, Rawson & Co. Club, which gives you access to new clothing, accessories, a special gun wrap, bonus cash, and more.

By 2016, the Terminator series wasn't in good health. The fifth movie in the long-running sci-fi franchise, 2015's Terminator: Genisys, had been a critical and commercial failure, and the planned sequels were suddenly in doubt. When it was reported that Terminator 6 had been removed from Paramount's release schedule, it looked like fans might have to wait for a long time for everyone's favourite time-travelling killer android to return to the screen.

But within a year, everything had changed. In September 2017, it was confirmed that not only was a new Terminator movie definitely happening, but the three people most associated with the series--creator James Cameron and stars Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton--would be back too. With Deadpool director Tim Miller on board to direct, suddenly the series seemed to be back on track. The movie was given a summer 2019 release date--subsequently moved back to November--and the title was confirmed as Terminator: Dark Fate.

But it's fair to say that for all the millions it has made at the box office, the Terminator series has not exactly maintained a consistent level of quality over the years. No one doubts the classic status of Cameron's movies--The Terminator (1984) and T2: Judgment Day (1991)--but none of the subsequent three films are remotely in their league. In fact, for many fans, the best post-Cameron release from the series was not a movie at all, but the TV spin-off The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

Nevertheless, hopes are high that Dark Fate can restore some glory to this 35-year-old series. The trailers so far are certainly action-packed, and the combination of new talent and series veterans will hopefully bring a mix of the familiar and the fresh. We'll find out in November--in the meantime, here's everything we know so far about Terminator: Dark Fate...

They'll be back

The two biggest star names in the Terminator series are back for Dark Fate--Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton. While Arnold is always a welcome addition to a Terminator movie, it's not that surprising that he might not appear; he's been in every movie to date with the exception of 2009's Terminator: Salvation, which had to make to do a CG-rendered younger Schwarzenegger. In Dark Fate, he's playing the older version of the classic T-800, who now seems to live in the woods but is brought back to help our heroes with their mission.

Linda Hamilton is a bigger coup, as she has not played Sarah Connor since T2, and she remains one of the most iconic female action heroes of all time. Hamilton and Schwarzenegger will also be joined by a third star from the T2--Edward Furlong, who played the young John Connor. It's been rumored that Furlong will appear as Connor as he did in T2, using de-aging technology to appear in flashbacks.

New faces

In terms of the new cast, Gabriel Luna plays Rev-9, the new main Terminator. Luna is best known for portraying Ghost Rider in the Marvel show Agents of SHIELD, and this latest version of the time-travelling killing machine has the ability to split into two seperate Terminator "units." Colombian star Natalia Reyes takes on the role of Dani Ramos, who is the target of Rev-9, while Mackenzie Davis (Blade Runner 2049) plays Grace, a cybernetically enhanced soldier who must protect Dani.

Who's the director?

Tim Miller is the director of Terminator: Dark Fate. This will be Miller's second feature directing credit, following 2016's hugely successful Deadpool. Miller had a previous career in visual effects, working on movies such as Thor: The Dark World and David Fincher's The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. He and Fincher also produced the recent Netflix animated anthology sci-fi series Love, Death & Robots.

King of the world

Let's face it, if James Cameron wasn't involved, we probably wouldn't be getting another Terminator movie so soon after Genisys. After the planned Genisys sequels were cancelled, producer David Ellison approached Cameron about returning to the franchise to make something worthy of his original movies. Cameron agreed on the proviso that Schwarzenegger came back too, and in September 2017, it was confirmed that the filmmaker would indeed produce Dark Fate and oversee its storyline.

Back to the start

We've known for some time that Terminator: Dark Fate will be a direct sequel to T2. This is also the approach that last year's hugely successful Halloween sequel/reboot took; ignoring all the badly received movies in-between to follow on directly from an acknowledged classic. Of course, this is no guarantee of quality, but Halloween proved that a narrative reset and a storyline focused on recapturing what made the original so popular can indeed produce a successful, popular movie.

What's the story?

The official synopsis for Terminator: Dark Fate reads: "27 years after the events of Terminator 2: Judgment Day, a new, modified liquid metal Terminator is sent from the future by Skynet in order to terminate Dani Ramos, a hybrid cyborg human, and her friends. Sarah Connor comes to their aid, as well as the original Terminator, for a fight for the future."

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Miller explained that the movie will deal more directly with the effects of Connor's actions in T2 than any of the other movies that have followed. "This will be more clear when you see the movie, but the first two movies really deal with time as a loop, what's happening is the same thing that happened before and everybody is fighting to ensure that happens again," he said. "And Jim had this lucky break that he only broke that rule at the end of Terminator 2 when Sarah destroys Cyberdyne, it's the first thing that happened that hadn't happened before, and so it was going to change the future--but no one knew how. And I don't think the movies that came after it really explored that in a clean way like I believe we are, with true consequences."

Is there a trailer?

There have been two action-packed two trailers released so far. The first appeared back in May, while the second was released in August.

What’s the release date?

Terminator: Dark Fate hits theaters on November 1 in the US, while UK audiences get it a week earlier, on October 23.

More to come?

A box office hits usually lead to more movies--and as Genisys proved, even a flop can't stop a hugely recognisable franchise for long. Whatever happens, there's little doubt that there will be more Terminator movies in the future, and if Dark Fate is a success, then it could happen sooner rather than later.

In August, Cameron told Deadline that he and the writers already have plans beyond this film. "We spent several weeks breaking story and figuring out what type of story we wanted to tell, so we would have something to pitch Linda," he said. "We rolled up our sleeves and started to break out the story and when we got a handle on something we looked at it as a three-film arc, so there is a greater story to be told. If we get fortunate enough to make some money with Dark Fate, we know exactly where we can go with the subsequent films."

Some big new releases from 2019 are included, such as Devil May Cry 5: Deluxe Edition for $42, Resident Evil 2 for $36, Kingdom Hearts 3 for $30, and Dragon Quest Builders 2 for $48. Fans of Yakuza will be pleased to see Yakuza Kiwami 2 on sale for $25 as well as Judgment for $39. If you missed out on Persona 5, you can get its Ultimate edition marked down to $51. And the latest From Software masterpiece, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, is discounted to $45.

The video features interviews with Lindleof and stars Regina King and Jeremy Irons and is packed with new footage. The promo focuses on the show's two rival mask-wearing groups--the police and a terrorist organization known as the Seventh Cavalry--and it looks like it will be as funny as it is violent and thrilling. Watchmen also stars Don Johnson, Tim Blake Nelson, Louis Gossett Jr., and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II. The show will premiere on Sunday, October 20--the release date was revealed by a tweet using the comic's distinctive Doomsday Clock. Check out the first trailer here.

Lindelof is best known for co-creating Lost with J.J. Abrams, as well as showrunning the acclaimed The Leftovers and writing the scripts for movies such as Star Trek Into Darkness and Prometheus. In 2017, he explained that Watchmen is not an adaptation of the comic book but a continuation of its story and themes.

"Those issues are sacred ground and will not be retread nor recreated nor reproduced nor rebooted," Lindelof said. "They will however be remixed. We are not making a 'sequel' either. This story will be set in the world its creators painstakingly built… but in the tradition of the work that inspired it, this new story must be original."

After three sets, Magic: The Gathering has departed the lands of Ravnica for a brand-new setting, 10 years in the making. Syr Carah, the Bold

First up we have Syr Carah, the Bold, a 5 mana-cost Legendary Creature - Human Knight with 3/3 power and toughness. The text reads:

Whenever Syr Carah, the Bold or an instant or sorcery spell you control deals damage to a player, exile the top card of your library. You may play that card this turn.

(Tap): Syr Carah deals 1 damage to any target.

So not only do we have the handy mechanic of exiling and playing a card from our library whenever we deal player damage, but we can safely snipe any target for one damage simply by tapping the card. Legendary Creature cards are also popular in the Commander format, so this might see some play there too.

Searing Barrage

Searing Barrage is a 5 drop Instant that deals a sizzling 5 damage to a target creature. But this card also sports one of Throne of Eldraine's brand new card mechanics, Adamant.

Adamant - If at least three red mana was spent to cast this spell, Searing Barrage deals 3 damage to that creature’s controller.

Adamant rewards your ability to play mana that matches the color of the card, so in this case playing at least three red mana of Searing Barrage’s 5 mana-cost will allow you to bypass defending creatures and take the damage directly to the player behind that target creature.

Claim the Firstborn

Look past the slightly disturbing artwork on Claim the Firstborn and we have a very handy, cheap sorcery.

Gain control of target creature with converted mana cost 3 or less until end of turn. Untap that creature. It gains haste until end of turn.

So for just one red mana you can claim one of your opponent’s creatures as your own, and have it attack on your behalf.

Worthy Knight

Lastly, here’s Worthy Knight, a 2 mana-cost 2/2 Human Knight, with a very useful trick.

Whenever you cast a Knight spell, create a 1/1 white Human creature token.

White cards are known for helping you line your playmat with buffs or defenses, and Worthy Knight is no different. For every Knight you cast, you can create a 1/1 Human creature token. Will it be fodder to help block incoming attacks, or perhaps a creature you will buff with additional power and toughness to help take down your opponent's defenses?

Throne of Eldraine releases October 4, with pre-release events giving you a chance to get your hands on the set early at your local gaming store later this month. Physical cards not your thing? Visit the world of Eldraine in Magic: The Gathering Arena, the classic trading card game experience on your PC.

The demo includes six playable teams: current Champions League holders Liverpool, Champions League runners-up Tottenham, German giants Borussia Dortmund, oil-rich Paris Saint Germain, Champions League record-holders Real Madrid, and transfer-banned Chelsea.

You can play regular matches between the six teams to get a feel for FIFA 20's on-pitch action, or take them to the streets in the new FIFA Street-style Volta Football game mode.

GameSpot sister site CNET expects the event to focus on hardware. That will include three new phone models, rumored to be the iPhone 11, 11 Max/Pro, and 11R. Those are likely to include better cameras and processors, and a new iOS13 operating system that is also likely to be highlighted. Apple is facing the challenge of spurring on customers to upgrade, so we'll see how these new phones stack up. We may also see new Apple Watch models.

Apple has streamed its events for years, usually through its own devices and Safari browser. This event will mark the first time Apple will stream through YouTube, owned by its tech competitor Google. You can watch that stream below or follow along through the usual means on Apple's website.

Apple has recently been expanding from tech hardware and software to entertainment and services, like its Apple TV Plus streaming service which will host original programming, and the upcoming Apple Arcade game subscription service. On that front it's also seeing increased competition, including from Google, which is preparing to launch its own Play Pass subscription.

Control has received critical acclaim since its release last month, but console performance--particularly on base PS4 and Xbox One--is a sour point, as the frame rate often drops to a crawl in its most hectic action sequences. Today's update promises to fix these problems across the board by improving stability on all platforms and improving "general frame-rate performance through optimisations made to multiple systems and content."

The September update patch notes also mention plenty of other fixes related to bugs and crashes, myriad progression issues, sound problems, UI behavior, and more. The update even adds an on/off toggle for both film grain and motion blur, and promises to improve map loading times.

"It's not often that a game invades my thoughts the way Control has," Peter Brown said in GameSpot's review. "I'm at the point where I want to consume every last thing it has to offer. And if I'm honest, it also makes me want to go back and replay Remedy's past games, too. Sure, it's a faulty metroidvania in some respects, but there are so many exceptional qualities afoot that Control handily deflects any momentary ire. I can't wait to take part in discussions about the game, to see what others have figured out, and to better understand where it all fits into Jesse's story."

On Monday, Shudder released one of the best zombie movies in the past 20 years. Train to Busan comes from South Korea, and the film follows a father and daughter on a train travelling from Seoul to Busan when a zombie outbreak occurs. Yes, there are so many movies about zombies, but none of them are as intense as Train to Busan. It's one of my personal favorite horror films of the 2010s.

Over on Amazon Prime Video, there is a new original series you might want to watch. It's called Undone, and it revolves around a woman who has a near-death experience. When she recovers, she realizes she has a very different relationship with time. While the synopsis for the series is a bit cryptic, the rotoscope animation style for the series is beautiful, and that's reason enough to check it out.

Before you get too excited, the new images aren't actually shots from the film. They are publicity pictures of Craig, co-star Léa Seydoux, and director Cary Joji Fukunaga, on location in Matera, Italy. Frankly, Craig looks like he'd rather be anywhere but posing for these pictures, but it's certainly a suitably glamorous-looking location for the next Bond movie. Check them out below:

Seydoux will reprise the role of Madeleine Swan from 2015's Spectre, and will be joined by Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw, and Naomie Harris as M, Q, and Miss Moneypenny respectively. The new cast members include Rami Malek in a villainous role, plus Billy Magnussen and Ana de Armas. No Time To Die releases on April 3, 2020--check out some on-set footage here.

The official synopsis was released last month. It reads: "In No Time To Die, Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica. His peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology."

In related news, former Bond actor Pierce Brosnan recently revealed he thought it was time for a woman to take over the role of 007. "I think we've watched the guys do it for the last 40 years," he said. "Get out of the way, guys, and put a woman up there. I think it would be exhilarating; it would be exciting."

"From the same people who brought you the bucket of chicken, comes the world’s first Colonel Sanders dating simulator," the game's bizarre product description says on Steam. You play as a promising culinary student as you try to date your classmate, Colonel Sanders. Will the Kentucky fried chicken mogul choose you to be his business partner? Or maybe something much more intimate? "Throughout your journey, you'll be faced with life-changing decisions that will affect your chances of friendship and love. But be careful! Your choices have real consequences with real animated characters' feelings at stake."

I Love You, Colonel Sanders! A Finger Lickin' Good Dating Simulator promises to feature nine lovable characters, a secret ending, secret recipes, cooking battles, battle battles, 11 herbs and spices, a dateable Colonel Sanders, and much more. If the writing in-game is as humorous as it is in this product description then the whole thing should be genuinely funny. The art style in the trailer is actually kind of amazing, too. And there's a dog.

Luke Smith, game director on Destiny 2, recently spoke with Kinda Funny to talk all things looting, shooting, and raiding. When asked what his lowest and most proud moments from working on Destiny, Smith is reluctant to use the word "proud."

"A thing the team created that I look at really fondly, I think, would probably be the first raid that we released [the Vault of Glass]," he explains. "I didn't get to experience any of [the launch] and I don't know what happened at the studio that day, but I remember logging in the night that it came out and people were still raiding." Smith jokingly says he was sobbing when a group in "some random Twitch stream said 'it's like a World of Warcraft raid in a shooter'."

As for his lowest point, that came after the "six-week honeymoon period" following Destiny 2's release. "That period for me lasted about a year, I think, of looking at the game and what was happening with it. Mark [Noseworthy] and I were working on some different stuff at that point, and feeling like your work is unfinished is a really bad feeling. And so I would say that period after the game came out and we really felt like our work was unfinished was a low point, and I think if there's anything people have taken away from that period and the way that we turned things around in Forsaken and the way that we've gathered ourselves up this year going forward, it's to finish what we started--like the metaphorical 'Never Again' tattoo Mark and I and a bunch of folks from the team have on us to not set the game adrift like that again."

Beyond this, Smith also spoke about the guns in Destiny 2, and how a comparable Weapons 2.0 update won't be happening. Armor 2.0 is, of course, releasing as part of the upcoming Shadowkeep expansion, drastically altering the way armor works by revamping various properties and giving you more customisation options than ever before, where universal ornaments mean you won't have to sacrifice looks in order to construct an ideal build. Smith says this won't be happening with weapons, though, because the guns are already pretty good.

"We're looking at weapons overall right now. There's a long, long, probably 2000 words, deleted scene from the director's cut [a three-part blog Smith posted last month] that's really looking at things like infusion in weapons and the relationships we want players to think of [with] their weapons in Destiny. We're not working on Weapons 2.0 right now," Smith says.

"It's the type of thing where we could bet on that right now, but what we really are looking at is how are we going to continue to grow build crafting. And that's the frontier we're exploring right now. I can imagine at some point taking a look at weapons down the road, but I think that's pretty far down the road. I think there's some stuff that we're going to continue to improve about weapons, like I've been seeing a bunch of chatter and sentiment around, like, 'We want certain weapons from certain activities to feel more special.' I think there's good feedback that I've been seeing there. But there's not an active, 'Let's overhaul weapons!' Nope, those are good. Let's figure out what the behavior we want players to have, like the emotion we want them to feel with their items, and figure out what the right thing to do with weapons is once we have that answer."

Destiny 2: Shadowkeep launches on October 1 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

According to SensorTower, which supplied the data, only Pokemon Go ($56 million) made more money than Pokemon Masters during its first week in the Pokemon franchise on mobile. Another important distinction that speaks to Pokemon Go's incredible popularity is that its $56 million in first-week microtransaction revenue came from only five markets, while Masters launched in 60+ places.

By comparison, Pokemon Quest made $3 million during its launch week; Pokemon: Magikarp Jump took in $1 million; and Pokemon Rumble Rush brought in $300,000 over its first seven days.

According to SensorTower's estimates, Japan was largest region for Masters in terms of grosses with $16 million. Almost $4.5 million came from the U.S., while microtransaction revenue in Hong Kong, Taiwan, and France made up the rest of Masters' top five regions based on grosses. Another noteworthy statistic is that 72 percent of microtransaction sales were on iOS; 28 percent came from Google Play.

This quick success for Masters is no surprise, as the game reached 10 million downloads worldwide in only four days.

Pokemon Masters is set in an island region called Pasio, where famous Pokemon trainers and their partner Pokemon have gathered for a Pokemon Masters League tournament. Unlike most traditional Pokemon games, you aren't able to catch your own Pokemon in Masters; rather, you recruit other Sync Pairs and form teams with them to take part in three-on-three real-time battles.
