August 9th, 1928 – March 15th, 2012
Patricia and her family came to BC in the mid Fifties from Maple Creek, Saskatchewan where she was born. With her former husband, Ed and their 5 children they lived in Cache Creek, Williams Lake, Ft. St. John and in the late 60′s Pat moved to Vancouver to attend UBC and earn her BA. Pat moved in 2003 to Maple Ridge where she was very happy. Predeceased by her son Mike, grandson Grady and two brothers, Ed & Pat.
Survived by her children Dan (Loretta); Pat, Ben (Karen) and Virginia; 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Also survived by her sisters Colleen (Rod) Pringle, Shirley Kealey and brothers John (Gerry) & Bill (Judy) Kealey.
Patricia was and is dearly loved and admired by all her family and will be sadly missed. She had a great appreciation for the arts and loved to paint, dance and played both mandolin and piano. Forever in our hearts. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 19th at 1:00pm, at Garden Hill Funeral Chapel – 11765 224th Street, Maple Ridge.

January 2, 1989 – May 4, 2012
Passed away at the age of 23. He is survived by mother Melanie Weber (Sean), father James Zirk, brother Austin and sister Brooklyn, as well as an extended family, friends and many loved ones. A viewing will take place on Friday, May 11th from 10 am-12 pm at Garden Hill Funeral Chapel, 11765 224th St, Maple Ridge. A Memorial Service will follow at 2 pm also at Garden Hill.

Justin is now at peace and finally free.

Albert Kurucz passed away April 21, 2012 at the age of 80. He was born in Sask., Canada on Nov 1 1931 to Rosalia and Mike Kurucz. He is predeceased by his parents, 5 sisters and 3 brothers.
Survived by 2 sons Todd and Terry (Marsha) and 2 loving grandchildren
(Aaryanna and Joshua) and 1 sister (Margaret) 3brothers John(Hilda) Edwin(Marjorie) Les (Signe)

Albert was a long-time Pitt Meadows resident. He was a volunteer fireman for 25 years. When he wasn’t fighting fires he was farming. You could always find Albert with his Morgan horse team driving his buggies in parades, weddings and graduations. When the snow would come he would use the team and give rides on the sleigh. You can see him in movies such as White Fang 2, MacGyver and Border town driving his team like only he could. His greatest gift in life was his family. He was known by so many and loved for his generosity and kindness. He will be missed but never forgotten.

Nov. 13, 1936 – April 21, 2012

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Bill. Predeceased by his son Dana in 2005 and his brother Larry in 1992. Survived by Barbara, his loving wife of nearly 54 years, his daughters, Shelly & Lynda (Brian), his grandchildren Jamie (Mike), Jeff, Lindsay, Colten & Michael. His brothers Gordon, Ron(Janice), Raymond,Wayne (Joy) and his sister Donna (Casey). Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, team-mates, colleagues & friends. Bill was born in Glenavon, Saskatchewan and was the 4th son of Albert & Jean Leech. His family settled in Hammond in 1950. He attended Maple Ridge highschool where he met his sweetheart Barbara whom he married in 1958. Early in his career Bill worked at the Maple Ridge Hotel, the Hammond Mill, C.P. Transport, Joe’s Garage before settling in for many years with Fraser River Pile & Dredge until a workplace accident forced him into early retirement in 1993. Still, he loved to tend to his garden and was always the first person to volunteer when a friend, neighbor or family member needed help. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Legion Branch 88 where he enjoyed the Saturday meat draws and having a beer with friends. Bill was an avid sports fan and loved the Lions, the Canucks & The Blue Jays. He was also a lifetime member of the Golden Ears Curling Club & still played in the Masters League on Mondays and Wednesdays. As he was usually the first to arrive at the rink he took it upon himself to have the coffee ready for the curlers and as such the coffee shop was affectionately named “Billy’s Coffee Shop”. Celebration of Life to be held at Burnett Fellowship Baptist Church, 20639 – 123rd Ave, Maple Ridge at 1:00 pm on Friday, April 27th. We encourage anyone who wishes to share stories or memories of Bill to do so at the service. A private family interment will be held prior to the Celebration of Life. Don’s family is sad to announce his passing at McKenney Creek Hospice on Wednesday, April 18th, 2012. Don was born in Fredericton N.B. and when he was 22 years old he moved to Quebec where he met and married the love of his life Audrey. He loved animals and he owned, rode and drove Morgan horses for 25 years. Don and Audrey both had long careers at Dom Tar Donnacona. They retired in 1989 and moved to Maple Ridge, B.C. to be close to family and loved ones. He was always an early riser. He was a long time member of Meadow Gardens Golf Club and enjoyed playing golf. He jogged miles every day into his seventies. He leaves to mourn: His loving wife of 57 years – Audrey, his 5 sisters – Joyce Lynch (& Rob) in Fredericton, Kathryn Coutts (& Chuck – deceased) in Port Credit, Jessie Reynolds (& John – deceased) in Fredericton, Jean Martin (& Erle – deceased) in Sutton Que., Margaret-Ann Smith (& Ed – deceased) and friend Tony in St. Catherines, and many loving nieces, nephews and friends. Winona was born in Mission, BC on April 14, 1947. She passed away at Baillie House in Maple Ridge, BC, on April 14, 2012. She is survived by her sister Carol Swan (Roger). A private family service is being held. May she rest in peace.

Glendon was born on August 5, 1926 in Kelowna, BC. He passed away at Holyrood Manor on April 17, 2012.

It is with profound sadness we announce the sudden passing of our daughter Leigh Horner, April 12, 2012.She is survived by her dear and only son Nolan, who was her world. Also her parents Ken and Anna Horner, brother Colby(Mindy) Horner and sister Karla. Grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends will miss Leigh. Special to Leigh was her dear and beloved friend Ron Turner of Surrey. Left behind is her dear old cat Theodore and sweet dog Pepsi. They were always there to comfort her and brought her so much joy and laughter. Those of us who loved Leigh will miss her dearly and keep her memory forever in our hearts.

A family and friendship tea will be held at the Horner home May the 5, 2012 (2-4) pm. All who wish are welcome to attend.
