The problem that many people face when attempting to duplicate the system I follow is time. It isn’t common that many people are fortunate enough like me to be able to stay at home and do this type of work full time. Most people, possibly such as yourself, have to devote many hours each week to a day job. This creates a huge challenge because much time is needed to build.

The site building process isn’t really all that difficult. In my opinion, while keeping things simple, there are three steps towards building a profitable site. These three steps are:

1. Keyword / Topic Research
2. Content Creation
3. Site Design / Search Engine Optimization

For me, and possibly even for you, Step One and Step Three come pretty easy. For me, the keyword / topic research is very fun. It’s like picking apples off a tree. I find it rewarding when I pick excellent quality apples because doing so yields amazing rewards. Site Design / Search Engine Optimization is also easy because I have a stash of designs that I created and use. When I launch a site, I simply change a few colors, font family styles, and make a few adjustments to my layouts and I am done. Granted, it does help a lot in my line of business knowing HTML, CSS, and PHP.

With that said, the time killer is content creation. Writing high quality and unique content takes a lot of time. When I first started creating niche sites I would write the content myself. As my sites continued to generate money, I started to invest a portion of the earnings into hiring free lance writers. Doing so allowed me more time to devote to the things I enjoyed doing: keyword research and template design.

It is totally optional for me to hire free lance writers, but I choose to because I can honestly afford to and to be Frank, I am somewhat lazy and I find writing content to be a chore! However, if you are in a position where you simply don’t have TIME to write content, Craigslist.com might be the perfect solution for you.

I couldn’t help but notice a few days ago that Craigslist.com has a classified section called Writing / Editing / Translation. I decided to investigate this section and to my surprise I found it full of ads for free lance writers. While most of these ads were mainly for resume writing, college papers, and basic word processing, these free lance writers are all very capable of writing blog and website content.

After spending about an hour replying to close to ten ads in Craigslist.com, I had three people contact me back with interest in writing content for me. One person agreed to charge me $5 dollars for 500 words. Another person agreed to charge me $3 dollars for 250 words. The last person agreed to write as many words as I wanted at a rate of two words per penny!

The great thing about the new discovery is the fact that writers are writers. They don’t have to be bloggers or site masters to do their job. That, quite honestly, is your job. All you need is someone to write excellent content for you at an affordable rate. In my case, I hired all three writers and have instructed them to write about keywords I have researched and submit the content to me via email. From there, I will copy the content and paste it into NOTEPAD and convert their content into standard HTML. If you are too busy, bored, or even lazy to write your own content and would like to tap into an excellent resource abundant in free lance writers, I would strongly recommend checking out the Writing / Editing / Translation category in Craigslist.com. As long as the writer can send you the content via email, you can live in Atlanta and they can live in Washington. In other words, location doesn’t matter and because of that, you can search as many cities as you want for hired help.

In this article, I am going to show you how you can easily build a micro niche lawn care website that can be used to target localized traffic in your home town. The difference between what I am going to show you today, compared to other articles I have written covering this topic is how you get paid.

Typically, in the past, when I cover the topic of building micro niche websites, the method of earning money is with using programs such as Google AdSense. The object to the game with building micro niche websites is to develop a site, write content, and rank for profitable keywords that yield a high monthly search count. In my experience with doing keyword research, finding keywords that closely match this perfect blend can be challenging.

So what would happen if you build a site based off researched keywords that have a decent volume of monthly searches, have a very low level of competition, but don’t pay very well? Well, I believe that the result would end with the site earning much less compared to other micro niche websites that target keywords that yield a higher per click. That’s obvious right? With that said, let’s think out of the box for a moment. It is easy to have narrow vision on making money online. In actuality there are many ways to make money online. Furthermore, there are many ways to make money online with a micro niche website. It isn’t always about Google AdSense, right?

Here is the idea I have and want to share with you. Recently, I hired a lawn care guy to start cutting my lawn. I found him because he left a flier in my mailbox and I decided to call him. Is that effective marketing? Maybe so… but in my opinion, that is a lot of hard work to travel across town inserting fliers into mailboxes all day. But, the lawn care guy really doesn’t know any other form of marketing. Also, it is obvious that he doesn’t know about search engines, especially Google. That is where you kick in! And no… you’re not going to pitch him on building a website for him. I mean you can, but that in itself leads to an entire different article.

The idea is to build a micro niche website that targets localized lawn care keywords within your home town. Unlike other micro niche websites that earn money using Google AdSense, the localized lawn care site that you build will earn money when lawn care businesses pay you to be listed on them. Your goal is to build a localized lawn care website and get the site to rank well for localized keywords typical of what people would search for in Google to find lawn care businesses in your local home town. Once that happens, then you have created something that lawn care businesses need: An affordable and effective place to advertise their business.

Once you have built and established ranking in search engines for the localized keyword phrases you want, then it is simply a matter of contacting the local lawn care businesses and presenting the amazing advertisement opportunity you have for them. You can easily present them with traffic reports that illustrate how much traffic your site receives. Most importantly, you can illustrate the level of “Quality Leads” your traffic can generate for them. From there, you would need to already have an established pricing structure. My suggestion would be to create your site as a simple one page design and offer 25 ad spots available and charge more money for the higher positions and decrease the price for the lower positions.

An Example Could Look Like This:

If you do the math, and assuming I did the math correctly, this one simple webpage could make a maximum of $1,625 per month, based off the pricing structure above. All this, because you created a site that provides an excellent medium for lawn care businesses to effectively advertise their localized lawn care services.

Here is one thing that may concern you, and believe me, it concerns me too. I hate cold calling. I am NOT good at sales, nor am I good at CLOSING DEALS. But that is ok! If you are like me, then you may find it a huge challenge to fill these ad spots up. Recognizing this is half the battle.

The solution: Ask a friend or family member to do it for you and offer them a percentage of the sales or an incentive to do so. For example: Let’s say that you’re a stay at home mom, very passive, and shy. You say to yourself, “There is NO WAY, I am going to pick up the phone and cold call!” Instead of stressing about it, ask your husband or boyfriend to do it each evening when he gets home from work. Tell him, “Honey, if you close these sales for me, you can get the 60 LCD Flat-Screen you have always wanted!”

The key element to realize is that you may be very good at doing what you do, such as building amazing websites. But you might not be good at doing other things, such as calling a lawn care professional with the aim of selling him an advertisement. My advice is for you to do what you do best, and then to find other people who do the other things best that you need in order to make your idea work. If you don’t have any problems with selling, then that just means more money in your pocket.

In summary, the concept behind this idea is to take a skill that you already know very well: Building Micro Niche Websites, and using this skill to earn money in a different way other than Google AdSense. By doing this, you will discover a world of keywords that deliver amazing amounts of traffic without worrying whether the AdSense clicks pay good or not. Also, doing something like this gives you the freedom to control and KNOW exactly how much your site can potentially make month to month. One last thing to mention is the fact that this method can work for many different localized business niches: Car Sales, Computer Repair, Day Care, Home Improvement, Heating and Air, House Cleaning, Landscaping, Plumbing, and more.

Additional Tips On Ranking

Here are some additional tips that can totally help you with ranking and dominating your localized search result page for lawn care keywords. Observe the screen shot below:

The first section comes from Google Maps. Did you know that local businesses are able to submit their business into Google Maps for free? When they do, their business pulls up on the map listings above the organic listings. You can get your micro niche lawn care web site listed here too! All you need is a physical mailing address and a phone number. I understand that you might not want to use your own mailing address. The solution: Get a PO Box, or a UPS Store Mailbox. I understand that you might not want to use your own telephone number. Solution: Get a free telephone number from places such as GrandCentral (coming soon). In the mean time, you can search for GrandCentral Alternatives. The process of getting your business registered and listed in Google Maps takes about two weeks. Once again, it is free and eventually you will take a spot on the map.

The next section is the Sponsored Links section. This is controlled with the Google AdWords Program. You may want to consider throwing in $50 to $100 dollars into the Google AdWords Program and at a minimum, at least observe the cost to include your site in this section as well. You may be surprised to discover how cheap the current bids are.

The last section is the organic ranking. I have provided you with many previously published articles that provide amazing tips on how to gain superior organic ranking. However, let me summarize a few things of importance.

Domain Name Selection

Don’t believe the hype. Choosing a domain name does influence your search engine ranking. Ideally it is best to choose a domain name that matches your target keyword phrase exactly. Examples would include: YourTownLawnCare.com, Your-Town-Lawn-Care.com, LawnCareInYourTown.com, Lawn-Care-In-Your-Town.com. In reference to the use of hyphens, I always select in this order:

1. YourName.com
2. YourName.net
3. Your-Name.com
4. Your-Name.net

Typically, I never purchase .org, .info, .me, or .biz domain names because they really don’t hold a lot of value and in my experience I don’t see a lot of these domain names pull up well in the search results.

Content Writing

Writing excellent and unique content is very important. The trick to writing content geared towards ranking for keywords is balancing a natural writing style with lightly packing in keywords and coming in un-detected by Google’s AI. Google is very smart and they can sniff out un-natural writing very easily. Some of the things that Google looks for are examples such as this:

Example #1 - Keyword Stuffing / Un-natural Writing:

The above is an example of keyword stuffing. Google does not like this because it doesn’t reflect natural writing and it is obvious that the content is geared towards targeting the keywords rather than providing anything useful for end users. A better way to write content that is useful while also balancing keyword targeting would be something like this:

Example #2 - Balanced Keyword Targeting / Natural Writing:

The second example serves the same purpose as the first example. The primary difference is the fact that the second example is well written, natural, and does an excellent job explaining about the purpose of the site and what people can expect to see while also balancing the strategy of keyword targeting.

Keyword Density

Keyword density is another element that Google pays a lot of attention to. In my experience, the sweet spot keyword density percentage should be around 1.5% to 2.5%. Meaning whatever your primary keyword phrase is that you are targeting, you should NOT take up more than 1.5% to 2.5% of your actual content. If it exceeds this percentage, then it can put your content and ability to successfully rank for your keyword phrase at risk. You are welcome to use my favorite place for inspecting content keyword density. 

The other element with keyword density is in how you choose to use your keyword phrases in your content itself. Various levels of WEIGHT are placed on where and how your keyword phrases are found within your content. In my experience, the most important areas to have your primary keyword phrases in a standard HTML document include:

1. title Tag
2. meta description
3. meta title
4. H1 and H2 Tag
5. a title Tag
6. img alt Tag
7. Strong Tag
8. permalink / URL

Let’s put all these elements into a simple example HTML document. Please observe below:

In the above example, you can see how I have used the primary keyword phrase is the areas of the HTML document where they count the most. Your web page title should match your primary keyword phrase, your meta description and meta keywords should have an your primary keyword phrase included, an image should be named your primary-keyword-phrase.jpg, your image mouse over text should be your primary keyword phrase, your actual primary keyword phrase should be hyperlinked and the alt (or also referred to as your mouse over text) should be your primary keyword phrase, somewhere in your HTML document another instance of your primary keyword phrase should be encased in strong tags, your domain name itself / the permalink should be your primary keyword phrase.

This is SEO! That is why I have said many times in the past that people tend to over-complicate SEO. Creating a search engine friendly web page is nothing more than using proper HTML code and carefully writing content in a way that is natural but also creatively packs in the keyword phrases you want to target. Of course, the last elements include submitting your site into Google, Yahoo, and other search engines and registering your site with services such as Google Webmaster Tools and Yahoo Site Explorer. Additionally, link building is something that you should strongly consider doing as well.

When you think about making money online by trading, I am sure that you may be thinking about day trading, investing into stocks and bonds, and things like that. That isn’t what I am doing to tell you in the post. Instead, I want to show you how you can take full advantage of the popularity and money found within this niche.

The idea is very simple and it could be easily executed assuming that you do everything I suggest in this post. Like everything I do, it all ties into creating a WordPress blog. Why? The idea behind the make money online trading niche is to create a blog that submerges within the niche. You don’t have to become a day trader to make money online trading, all you have to do is create a micro niche blog and seat the blog within.

How Do I Start?

To begin the process, you’re going to need to purchase a very good domain name. Luckily, because we are dealing with such a specific niche topic, finding a domain name shouldn’t be too difficult. Why Is This Micro Niche So Hot?

Now before I go off and explain more about all this, I want to take a moment and explain to you a few things about why I think this is a hot niche to get your hands in. Again, this isn’t about becoming a day trader or a stock investor. This is about creating a site that caters to people who have their knees deep into this niche.

The first thing I look for when I attack a micro niche is the potential for traffic, the potential for search engine ranking, and the potential to earn a lot of money through monetizing content and or creating content geared towards promoting products and services.

With the Make Money Online Trading niche, all elements add up very nicely. There is a ton of traffic, the competition is somewhat low, there are tons of longtail keywords to target, and most importantly there is a lot of revenue being invested and spent within this niche.

For example, let’s take a look at Google AdWords. As always, I use the Google AdWords Keyword Tool to evaluate the potential earnings I can make by monetizing content using Google AdSense. My findings in this report are very promising. Take a look at this screen shot:

In this screen shot you can see that the search term: make money online trading is a very decent keyword to target. The estimated average CPC is strong, coming in at $9.05, the search count - while it might seem a little low - is perfect for coming in under the radar with a very profitable niche blog. Many times I have said that is it better to gain high rankings for search terms with lower search counts compared to ranking on page two for terms with higher search counts. With that said, looking at how there are matching domain names available for this keyword phrases, and while seeing that AdWords advertisers are eager to pay a lot per click… this all leads me to believe that this is a micro niche topic worth attacking.

The next thing to look for is the actual search result page. In this case, I believe that this result page is weak and a new site can easily be adding into the higher ranks without much effort. It isn’t hard to gain high ranks in Google, but mind you… it does take a little work and a little bit of elbow grease. Also, it never hurts to have some blogger friends who can help out with hooking you up with some backlinks and blog reviews. With that said, let’s take a look at the search result page for the term, make money online trading.

How To Understand The Search Result Page Rankings?

The search result page reveals a lot of information. Unveiling this information is one of the things that I try my best to teach you how to see. The first thing to look at is if Google AdWords advertisers are bidding for position on the page and to see if there is a high volume - or overflow - of advertisers. This can be observed by simply clicking your refresh button. If the ads rotate and change constantly, then there is an overflow of advertisers bidding for position. In this case, there is quite a few advertisers bidding for position.

The reason why I check this is because I believe that if competition is too heavy on the search result page, then Google AdWords advertisers will turn to advertising on related and relevant blogs - the blog that I am suggesting to be created. Part of the reason why I make so much money using Google AdSense is because a large amount of my research goes towards seeking out micro niches that actually need publishers to seat blogs within the niche itself.

The second thing I look for is the SEO strength of the competition on the search result page. To keep things simple - You’ll thank me, because I really feel like most SEO blogs over complicate things - I typically look for a few basic things. The first thing I look for is the domain names. In my experience, I have determined that Google places a little bit of weight with domain name / keyword phrase matching (example: keyword phrase: make money online trading pairs up with www.make-money-online-trading.com). In this case, nothing even comes close.

The third and forth thing I look for is to see if titles and descriptions have matching keywords. In most cases these will always match up, but I have found that top rankings in the search results page are very weak if they don’t have a nice blend of all three elements: Domain Name, Page Title, Description.

The forth thing I look at is the quality of the search page results. Make no mistake, Google wants to deliver quality to their users. So if you - as the blogger / online publisher - can produce better quality than what Google already has ranked on the page, then in time, Google will find your content and eventually you will be rewarded and ranked very well for your publishing efforts. Let’s take a closer look at the results on this page. I will list the first six below and provide you with my remarks on each:

1. www.perkel.com/daytrade/index.htm - This listing is a very popular and may be hard to take; however, it does hold weakness due to being weak in the ranking attributes.
2. stocktube.blogspot.com/2009/02/perak-pr-bn-and-gamuda-its-all-about.html - This is a new listing from a blogger using Blogger.com. This post dates on Feb. of 2009. This indicates to me that Google is struggling to find strong content for this page.
3. stocktube.blogspot.com/2009/03/hail-new-king-najib-great-and-his.html - This is a double listing from the same blog found on the second ranking. Once again, these two spots are easy take over based off the weak SEO, and the fact that Google seems to be struggling with finding content on the Internet.
4. tradermike.net/2004/06/trading_101_recommended_reading_how_to_make…/ - This listing is very old and out-dated. This page was created on June of 2004. The information found on this page is very likely to be out of date.
5. www.businessweek.com/1996/15/b3470136.htm - Similar to the above listing, this page is 13 years old, dating back to 1996.
6. www.amazon.com/Make-Money-Trading-Business-foreword/dp/159280308 - This links to a book being sold on Amazon.com which can easily be deranked simply by doing a better job promoting the book yourself.

Understanding how ranking appear in the search result pages is very important.

This is something that I have tried for a long time to teach people. Needless to say, it is something very hard to teach because observing listings in the search results is something that almost comes second nature to me. To help you gain a better understanding of how rankings appear in the search results, watch this video below:

Now prior to going this far, I always make sure that at a minimum, there is potential to make money using Google AdSense. Google AdSense always is my preliminary metric for pushing forward on a micro niche topic to attack. If I see that money can be made with Google AdSense, then that allows me the clearance to invest more time into research. Consider that a safety net, meaning… if all else fails with my micro niche project, I can always default and resort to using Google AdSense - which in many cases, isn’t a bad thing at all! With that said, it just happens that there are many available income streams available within this niche.

One thing to consider is the fact that people who day trade and invest into stocks and bonds, etc. are knee deep into it, and usually are very obsessive with being good at it. This means that they are willing to invest money. Money gets invested into books, software, various training courses and programs, and even membership sites. All of which have affiliate programs for you to join and profit from.

The idea behind creating a micro niche blog targeting the make money online trading niche is to provide a high quality resource that can help people learn more about making money online trading, and ultimately become good at it. The second idea behind creating a micro niche blog targeting this niche is to produce high quality / useful content for people within the niche. Consequently, the stock market is very abundant in information, news, and opinions - thus making it a perfect topic to blog about due to the fact that there is an endless resource of information available to write about.

To summarize things in this article, the key is to:

1. Land an excellent domain name that balances SEO with brandability.
2. Write excellent quality and keyword rich content and monetize it with Google AdSense.
3. Market and promote affiliate based products that can help people become good at making money online trading.
4. Rank well in primary as well as longtail keywords in the search result pages of search engines.
5. Engage the niche and grow readership by creating profiles within all the major social networks.
6. Create and grow a powerful mailing list using programs such as Aweber so that it gives you an effective way to promote and sell affiliate products that earn you money.
7. Create an online personality or spokesperson for the blog, a character that people will appeal to and trust. This can either be yourself or a fictitious character.

There you have it. This is my blueprint model to how you can make money online trading. It wasn’t what you expected, but I know that after reading this, you are probably very pumped and motivated to take this information and to roll with it. Also, keep in mind, this blueprint works for all kinds of micro niche topics.

Take some time to think about topics that may interest you. Research these topics in Google AdWords Keyword Tool and see what kind of money is being paid per click. Also consider how much interest is there with the topic by judging the search count. Additionally, check out the search result pages and observe how strong or weak your competition is. Last, but not least, take a look at domain name availability. If you take your time, and build micro niche sites based off the strengths of most if not all of these attributes, you are sure to find success.

My old blog design had a lot of clutter. Over time, my blog had become disorganized and I feel it was overwhelming to first time visitors. I use Google Analytics to observe my traffic, and the reports show me that a very large percentage of my overall traffic are first time visitors. It is important for me to focus on these people and convert these visitors into subscribers. My old design presented way too much information all at once and I feel that was the large reason for having a low conversion of first time visitors into RSS or Mailing List subscribers.

The new design has a lot less clutter and more focus on promoting my subscription options and earning income by monetizing the content. Visitors are welcome and encouraged to subscribe to my RSS Feed or my Mailing List. Both of which are totally free to join.

My sidebar is very simple and the information presented is very straight forward. The top section is my live stream. I have removed the stream box from my header and have reduced the size of the box to fit nicely in my sidebar. I really enjoy streaming live on the Internet and have been thrilled to see the increased number of people watching. Streaming is something I will continue to do and eventually I will open up the chat room feature and invite readers to Live Shows.

Below my live stream box is my subscription section. Visitors can easily subscribe to my blog at no charge. They have two options to subscribe: RSS Feed or Mailing List. Below my subscription section is my Sponsors section. This section advertises banner ads from sponsors who rent ad space on my blog. I would appreciate that you take time to visit my site sponsors as they help fund my blog and provide compensation for my time invested towards helping you.

The next three sections are very self-explanatory. Most Recent Posts, Most Recent Comments and a newly added section called Recently Popular. The Recently Popular section keeps a tab on the daily page views of my articles. The articles that have been viewed the most rank higher in this section.

Of all the blogs I own and operate, this blog is the most popular and has the most traffic, yet it earns the least amount of money. I have talked about this a few times in the past and a large reason why this blog is weak in earnings is because of the topic. One of the ways to earn more money would be to push and promote products that supposedly help my readership learn more about earning money online. Unfortunately though, many these products are scams or simply don’t work. Secondly, my readership tends to be very tight with their money, so when I do review products that I feel are legitimate, typically I have a super low conversion, thus making the effort a waste of time and energy.

To help increase earnings, I have removed many things on the blog that have been performing poorly. One of these items include the massive HostGator.com push. I converted many of my subscribers and today most of my subscribers who joined HostGator.com using my referral link are now HostGator.com affiliates themselves. Continuing to advertise HostGator.com as heavily as I was in the past is a waste of resources, space and time.

As a new plan, I will continue to use HostGator.com’s Affiliate Program but instead, I will be introducing more custom services that target new visitors - rather than force feed existing ones - and blend in HostGator.com’s web hosting services. These are things I have done in the past and have proven to be very successful for me and with the new plan soon to be in action, I predict a much higher conversion rate compared to the past.

Another method of earning additional money on the blog is using Google AdSense. In the past, my AdSense earnings on this blog have ranged from $200 to $400 per month. My new design makes use of the Google AdSense program and my ad positions are optimized to target search engine traffic. Last month I decided to remove AdSense so that I could push and promote more of my own internal services and products. The results ended poorly. For whatever reason - which I have my own speculations - regular visitors of my blog tend to not purchase products or services I promote. So instead, my plan is to utilize my new visitor base and create a balanced action between gaining new subscribers and earning money.

My goal is to continue to grow my advertisement services on the blog. I have three banner advertisement sections where advertisers can promote their business, products and services. The current positions are the 728×90 found in the header, the 468×60 found directly above the post titles, and the 300×250 located near the top on the sidebar. Each section has a maximum of 5 rotations. The cost are as follows: 728×90 = $149.95 / month, 468×60 = $69.95 / month, and the 300×250 = $99.95 / month. The topics I write about on my blog are going to expand slightly. Ultimately, my goal is to earn money while writing and publishing information designed to help you learn more about making money online. I struggle to find ways to gain compensation for my time invested. To help counter balance my time invested, I am going to write articles that monetize better than prior. Also, the post frequency on my blog may increase as well. The next thing I want to address is commenting. As much as I enjoy receiving comments, I have noticed that overall commenting has been at an all time low. Not only on my blog, but others popular blogs as well such as John Chow and ShoeMoney.

Lack of receiving comments may soon result in the removal of the ability for people to comment on my blog. I encourage, value, and often reply directly to comments; however, If people do not want to leave comments on my blog, I can respect and understand that. With that said though, if comment counts don’t increase, I will need to optimize the blog to make better use of the dead space. One of the things that I am personally going to do is try to write content in a way that encourages people to leave comments and to also do so responses within the comments.

If you had an 18 year old son or daughter just out of high school, with honors and scholarship offers, and they came to you and said, “Dad, I do not think I will go to University. I want to be like you. I am going to start a blog and make my living online.” What would your reply be?

My daughter turned 3 years old today and my son will be turning 11 years old on the 14th. One thing that many people ask me is how do I make money online. This can be answered in many ways, but the way I make money online may be different that others. 

I can give people advice, I can give people answers, and I even try my best to make a blueprint models of how to do it. But with that said, one of the elments that drives me, puts fuel into my tank, and gives me the competitive nature and agression towards earning a very nice living via the Internet is my kids. 

When my son was born, I was a complete idiot… a loser, a complete fuck up (excuse my language, but it’s true).  When he was born, I was instantly a changed man. I wanted nothing more than but to support my son and give him the most amazing life that I was capable of giving. And I did this and continue to do so. 8 years later, my daughter was born and once again, it was instant love. 

My strength, motivation, and power to push forward at flank speed while destroying obstacles and elimating elements that blocked my path grew to unmeasureable levels. For years I worked in a job that paid the bills and was condusive towards survival, but I wanted more. I wanted more than to be an element towards my kids survival. I wanted to be in their lives. I wanted to be at the baseball games, I wanted to be at home with them, and most importantly I wanted to be in their pressence at all times. That is why I am who I am and that is why I do what I do to earn money to keep my family operational. 

My job is amazing. My job allows me the freedom to do anything I want. Consequently I want nothing more but to be with my kids and be there for them as a father. These next few days are very special to me because these days mark the birthdays of two of my four wonderful kids. My kids are why I breath air, my kids are why I burn fuel to jettison myself into an agressive and highly competitive mindset, that has led me into amazing success.

With that said, dearest Garry, III and Jaymie… I burn fuel and live for you. Happy Birthday. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

The reason why I wrote this post is because this is the exact same thing I was doing this morning. Long story short, my blog has been online for a few years, it has a PageRank 5, and I never really do anything to piss off the Google Gods. All in all, this is a very healthy blog. With that said, even though I have a lot of RSS subscribers, the amount of traffic I have from regular readers only puts a dent compared to my overall traffic flow on the blog.

On a typical day, my blog receives about 65% to 80% of its traffic from search engines. Depending on what I write from time to time and how bad I piss people off, these numbers do vary. But overall, this has been the average for quite some time. Having said that, I try to make as much of an effort as possible to see where within search engines my traffic is coming from (I.E. which keywords and keyword phrases).

When I observe my traffic patterns and discover which blog posts are getting hit hard by search engine traffic and which keywords people are typing into the search bar to find them, I’ll go back to my post and attempt to edit the post in a way that enables me to improve a call to action. That call to action can be something such as editing the content slightly to promote either an affiliate based product or one of my own. Or, it can be as simple as putting up my mailing list opt in form manually. Take a quick look at this screen shot:

If you take note of #12 on the list, this is a post titled, Make Money Online by Creating WordPress Landing Pages. I wrote the post on Nov. 2nd, 2008. This was long before UniqueBlogDesigns.com created and launched their amazing product, Affiliate Theme. At the time when I wrote the post, I was promoting and selling a premium article that I wrote. I was (still available - check sidebar) selling this article for $1.00 per download. Instead, this morning I decided to review the article content to promote and sell Affiliate Theme because of the ratio I have for success.

In other words, I would have to sell about 90 copies of my $1.00 to every 1 sale of Affiliate Theme. Based off my Paypal.com report, this isn’t happening. On average I have been selling about 25 copies per month. This means, that if this page can successfully generate at least ONE sale of Affiliate Theme, I will make about $65 dollars more per month that this page has been earning prior to the update. Now with that said, take a look at this screen shot:

Now, one of the greatest features with Google Analytics, is that it gives you the ability to see what keywords and keyword phrases people use to find your content in search engines. As you can see from the screen shot above, my page is seated pretty well with some really good keywords. Quite honestly, this page is getting hit heavy with over 500 various keywords and keyword phrases.

Now, I already mentioned that I was pretty busy and I am about to leave to Texas. I have already revised this page to promote Affiliate Theme. When I get back to the office, one of the things I am going to do is revise this page once more. If I had more time today, I would do all this the proper way, which would be to do only one edit. Ideally, it would be best, but I don’t have time.

The final step to success is to edit your content making sure that you include the keywords and keyword phrases being reported on your Google Analytics report. If you fail to do this then eventually when the Googlebot comes back to recrawl your page you will lose your keyword rankings because the keywords and keyword phrases are no longer found in your article content. Also, one more thing to note is that if you see keywords and phrases lower on your list that look hot, optimize your article content to target them more heavily.
