Several of my photos were selected for display in a juried gallery show hosted by the Advertising Photographers of America. The December 6, 2007 event at Blue Sky Studios Gallery in San Francisco will exhibit 100 images from some of San Francisco's best advertising photographers.

A free lecture series presented by ASMP. On Monday, November 5, ASMP and Apple will present a Pro Session lecture by photographer Tim Gasperak.

Along with an overview of his work, Tim will discuss "what it really takes to start out as a commercial photographer." Especially today, when so many people are aspiring to be working photographers, his perspective about starting in business will be well received.

And what about the work? Tim is an environmental portraitist for advertising and editorial assignments. He is also a former creative director and design consultant with over 13 years of experience in brand strategy and development. He has also been an advisory board member of Blue Earth Alliance, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping photographers pursue documentary projects about endangered environments, threatened cultures and social issues.

Tim's image of a beached wooden tugboat won a Judge's Choice award in the Image07 competition sponsored by the New York chapter of the American Society of Media Photographers.

Tim's image of bathers enjoying the Blue Lagoon in Iceland was selected for publication in the May 2007 issue of PDN Magazine. The 2007 Photo Annual is a collection of the best photography work from 2006.

Sideshow Portraits

Tim returned recently from making portraits of sideshow freaks in central Florida. The troupe is the oldest sideshow act in the USA.

Iceland Project

Tim recently traveled to Iceland for two weeks to collect material for an ongong personal project. While there, he circumnavigated the entire island and brought home a wealth of new images.

Conspirare – Austin, Tx

Tim completed a campaign for Conspirare, a Grammy-nominated choral group in Austin, Tx. Tim provided all of the photography for the group's 2006-2007 season collateral.
