The 50 strong Warsaw mission team, in June 2011, have arrived home safely with testimonies of changed lives and souls won to Christ – over 140 people in total, across the 10 day mission.

“It talks in the Bible about being “ambassadors for Christ”, and I want to tell you that these young people were true ambassadors for Christ. They were also great ambassadors for you as a church… I’ve been on lot’s of missions in my 21 years as a Christian, and this is without a doubt the best mission we as a church have ever done.

But I want to tell you why that is. It’s because we, as a church, are at a different place. And there’s an excitement in our house for church planting and soul winning. But it’s not full of puff. It’s full of the reality of what God’s doing in the midst of you. And that’s why 48 young people went to another nation. It’s because God’s doing something in our house.

So Poland 2011 is over. Congratulations.

What is the Marriage Encounter?!

We’re looking forward with anticipation to the Marriage Encounter we’ll be hosting with Pastors Mark and Crystal Evans, on Saturday the 26th March.

Who is the Marriage Encounter for?

The Marriage Encounter is for Christian married couples, as well as those couples who are engaged to be married. Pastor Crystal encourages us: “This is for engaged couples, couples that have been married for 1 day… couples that have been married for 102 years – kind of like us.”

Why should we attend the Marriage Encounter?

Pastors Mark and Crystal Evans are from our Sister Church, Northwest Church in Orlando, and will be both teaching and ministering at the marriage conference. Here is just a small insight, in their own words, into the kinds of things we should expect to experience and receive on the day:

“We’re here in sunny Florida. Why are we leaving here? – We’re leaving here because we know what the Lord’s going to do there in Dundee.”

“We have a prophetic word, and we have a practical word… The bible tells us in Genesis that God gave the command, gave the mandate, for the male and the female to rule together, and subdue the earth together. So we’re going to talk about that. We’re going to explore those topics. How do we do that? What does that look like in a marriage? What does that look like in cell groups? What does that look like in your family? And we’re going to learn alot!”

“There’s a door that stands open to the church now. There is a word, a voice being spoken like a trumpet. And that’s what we are believing is going to happen to marriages in the church, in Dundee, and all of Scotland. Their is a door open to every marriage. There is a voice being spoken from heaven. The heavens are going to be opened in our marriages.”

“I want you to know, that the Lord has an answer for Dundee. We’re going to hear something, and we’re going to see something new for our marriages.”

When is the marriage encounter?

The marriage encounter takes place between 10am and 4pm on the 26th March, 2011.  It’s important to note, however, that we’ll be actively encouraged to make the evening of Saturday 26th March a “date night”. Please do plan for date night ahead of time, and arrange for your baby sitter to look after your kids that evening.

Where is the marriage encounter?

The marriage encounter will take place at Gate Church International, 158 Perth Road in Dundee.

How much does the marriage encounter cost?

The “Early Bird Ticket” is priced at £20 per couple, and is available prior to March 17th. Thereafter, the ticket price will rise to £30 per couple.

Will child care be provided at the marriage encounter?

Childcare will be provided throughout the day by members of our church children’s work teams, from 9am-4pm. The children will be split into age appropriate groups.

Book your childcare prior to March 17th, at a cost of £2 per child. Thereafter, the cost of childcare will rise to £3 per child.

Snacks will be provided for your children, but please do provide a packed lunch.

Children’s Church:

We are currently looking for new leaders to help with the running of Emerge, working alongside children in Primary 2 to Primary 3 at school. All potential workers will be required to complete an application form as well as a Disclosure Scotland Police check. You would be volunteering approximately one Sunday a month on a rota basis.

Coffee Bar:

We are looking for volunteers to help serve tea and coffee after church on Sunday mornings as part of one of our coffee bar teams. You would be volunteering approximately one Sunday a month on a rota basis.

Hosting:

Hosts play a vital role in welcoming people to church on Sunday mornings.  We are currently looking for hosts to join one of our four hosting teams, volunteering approximately one Sunday a month.

Little Angels:

Little Angels is a mother and toddler group that meets on a Thursday mornings at the church. We are looking for volunteers that would be willing to help with the setting up and setting down of the group, as well as to help prepare tea and coffee for the mums and snacks for the children. You would also be available to help welcome new mums who come along to the group. An application form and Disclosure Scotland application would need to be completed for this position.

Preparing to record our upcoming EP/Album, due for release by the end of the year…

This particular track, “Send Me”, was written by our very own Craig Anderson. The song has been embraced by our congregation during worship times over the last few years now.

This is a somewhat “experimental” and creative approach to the song, and represents the latter part of our rehearsal time that day… a great day!

NOTE: Given that the track was recorded primarily for reference, it’s something less than “studio quality” at present :o)
