In the last few years Dubai has seen the influx of extremely rich tourists and residents who go clubbing every weekend. Nightclubs in Dubai has sprung like mushrooms and will continue to do when you hear that eventually the city will be having 20 million visitors a year! Before the list of top 5 nightclubs are revealed it’s essential to realize that, like many other world cities, Dubai is an expensive place. Particularly the night club scene. When it comes to cocktails, it will probably cost the same amount as they would in places like London, Paris or New York. However, if you are a lady, of course there are often treats when it comes to drinks. Also, it’s important to recognize that Dubai is primarily an Islamic country. There will be customs and regulations that must be obeyed. For example, public drunkenness is a ‘no no’ and can land you in prison. The drinking age is 21 and ID must be shown. So if you are looking for a place to party the night away, here are the top 5 night clubs of Dubai!

Top 5 Dubai Night Clubs

Club People By Crystal In Dubai | (c) Photo By Haute Living

Copacabana

Named possibly after the 70′s Barry Manilow hit, the “Copa Cabbana” has become popular among the increasingly young and trendy crowd in Dubai and travelers to Dubai. It’s easy to forget that food can be just as important: who can forget the irate letter from a Virgin Airlines passenger who was left bemused by his in-flight meal? Of course, food is unlikely to be a deciding factor but if you’re planning a holiday and want to be sure that you’re going to be served some tasty food whilst in the air, this guide could be of assistance.

Guide To Airline Food

Hawaiian Airline Sushi Meal | (c) Photo By The Wall Street Journal

Passengers on flights to Bodrum, Dalaman or anywhere else in Turkey rejoice. In a recent study, Turkish Airlines was found to have the best in-flight food based on taste and presentation. Their menu includes Turkish treats such as stuffed eggplant, as well as world cuisines. It’s no wonder that they came out on top, though their policy aims to bring their passengers fresh food with a “restaurant experience and taste.”

Singapore Airlines came in second in: no small wonder, since Gordon Ramsay is a consultant on their culinary panel. They’ve even released their own recipe book so that satisfied customers can recreate their in-flight meals in their own kitchens from the airline. It’s surprising that they didn’t come first, really; but perhaps porcini crusted sea scallop just doesn’t taste the same at 30,000 feet in the air.

Etihad missed out on the second spot by one point. All food served on the Arabian airline carrier is Halal certified, and fresh ingredients are used wherever possible. They also offer an astonishing number of special meals, for religious purposes and also dietary requirements (raw vegetables, low sodium, and seafood).

Also surprisingly, Irish airline carrier Aer Lingus beat out luxury airlines Emirates, Cathay Pacific and Qantas in the study: perhaps the pre-departure champagne service on their long haul flights had something to do with that?

Foodies on a diet might want to book flights to Canada. In a recent North American survey it was found that Air Canada’s food has the lowest caloric content. The top picks are chicken ramen noodle soup, chicken or beef wraps and vegetarian sandwiches. Virgin America is also taking steps to offering sensible healthy options including a protein meal with hummus, nuts and tuna. This is perfect for keeping energy up and keeping fried foods at bay.

Then again, foodies trying to cut down on food could also fly with a budget airline such as Ryanair. Faced with the choice of a lukewarm cheese and ham Panini or a Batchelor’s Cup-a-Soup, all at premium prices, personally I would prefer to skip lunch altogether and stick to coffee.

Well that’s that on your guide to airline food to all the foodies out there that are concerned!

View article on Gawaya Travel Blog: A Foodie’s Guide to Airline Food

The wall served as a barricade that kept off attackers like the nomadic Hsiung Nu tribes that originated from Northern China. The wall was put together by people who resided there, along with criminals and the soldiers themselves. Over the years, the wall has been modified with additions made over the next 200 years like cannons and watch-towers. Even Emperor Wudi of the Han Dynasty contributed to the construction of this mammoth project, spanning the wall to a stretch from Dunhuang to Yanze, where it is currently known as Lop Nur.

Where In China Is The Great Wall Located?

The wall runs along from Shanhaiguan in the east to Lop Lake in the west. It is a vast stretch that adds up to about 8.852.8 km, where the walls break up in parts in between, filled in by defense barriers, trenches, rivers and hills to complete its mammoth structure.

Click here for low prices on China hotels

How Large Is The Wall?

The wall is about 30 feet high and 15 feet wide.

What Is The Great Wall Made From?

In the emerging stages the wall was mainly built from earth, stones and wood. The use of bricks was a later development to build the wall. It required an enormous amount of raw materials in the area. The builders had used materials that were available easily. For example, while building over the mountain ranges, the stones of the mountain were used; while in the plains, earth materials were pounded into solid blocks to be used in construction, whereas in the deserts, the sanded reeds were put to use.

What Was The Purpose Of The Great Wall?

The Great Wall of China was built to serve as a site for lookout posts. Meaning it was to provide the army a swift warning system and to create an elevated military roadway through the rugged terrain. In addition, The wall provided a protection to the economic development and cultural progress of the region. The wall also safeguarded the trade routes such as the Silk Route, and facilitated safe transmission of information and transportation.

How Long Did It Take To Build Th Great Wall?

The purpose of the Great Wall was to protect powerful parts of China from invaders. Research done at the time of the Great Wall construction has concluded that it began around the 6th and 7th century B.C. Technically, it is unknown as to who actually started out on building the wall, where the emperor of the Qin Dynasty is known to have made significant changes and additions to the Great Wall. It wasn’t easy putting the wall together, since the original make-up consisted of wood, stone, earth and grass. Later on, the wall’s make has been replaced with bricks made from klins; it has been then transported on the backs of labor animals up the mountain top.

It is truly amazing that this creation of mankind draws many people from around the world.
