We tried to limit contact as much as possible, maintaining social distancing when visiting relatives, but there was always a fear that something would go wrong. More than the long hours of driving, it was that anxiety that made the trip so draining. Luckily, my mother was there by my side, taking the wheel during some very rough roads, and keeping my mind off the pandemic.
