02/28/2012 – CIAC Class S 1st Round – Girls Basketball – #25 East Windsor defeats #8 Putnam

Here a few images from the CIAC High School Girls Basketball – Class S 1st Round – Feb 28 2012 – East Windsor HS at Putnam HS match at Putnam HS, Putnam, Connecticut. #25 East Windsor visited the northeast corner of Connecticut at #8 Putnam High School. While Putnam came in with the higher seed, they were clearly overmatched by the Panthers of East Windsor. East Windsor jumped out to a double digit lead early and never looked back. Putnam had some trouble putting the ball in the hoop but just couldn’t put a good run together. I was a little disapointd when I was told I was unable to use my lights by the referees. Hopefully for the boys game next week I will be able to use my lights as I have already requested with the Boys head coach. In the end #25 East Windsor easily defeated #8 Putnam 60-35. Here a few images from the CIAC High School Boys Varsity Basketball – Feb 14 2012 – Woodstock Academy at Tourtellotte Memorial HS match at Tourtellotte Memorial HS, N. Grosvenordale, Connecticut. Tourtellotte and Woodstock Academy were back and forth all game. At the half it was a 2 point game. Each team missed some shots that normally fall in, but in the end Woodstock wound up with a 4 point win with Tourtellotte making a 3 point shot after the buzzer. The Clippers started out strong wtih a 21-0 run to start the game against a young Parish Hill team. Putnam would continue to preasure the young Pirates and would end up winning 79-38. 01/18/2012 – Varsity Wrestling – South Windsor defeats East Hartford

Here a few images from the CIAC High School Wrestling South Windsor HS vs East Hartford HS match at East Hartford HS, East Hartford, Connecticut. South Windsor started out strong in the lower weight classes but had trouble against the heavier weight classes that East Hartford brought out. Here a few images from the CIAC High School Girls Varsity Basketball – Jan 17 2012 – Putnam HS at Tourtellotte Memorial HS game at Tourtellotte Memorial HS, N. Grosvenordale, Connecticut. The Putnam Clippers defeated the Tourtellotte Tigers in a hard fought battle which included a lot of turnovers for both teams. In the end the Clippers pulled away from the young Tigers. 12/20/2011 – Windham Tech defeats Wilcox Tech in OT 64-63

Here a few images from the CIAC High School Girls Basketball – Dec 20 2011 – Wicox Tech at Windham Tech game at Windham Tech, Willimantic, Connecticut. A one sided game for Wilcox Tech for a little while in the first half. In the end Windham Tech closed the gap and tied the game with little time left. In overtime Wilcox pulled away before Kara Thibodeau who reentered the game after sitting out for the last 3 minutes of regulation and a little of the OT due to a leg cramp, hit a three pointer with 14 seconds left in the game. Here a few images from the MIAA High School Girls Varsity Gymnastics – Dec 19 2011 – Shrewsbury HS and Medfield/Ashland/Dover-Sherborn at Acton-Boxoboro meet at Stearns Gymnasium, Acton, Massachusetts. It was an interesting meet to cover, considering I had just covered the 10.0 Candy Cane Classic in Boxboro over the weekend taking around 25,000 shots. So I was in a groove for gymnastics and will be the rest of the year as I will be covering a lot of youth meets for USA Gymnastics photographer John Cheng and Team Photo. 12/13/2011 – The Norton Lancers defeat the Medfield Big Blue 62 – 50 in Medfield’s Home Opener

Here a few images from the MIAA High School Boys Varsity Basketball, Norton High School vs Medfield High School game at Medfield HS, Medfield, Massachusetts. It was a back and forth game to start, at the half it was close. During the second half the Lancers started pulling away with the lead and ended up pulling out the win in regulation over the Big Blue. In the mean time realized my 70-200mm f2.8 lens was not working to its potential.
