With its latest release, Old Blood Noise Endeavors refines years of reverse-delay experimentation into a new pedal called the Setback.

Setback builds on a lineage that includes Rever, Minim, BL-44, and Parting, but this time the goal was to create the ideal reverse delay. That means giving players the ability to go completely off-grid – or lock tightly into tempo.

At the heart of the pedal is a stereo signal path with analog dry-through, ensuring your core tone remains intact even as the reversed signal twists around it. The Mix control handles the wet/dry blend, while Speed adjusts reverse playback rate – opening the door to pitch-shifted swells, warped textures, and tape-like slowdowns.

The Div knob introduces rhythmic subdivisions, letting you sync repeats to your playing or an external clock, while the Clock control manipulates sample rate, shaping everything from pristine clarity to degraded, lo-fi grit.

Expression control is available over every knob, meaning you can morph parameters in real time, from subtle modulation to full-on sonic mutation. Add full MIDI implementation including MIDI clock sync, and Setback instantly becomes a pretty beefy addition to any rig.

The Aux switch pulls double duty, offering tap tempo, held feedback, or preset switching depending on how you configure it. Meanwhile, Alt controls unlock deeper functionality like volume shaping and direct manipulation of delay time, rewarding players who like to dig beneath the surface.

Despite its depth, Setback keeps things intuitive where it counts. A soft-touch On/Off footswitch with relay switching ensures minimal noise, and players can choose between buffered trails or true bypass depending on their setup. Visually, the pedal is brought to life by artwork from John Salame, giving it a surreal, unpredictable look.

If you’re not familiar with Lari Basilio’s signature Seymour Duncan pickups, great news! She’s got a pretty expansive demo of the whole set streaming below.

If you’ve heard Basilio alongside heavyweights like Steve Vai, Kiko Loureiro, or Keb’ Mo’, you already know her sound demands finesse, and this HSS configuration delivers exactly that. The neck and middle positions are rooted in traditional single-coil design but elevated with a carefully selected blend of Alnico magnets tailored to her touch.

What sets this set apart is its unique voicing approach. The neck pickup leans into a T-style character, offering deeper, richer cleans with a slightly thicker low-end response than your typical Strat-style design. Meanwhile, the S-style middle pickup provides that unmistakable chime and clarity – perfect for articulate rhythm work and shimmering lead textures.

Then there’s the bridge. When it’s time to turn up the heat, the Trembucker steps in with a high-output Alnico V punch that feels both powerful and refined. It’s not just about raw gain – it’s about control. Expect a full-range response that complements the single coils rather than overpowering them, maintaining cohesion across all positions.

Versatility is the name of the game here, and this set is wired for it. Thanks to the Trembucker’s four-conductor design, coil-splitting options open the door to classic “quack” tones and a wide range of experimental configurations. Whether you’re chasing vintage-inspired sparkle, modern fusion clarity, or saturated lead tones, this setup adapts effortlessly.

Get the Lari Basilio Signature Pickups here starting at $377 alongside Basilio’s signature Ibanez guitar and JHS pedals. Keep up with all our Seymour Duncan coverage right here!

MESA/Boogie is bringing back one of its most influential creations – namely the return of the 90s Dual Rectifier Standard.

Handcrafted in Petaluma, California, this reimagined powerhouse taps directly into the DNA of the original 1992 Dual Rectifier Solo Head. At its core, the 90s Dual Rectifier Standard returns to the stripped-down, player-first philosophy of the early two-channel models.

Channel one delivers the iconic Vintage/Orange voice, while channel two unleashes the Modern/Red mode – the sound that powered everything from tight, percussive rhythm work to soaring, saturated leads. The addition of a Channel Style/Cloning feature lets players assign either voicing to either channel, expanding flexibility without complicating the workflow.

Under the hood, the amp stays true to what made the original so addictive to play. The patented switchable Tube or Silicon Diode rectification allows players to dial in everything from spongy, sag-filled response to tight, fast attack.

The BOLD/SPONGY Variac switch further shapes feel and harmonic bloom, giving the amp a dynamic elasticity. Driving it all is 100 watts of Class A/B tube power via four Mesa 6L6 tubes, with the option to swap in EL34s using Bias Select.

For those looking to push things even further, a limited-edition Red chassis version wraps the classic circuit in a striking Rosso Scuderia Red and Black Snake Vinyl aesthetic. It’s a head-turning finish that looks right at home atop the reissued Boogie Split Back cabinets, which also make their long-awaited return.

These Split Back 4×12 and 2×12 cabinets – open on top, sealed on the bottom – offer a unique blend of airy cleans and tight, focused low end. Built from Baltic Birch and loaded with UK-made Celestion drivers, they deliver the kind of tonal spread that helped define arena-sized 80s rock tones while pairing seamlessly with the Dual Rectifier’s modern aggression.

Inside, the amp is as serious as its legacy suggests. Five 12AX7 preamp tubes sculpt the gain structure, while a tube-driven series effects loop ensures seamless integration with pedals and processors.

Independent Gain, Treble, Middle, Bass, Presence, and Master controls on each channel provide precise tonal shaping, with a global output level control activated via the loop. Multiple speaker outputs, a Slave Out with level control, and rugged marine-grade Baltic Birch cabinetry round out the feature set.

The brand new Fender Vintera III Early ’60s Bass VI is a throwback that captures the look, feel, and voice of one of the brand’s most intriguing hybrid instruments. It also makes for some solid stoner rock riffs, if you need ’em.

Part baritone, part bass, and fully unique, the Bass VI lives in its own sonic lane. Front and center is an Alder body finished in striking Candy Apple Red, paired with a Maple neck and Round-Laminated Rosewood fingerboard.

The neck carves out an Early ’60s “C” profile that feels instantly familiar in hand, while the 30″ scale length gives the instrument its signature tension and tonal depth. Add in a 7.25″ radius and Vintage Tall frets, and you’ve got a playing experience that’s smooth as hell.

A trio of Vintage-Style Early ’60s single-coil pickups delivers everything from deep, piano-like low end to jangly, articulate highs. The unique switching system – complete with individual on/off sliders for each pickup and a dedicated low-cut switch – opens up a surprising range of textures.

The hardware stays true to the era, but it’s far from ornamental. A Vintage-Style Floating Tremolo with a push-in arm and tremolo lock invites expressive vibrato work, while the inclusion of a traditional Bass VI mute adds a percussive, thumpy character that studio players will immediately appreciate. Vintage-Style tuning machines and a Bone nut round out the package.

Visually, it nails the brief. Nickel/Chrome hardware, a 3-Ply Mint Green pickguard, Vintage White pickup covers, and Clay Dot inlays complete the period-correct aesthetic, making this feel less like a reissue and more like a time capsule with perfect intonation.

The new Epiphone Futura Series takes all the familiar body shapes you know and makes ’em… cooler. Got it?

At the core of the Futura concept is a simple but ambitious idea: take legacy designs and equip them for modern demands. That means Chromashift finishes that morph under stage lights, newly developed ProBucker Ignite humbuckers, and expanded tonal flexibility via push/pull controls that unlock coil-splitting and phase switching. It’s classic DNA with a distinctly 2026 attitude.

Across the range, you’ll find stainless steel medium jumbo frets, bound Ebony fingerboards with Super 400-style inlays, and a sleek 10”-14” compound radius designed to handle everything from tight chord work to wide, expressive bends without breaking stride.

“The Futura Series opens new worlds of possibility for players who don’t stand still,” says Lewis McKinney III, Epiphone’s Brand Manager. “They’re built to move—pushing feel, sound, and style forward in a way that’s undeniably bold by design.”

The Futura ES-355 leads the semi-hollow charge with a Maple center block and weight-relief window that keeps feedback in check while enhancing sustain. A Mahogany neck with a Modern C profile pairs with an Ebony fingerboard and 22 stainless steel frets, while hardware like the LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge and Grover Rotomatic tuners ensures road-ready reliability. The The Futura ES-355 is finished in Firestorm Shift, Dragonfly Shift, or Midnight Ember Shift.

On the solidbody side, the RD Custom resurrects one of Gibson’s most cult-loved designs with a 25.5” scale length and a sculpted Mahogany body that feels as good as it looks. Built for drop tunings and aggressive styles, it combines extended scale clarity with the versatility of coil-splitting and phase switching — all wrapped in striking Chromashift options like Twilight Shift and Firestorm Shift.

The Firebird Custom continues that theme of reinvention. With its Reverse Firebird headstock, contoured Mahogany body, and punchy ProBucker Ignite pickups, it balances iconic aesthetics with a wide tonal palette. Finishes like Quicksilver Shift and the Glacier Shift exclusive push its visual identity into unmistakably modern territory.

Then there’s the Les Paul Custom—a model that arguably had the most to lose in a redesign. Epiphone sidesteps that risk with Ultra-Modern weight relief, a Maple cap for added snap, and a contoured heel for improved upper fret access. The result is a Les Paul that feels lighter, faster, and more adaptable without losing its signature punch.

The SG Custom keeps its legendary double-cut silhouette intact but upgrades nearly everything else. From the Modern C neck to the Ebony fingerboard and Chromashift finishes like Nitro Shift and Dragonfly Shift, it’s built for players who want classic feel with expanded tonal reach.

For those who prefer their guitars angular and unapologetic, the Explorer Custom and Flying V Custom deliver. Both models feature Mahogany bodies with 7-ply binding, high-output ProBucker Ignite pickups, and hardware designed for maximum stability under pressure. The Explorer leans into futuristic aggression, while the Flying V brings finishes like Solaris Shift.

Jackson is now streaming a documentary chronicling the build of the Limited-Edition Misha Mansoor Baritone Surfcaster, master built by Pat Campolattano.

Conceived by Misha Mansoor — a player synonymous with forward-thinking metal and tonal precision — this isn’t just another Custom Shop curiosity. It’s a deliberate reimagining of a vintage silhouette, rebuilt from the ground up to meet the demands of modern, low-tuned performance.

At the core of this instrument is its commanding 30″ Baritone scale, a length that fundamentally reshapes how the guitar responds under tension. Notes hit with piano-like authority, staying tight and focused even in the depths of extended-range tuning.

That articulation is driven further by a set of Bare Knuckle Juggernaut pickups, delivering a voice that’s equal parts surgical and savage. Low-end riffs thunder with definition, complex chords retain separation, and lead lines cut through with razor precision.

Construction is exactly what you’d expect from a Jackson Custom Shop Master Build. A Roasted Ash body provides a resonant, balanced foundation, while the Quartersawn Caramelized Flame Maple neck offers both stability and a broken-in feel that seasoned players crave.

The addition of Stainless Steel frets ensures longevity and effortless playability, while Luminlay position markers keep you locked in when the lights go down.

Hardware choices lean firmly into performance reliability. A Hipshot Fixed Bridge anchors tuning stability and sustain, complementing the baritone scale’s inherent tension. And visually, the Army Drab Green Nitro-Relic Tour Finish Package walks a perfect line between vintage character and battle-worn attitude.

If you’ve got the scratch, the Misha Mansoor Surfcaster is available here for $8,999.99.
Luke Fabian is one hell of a bassist – we’ve premiered his playing before with Pupil Slicer, and we’re doing it again with Infected Dead! This time around we’ve got Fabian shredding through “In Spaces Beyond”, one of the songs from the upcoming Infected Dead EP Invicta. It’s a ripper.

Following a lineup overhaul in 2024, the Kent-based five-piece regrouped with members tied to acts like Pupil Slicer, Dawnwalker, and Overthrow. Sharing stages with heavyweights such as Ingested, Vader, Immolation, and Pestilence, the band has spent the last couple of years refining their chemistry in real time.

The band’s forthcoming EP, Invicta, represents the culmination of years of ideas finally brought to life. Originally conceived in 2020, the material has evolved alongside the band itself, emerging now as their most ambitious and fully realized work to date.

Production duties were handled by V. Santura — known for his work with Triptykon, Dark Fortress, and Obscura — bringing a polished yet punishing clarity to the recordings. Check it all out below and pre-order Invicta here!

If you’ve been waiting for a tube amp that doesn’t force you to choose between raw power and modern convenience, the new G25 from Revv Amplification might just be your endgame. Building on the legacy of its G20 predecessor, this updated head crams a staggering amount of forward-thinking tech into a compact Tolex-wrapped chassis.

At the heart of the G25 are two meticulously voiced channels sharing a unified EQ, each designed to cover serious tonal ground. The Blue Channel delivers pristine, warm cleans that stay articulate whether you’re running straight in or stacking pedals.

Flip over to the Purple Channel, and you’re in high-gain heaven – tight, aggressive, and loaded with three distinct aggression voices that move effortlessly from old-school crunch to modern metal devastation. Independent volume controls for each channel make dialing in stage-ready balance refreshingly simple.

But what truly sets the G25 apart is how seamlessly it bridges traditional amplification with modern workflow demands. Thanks to its built-in reactive load and Two Notes-powered impulse response technology, you can run this amp direct via XLR and still retain the feel and response of a cranked tube head.

Despite its 20-watt rating, the revoiced power section offers increased headroom, giving the amp a bigger, punchier feel than its size suggests. A switchable low-power mode adds further flexibility, making it just as comfortable in a bedroom as it is onstage.

And with a transparent buffered FX loop, onboard digital reverb, tight noise gate, MIDI programmability, and included footswitch, this is an amp designed to handle the heavy lifting in any modern rig.

The Jake E Lee Signature Pro-Mod San Dimas Style 1 HSS HT RW resurrects the electrifying Blue Burst aesthetic and searing tone that Jake E Lee forged during his tenure with Ozzy Osbourne, which should bring a smile to every metal fan’s face. Or at least the ones that know what’s up.

Its Alder body offers the punchy, balanced tonal response that powered Lee’s riffs throughout albums like Bark at the Moon and The Ultimate Sin, while the bolt-on Maple neck provides snap, clarity, and that unmistakable fast-playing feel. Topping it off is a Rosewood fingerboard with a 12″-16″ compound radius and 22 Medium Jumbo frets, seamlessly transitioning from chordal comfort to high-speed lead work.

Tonally, this guitar is all about versatility with an edge. At the bridge, a Seymour Duncan JB humbucker delivers thick, harmonically rich gain with enough bite to cut through any mix.

In the middle and neck positions, DiMarzio SDS-1 single coils bring added depth and output, offering a darker, more muscular take on traditional single-coil tones. Controlled via a 5-way blade switch and a single Volume knob, the layout keeps things simple while unlocking a surprisingly wide tonal palette.

Unlike many shred-era designs, Lee’s preference for a hardtail bridge remains intact here. The Charvel hardtail maximizes sustain, enhances resonance, and ensures rock-solid tuning stability, making it ideal for players who demand consistency without sacrificing feel.

Get the Jake E Lee Signature Pro-Mod San Dimas here for $1,399.99 and keep up with all our Charvel coverage right here!

Drenched in a high-impact Candy Apple Red Gloss finish and accented with White Racing Stripes, the Solar Type S1.6RS CAR six-string is equal parts muscle car attitude and modern metal machine. Well, mostly the latter.

At its core, the S-style platform is carved from Alder, delivering a balanced tonal foundation with tight lows and articulate highs. The set-thru construction enhances sustain and upper-fret access, while the fast C-shaped 3-piece Maple neck ensures a slick, responsive feel under the hands.

Paired with an Ebony fingerboard, the playing experience is immediate and fluid, with 24 Stainless Steel frets laid across a 25.5″ scale for maximum control and durability. Add in Luminlay side dots, and you’ve got a neck that performs just as well under stage lights as it does in the practice room.

Where this guitar truly separates itself from the pack is its inclusion of the EverTune bridge system. This fully mechanical, constant-tension design keeps tuning locked in under virtually any condition, which is great if you’re downpicking the fuck out of the thing.

Electronics are equally dialed in for high-performance applications. A pair of Seymour Duncan Distortion humbuckers – SH6N in the neck and SH6B in the bridge – deliver unapologetic output with razor-sharp attack. Expect crushing mids, tight low-end response, and enough harmonic content to slice through even the densest mixes.

Hardware appointments round out the package with Chrome accents, Solar Locking Tuners for quick and stable string changes, and a Graphtech White nut that ensures smooth tuning performance. Every detail, from the White Binding to the Nickel Metal Dome knobs, reinforces the guitar’s blend of style and substance.
