What is a Gecko?

Geckos or also called gekkotas, belonging to the group of sauropods, has a total of 1500 species classified in 120 genera and 7 families. These are distributed preferably in warmer areas, being found in very varied habitats, from jungles to totally desert areas.

These small animals do not survive in temperate zones, as in Northern Europe.

Physical characteristics

These beautiful exotic animals are characterized by their large eyes and legs, especially their toes. Generally their scales are very small, flattened head without thorns and without crests.

As for its size, it varies according to the species, from 1 cm to 40 cm from head to tail. Even some Geckos measure more than 60 cm, although unfortunately it is possible that they are extinct.

Most of the species is oviparous, only a small percentage is ovoviviparous. They can produce only one or two eggs per clutch, unlike other lizards that produce more eggs.
