That being said, it’s the end of January and although I don’t have many things to talk about it because the cold and flu have gotten a hold of me since the beginning of the month, I still have some things that I enjoyed.

Korres Wild Rose 24-Hour Moisturizing & Brightening Cream
There is nothing worse than being sick during the winter. Not only is the weather working against you, but being sick sucks all the moisture out of your skin. This moisturizer has been a lifesaver during this time. It is extremely hydrating and smells like rose heaven.

Makeup

Urban Decay Good Karma Optical Blurring Brush
I have worked two out of four weeks and during that time, I didn’t wear much makeup, but when I did, the stand up product was this brush. Although I love my Real Techniques Buffing Brush & Expert Face Brush, I have to say that this brush is much denser therefore providing better coverage.

Movie

Pitch Perfect
Hands down, this movie takes this monthly favorite award. I watched it when it came out back in October and after watching it ten times later, it is just as funny. I am a singer so the awesome singing is just a bonus.

I also have been continually obsessed by any Audrey Hepburn movies, particularly the classic (aren’t they all) Breakfast at Tiffany’s and Funny Face.

Album

Ellie Goulding | Halcyon
I had Ellie’s first album (Lights) on repeat for months. Halcyon is just the same, if not better. I am in love with her voice and the musical arrangements. I listen to it when I’m getting ready in the morning, working, cleaning, driving, etc.

I have tried wheat pasta and absolutely hated it. I can’t even have one bite of it, that is how much I despise it, so I carried on with my search and during the process, I found out that cabbage is a great substitute for pasta.

Today, I tried making cabbage with meat sauce and I have to say, I really like it. I enjoy cabbage so that is a win but who would have thought that throwing some meat sauce on top would make it taste so yummy. I boiled about two cups of cabbage (I should have put a bit of salt), strained it and then added the sauce on top. It was great. No, it didn’t taste like pasta but it had a good taste and texture to it, and like every healthy meal, it made me feel like I had made the best decision of my life.

If you are a pasta lover like me, I encourage you to try cabbage as a substitute. You just might enjoy it.
