CURRENTLY...

READING
Through my fiction work to see which ones are worth sending out as entries to workshops.

WRITING
Progress is slow with my short story revisions but it's progressing nonetheless.

CLICKING
Bruno Mars' and Beyonce's Superbowl performance to dilute the tacky mess that was Katy Perry's.

LISTENING
To Fall Out Boy's newest LP, American Beauty/American Psycho. It was released last month, and being a fan of their work since From Under the Cork Tree, I decided to check it out. It's a pretty solid album, but personally, I'd still go with their 2013 album, Save Rock and Roll. Uma Thurman's so darn catchy though.

SMELLING
Nothing in particular. Again, not the keenest smeller, me.

WEARING
A matching set of plaid pyjamas given to me by my Grandma. My other go-to loungewear when I'm home in Lipa.

CRAVING
For some juicy steak. It seems that for this weekend alone, I've filled up my quota for carbs, so I better make up for the lack of protein.

LOVING
This humble Japanese kitchen that officemates and I discovered a couple of weeks ago. It was hidden in plain sight, tucked away on the second floor of the sketchy motel located in our neighborhood in Manila. The food is more than decent yet very much affordable.

THINKING
About That Thing Called Tadhana, the movie my cousins and I saw earlier and how I'm both satisfied and not with its ending.

WISHING
For a day off everything and everyone.

WANTING
The Clinique Chubby Stick Cheek Colour Balm in Amp'd Up Apple or Robust Rhubarb, or the Clinique Cheek Pop in Ginger Pop. My daily make up routine is sorely lacking on the cheeks department and I need a product that's both fool-proof and an investment in terms of quality and color.

NEEDING
To set an appointment with a gynecologist. It's high time I put on my big girl panties and take my reproductive health seriously. Sorry, not sorry if that was TMI.

FEELING
A bit emotionally exhausted. The past couple of weeks have been quite trying, and I could feel my anti-social tendencies manifesting again.

The Sunday Currently, Vol. 1

CURRENTLY...

READING

Let's Explore Diabetes with Owls by David Sedaris. I've fallen out of the habit of reading physical books in the past couple of years and from the looks of things, Let's Explore..., a collection of short yet delightful narrative essays, is just the perfect choice to help me get back.

WRITING

A narrative piece about my family's intent and subsequent attempts in matchmaking. (Honestly, it makes me feel like I'm some heroine in a Jane Austen novel.) Also, musings about relationships and closure, plus revisions on some of my stories in preparation for workshop submissions.

CLICKING

After more than a year of using a basic call-and-text block, I've finally upgraded to a mid-range Android smartphone. Since I would eventually surrender my soul to this device, I figured I might as well make sure that it's loaded with apps that best suit my lifestyle and personality; hence, countless hours dedicated to dozens of tech blogs.

LISTENING

Finally gave in and put Taylor Swift's whole 1989 album on repeat. I have to say, it's not half-bad. Same goes for Ed Sheeran's X.

SMELLING

I don't have the world's keenest sense of smell so my descriptions would be, at best, basic. Right now, I smell the scent of Dove soap since I just got out of the shower a few minutes ago.

WEARING

The long Christmas-themed shirt I almost always wear to bed whenever I'm home in Lipa, and some sleep shorts.

CRAVING

Belgian waffles with cream cheese. Yes.

LOVING

2015 so far. I've met a couple of new friends, reconnected with some old ones, and got a great cosmic affirmation about leaving certain people behind for good.

THINKING

That the said cosmic affirmation isn't just wishful thinking on my part.

WISHING

That I'll be granted the strength to keep this positive momentum going. I promised myself last year that a major change is going to happen before my 25th birthday, and I intend on keeping it.

WANTING

More time. (Seriously, who wouldn't?) Also, it would be nice to go somewhere and have a getaway by myself.

NEEDING

An anchor and a hand to hold. Yes, it sounds contradictory to my want to travel alone, but I think it would do me a world of good if I had someone to keep me on track.

FEELING

That itch to travel, get lost, and get away. I think this feeling will stay with me no matter where I am. Also, there's the natural feeling of anxiety and insecurity that comes with the idea of showing my writing to other people.
