Normally, I find myself always grabbing a Dean Koontz novel over any other choices, simply because I know I will enjoy it. However, I have been trying to read books by other authors lately and stumbled upon the first book in the Chemical Garden Series by Lauren DeStefano. Wither is a story about a sixteen year old girl who is growing up in a future where experimentation on humans has left the entire world dying from a virusBy the book at Books-A-Million! at the age of 20 for females and 25 for males. The main character of the novel is thrown into forced marriage as scientists hurry to find a cure. It's a sci-fi/romance/drama. For Lauren DeStefano's first book, I would say it is written very well and the story drew me in. Keep in mind it is for young adults (15-20). I'm 22 and thoroughly enjoyed the book although I felt the ending was a bit under written. The story flows and reads very quickly the way the author writes. So many things are going on in the plot between different characters, that you feel you must read on to find out what's next. If you become bored of one situation, there's always another going on in the next room! I would recommend this book for girls or young women who enjoy romance and drama. The sci-fi aspect of the novel gives it an interesting twist. The second book of the series comes out in February, so go out and get the first novel of the series now!

Buy Wither at Books-A-Million!

Top Five Video Game Must Haves

Alright, everyone has different preferences in games, so your opinions may differ. But as a video game collector... I have my favorites.

1. Alex Kidd (Sega Genesis)

This game is by far once of the best games ever! If you haven't played it, you should - because you are missing out. Although the original version for the Genesis is much harder to finish without any save options... I Have the game for Xbox 360 as well... It's the only way I could complete the game!

2. Sonic The Hedgehog

You can get numerous sonic games on numerous systems... I am a hug Sonic fan so I may be a little biased when I say any Sonic game is good. :) I recently got Sonic Generations for X-Mas and enjoy seeing many of the original levels re-made with nicer graphics and to be able to play all the levels as side scrolling or head on (as the newer Sonic games are played) is just amazing. All Sonic fans should get this game!

3. Tomb Raider IV: Last Revelation (Playstation 1)

You either love or hate the Tomb Raider series. I LOVE it. My favorite Tomb Raider game of all time has to be this one though. It has a great menu for selecting items and saving and the story and game-play are much better than the three prior. Although the graphics aren't nearly as nice as the newest Tomb Raider Underworld... the game is still better.

4. Professor Layton Series (Nintendo DS)

I'm a fan of puzzle games and if you are too, this is a must have series! A MUST! Tons of puzzles to solve and a great story to follow make these games hard to put down. I have each one in the series so far and cannot wait for the next to come out! The newest game, The Last Specter, is probably my favorite... Mainly because it has a mini RPG version of Professor Layton where you create your own character and can interact around town. How cool is that!?

5. Nancy Drew (ANY) (PC) / Gray Matter (PC)

I know... Nancy Drew point and click games... I should be ashamed... But I'm not! As far as point and click games go, these have the best set-up and are the least confusing. Any one who has played Myst will know what I mean when I say it's confusing. I've tried several other point and click games and just never really liked the way the game was played as much as I do with Nancy Drew. Mind you some of the games are short, they are still fun to play. As much as I love Nancy Drew though, I did get Jane Jensen's Gray Matter for X-Mas, and I must admit I think I may like it even better. This is a tough call so I'm going to have to include these in a tie for 5th place!

Please feel free to share some of your favorite games! I'm always up for something new and exciting to play! :)

Introduction

Hello!
