This interactive table, created by the Australian Lightwell company, is currently at display at the Australian Museum as part of the “Surviving Australia” exhibition.

It features interactive screen applications and atmospheric/informative video programs to let the visitors explore some of Australia’s most dangerous animals.

Here’s a video showing the “Dangerous Australian” table in action:

The largest and most ambitious multimedia element in the exhibition is a six-metre long interactive table exploring Australia’s deadliest top ten. The saltwater crocodile, funnel web spider, box jelly fish, brown snake – what happens if you encounter them and what should you do to survive? Scurrying across sand or lurking under rippling waters, the table’s inhabitants respond immediately to prying visitors in a scarily life-like way.

Created using custom software running on Mac OS X, visitors can interact directly with these ‘dangerous Australians’ and enjoy an immersive and informative experience. As well as risk being bitten or attacked, visitors can use a magnifying glass tool to get a closer look, or find out more about each creature’s habitat and behaviour, or first aid treatment. Multiple users can interact with the table at any one time, making the experience all the more fun and lively.

The Santok SP500 is the first visor mounted speakerphone to feature caller ID that automatically synchronises with the contacts list in the phone it’s being used with, displaying the caller’s name instead of just their number.

It features advanced Digital Signal Processing (DSP) with automatic echo cancellation using a technique similar to that found on high-end noise cancellation headphones. Additionally, it also has the benefit of an extra long battery life between charges - up to 600 hours standby time, or eight to ten hours talk time.

Attention has been paid to the little details to set this aside from other similar products too. For example – it has charging sockets located on both sides of the unit. This means that if it needs to be plugged into a 12v socket to charge whilst driving, it’s far easier to ensure that the cables don’t get in the way. In addition, the LCD caller display is adjustable so that it can be tilted to the most useful angle.

Compatible with all Bluetooth handsets and with no complicated installation procedures necessary, the SP500 offers a convenient way to safely take or make phone calls in a car, and is also a great way to go hands free in the office or at home too.

Read more about the STK SP500 Bluetooth Handsfree Speakerphone at the Santok website. No word on pricing or availability.

Get to grips with the twin toggle transmitter and you’ll soon be whizzing around shouting ‘I pity the fool!’ as you attempt to outrun the imaginary forces of Colonel Decker.

With its characteristic red stripe and fabulously pointless rooftop spoiler, the A-Team R/C Van is more than a souped-up mercenary mobile; it’s an icon of vehicular pop culture.

The launch pad doubles as mission control, where you can set the time and the alarm from the LCD display. When it’s time to get up, the red LED lights begin to flash and the countdown begins. 10 – 9 – if you wake up now you can abort the launch – 8 – 7 – 6 – you can still stop it – 5 – 4 – come on you space cadet get up – 3 – 2 – 1 – LIFT OFF!

If you’ve failed to abort the mission by now, your soft-headed rocket has launched itself across the room – and the only way you’re going to stop the alarm from sounding is by getting up and retrieving it.
