The first Superman film under Gunn’s DC Studios umbrella pulled in over $600 million worldwide, so naturally, fans have been waiting to see what’s next for David Corenswet’s Man of Steel. Now we’ve got our answer, and Gunn didn’t come empty-handed—he shared a brand-new piece of art by Jim Lee himself to mark the reveal.

The artwork features Superman standing shoulder to shoulder with Nicholas Hoult’s Lex Luthor—and yes, Luthor is rocking the full-on green and purple power armor. That alone has fans buzzing. If Superman and Lex are lined up side by side, it looks like Gunn’s sequel might explore the two teaming up against a bigger threat.

Of course, this is still Superman and his greatest nemesis. Don’t expect them to stay besties for long. Both Corenswet and Hoult followed Gunn’s announcement by sharing additional artwork from DC heavy-hitters Jorge Jimenez and Mitch Gerads, teasing both alliance and conflict between the two icons.

So, who’s the bigger bad that forces Superman and Luthor into the same fight? Brainiac feels like a top contender. Darkseid is always looming large. Even Zod could make a comeback. Gunn’s keeping that card close to his chest for now, but he has confirmed that the “Superman Saga” already has a finished treatment and is moving toward production.

One thing is clear: DC Studios is building toward something ambitious, with Superman once again at its center.

Man of Tomorrow arrives in theaters July 9, 2027.

If you missed the fine print while you were cheering for the carnage: the series is TV-MA (so, y’know, maybe don’t watch this one with the littles), and it even gives us a proper animated debut for Blade — voiced here by Todd Williams — while Ali’s live-action Daywalker continues to simmer in development hell.

What the new trailer sets up

The setup is simple and savage: Earth’s mightiest got munched, and a scrappy crew is racing across a wrecked MCU to end the plague before there’s nothing left to save. That’s the official logline, and it looks every bit as bleak and bloody as you’d hope from a title with “Zombies” on the tin.

And because Marvel knows how to stick a landing, the trailer rides out on “from me to u” by BABYMETAL & Poppy — a gleefully feral track that fits the brain-munching vibes like a vibranium glove.

The cast & the brains behind the brains

Marvel Zombies is created by Bryan Andrews and Zeb Wells, with Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, Dana Vasquez-Eberhardt, Andrews, and Wells executive producing; Danielle Costa and Carrie Wassenaar produce. Voices include Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Rudd, Florence Pugh, David Harbour, Tessa Thompson, Simu Liu, Awkwafina, Hailee Steinfeld, Wyatt Russell, Randall Park, Iman Vellani, and Dominique Thorne, among others. Four episodes. All bite.

Fun bonus: Iman Vellani has teased that Kamala Khan is basically the Frodo of this story, which tracks with what we’re seeing in the footage. Hero’s journey, but make it post-apocalyptic.

New poster, same appetite

Marvel also dropped a new official poster alongside the trailer — the aesthetic is “grim, gorgeous, and grinning through the blood.” Slap it below for maximum mood-setting.

The “Golden Trio” will be voiced by two ensembles across the series: Frankie Treadaway, Max Lester, Arabella Stanton (Books 1–3), then Jaxon Knopf, Rhys Mulligan, Nina Barker-Francis (Books 4–7).

A sonic Hogwarts, built at blockbuster scale

These are brand-new, unabridged productions with full-cast performances, Dolby Atmos sound design, original music, and real-world sound capture—meant to complement (not replace) the classic single-voice editions by Jim Dale and Stephen Fry. Pottermore says over 200 actors have logged 2,000+ recording hours to create a truly immersive listen.

Star Wars: Starfighter arrives in theaters May 28, 2027.

BBC drama lead Lindsay Salt echoed the commitment, noting the show’s continued strength with younger audiences, even as the latest run posted softer overnights than prior seasons. There’s no fresh recommission update yet, but the BBC emphasized that the franchise remains a priority.

Meanwhile, the universe keeps expanding: the UNIT-led spin-off The War Between the Land and the Sea is still on deck for next year, with Disney involved on that project for now.

About that wild finale…

The most recent season ended with Ncuti Gatwa’s Doctor regenerating—surprise!—into Billie Piper, setting the fandom ablaze and raising big questions about what’s next. Neither the BBC nor Russell T Davies has announced the next series yet; Davies told Doctor Who Magazine he’s “taking a pause” while plans are worked out.

For now, the message from the Beeb is simple: the show goes on. When there’s official word on the next chapter (and where it streams globally), we’ll continue to keep you updated.

Why the Tombstone chatter? Early buzz had Alonzo “Lonnie” Lincoln in the mix for this movie, which sent fans straight to the obvious guess. The latest scuttlebutt knocks that down while keeping the “villain” label intact, so the board is wide open. (Montage of Spidey vs. multiple baddies in the opening? That rumor’s still floating around, too.) As always: grains of salt until Marvel/Sony make it official.

What’s confirmed (and what’s likely)

• Tom Holland is back as Peter Parker/Spider-Man. Zendaya and Jacob Batalon are returning, though the word is their roles won’t dominate this one. Destin Daniel Cretton directs. Release date: July 31, 2026. Filming is underway.
• Jon Bernthal (Punisher) and Mark Ruffalo (Hulk) are onboard; Sadie Sink and Liza Colón-Zayas are in undisclosed roles.
• Florence Pugh returning as Yelena Belova is a rumor for now, but it’s a persistent one from the usual insiders.

Tillman also pops up in Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, so 2026 is shaping up to be a big year for him. If Marvel cast him as more than a cameo, expect threads they can pull again later.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day hits theaters July 31, 2026.

This new take is directed by Chad Stahelski (John Wick), with cameras expected to roll in late September for a theatrical release down the road.

Behind the scenes, Amazon MGM Studios’ United Artists is steering the project after securing the rights earlier this year. Producers include Scott Stuber and Nick Nesbitt for UA, alongside Neal H. Moritz, Stahelski’s 87Eleven Entertainment, Josh Davis (Davis Panzer Productions), and Louise Rosner.

What kind of remake are we getting?

Plot specifics are under wraps, but expect a fairly direct return to the franchise’s core: immortals waging a centuries-long battle where, in the end, there can be only one. Stahelski has teased Cavill’s MacLeod as a warrior with 500+ years of training and a wide emotional arc—exactly the kind of scope you want for a dueling, head-lopping epic.

Between Gillan and Bautista (a mini-Guardians reunion), Crowe channeling Ramirez, and Stahelski calling the action, this has all the makings of a legit Highlander revival. Sharpen your claymores.

Set in a faithful, ‘78-era Haddonfield, players can either keep the town alive as terrified civilians or slip on the mask and become Michael Myers—stalking, sabotaging, and, well… you know.

• Two sides of terror:
  • Civilians: Stick to the shadows, warn residents, and find a way to call for help.
