This is a simple Severe Weather Warning geeklet.

Nothing fancy to it.

This is built of the same ideas in simple auto weather geeklet, Weather Underground - Simple weather - 2.0 Automatically Gets Location

This has one sole purpose, to warn you of severe weather. In an attempt to help out those who might be in severe weather situations, I built this in a short amount of time and haven't fully tested it. This was specifically made to compliment the simple forecast, and simple weather geeklets that I've built in an attempt to give the end user the most information about whats going on.

Please, I need feedback. I enjoy the idea behind making geeklets and I'd like to make more, let me know if you have suggestions!

Notes

Weather needs some setting up, there are tutorials for this, all you need to do is change some of the script to provide your location.

For the ARC CPU and Memory meters you have to install the ARCFont.tff which can be found here: ARCFont.tff

This is my first Geektool modification.

Instruction:

1-To use the Song meter: - Download Song Meter White(color can be modified) and SpotifySongMeterLeft1.scpt(Credits to http://www.macosxtips.co.uk/geeklets/music/spotify-now-playing-and-song-meter/) -Save SpotifySongMeterLeft1.scpt where you want ( I created an folder in my documents and save it there) - Open Song meter White.glet with GeekTool and in property where is said "( myDisk=osascript "Script Location"/SpotifySongMeterLeft.scpt)" MUST CHANGE SCRIPT LOCATION to the location of the SpotifySongMeterleft1.scpt file).

Other Geeklet just download it ,install it and modified as you want.

There was an existing geeklet but it didn't work for me so i wrote this one instead.

Just edit your location into the script per the comments.

Script is PHP so its easy to modify the echo line at line 29 to get it to output the lines in a different order or to duplicate it so you can format the lines separately.

FWIW I had to add browser spoofing to the curl command to get it to return the content so i suspect they added browser detection since that older geeklet was created.

Crysis: Crynet Systems Nanosuit 2

I started creating/gathering a collection of geeklets to build a "Nanosuit 2" desktop.

The basic Idea is to create a HUD which resembles the one from Crysis 2/3 so that the background can be changed randomly.

Here's just my first try and I will upload the geektools and the pngs if they are demanded. Anyway you can find almost every geektool here...

The Hidden Spectrum

I like the minimalist effect that this background gives. You can hide the date, time, and whatever else you would like in the light wave with black text.

After downloading the Color-wave background if it isn't tall enough and you don't want to stretch it then you can just put it to original size and set the desktop background color to black.

The top left is the same color-wave image as the background in an image geeklet and then on top is the circle Itunes geeklet that can be found here:

The Main wave in the screen just has a simple date and time in the font Minstral. (date +"%B %d"), (date +"%l:%M"), and (date +"%A")

The Inspirational Quote is just an: echo "{text}"

I noticed all the verse of the day geeklets are dead and/or not updated in a long time. So I put this together and it works fine and should work fine so long as Verse of the Day doesn't change their RSS feed format too greatly.

Put the verse.sh in /usr/bin/ and then use the attached geeklets to generate the verse title and verse body. Format and done.

You may need to add executable modifications to the verse.sh. From the terminal type : chmod a+rx /usr/bin/verse.sh

Technical issue

This Geekles is part of MINIMAL GEEKLETS Version 3

Geeklets refresh every 2 sec cover change only when change track or play pause stop. Song Meter refresh every 2 sec on show and change stat every 5%. This Geeklets Hidden when you stop , pause music and quite iTunes.

if iTunes not running this geeklets not request data form iTunes. This geeklets check iTunes process first before request play status.

Default Cover For None-Cover Track.

You can set an end to the display! One day = 3 lines. If you only want to see one day, and one nights worth of forecast, set your end to 6!

Fist attempt at this. Tell me if you like it. It's probably not the best, but I thought It turned out ok. I have alternative wallpapers and docks included. I have had a problem with them and geek tool. The geeklets do not want to pop up right away. I have to drag a shell onto the screen until my geeklets start popping up.

iPhone Battery & Wi-Fi Meter Geeklets

None of my image scripts on this post are wholly original - they all derive from the original (and variations thereon) DiskCapactiyMeter - and some other system & internet based commands.

See below for an image of the iPhone; the Battery and Wi-Fi meters, Time and Network all refer and sync with the Mac.

All of the scripts work in the same way. There is an AppleScript file, a folder with the various images, and temp.png.

iPhone Meters

Download all the stuff you need from: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/45924632/iPhone.zip

Once downloaded, move the "iPhone" folder to your desired location. Then, open up each of the AppleScript files and all should look roughly similar.

Change the location of the "Path" to where you have moved the relevant folder to. The easiest way to find this out accurately is by holding cmd+I on the folder when selected, once you have moved it to the destination.

That is all you need to do in AppleScript - make sure they save and close the windows.

Now to Geektool.

First off, you will need to get the background image onto the screen. Drag an image shell onto the screen, and "Set local path" to the "iPhone.png" in the "iPhone" folder. Next create three shells and three image shells. In the three image shells, "Set local path" to each of the temp.png images in each of the "Bars", "Battery", and "Wi-Fi" folders.

In the three other shells, you need to enter a path reference to the AppleScripts into the Command box. Most of this is the same as setting the path to the Folder in the AppleScript; below are the scripts you need to change and put into the command boxes.

Set the refresh rates to as frequently as you wish (remember that 0 seconds will update as quickly as possible).

I provide below the sizes for each of the image files, though I warn that with the meters, it can prove very tricky to move the geeklets when they're so small - so have your cmd-Z at the ready. Alternatively you can move pixel by pixel in the Geektool options module.

iPhone - 609 x 231 pixels Bars - 15 x 14 pixels Battery - 14 x 10 pixels Wi-Fi - 15 x 9 pixels

Now you should have all of the meters in place, It's time to get the text on.

In the iPhone folder there are two txt files containing shell commands that will give the text you need - SSID.txt and Time & Battery %.txt. Set the font to Apple SD Gothic Neo - Bold - Size 9.

Simply copy and paste these into a shell.

You will note that after the

`echo "$SSID" |`

there is

`cut -c1-9`

This chops off the end of the name so only the first 8 characters remain. I have done this because I cannot get the independent image shells to move in relation to the length of the output of the text file. Someone else may be able to do this, but for now, you can do the maths. I have central alignment for the text.

Time & Battery %

In the above recommended font, this should centre the time if you place the battery % next to the battery image, with the text aligned to the right.

Done!

Another image below shows the iPhone as I have it on my desktop - the command for this is in the Google Finance.txt.
