Ichi Corp has long said that their Protein Cubes® are just as good as biologically engineered foods. This has been a point of contention for many in Asia Proper’s capital, especially after Ichi Corp won the highly lucrative food service contract for the Asian Alliance military.

“I’ve been saying all along,” said Sam Ichiawa, “food is food. All the important atoms are there. We’re in the business of delivering good, quality product. Not poisoning our troops.”

Military leaders have praised the food blocks for their portability. The Protein Cubes® are easily stored and Alliance troops can carry a few weeks worth on their person while doing field maneuvers. Some even contribute the rise in harvesting productivity to the small cubes.

“Our DNA numbers are up 3% over last year this same time,” said Captain Tan, Asian Alliance Tengu division. “With these little blocks of food we can stay out longer and work harder. Sure, they taste like shit but who cares. It’s better than eating real shit. Believe me, I know. Who cares if Ichi Corp is making millions off selling these things? If I don’t have to eat another pile of frozen dung then I’m happy.”

With the lack of available land and water, traditional food processing is scarce. Ichi Corp is a leader in developing new organics for consumption in Asia Proper.

Ichi Corp has announced that they will introduce two new flavors next year, seaweed and chocolate.

Dr. Fritz Vialac of the Asian Alliance announced that medical experts have developed a new device to test DNA which will save the Alliance millions of dollars and manpower. The device is barely thicker than a piece of paper and takes only seconds to work. Patients will barely feel the incision.

“We have been searching for a way to test and harvest DNA quicker. It’s become so important to our society but the old way was just holding us back,” Dr. Vialac said. “I tried it myself and I didn’t feel a thing. I think it’s going to revolutionize the industry.”

Some observers expressed fears that the United Americas may try to steal the technology but Lieutenant Rivers of the Asian Alliance said that it’s impossible. “Sure they could try but we’ll just blast them to fuck and back. That’s what we always do. HOO Ha!”

The new device for DNA testing isn’t expected to be in widespread use for another 6 months or so.

Funding support for this device was provided by The Olaf Hopkins Research and the Vialac Trust for Genetic Development in the Health Sciences.
