George Francis Hotz (born October 2, 1989), alias geohot, million75 or simply mil is known for working with other people to unlock the iPhone, allowing the phone to be used with other wireless carriers, contrary to AT&T and Apple's intent.

He is also noted for jailbreaking the iPhone OS and developing a method for cracking the PlayStation 3.
On July 13th 2010: Hotz posted a message on his Twitter account stating that he was giving up trying to crack the PS3 any further

Hacking Apple iDevices :

According to Hotz's blog, he traded his unlocked 8GB iPhone to Terry Daidone, the founder of Certicell, for a Nissan 350Z and 3 8GB iPhones. Hotz said he wanted to give the iPhones to the other members of the team who created the hack with him. Hotz's hardware based unlocking technique has largely been replaced by software unlocking that does not require dis-assembly of the iPhone.

On February 8, 2008: Hotz developed the software unlock for the iPhone's new Bootloader Version 4.6 that was previously only achievable with a "testpoint based hardware unlock".

On July 3, 2009: Hotz announced purplera1n, the first public software exploit for jailbreaking the iPhone 3GS.

On October 11, 2009: Hotz released blackra1n, a jailbreak for all iPhones and iPod Touches. The only caveat was that the iPod touch third generation would need a "tethered jailbreak" to work.

On October 25, 2009: Hotz released Blackra1n RC2, an update to his previous blackra1n utility. This version allows MC Model iPod Touch 2G (8GB iPod Touch third generation) and new-bootrom iPhone 3GS users to jailbreak their iPod touches as well. (tethered jailbreak only)

On October 31, 2009: Hotz announced the impending release of Blackra1n RC3, this version will include blacksn0w which will allow SIM unlock of all iPhones using Blacksn0w RC1. Blacksn0w was originally scheduled for release

on November 4, 2009: but due to positive test results it was moved to the 3rd. Blacksn0w was the #1 trending topic on Twitter as requested by GeoHot only moments after its release.

On April 13, 2010: Hotz established a website for his newest jailbreak software limera1n.
Limera1n was rumored to be his newest jailbreaking tool.

On June 24, 2010: Hotz wrote on Twitter that he had no plans to release a new jailbreak. He has told people looking for a jailbreak release to 'keep an eye on Spirit, the currently used program for 3.1.x jailbreaking, which lead to the belief there are plans to update the software to allow iOS 4.0jailbreaking. This however has not had a release date confirmed.

On July 10, 2010: Hotz published that he had been able to jailbreak an iPhone 4 running iOS 4.0. As evidence, he provided a picture of the device executing Cydia. This post has since been edited and blocked from public view, in which Hotz stated that the picture was "quite obviously fake", addressing himself to "the haters".

On July 13, 2010: Hotz announced his retirement from iDevices hacking, saying that it's not fun as it used to be, and people were taking too serious something he used to do just as a distraction.

On October 8, 2010: Hotz confirmed he was releasing a Jailbreak on 10/11/10; one day after therelease of GreenPois0n. He also posted a picture of limera1n running on an iPhone 3G S, iPod Touch fourth generation, iPhone 4.

On October 9th: Hotz released limera1n Beta 1 - without support for the 3GS (due to a problem with the bootrom) Fixed. Additionally, the exploit has been found to be moderately buggy, even on supported devices. This suspended the release of the SHatter exploit in the form of greenpois0n, due for release the next day. On the limera1n website, he claims this was to make the Chronic Dev team "do the right thing" - presumably implying that they should save their jailbreak exploit for fifth generation devices. He later went on to release three more betas, containing support for iPhone 3GS models and iPod Touch 2G models, along with various bug fixes and other stability enhancements.

Personal life

Hotz grew up in Glen Rock, New Jersey, where he attended the Bergen County Academies, a magnet public high school. He has one sister, Julia Hotz, alias "Fifty". He currently attends the Rochester Institute of Technology studying biotechnology.

Once your friend accepts using the Find My Friends app, you will then be able to see that friend’s location on a list or on a map.

Now,all iPhone 4S owners or any iDevice having Siri Can use Find My Friends App Through Siri.

First thing you have to do is to Login in Find My Friends App,Then you can Exit the Application and Call Siri. There is 2 Command Lines:“Find Patty.” or “Where is Patty?”, If Siri didn't locate your Friend's Location that probably because either haven't added them to your Find My Friends account or they Are not currently sharing their location. All of us have been waiting eagerly for the A5 Untethered jailbreak, but we think all the waiting has come to an end.

The Dev Team confirmed in their blog that the A5 Unthethered Jailbreak is Extremely close in a post "Corona A5 jailbreak nearly ready to pop!",The Post contains an important news regarding the A5 Unthetherd Jailbreak .

“Due to the combined efforts of @pod2g and members of the iPhone Dev Team and Chronic Dev Team, we’re nearly ready for a general release! All technical hurdles dealing with the underlying technique have been overcome, and its now all about making the jailbreak as bug free as possible…

Jailbreak programs:

To be as flexible as possible, the A5 version of the corona jailbreak will take multiple forms:

Chronic Dev have incorporated the overall flow into a GUI that runs on your Mac or PC. The goal is for the GUI to be enough for most cases.

iPhone Dev have incorporated the exact same flow into a command-line interface (CLI). This will allow us to help users through individual steps of the jailbreak manually, to both help the user and help improve the overall flow. Although the CLI will also allow the user to perform the entire jailbreak from beginning to end, we anticipate it will be more useful in debugging the occasional errors. The CLI currently has over 20 individual options (in addition to the single “jailbreak” option) that should be useful during debug after the GUI release.

Once all the bugs in the flow are worked out, we’ll also incorporate it into the redsn0w GUI (but still leave the CLI freely available too). In order to maximize the chances of the jailbreak working for everyone, the redsn0w GUI will use native Apple iTunes libraries — this technique is slightly different than how the Chronic Dev GUI handles communications, and should provide nice combined coverage for all the odd computer configurations out there.

Firmware:

The supported firmware versions will be:

iPhone 4S: 5.0 (9A334), 5.0.1 (9A405) and the “other” 5.0.1 (9A406)

iPad 2: 5.0.1 (9A405)

iPhone 4S owners looking to maximize their chances of achieving an eventual software-based carrier unlock should be staying at 5.0. Everyone else should be at 5.0.1. If you’re an iPhone 4S owner who already updated to 5.0.1, it’s too late to go back down to 5.0. But if you’re on 9A406 it is possible to downgrade the BB by going to the 9A405 version of 5.0.1 while the window is still open.”

Now There are 2 Jailbreaking tools,The Chronic Dev Team which will be named "Absinthe",The iPhone Dev Team will release a new command line which will help you to diagnose issues and repair any issues.

Two iPad 3 Models - Facebook Integration found in iOS 5.1 Beta 3

Report Says iPad 3 will have high-definition screen and will go on sale in March, want any proof for the iPad 3 ? Well, we have got one. Recently, Apple uploaded a new iOS 5.1 Beta 3 accompanied by some improvements and bug fixes. After all, a developer was checking the iOS 5.1 Beta 3 source code and found strange codes.

First thing was 2 new iPad models which seems to be the next generation iPad 3 Models "J1AP and J2AP",
Why they are two ? we still don't have any clue, the second thing was some statements proves a Facebook Integration in the iOS, take a look in the picture below.

It is known that the iOS 4 was set to have this Facebook integration feature, but it failed after a lot of negotiations.
We don't know yet if all of this were confirmed but it would be great to have a feature like this, all we can do is to wait for the iOS 6 and see what it is hiding for us ?

iBooks issue is solved after iOS 5.0.1 untethered Jailbreak

iBooks is an amazing way to download and read books. iBooks includes the iBookstore, where you can download the latest best-selling books or your favorite classics – day or night. Browse your library on a beautiful bookshelf, tap a book to open it, flip through pages with a swipe or a tap, and bookmark or add notes to your favorite passages.

But unfortunately after Jailbreaking your iDevice using Corona Jailbreak for iOS 5.0.1, when you launch iBook an error will pop up Like the one in the screen Shot below.

A lot of users were driving mad from this error, because they mainly use their iDevices for the iBook App which makes their iDevice Useless now, but Xvolks, a jailbreak developer came with a solution after all,

the error has been resolved so you can enjoy your iBook after jailbreaking iOS 5.0.1 and it is said that it will be considered in the next release of the corona Jailbreak.

With the invaluable help of @pod2g, I've patched the kernel in corona to make iBooks work without the ugly tweak called xBooks. Still no ETA. I've developed this patch on my iPhone 4. It needs to be adjusted to the other devices and being tested. Since I do not own an iPad nor an iPod, I cannot do that myself. Hopefully, MuscleNerd will do the rest of the job and will release the package soon. For xBooks users: When this fix will be released, the xBooks fix will be obsolete and you'll need to remove it and reinstall iBooks.

All of us can't wait for the untethered jailbreak for the A5 chip, let's all wish that they can release it as fast as possible with consideration of that iBook error. Cheers.

iPod Touch Runs Siri Without A Proxy Server [Video]

We all know that not all Apple products supports Siri, and a lot of attempts were made to add Siri to another devices using Spire, but after all there was a big problem which is the proxy server.

“AppleGordon” has just purchased a new iPod Touch 4G, in the iOS 5 Welcome menu instead of making it as a new device he restored of an iPhone 4S on his iPod Touch 4G, when the process was finished Gordon said That he got Siri on his iPod Touch.

Siri doesn't work completely because it cant connect to the Apple Servers, but the dictation feature works without any error and it has the full interface on the iPod Touch.

Big display, Thinner body, 2 Side home buttons, Faster processor all with one hand grip !

A lot of people like what Kris has done with the bigger screen display because that's what all iPhone fans were waiting for in the iPhone 4S so i think it would be a great idea considering it in the Next iPhone 5 concept, 2 Side home buttons, most of the iPhone 5 concepts were having the point that they don't want a home button anymore but putting a home button in the side, will be making some troubles for pressing the 2 in the same time and it will be a little bit hard to enter the phone DFU Mode.

Faster Processor, obviously it will be the A6 Processor Chip making faster Apps switching and faster graphics.

In my own opinion, i think it's a little bit similar to the Galaxy Note Concept. So What do you think ?

Now you can customize your Siri Mic color with this cydia tweak. The First Thing you need to know that you must have a jailbreaked device to add this Tweak,if you are having an iPhone 4S or an iPad 2 so You have to wait for the release of the A5 Untethered jailbreak until it is released by pod2g.

In order to have this cydia Tweak you must be having the cydia app Spire(Siri),with your own proxy server to work well,

Now,First in order to have this you must have the TechNetec Dev Team Repo.

1) Enter Cydia —>Manage—>Resources—> Edit—>Add (video instruction Below)
2) Enter: repo.technetec.com
3) Tap on the TechNetec repo, and select the mic color you want.
4) Tap on install. (foun on the right top)
5) This will reboot, if you didnt have WinterBoard. If you had it, it will say “Return to Cydia”.
6) After you install, Open WinterBoard.
7) Select on Themes. And select the preferred Siri color.

Receive Notifications When Cydia Apps Are Updated ? CydiaBulletin

The Jailbreak Developer Ryan Petrich has started working on a Notification Center tweak called CydiaBulletin.

As you can see from the previous Screen shot, that the Cydia tweak has informed Petrich that a New version of Activator is available in the Cydia Store. You can navigate to Cydia through this notification.

It's nice having someone working on a tweak like this. There is no any ETA until now but it is believed that it wont be appearing before the A5 Untethered jailbreak comes to life.

Having trouble with iBooks on the latest Corona untether for iOS 5.0.1? Don't worry, pod2g has said that an update is coming to resolve issues with iBooks crashing on iOS devices running the latest jailbreak.

Not long ago after Apple released iOS 5.1, beta 3 firmware. Hacker Sonny Dickinson has already uncovered some interesting information.

Apparently the latest iOS update contains evidence that Apple is working on an iPad-compatible version of Siri, Apple’s popular digital assistant. Dickinson uncovered the reference after loading iOS 5.1 beta 3 onto his iPad 2…

Anyone can see the Siri evidence, its not hidden within the firmware’s source code. Anyone thats has iOS 5.1 beta 3 can see it. Just open up the Settings application on your iPad navigate to General, and select the Keyboard tab.

There you should find a new option labeled “About Privacy and Dictation.” This section has not been in the iPad before, so this could be a good indication that Apple is working on bringing at least the Dictation part of Siri to its tablet.Or even, it could be the making for the iPad 3 that has been is the rumor box this couple of months.

Or is it one of Apples tricks to get you to lose your jailbreak for Siri?

Apple has released Safari 5.1.2 to users this afternoon, available by direct download or by hitting up Software Update. The update is relatively minor, but brings along bug fixes that address issues of stability, extensive memory usage, fixing web pages that were flashing white, and now allows PDFs to be displayed within web content. Macworld shows us a cool trick for iPhone photographers, that will enable them to take steadier shots beyond using the volume button on their iPhone. The new trick simply lets you plug in your iPhone’s Remote Earbuds, open the camera app, and then use the volume button on the headphones as a trigger. This is perfect for steadier shots, or taking a better front-facing shot. Interestingly, this trick can even be used with a Bluetooth device, as a sort of wireless remote.

The iPad is wonderful and all that, but it is not without its flaws and weaknesses many of which I expect Apple will address with the next incarnation of the tablet device. However, for those looking to use the current generation iPad as a mobile business tool, Microsoft may be the hero with Docs.

Microsoft and Apple are the developers of three of the most popular operating systems in the world (Windows, iOS & Mac OS X) powering their powers laptops, tablets and phones.
of course nothing of the various iWork for iPad apps can be compared to the real office productivity software like the Microsoft Office 2010, and then the question is why I even have an iPad then. Why not simply use the more robust, more functional, more capable Windows 7 notebook, and stick with Office 2010? the answer of course will be The iPad weighs about a third of what my notebook weighs, is only about a quarter of the thickness, has four to five times the battery life.
the good news is that according to sources Microsoft is now working on an Apple’s tablet version of their popular Microsoft Office software suite,and maybe in a few days we will use that app.
That means there wil be a armistice between the 2 tech gaints Apple and Microsoft ,and maybe we will see duplicate masterpieces tablets in the future,

Siri now can control an Apple television after the developer Hjalti Jakbsson has authored a Plex plugin for Siri Proxy that gives you a glimpse at how Apple's rumored television might work.

Ever since Steve Jobs told Walter Isaacson that he 'finally cracked' the solution to an easy to use, integrated television set, analysts have been predicting that Siri voice control is the answer to revolutionizing the TV.

Thanks to a new plugin written by Jakobsson for the Plex media server we can get an idea of how convenient a voice controlled television would be.

People who wants to know more about Siri Proxy:

Siri Proxy is a proxy server for Apple's Siri "assistant." The idea is to allow for the creation of custom handlers for different actions. This can allow developers to easily add functionality to Siri.

The main example I provide is a plugin to control my thermostat with Siri. It responds to commands such as, "What's the status of the thermostat?", or "Set the thermostat to 68 degrees", or even "What's the inside temperature?"

iPhone's Accelerometer or Volume buttons can be used to scroll in Any App [Video]

PhyScroll is a new tweak wich allows you to use your accelerometer or volume buttons to scroll in any app in an easy way and saves time to you.It's so easy to handle and so easy to work.

It works with any application! Download it, select the desired activation method going to Activator preferences (Settings -> Activator), open an app and activate PhyScroll. Then you just need to tilt the device/press the volume buttons to scroll!

You can change between the scrolling methods (accelerometer and/or volume buttons) in PhyScroll settings. The acceleration rate of the accelerometer scroll and the size of the volume scroll is also configurable.

If you are using iPad, you can enable manual scroll selection. This option will ask you in what scroll you want to activate PhyScroll, and it's useful for applications that have multiple scrolls, like most of the iPad apps.

Microsoft's Chief Research and Strategy Officer, Craig Mundie was interviewed few days ago and about siri he said "Apple's Siri isn't new technology, and that Apple had focused on it due to the iPhone 4S's lack of features.Siri`s application has nothing special in,and it’s all about the heavy advertising held for it via the communication vehicles."

That was a reply of Matthew Miller "Frankly, we were quite surprised by the results as we knew Siri was good (nowhere close to perfect), but we didn't expect Microsoft's TellMe service to be so bad."

In comparison, I regard Siri as a speech interaction technology. Because it places much more emphasis on context, it appears to be accurate enough for the limited set of functionality it provides. Speech recognition might not be new technology, but Siri definitely puts a pretty face on it. It remembers your name,your friends names and places, responds through voice and makes jokes. plus the easy way you can deal with it "check up the weather outside","text my gf i,ll be late a little bit"

Siri still can't drive your car yet but at least she can start it, locking and unlocking car doors now by hooking Siri to a proxy server that is connected to your car's system. maybe in a few days later she will be able to drive it.

Unlock iPhone 4S On AT&T Without Any Apps (How To GUIDE)

A bug has been discovered by a developer which will allow you to unlock AT&T version of iPhone 4S to run it on any carrier. The bug concerns on the Airplane mode. You must have your AT&T iPhone 4S to be able to the trick. You'll be able to run any carrier as T-Mobile after doing so.

Follow the below steps:

Insert original carrier AT&T SIM card
Dial 611 for AT&T customer service hotline and drop the call
Turn on Airplane Mode
Take out AT&T SIM card
Insert T-Mobile SIM card
Make sure WiFi is off ( also tap on ‘Forget this Network” to make sure it doesn’t connect automatically later)
Switch off Airplane Mode and iPhone will search for network. This is followed by the Apple splash screen appearing.
Activation Required will be displayed on the screen
EDGE network will activate automatically – notice the ‘E’ on the top left corner of the scre
Wait for about 20-30 seconds and turn off the phone
Turn on iPhone and the same Activation Required screen will be displayed
When you see one signal bar, tap on Use Cellular Connection
Eject SIM card
Activation Required screen will be displayed the second time
Insert SIM card
Unlocked!
