In the following few weeks, I’ll be providing articles on the Healthy Habits blog--vital information pertaining to toxic chemicals in your homes, workplaces, and communities. These dangerous, deadly chemicals are present in many environments. They are putting your health at risk; chemicals that are found in clothing, baby bottles, food containers, cookware, air fresheners, and the receipts you get when making purchases from gas stations, or in ATM transactions.

Wood is the most active and used commodity in today’s global economy. And half of all harvested wood is used for fuel. Approximately two billion people depend on wood and charcoal to provide them heat and fuel for cooking. However, more than 1.5 billion people do not have fuel wood to provide for their immediate needs. Additionally, due to deforestation we are losing about 1 acre of old-growth wood from tropical and temperate forests, (the size of a football field) every second, every day. In this article I provide additional information pertaining to the ecological and economical dilemma we are currently facing concerning the demise of wood.

Our lives and livelihood depend on how healthy we are. Though we cannot help where we were born or our biological makeup, we do have behavior choices that control whether we live healthier and longer lives. In this writing I provide primary influences on our health and explain how they are inter-related.

Healthy habits are essential for a better lifestyle. Parents who are experiencing domestic violence, marital conflicts, and financial difficulties create poor attachments with their children. In addition, parents who do not use appropriate and effective parenting strategies are more likely to have their children grow up with a tendency towards violent or aggressive behavior. In this article I explain how socialization, violence, and mental health affects children and their relationship with their parents.
