The internet represents an unparalleled opportunity for work. Web designers might as well be the modern equivalent of the gold miners of the Old West. They are searching for riches and traveling until they find their fortune. However web design skills are only part of it. A webmaster may have powerful skills but they are not necessarily SEO masters. Let’s compare and contrast.

A webmaster must master not only the basics such as HTML skills but also web design programs, web programming languages, graphic skills and pretty much must have advanced computer skills. They must understand all of the tricks of the trade as well as be creative enough to use them.

SEO masters on the other hand not only have to master all of the tricks of their trade must they must also learn the black arts of their trade. They have to not only be able to manipulate the search engines ranking algorithms but also do it in such a way as to not get caught. They have not only the fighting skills but also the necessary stealth skills to be invisible.

The internet’s unprecedented growth will only continue but an exponential rate. As the technology for website functionality increases so will the methods for ranking websites in the search engines. These two areas give an unprecedented level of financial opportunity that no one has ever seen before. They are so many chances for people to improve their lives with education and work. The internet has the potential to give everyone their shot and their right at a good life. This is what is currently believed to be happening on more web servers today. Some programmers have viewed Google as uncomfortable to rank newer websites until they have proven their viability to exist for more than a period of “x” months. Thus the term “Sandbox Effect” applies to the idea that all new websites have their ratings placed in a holding tank until such time is deemed appropriate before a ranking can commence.

However the website is not hindered as much as the links that are reciprocated from other users. Newer links that are created are put on a “probationary” status until again they pickup in rank from other matured sites or placed directly by an ad campaign. The idea behind the hindrance is to prevent a fast ranking to occur on a new website. The usual holding period seems to be between 90 and 120 days before a site would start obtaining rank from reciprocal or back linking.

Some advice has been given to have companies you are going to reciprocate back add your link first to the website. This may help grandfather your site in, thus reducing the waiting time associated with “new” websites. People have noticed a 0 page rank when first signing up and receiving a bolstering 7 page ranking after 4 months. Why the delay? The fact is, that if people realized how easy it would be to get a high ranking, would that take away the credibility of the engine. It depends on whom you ask, but it does seem to be happening frequently to newer subscribers. Do not discontinue back linking, your rank will eventually appear.
Jakob Jelling is the founder of http://www.sitetube.com. Our next tip is another great way to create a steady flow of income from your blog on a monthly basis.
Believe it or not, it’s by selling text links on your blog. Yup, you heard me right — people will pay you to put links on your site.

Why would people buy links from my blog?
That’s a very good question and there’s several reasons. The most popular one being it helps their site rank higher in search engines like Google and Yahoo. Essentially, the more backlinks you have pointing to your website, the more important your site is (in Google’s eyes).
There are many other factors involved and I could write an entire article about it but we’re going to stay on track. Another reason is because buying links from another site drives additional traffic to their site but this is seen more as a bonus since 99% of people who buy links do so for the backlink value.

That’s great and all but how do I get started?
You could easily build your own advertising page and tell visitors “Text links for sale” but you most likely won’t make any sales (unless you’ve got a really popular site with lots of traffic already). So instead, let’s leave the sales, marketing, and invoicing of your links to a 3rd party who’s already established in this space.
I use (have been for a few years now) and recommend Text Link Ads. They are a well established link buying and selling company which means you don’t need to do anything except add your listing, set a price, and approve new links.
Personally I like selling links through TLA better than Google AdSense because it’s guaranteed monthly revenue. Google AdSense is CPC which means you only get paid when someone clicks on your ad. Using Text Link Ads, you get paid just for letting someone put a link on your site. You set the price, they buy the link, you get paid. It’s that simple. I make several hundred dollars a month from different niche blogs just by selling links using TLA.

Step #1 - Sign up for Text Link Ads
This is the first step for any new advertising program and usually the hardest. TLA carefully selects which sites can be added to their network so if your blog is brand new, then you should wait at least 6 months before applying. If decide to apply anyways and get denied, I’d send them an email and ask to be manually added.
Their automatic approval system runs some basic calculations on your site (blog age, page rank, popularity, etc) which determine whether you’ll be approved. I’ve actually been rejected for a couple of my blogs but when I emailed them, they manually approved them. Sign up for Text Link Ads and start selling links today!

Step #2 - Add your Listing to their Marketplace
Assuming you’ve been approved, you can now login and setup your site. This is where the power of TLA comes into play. They have a virtual marketplace where you list your site and hundreds of visitors (if not thousands) a day have a chance to see your site.
You’ll enter your site title, a brief description, select a category where your blog belongs, how many ad spots you have available (Blogger limits you to only 5 per link widget but you can have two widgets for a total of 10 links), etc. The price is determined by TLA but again, it’s negotiable. I’ve emailed them asking to raise the price on at least two of my blogs and they did it no problem.

Once you’ve added it, your listing will look something like the above screenshot. This is what anyone visiting the TLA marketplace will be able to see.

Step #3 - Installing the TLA Code onto your Blog
This may sound intimidating especially if you’re not comfortable editing template code but it’s simple. Text Link Ads has a wizard script that walks you through the entire process. The only part you need to do is create a new page element on your blog (you must be using the new xml Blogger templates to do this).
Here are the two steps you need to complete within your TLA account before actually going into your Blogger template page elements.

Now that you’ve got the code, you can just follow the instructions that TLA provides about plugging this into your Blogger template. Once TLA verifies that the Ad Code you installed is setup properly, your listing will show up in their marketplace. Then it’s only a matter of time before you make your first text link sale.
Don’t get frustrated because it might take a few months before that “You’ve got new links to approve” email comes from TLA. You need to think of this as a long-term investment because once someone buys a link, they’ll want it for several months.

More facts about TLA

You receive 50% of the sale price for each text link ad sold off your blog

You can display Text Link Ads on the same page with Google AdSense, Yahoo! Publisher Network, and other contextually served ads

You get paid monthly directly to your PayPal account or have them mail you a check

Easy to setup and start on Blogger

So what are you waiting for? Go sign up for Text Link Ads and setup a publisher account and monetize your blog now. It kills me when I see blogs out there without any sort of advertising. I can’t stand the “Made for AdSense” sites but if you’ve got a blog, why not put a couple ads or links to help pay for your lunches?
Stay tuned for the next article in this series about Making Money From Your Blog.

How To Make Money From Your Blog? #1

For many people blogging is a way to express themselves online for the rest of the world to read. Usually it’s about a specific topic or if it’s a personal blog, then the blog posts could range from anything like your latest trip to Europe or how your dog just had puppies. Nevertheless, blogging is easy for anyone with a computer and internet access to use.

So for those who enjoy writing and spend lots of time doing it, why not make some extra money from it? It doesn’t cost you anything and only requires a little bit of time to setup but the return could be well worth it. That’s the beauty about online advertising programs — they work 24/7 even when you’re sleeping. Talk about a nice passive way to earn some extra money each day!My first tip is probably the most popular method (and easiest) way to get started with making money from your blog. It’s a program called AdSense from a small company you’ve probably never heard of called Google. Knowingly or not, you’ve viewed hundreds of Google’s ads online and probably even clicked on a few since they were relevant to whatever topic or website you were reading at the time. That’s one of the great things about this program and I’ll talk more about it further down this post.

Use Google AdSense
Google’s advertising program is free to sign up and you can usually be online within an hour or so (assuming your application is approved quickly). Then adding AdSense to your blog is easy especially with Blogger’s new AdSense widget (it’s quite simple with WordPress as well but I’m going to assume WordPress users already know how to do this since it’s just cut and pasting html). Once your application is approved, just log into your account, customize your ad unit, and copy and paste a block of HTML code into your blog. I’ll give you a walkthru of this process.

Step #1 - Sign up for Google AdSense
First you need to create an AdSense account (Sign up) which doesn’t take more than a few minutes to do. Once you’ve got your account setup and approved, go on to step #2.

Step #2 - Add the AdSense Page Element to Your Blog
The nice thing about the new Blogger is you can easily add Google AdSense to your blog using their built in page elements. Login to your Blogger account, navigate to “Template” => “Page Elements” and then within the layout area, click on “Add a Page Element”. From there you’ll see this screen where you want to select the “AdSense” Page Element and click on “Add to Blog”.

Next you’ll see another screen where it will ask you to login (if it’s the first time you’ve tried to add this AdSense Page Element before). Just enter the email address and password you used when setting up your AdSense account. Once you successfully login, you’ll next see the ad configuration screen. This is where you select the ad format type (leaderboard, banner, text ad, etc) with many different sizes to choose from. Now remember to keep your site visitors in mind when selecting an ad format. You don’t want the ad to dominate your entire blog page which would annoy your readers. I’d recommend starting with a small rectangle or horizontal row format before going too crazy.

Don’t forget to also select a nice color scheme that matches your blog. Statistics show that the more blended in your blog ads are, the better change people will click on them. Remember to abide by the Google TOS though which I encourage you to read before breaking the rules by accident. Now once you’ve got the exact color scheme and ad format ready to go, click on the orange “Save Changes” button to add it to your blog.

Step #3 - Save and View Your New Ads
You should now save your Page layout and view your blog. The ad unit should be in place and ready to start making you money! Sometimes it takes a little while before ads start showing up and even a couple of days before relevant ads are displayed. This is usually the case if you’ve got a newer blog and Google isn’t familiar with your blog’s content yet. Google will then crawl your site and identify it’s general topic so it knows what ads to display. Pretty cool eh? Here’s a picture of the end result. Notice the red highlighted ad unit now displayed on my blog.

Bonus Tips
Now a few tips and a warning before you get too giddy about all this money you’re going to start making. First, never (and I mean never) click on your own ads. Google will know and they will ban you from the AdSense program. It’s not worth it! Secondly, don’t expect the big bucks to start rolling in right away. It’s a numbers game. The more traffic you get to your site, the better chances you have of somebody actually clicking your ad. Typically with ads, you can expect a 2% - 4% click thru rate (CTR) assuming your ad is in a good spot which means for every 100 page views you get, expect 2-4 ad clicks. Translation — keep writing great quality blog posts and your traffic will increase over time and so will the ad clicks which equals money in your pocket.

Other Reasons to Use Google Adsense

It’s a very simple and proven solution that hundreds and thousands of blogs and websites across the world use today.

AdSense is by Google which is reliable and trustworthy. Once you have earned money from Google, they will pay it to you.

The ads will be contextual, which means they will be relevant to the content of your blog. Targeted ads = happier visitors, higher click thrus, and more money for you.

You get paid on the click which is far better than on a conversion.

Google provides free reports so you can see exactly how many clicks and how much you’ve earned! You’ll find yourself using that report every day just to see how much money you’re making.

The ads are so well-matched to your site’s content that your readers will actually find them useful.

So go sign up for your AdSense account (Sign up) now and you’ll soon be able to start making money from your blog! Alternatively, your might not like taking exams and feel that this could stop you doing well in your final GCSEs.

Whatever your situation you could think about work-based learning.

Work-based learning will give you the opportunity to gain a qualification while at the same time getting good on the job training and money in your pocket.

Apprenticeships

Apprenticeships are the most common way young people enter in to work-based learning. At 16 you can do two levels of Apprenticeships and both lead to a National Vocational Qualification, Key Skills qualification and technical certificates.

They are very job specific.

If you decide to undertake an Apprenticeship you will get the opportunity to work for an employer and build on your skills and qualifications and of course earn money.

Depending on how well you do in your Apprenticeship you might be able to go on to higher education.

e2e

If you feel you are not ready to cope with work on your own, Entry to Employment (e2e) might be for you.

Your e2e programme will be individually designed for you and will help to prepare you for work or an Apprenticeship. It will give you an opportunity to try out different jobs and to take more qualifications.

Your e2e programme will last as long as you need it and you will get paid a training allowance.

Time off for study and training

You might be thinking of taking a job that does not offer any further learning opportunities. But if you didn't achieve the right level of qualifications at the end of Year 11 and want to undertake some further study or training to improve your situation help is at hand.

Legally your employer has to allow you Time Off for Study and Training. This time off should be paid and during working hours.

Starting your own business

You might want to start your own business. This will mean a lot of hard work and effort for you.

What business do you want to set up, what equipment and premises might you need and where will you get financial backing?

After all this effort you could still fail as the hard fact is that many new businesses don't survive. You might still need to think about gaining new skills; undertake work with learning and gain qualifications to improve your chances.

Careers Advice

At the end of Year 9 you should be offered an interview with your form tutor.

As well as being able to discuss your subject options you should also be able to talk about your future career plans.

The decisions from this interview should be recorded in an Individual Learning Plan (ILP). Your ILP will help you to keep on track in achieving you career goals.

You should also be offered and interview at the end of Year 11.

You will be able to find out about the different options available to you if you think entering work-based learning is for you.

The decisions from this interview should be recorded on your Individual Learning Plan (ILP). You should have used your ILP over the last 2 years to help you monitor progress towards achieving your career goals.

Who can help

Talk to your Careers teacher to help you decide if work-based training be the best option for you after Year 11.

There is a useful guide for Year 10 and 11 students to help plan your next steps after Year 11. How can information in the public domain actually have an impact on their Adsense earnings?

They are of course very wrong because many Google Adsense affiliates, including the writer of this article have dramatically increased their Adsense revenue with the help of free information available on the net to everybody. I have even been able to get valuable Adsense keywords for free (but that is another story for another article).

However the secret of being able to turn free information into pure gold, lies in being able to know how to process this information from common dirt into gold.

Using Free Information As It Is Will Not Grow Your Google Adsense Earnings

The legendary Wright brothers in inventing mechanized flight displayed an uncanny ability for processing information. This was actually their strongest point. The brothers, who never finished high school approached their highly scientific task by gathering and analyzing all the information they could lay their hands on concerning flying and developments in aviation up to that point. There was no Internet in those days, so they had to gather magazines, books, papers and write for information through snail mail.

In analyzing the information they received, they discovered that not all of it was correct. One critical bit of widely accepted calculation was wrong and this led them to the creation and invention of sophisticated wind tunnels, which gave them a much more accurate calculation. This was no trial and error exercise and by the time the Wright brothers did their famous test flight at Kitty Hawk, they already knew, even before they started, that the crude machine they had put together would fly.

Free information as it is will not have a major impact on your Google Adsense earnings. However you can use the Wright brothers' methods and analyze all the free information you can lay your hands on. I have done just that and discovered that lots of the free Adsense info available tends to hint without giving full details or critical fine points, which you will have to discover on your own.

How To Generate New Google Adsense Earning Ideas

The whole idea is that you should be able to use the free information to generate your own ideas to help you increase your Google Adsense earnings.

For instance, some basic free information I came across suggested that people tended to click more on the Google Adsense ads in subjects where there wasn't enough free information available online. This led me to research on how best to ensure that there is just enough information available at my blogs to create an even bigger hunger for more information on the side of the reader. This additional information I then offer for sale at a very reasonable price, but there is also the option of visitors to my blog clicking on the Google Adsense ads for more information. It has taken me sometime to perfect this technique, but I am now getting it right and my Google Adsense earnings have shot up dramatically because of this single technique that I developed as a result of processing free information.

Carefully analyze every bit of free Google Adsense info you come across and find a way of applying it to your sites. The more you do this, the more you'll increase your earnings.

Being A Writer Or Having Access To A Low Cost Writer Is A Clear Google Adsense Advantage

In other words what we are saying here is that to be able to benefit fully from the free information you come across, you will have to do a lot of research and development. The only way to do effective R&D (research and development) is by constantly testing and trying out new things. In the Google Adsense world, this will mostly involve the content at your sites.

Those Google Adsense affiliates who are good writers in their own right or those who have access to a low cost writer able to generate quality content for them have a definite advantage. Always remember that whatever you do, the more pages of useful content you have out there, the higher the number of clicks you will end up receiving. So for starters just generating loads of good content is a powerful strategy for earning more from your Google Adsense ads.

There are some smart Google Adsense affiliates who have found a way of maximizing on the revenue they generate from a single article or piece of content. There is actually a valuable special report 5 Ways To Earn Endless Streams Of Income For Years To Come From A Single Article that deals with this subject at length. Basically there are several ways you can re-package the same information online to ensure a steady continuos flow of revenue and income from a single article. This can help a Google Adsense affiliate to always have a budget to constantly generate new content for their sites or blogs all the time.

About the author: Christopher Kyalo is a successful online writer and entrepreneur. AdSense Can Make You A Huge Heap Of Cash Lots of people make the mistake of believing that AdSense is only good for bringing a site a few extra pennies a month. Wrong! AdSense can fund your lifestyle - if you get it right.

2. Junk Sites Get Junk Income But just because it's possible for a site to make a lot of money with AdSense, it doesn't mean that any site can make a lot of money with AdSense. Your site must have good content that can attract users on its own merit. There are a lot of different strategies available for producing good content for your site. You'll need to use them if you want to create the sort of site that makes real money.

3. Your Choice Of Ads Matter One of the first things that you'll have to do when you join AdSense is to pick the types of ads you want to display. Success relies on following certain principles that encourage users to click and persuades them that they've got a reason to do so. You'll need to know those principles.

4. You Can Influence The Ads You Receive! Here's a little known AdSense secret: you do have some control over the ads that get served on your site. That control isn't unlimited - but it is worth exercising. It's also a little complicated but it's got a lot do with keyword hotspots located in each Web page. (I explain it all in my book, Google AdSense Secrets.) That's definitely something you need to know!

5. Your Stats Are Your Best Friend The stats you get with your AdSense account might look complicated and well, a bit dull... but they're packed with useful information that can have a massive effect on your revenues. To make real money with AdSense, you need to know what your stats are telling, what they're not telling you and where you can find out more.

There's a lot you need to know to make serious money with AdSense. If you're missing that information, you're just throwing money away.

For more Google AdSense tips, visit www.adsense-secrets.com

Copyright 2005 Joel Comm. The AdSense ads displayed by Google on your site are matched to Google's interpretation of the content theme of your site. In this manner, the AdSense ads will be of interest to your site visitors looking for the unique content your site offers to them.

AdSense is a system where Google places its AdWords ads on the content pages of non-Google web sites. It is a pay-per- click (PPC) service where webmasters are paid a portion of the revenue collected by Google from the advertisers. The advertiser pays Google a pre-determined amount each time a web site visitor clicks on an AdSense advertisement.

AdWords is the Source of AdSense Income

AdWords ads are the source of all the AdSense income you are able to generate. As a result, you need to fully understand the AdWords system in order to appreciate how the AdSense system works.

Google describes AdWords as "a quick and simple way to purchase highly targeted cost-per-click (CPC) advertising, regardless of your budget." These paid ads (sponsored links) are displayed by Google on the search engine results page along with the non-paid (natural results) for a given keyword search.

In order to create a Google AdWords ad, it is necessary to specify what keyword or keyword phrase must be input by the visitor before your AdWords ad will be displayed. In addition, you need to set the maximum amount that you will pay to Google for each click on your AdWord.

There is a nominal activation fee but Google does not have a minimum monthly charge. Google provides an account Control Center that allows you to track the performance of your ad. The ad will be displayed within minutes to the searchers after your account billing information has been submitted to Google.

AdWords ads must adhere to specific Google requirements. The title can contain up to 25 characters, the ad text can have up to 70 characters and the display URL must be less than 36 characters.

AdWords Ranking

Google will rank an AdWords ad based on the maximum CPC, the click through rate (CTR) and the relevancy of the ad text. Google prefers relevant and well-targeted AdWords ads. Google determines ad placement using the value formula: CPC x CTR. The ad is placed higher as the valuation rises. Its possible for an advertiser to have a high rank position with a low CPC if the CTR makes the value to Google higher than other ads with a higher CPC.

Google requires a minimum CTR in order to protect the AdWords program value for its users. The CTR of all AdWords ads are monitored by Google on a continuous basis. An under-performing AdWords ad may be disabled by Google if the CTR does not improve.

AdSense Program

You need to apply and be accepted by Google before you can display the AdSense ads on your web site. They are very particular about the sites that are eligible and accepted. Googles name is on the ads and they cannot risk hurting the perceived value of the AdSense and AdWords programs.

Google requires you to comply with their program policies if your website is accepted into the AdSense program. Otherwise, your website may be dropped from the program.

Your site must be content-focused to be accepted. Google wants sites that offer high quality information or rich in relevant content. You should have lots of interesting and informative content for your site visitors.

As previously mentioned, AdSense is a program in which you get paid for your web site visitors clicking on targeted AdWords ads placed on your site. A click through is when a visitor clicks on one of the ads. The ads are placed in a display box that you put on your website in a location that earns you money.

You have a chance to make a significant amount of money if the AdSense box is placed in a strategic location on your site and you have sufficient targeted traffic.

The AdWords advertiser pays as little as $0.05 per click up to $100 per click depending on the unique keywords. The AdWords campaigns are usually budgeted for a specific period of time by the advertisers.

Contextual Advertising

Google uses proprietary algorithms to determine the content on each page of your web site with an AdSense box. It will identify the AdWords ads that are contextually relevant to your website visitors based on the content of your site. The identified AdWords ads are then displayed in your AdSense box. The ads on your site are the same ads that appear on the right side of a Google search results page for a specific keyword.

Contextual advertising is the process of displaying ads on a web site that are targeted to the individuals visiting the specific web site. The Google contextual advertising system scans the content text on your web site for keywords on each web page with the AdSense box. Google will display ads on each web page based on what it believes is the keyword theme for that specific page.

For example, if Google determines that the theme of a specific web site is about "fishing" then fishing-related AdWords ads will be displayed in the AdSense box. The ads about fishing are an approximate fit to the context or subject of the web page as determined by Google.

Monetize Your Content Rich Website

Every webmaster with high-quality and focused web page content can monetize their knowledge and expertise by using AdSense. You need interesting and informative content on your site in order to bring free and targeted traffic to your web site and capitalize on the AdSense model.

You can generate revenue on your AdSense website on a consistent basis if your web site has a focused theme with targeted traffic. It's a good idea to have multiple pages with rich content on various topics that are centered around the specific theme of your website. Google can then target relevant ads to display on each web page that contains the AdSense box.

Google performs all the technological work for you to use the AdSense program. After your web site is accepted into the AdSense program, you obtain the HTML code to insert into your web pages from Google. The code will incorporate whatever specific customization you choose for the AdSense box.

It does not take very long before relevant ads appear on your web pages. If the ads are not relevant then you need to modify your content and keywords to help Google isolate the theme of your site. This will involve trial and error.

AdSense Factor

The items needed (I call it the AdSense Factor) to make substantial money using the AdSense program include:

* A website with multiple web pages with a central content theme that draws significant targeted traffic.

* Relevant ads with high click values that are relevant to the theme on each web page.

* A high click through rate by your website visitors.

Website Central Theme

Your website should be based on a specific theme. This is where brainstorming comes into play. You need to spend ample time determining what the theme of your site should be. Generate a list of all your skills, capabilities and areas of interest as you would in developing a niche market.

Select one or more of the niches and identify a keyword phrase to be the central theme of your web site. Identify the "wants and needs" of individuals in that niche that desire information to be satisfied or produce a solution to a problem. In your brainstorming session, identify all the keywords you can that relate to the central theme.

As an example, assume your central keyword theme is "fishing." Potential supporting keywords could include (depending on the direction you take): fishing rods, lures, tackle, bait, gear, reels, boats and a long list of related items. You then need to develop a separate web page for every keyword item that you use to support the central theme.

Keyword Page Content

Each keyword page needs to have quality content that would be of interest and informative to your prospective visitors looking for information. You can develop the content yourself, use existing free information or pay someone to develop the content for you.

As a starter, you should attempt to generate the content yourself. Research each topic keyword and write articles of 200 to 600 words. The articles should be informative and rich in keywords for each web page with an AdSense box. Remember that "more" is better. The more content-related pages you have then the more AdSense ads you will be able to display and hopefully the more money you will make.

If you believe that you absolutely cannot write articles for whatever reason then look for existing free articles on your web page topic(s). You can also hire a freelance or ghostwriter at very reasonable rates to write articles for you. The choice is yours on how you proceed to get content for your web pages. When you write your own articles, try to write your articles as if you were talking to someone. Plan on inserting the keyword or keyword phrase in as many places that make sense. The keyword density should be in the 5 to 10% range. This means that the keyword should be included about once every 10 to 20 words in the article. In order to help Google determine the theme for each of your web pages with the AdSense box: use headings and subheadings, use "h1" through "h5" tags where appropriate to add attention and make all keywords bold "b" text in your articles.

Conclusion

You need to consider implementing AdSense on your site if you want to make money from advertising. Google has made it relatively easy and clear to monetize your website through the use of AdSense. The steps involved in the process are:

* First - develop a central keyword theme for your website that contains informative and quality information desired by your targeted visitors.

* Second - develop multiple content rich web pages with individual keyword themes that are focused around your central keyword theme.

* Third - apply and get accepted into the Google AdSense program.

* Fourth - install the AdSense ads box on each content web page with a defined keyword theme.

* Fifth - drive targeted traffic to your website where a percentage of your visitors looking for your informative and quality information will click on the AdSense ads.

* Sixth - collect and enjoy the money paid to you by Google for the clicks on each ad you presented to your visitors.

Keep the "AdSense Factor" in mind when developing your web pages and your visitors will have a high interest in your content. This will lead to your visitors clicking on the AdSense ads and putting money into your pocket.

================== Resource Box ======================= Copyright (C) 2005 F. Many webmasters are getting suckered into joining adsense in hopes of earning quick cash. What they aren't being told is that it's harder than that.

Though google adsense is still one of the best programs out there to earn revenue from your site, there is more to it than that. For example if you think you can just past the links in your site content and watch the money flow in well... In truth few people ever get that lucky some of have to work at it for a while before we get our cash. One of the few mistakes people ever make is thinking google adsense does all the work for you.

Of course we all know that adsense has the most features out there and that it is the best in customer support. Still though if you have a hard time getting clicks off your adsense account, you are not alone. Truth is even though most people may find the ads relevent, many surfers out there have caught the anti-ad bug. This is due to the fact that most ads on sites always misleed you. Everyone knows free hats, free ps2s, and just about free everything. Wich in reality you won't get the said materials. So even though they see an ad they what to click they will not click on thinking that it will mislead them.

This is partly due to the fact that many ads are circling the net with false promises. There exist no way to get past this except fooling the users into thinking that the link is not an ad but a link written by you. Though this is hard hence the ads by gooogle label that goes with every adsense advertisment. But that's why most people get more clicks by blending their ads with their content. Though they the ads by google they believe the links are not misleading since the sites are part of your site.

It's like soldiers when they wear camo. They want to blend in as much as possible. Well try it and see what you get!

About the author: Owner of http://allaboutadsense.blogspot.com/. In this months newsletter Im going to deal with the hot topic of the moment. Everyone seems to be talking about how easy it is to make money with adsense using adwords - and it is.

Now theres probably more than a few of you out there who perhaps know what one of the two are but not both and Im guessing that many of you dont know how you can tie these two systems together in an attempt to make money well dont worry - that's what I'm going to explain today.

To start at the start:

Q. What is Adsense? A. Adsense is Googles name for the system that puts context sensitive ads on to your web pages (if youve included their script code). The idea behind this system is that if you run a site that has content on subject cars then the adsense adverts should be on the subject of cars not DIY or Mortgages.

Q. Why would I be interested in letting Google put adverts on my website? A. Because you get paid per click, not per result but by click. Payments range from a few cents to over $10 a click pretty compelling reason.

So, in simple terms you now have an overview of adsense (please read the rest of the article before disappearing to register for an account). :-)

Q. What is Adwords? A. Adwords is the opposite of adsense, it is in fact Googles system for allowing you to advertise on other peoples websites (using adsense as the delivery mechanism).

Q. Why would I want to pay Google to advertise my site? A. There are many reasons why you might want to pay Google to advertise your site

Your site is brand new and not indexed yet You seem to be getting little or no traffic from the search engines You want pre-qualified traffic for your service or product You want to make money with adsense Ill be explaining that last point in detail so dont worry.

It is worth considering those first three reasons in a little more detail (because they probably dont make immediate sense to anyone whos not overly familiar with internet marketing).

Site Indexing. When you have a brand new site that youre really happy with and want to share with the world you need to let people know its there. This is done in many ways such as link exchanges, banner ads, email, etc.

However one of the cheapest ways of getting the word out, if youre not bothered about speed, is to get indexed by the search engines (visited by and then added to their database). This will obviously involve a large search engine optimisation effort from you and be an ongoing process (because your competition will be doing the same). This means that when people search for a certain word or phrase you might be seen (depends on your SEO).

Traffic If you are competing in a very crowded arena it might be hard or impossible for you to get on the first page of Yahoo/Googles results for your chosen words or phrase, an example of this would be the health and wellness market there are over 120 million websites out there and some of them are VERY well done so how are you going to beat them?

Pre-Qualified Traffic Traffic to a website is said to be pre-qualified if it has come from an advert for your subject area, a search engine search for your keyword/phrase or from a mailing list. By this example people who read my newsletter may be considered as being pre-qualified traffic on the subject of starting/improving an online business.

Now that you have a basic understanding of what they are you may have guessed how people try to make money with them, but Ill explain anyway (just to make sure were all on the same page).

We buy cheap words in Adwords and display Adsense adverts for expensive words

You may think that this is an easy exercise but believe me its not.

Lets have a look at how this works in reality note that word, not in our dreams, how does it ACTUALLY work.

If we develop a website with the keyword 'Mortgage' in mind (because we are selling information or products within this subject area) then from the screen shot below we see that to advertise with the keyword 'Mortgage' it will cost a fortune! (screen shot taken from google adsense - these figures change daily - this is purely as an example)

We can see that the average price per click is $12.78 - this is just for one click, not for a sale but just a visitor having clicked you advert to get to your site - and that's if we bid just over $39 a click, if you bid less you get less (if you bid 20 you get 2,400 hits and they cost $9.27). Obviously the adsense vendor site will not see anything like this amount of money (Google doesn't say what portion of the advertiser money you will actually get).

So if you know that these keywords are really expensive (and there are keywords that cost up 8 times this value) the question should come to mind - how much could I make with an information site on this subject?

Well lets see. If we assume that you want to target expensive words with cheap words you might use the following:

As you can see we have selected three 'cheap' phrases that will deliver targetted visitors (remember that this is only an example - don't rush off and do this as you will lose a shed load of money!). So from the example above we see that for a total cost of $40 we can get 76 visitors and if we assume that the 'mortgage' keyword pays $1 a hit then we'll be in profit by $36 a day.

Isn't that nice, not a quick way to get rich but free money ........................dear sweet Jesus, if only it were that simple! This is why I said DON'T rush off and implement this example.

If this was all there is to it there would be a lot more millionaires out there. There is one aspect of this example that has not been covered. We've assumed that everyone seeing the advert for the cheap keywords will want to click on the more expensive keyword adverts - they don't and they wont.

In general terms a good conversion rate for adsense is 5% (this is considered a GOOD conversion rate), so lets have a look at that example again.

Total hits = 76 Cost per hit = $0.53 Price per expensive hit = $1 Click through rate (CTR) 5%

hits * ctr * $1 = $3.80 Cost - profit = Bugger!

Oops! - you just emptied your bank account.

As yo can see from this example it's only when you sit down and really work out what everythings worth that you realise that you can lose big time. So, this example shows you how NOT to do it, it doesn't mean that in general it doesn't work, it does mean that you need to carefully select you keywords (the ones you're paying for and targetting) and develop a site for them.

This then begs the question How do you go about choosing the right keywords and markets? There are a couple of ways of doing this, first you can sit down and think of a few areas that seem to be really popular, for example mortgages, loans, forex trading. You can then go to somewhere like word tracker (they have a free trial service via our link - top right, completely free) which you can use to see how many people are actually searching for a given phrase - this then will tell you if there is sufficient interest to make it worth while. You then go and create your site and content. this then allows you to zoom in on one particular area, one niche if you like - but there is a better way.

The second way of getting yourself up and running with a money making adsense campaign is quicker and easier. You start by going out and finding all of the public domain articles that you can and saving them to your hard drive - ensuring that you also save the authors ID and link text (fair is fair). Once you have a reasonable collection of documents you then apply them to you web page (you have a single page and just save multiple copies of it with different names using the free content). Each one of these pages should have your adsense account script embedded and then it's just a case of getting indexed.

For both of these methods you still need to perform your own search engine optimisation.

This of course is also not an over night solution. if you are the impatient type you get yourslf a piece of software that will take your content and mass produce web pages for you and perform the required search engine optimisation for you (so in other words a turn key solution). This then leaves you with only the task of getting a domain name and hosting account to perform manually. This solution can obviously be expanded upon to include many different niche areas within one site, thus ensuring that the software does all of your SEO across the entire site and that all of your pages get listed.

Once you have your site completely up and running you can simply buy some very cheap pay per click advertising to get pre targetted traffic to your niche pages (doesn't have to be from Google - can be from findwhat or another smaller service or a big boy like overture).

For the impatient amongst you there might still be the question of cost, i.e. what does one of these all singing all dancing solutions cost? Simply put it depends, I know that there are a variety of solutions out there ranging from $50 a month up to $150 a month - and these are effectively rental systems, these systems have a variety of functionality but none seem to auto SEO for you.

If this strikes you as an interesting way to make money - but you don't want to shell out on expensive software, or worse still 'rent' software, you might like to consider the 'Cash Sense' system (which is in beta test at the moment).

More information on Cash Sense is available at http://www.Cash-Sense.com Until the next time, have fun.

Disclaimer: Adsense and Adwords are copyrighted trademarks of Google, adwords figures are shown here as an example only.

About the author: The author, Paul Foley, is the webmaster at http://www.HelpmeBuilda.Com and is also the author of the Page Generation Software 'Cash Sense' (which can be found at http://www.Cash-Sense.Com. That did not happen (yet). Well, that does not mean I have to throw that letter away, I will just have to backdate it for when I can do it.

When you are faced with this predicament, which I think everyone will come to at some point; you will need to separate yourself from the AdSense pack! You will have to transform yourself into an AdSense scientist and experiment with your website to get the best results possible! You might try some of the following:

Let's say that you are getting decent traffic to your website, so therefore you are getting a lot of AdSense impressions, but with little or no clicks. The symptoms could be related to a lack of relevancy with the AdSense ads. Go to your website and view, but DO NOT click on, your AdSense ads. Now, imagine you are one of your visitors to your website; do the ads seem relevant to your site? If you think there is a relevancy problem, you can do two things to combat it:

Look for a common thread among the AdSense ads and see if there is a term in your keywords or content that relates to it. If so, you might want to change the words to eliminate the connection.

Look at the web addresses at the bottom of the AdSense ads, you might consider blocking those web sites from your AdSense account, by doing this you will eliminate that ad from showing up again, but realize that you may get a similar ad to take its place.

Create more pages and add more content that is relevant. Make your website stickier. Make the visitor want to stay on your site longer.

Try not to think of AdSense first when putting your content together, think of your visitors and giving them something worthwhile, the AdSense stuff should just be a bonus, that is why it is considered passive income, it means you are not supposed to think about it!

Make sure you have positioned the ads well, do not hide them, do not be ashamed of them, you got them there for a reason!

Ensure that your site is well optimized - that everything it pointing to one thing - your targeted subject matter.

The problem could be that your keywords are just not that "lucrative", get yourself a listing of top paying keywords to ensure that you are using appropriate keywords that will bring in more money per click.

If you are consistently making a couple of bucks, a day or a week then replicate it. Create other web sites on different topics, different keywords. Make a couple of bucks a day or week with that one, and then continue to make another and another. Compound your efforts until you are making the kind of money you want to make.

Look for ways to increase traffic to your site, but keep it targeted and keep it relevant for your visitors and for your AdSense ads.

Make sure that the pages within your website are well linked; there is nothing more frustrating then not knowing where to go or where you came from.

Open a Google AdWords account and run ads to direct traffic to your site. Make sure that the margin between what you are spending on AdWords and what you are making on AdSense is significant enough to make this worthwhile. The great thing about traffic from your AdWords is that the visitor has shown a tendency to click on these ads already; they have pre-qualified themselves to do it on your site. You will hope that they will repeat their efforts on your site.

That is it, do whatever strategy you can to work your AdSense to the bone! Make sure you do things legitimately, don't scam your visitors or manipulate them to make a few dollars with AdSense or any related program, the internet society has grown far too sophisticated to fall for anything like that, your site will be ignored and forgotten. Therefore, be a professional, treat your website like a business, and give your customers something relevant - then as an added bonus your AdSense ads will work with you.

Surefire Google Adsense Earnings Tips

Placing Google adsense ads on your website has to be one of the easiest ways to generate income with your site. Signup is free and all you have to do is put the ads on your site.

But easy does not always mean simple.

Google makes it easy to sign up, generate an ad and put it on your site, however, it's not always so simple designing your site for interest, finding high paying keywords and placing your ads so that they attract maximum clicks.

Here are a few surefire tips that will help draw interest to your site and your ads while helping you get the clicks that will make you money.

1. Build content rich sites Content rich sites do several things for you. They keep viewers on your site because you are providing information of interest. It's also important to keep the information refreshed periodically with up-to-date and current content. This is not only useful for your viewers, the search engines like it as well.

Sites containing useful content will also help establish you as an expert in your field allowing viewers to respect your opinions and suggestions. But most importantly, good content will keep your viewers coming back to your site. They will bookmark your site more often and notify their friends a lot more. 2. Research and use higher paying keywords. Develop site pages using topics that contain high paying keywords while keeping the keywords relevant to your topic.

The Overture website has a free 'keywords bid tool' that is excellent for showing you what advertisers are paying for keywords.

For example, using this tool I can see that the keyword 'pet medication' has a maximum bid of $1.51 while the keyword 'pet name' has a maximum bid of $.11. If I were looking for informational pages to add to my pet site, the clear choice here would be to develop a page about pet medications and optimize that page for the keyword 'pet medication'. 3. Place your ads in the upper left hand quarter of your website. Studies show that people almost always scan your site from the top left working down. Placing a vertical skyscraper ad in that section can help increase your click through rate from 2% to as much as 30% or higher.

4. Don't use horizontal banners or ads. Google recommends that you use vertical as opposed to horizontal ads. Web surfers see lots of horizontal banners and ads and they almost instantaneously avoid them.

According to Google, wider ad formats such as the large rectangle and inline rectangle also tend to perform quite well. This is probably due to the fact that they are more reader friendly allowing you to read more text at a glance without having to skip a line and return to the left margin every few words.

My experience is that positioning these ads just before or just after your main content can increase your clickthrough rate substantially. 5. Avoid the Dead Zones Google research has shown that there are zones within your site that won't generate clicks. These areas are the top right of your site, the bottom right-hand corner and the very bottom. Ads in these areas are often ignored. Keep your ads to the upper left, and center or just above or below your primary content.

6. Coordinate the ad colors to match your site colors. Google adsense offers an array of colors that you can use to display your ads. Choose the two main colors of your site and use those colors for your ad. Keep the URL link of the ad in blue since this is the link color that most viewers are use to. The idea is to blend your ads with your site content so as to invite more clicks.

7. Follow the adsense program policies to the letter. Google keeps a close eye on how their ads are displayed and they will cancel you immediately if you break the rules. Google adsense is an excellent way to bring in some extra revenue so don't risk losing a good thing.

About the author: Whether you're building a home internet business or looking for internet marketing tools, Elizabeth McGee will help you build your web business and find the tools you need.

It's Oh So Easy To Apply Online

Have you ever thought of how simple and easy our life is now? Ask a question. One of the best ways to get a reader's attention is to ask a question. But like a trial lawyer questioning a witness on the stand, make sure it'll get you the response you're looking for. "What's the best way to grow your business?" is a great subject line for business owners. After all, what business owner wouldn't want to grow his or her business? Or let's say you run a health club. An e-mail with the subject line, "How can you lose 5 pounds in one month?" would certainly be compelling. It's important your question be relevant to your audience.

2. Be a tease. A clever subject line can be enticing. When it's done right, reader curiosity is piqued. They want to know more--and they'll open your e-mail. Writing a teaser-style subject line requires some creativity, and your content needs to deliver. A company that sells high-definition TVs could use the subject line, "You're not going to believe your eyes" as a teaser to introduce a new addition to their product line.

3. Tell it like it is. Often, what works best is to say exactly what you want your reader to know. Examples of this straightforward approach are, "Sale on all sweaters this weekend," "Master jazz pianist plays live this Friday" and "The seven secrets of a profitable business." This just-the-facts approach works especially well when you can appeal directly to your audience's interests. It's also the best approach to use when you send a newsletter.

4. Remember "WIIFM". When a person gets your e-mail, the first thing they consider is "what's in it for me?" They have a decision to make. Do they open your e-mail, leave it for later or delete it? If there isn't something about the subject line that lets them know why it's worth their precious time to see what's inside, then the choice will be clear. Keep WIIFM in mind when creating every aspect of your e-mails, including the offer, content, images--and most definitely the subject line. It's all about them. They know that; just make sure you know it, too.

5. Get personal. The more you can make each contact feel you're speaking directly to them, the more effective your communication will be. Whatever style of subject line you use, you can make it personal by using the word "you." Professional copywriters know the secret of using this powerful little word. Just look at the advertisements, mail and e-mail you receive. A few examples are, "Find the right swimsuit for you," "You can save 50 percent on travel," and "You'd look phenomenal in a custom-tailored suit." "You" is ideal, but "your" works too.

6. Not sure which approach is right for you? Try them all, and then show a friend or colleague to get their feedback. Pick the one you believe will be most effective for your audience. Whichever approach you choose, it's always worth spending the time and effort to write a great subject line. Because if your readers don't open your e-mail, they'll never have the chance to read the important message you've created for them inside.

Topic 2 ~ Increase Click-Through Rate (CTR) ~

How to Increased Click-Through Rate (CTR)?

Here are some guidelines:

1. Include a feature, a benefit, and an advantage in the opening. This needs to be used in a subtle way, but in the opening you're really doing a small marketing job for this issue of your email newsletter. Highlight an article or two that are important, explain what you're providing the readers that they won't get elsewhere, and tell them what the benefit will be. A great example is something like "Nokia and Sprint announced second quarter earnings today. Learn what our Wireless Week experts say about the results, and what effect you can expect them to have on the industry at large."

2. Put the email newsletter in the context of your readers' day. This goes hand in hand with the last point. Your readers are busy, and if you can make a compelling case for why they should stop what they are doing and take a few minutes now to read your email newsletter, you'll get them in. We recommend editors reference important events, upcoming trade shows, or other things that say to the reader "You will find it worthwhile to stop and read this email newsletter now, because the information in it will help you stay on top of your business."

3. Keep it fresh. Don't craft a "perfect paragraph" and use it issue after issue after issue. One of the keys to success is to keep the copy fresh and highlight items in that issue of the email newsletter. If you use the same generic language repeatedly, people will stop reading it and it'll be a waste of your time.

4. Keep it short. This is critical. We recommend no more than two to three sentences -- just enough to get them interested and pull them in to read the rest of your email newsletter.

Try it out and see the results! This is just one of the simple things you can do to engage your reader and optimize your CTR.

Topic 3 ~ Killer Email Sales Letter ~

How to Write Killer Email Sales Letter That Get Results?

Here are what we've found works best. Use these tips properly and your results will skyrocket.

1. Your email "from" sender line should be your brand name or company name and stay consistent. Use your own personal name only if that is your brand image.

2. Send emails only when you have something to say that will benefit the reader. No fluff. No filler. You must be relevant. If you can't be, don't send an email until you have something beneficial to say.

3. Start your emails with the specific benefit the reader can get from your message. You have no more than 3 seconds to pass the crucial "what's in it for me?" test.

4. The copywriting tone and language should be personal and conversational, instead of stuffy and "corporate".

5. Make a specific offer to the reader and, if possible, include a short deadline by which he must respond to get it.

6. Use as much copy as is needed to fully pile on all the benefits the reader will get by ordering, answer objections, create urgency, and close the sale.

7. Test your subject lines and offers on small segments of your list before you send the email to your entire list.

8. Include "Email this to a friend" service in all your communications for pass along and viral marketing.

Topic 4 ~ Good Call-to-Action ~

Get More Clicks With a Good Call-to-Action!

The call-to-action is a determining factor of your click-through rate. It is an important component of your email copy because it answers three important questions for the recipient. They are:

1. What you want them to do

2. Why they should do it, and

3. How to take that next step.

Whatever action you want your recipients to take, you can make it happen more often with a good call-to-action. First, decide what you want them to do:

1. Buy something

2. Sign up for a service

3. Fill out a form

4. Read an article or get more information

5. Visit your website or store

6. Make an appointment

Etc…

Then, make sure you incorporate these 6 characteristics to get the results you're looking for. Make your call-to action:

1. Visible - People read, react, make decisions and take action differently. Some make decisions right away ("You had me at hello.") and some need more details ("I'm from Missouri."). Place call-to-action links in the beginning, middle and end of the email so that recipients can click whenever they are ready.

2. Clear - Stick to simple words, short phrases, bulleted benefits and paragraphs of 1-3 short sentences. Include appropriate graphics and cut the clutter by making effective use of white space.

3. Compelling - Use action-oriented verbs and phrases: "buy now," "call today," "save" and so on.

4. Rewarding - Offer an incentive or reward for action. For example, "Act now and also receives...," or "the First 100 respondents will be entered into a raffle to win..." The giveaway, or prize, you choose should be closely related to your product or service. That way, you will be targeting customers who are interested in what you have to offer, not just the latest gadget.

5. Urgent - The longer an email sits in an inbox, the less likely it is to be acted on. Create a sense of urgency to get a more immediate response. Try limiting the offer to a specific time period, to the "first 50 customers," "while supplies last," etc.

6. Direct - Your call-to-action links should go to the appropriate page on your website with more details on the specific product or service you're promoting. If you don't have a website, the call-to-action might be store locations to visit or a number to call for an appointment.

Keep in mind that, in addition to repeating your call-to-action, you can vary your call-to-action to appeal to different types of buyers (and to fit your sales cycle). For example: "Click here to buy now" will naturally work better with loyal customers. The softer, "Click here to learn more" may be better for newer prospects.

Topic 5 ~ Avoid Common Pitfalls ~

Read Your Email Message Backwards to Avoid Common Pitfalls

Here are some common problems to look out for:

1. Misspelled words - It's a good idea to spell-check a document, but it's not enough. A spell checker won't catch every error.

2. Wrong word used - This is why a spell checker isn't enough. A spell checker will only flag words it doesn't recognize. It can't tell if a legitimate word is used incorrectly. Some words commonly confused: accept, except; your, you're; then, than; there, their, they're; cite, site, sight; lay, lie; loose, loosen, lose. Also, look out for a missing "r" in the word "your." It's easy to overlook a sentence such as "Visit our Web site now to receive you free copy."

3. Grammar error - Again, if you know you're not a good writer, have someone else check your writing for grammatical errors. Mistakes make you look bad.

4. Punctuation error - This is another area where you'll benefit from a review by someone who knows their stuff. If you're determined to do it yourself, purchase a good grammar or style book. One of the most common punctuation problems: Too many stupid commas!

5. Vague or confusing statement - Make sure every sentence is crystal-clear. You don't want your promotional message to raise more questions than it answers.

6. Illogical statement - Read over what you have written slowly. At the end of each paragraph, ask yourself: "Did that make sense?" Rewrite so that it does.

Topic 6 ~ Frequency of Sending Emails ~

How Often (Frequency) Should You Send Email?

There's no quick answer to the frequency question. It depends on the goals for your email and the type of content you send. Some rough guidelines:

1. Mail at least once a month. Mail less often than this, and you risk being forgotten by recipients. Monthly is the bare minimum if you want to keep your brand or company name top of mind (a common email goal).

2. Let content be your guide. Look at what you provide readers and you'll get a feel for proper frequency. Analyze how often the information changes and how quickly readers must receive it to act on it.

3. Work within your resources. A daily email requires many more resources than a monthly. Better a well-done monthly email than shoddy weekly or daily. It's recommended to start with a monthly. Once that's going smoothly, they can think about moving to weekly. You need to walk before you can run!

4. Watch for trends. Declining response, open, and click-through rates can be signs of list fatigue. Though some decrease is normal, watch carefully and cut back frequency if you see a problem. Don't assume if the unsubscribe rate is stable you're OK. Many people prefer to forward email directly to their delete folder rather than unsubscribe.

Topic 7 ~ Understanding Spam Filters ~

Understanding Spam Filters to Avoid Your Emails Get Junked!

If you send email campaigns long enough, you will inevitably run into spam filter issues. On average, you can expect 10-20% of your emails to just get lost in cyberspace, mostly due to overzealous spam filters. Unfortunately, there is no quick fix. If you want to avoid getting your emails junked by spam filters, you have to understand how they work.

Generally speaking, spam filters look at a long list of criteria to judge whether or not your email is junk. For example, they might look for spammy phrases like "CLICK HERE!" or "FREE! BUY NOW!". They'll assign points each time they see one of those phrases. Certain criteria get more points than others. Here's a sample of criteria from Spam Assassin, one of the most popular spam filters out there:

• Talks about lots of money (.193 points)

• Describes some sort of breakthrough (.232 points)

• Looks like mortgage pitch (.297 points)

• Contains urgent matter (.288 points)

• Money back guarantee (2.051 points)

• Why Pay More? (1.249 points)

It's easy to use "spammy" keywords in your email without even knowing it. Here are some common ways marketers unwittingly trigger spam filters with their campaigns:

1. Using spammy phrases, like "Click here!" or "Once in a lifetime opportunity!" too many times in your email. Sometimes, you can't avoid phrases like "FREE SHIPPING!" but use them sparingly, and don't do anything else risky.

2. Going crazy with exclamation points!!!!!!

3. USING ALL CAPS, WHICH IS LIKE YELLING IN EMAIL

4. Coloring their fonts bright red, or green

5. Coding sloppy HTML (such as by converting a Microsoft Word file to HTML)

6. Creating an HTML email that's nothing but one big image, with no text (since spam filters can't read images, they assume you're a spammer that's trying to trick 'em)

7. Using the word "Test" in the subject line (agencies run into this all the time, when sending drafts to clients for approval)

Topic 8 ~ Why Email Marketing Does not Work? ~

If Your Email Marketing Does not Work, Think Again Why?

Before you arrive at the faulty conclusion that email marketing doesn't work, let’s look at this from a different perspective for a moment that would make your emails ineffective.

First there's what you are writing in the body of the email. If this is your first attempt to get in touch with a prospect, what are you putting in the email? A dissertation? If it's longer than one or two paragraphs, it's too long. Look at your emails like an initial cold call. You need to laser in and deliver a compelling opening statement that's going to grab their interest and stimulate a conversation. Because there's no one to cut you off in an email or stop you from persistent pontification, people have tendency to ramble on and on in an email, giving the prospect the life story of the product or service they want them to consider. Keep it short and focus on the one or two benefits, opening up the opportunity to have a dialogue. That's it.

Second, are you sending attachments in the first email? No attachments! It's hard enough sending an unsolicited email to a prospect. Now you're adding more barriers and increasing the chances of your email winding up in their spam box or junk email folder. Some people have filters on their email that if an attachment is sent it automatically gets deleted. No attachment until that information in the attachment is solicited by the person.

Third, html or text? Once again, with all the email filters people use today, you will increase your odds by sending a text message only rather than trying to get fancy with formatting, graphics and pictures. The prospect really doesn't care about how beautiful your email looks; they care about the core message. Besides, they will never even get a chance to see your beautiful masterpiece in an html email if it's winding up in the trash.

Finally, you are using way too many spam words. As mentioned, the biggest enemy to email marketing or selling via email is the additional security that companies and individuals have on their network or computer. As such, the specific words you are using in the body of the email can be the culprit who is sending your email directly into the trash or spam box. In other words, you are using words that are often identified is spam and in turn, you email is getting flagged and deleted. Not even eye contact! The prospect is not getting a chance to, at the very least, see your email let alone read it and have a chance to respond accordingly.

Ending ~ Please Forward ~

Feel Free To Forward This E-Book To Your Friends!

Thank you for reading this e-book on “How to Make Email Marketing Works for Your Business”. Don't be intimidated! I've made it easy...

The biggest question I get from people who are interested
in becoming their own boss is, "Where do I get started?
My simple answer - "You get started by finding a problem or
question that a group of people have. Then you create the
solution to the problem or answer there question.

I've broken it down to teach you exactly what you need to
know to get started. If you're curious about the world of
Internet Marketing, follow this simple guide and you'll be
ready to start learning real ways that the pros are making
money online!

First, let me answer the basic question, "What is Internet
Marketing?" I find this term amusing, because Internet
Marketing is no different than Marketing through any other
medium, be it magazines, television, newspapers, even
billboards. Marketing is simply a way to get our message
to the mass public - Internet Marketing is the medium in
which we use

Internet Marketing uses the same strategies that are used
for magazines, television, etc. Internet Marketers simply
adapt traditional strategies to the internet. The internet
also provides many marketing advantages over traditional
marketing, such as low startup costs, easy and effective
tracking, and more efficient ways to reach your target
market.

Another common question I get is, "Does it really work?"
I'll be straight and honest with you. Starting your own
business takes time, it takes money, and it takes work.
Creating a long lasting, profitable business does not
happen overnight. Avoid the get rich quick schemes -
they don't work!

Think about your online business as a real business,
because that is what it is. What you get out of your
business is directly related to what you put into it. Most
importantly, if you do your homework and set up the proper
foundation, your business will grow into something you
never thought possible!

Now that you know the basics, its time to answer the
biggest question, Where do I get started? There are
countless strategies being used right now, all depending on
your level of comfort and experience with Internet
Marketing. Again, don't be intimidated I have broken
everything down for you step-by-step.

Fist things first the marketing platform that I have found
to work the best on the internet is called "Direct Response
Marketing.

===================================
What Is Direct Response Marketing?

===================================

Basically, Direct Response Marketers find consumers in a
certain market who are looking for information and provide
it to them. The benefit of Direct Response Marketing is
that the consumers are already qualified, that is, they are
already actively searching for information on a specific
subject. There are countless tools and resources available
to help you on your way, so let's look at how to get started!

Five Easy Steps to Direct Response Marketing Success:

1. Find a niche. In the beginning, pick a market that you
are interested in. Check out Google Groups, Yahoo Groups,
forums, and blogs to see other people who are looking into
that market. A great tool for checking multiple blogs is
TehniRoti.com.

2. Research the market. Now that you have a market, you
want to find specific out information, like how many people
are searching in that market, and how often? A great tool
to check market size is Inventory.Overture.com.

3. Find the problem. Once you've determined which market
niche you want to begin marketing in, you need to find a
common problem. Start reading through the blogs and forums
to find common problems, needs, and desires.

4. Give them what they want! You have a market, a niche,
and you've uncovered some common questions and needs. Now
you need to create a product that will answer these
questions.

There are several things you can do to create a product -
write a book, do an interview, or create some videos, just
to name a few. You basically want to create a vehicle that
will quickly deliver this information to your target market.

Writing a book may seem like a daunting task, but there
are alternatives. You can hire a ghostwriter to write a
book based on your research, and market this as your own
product. Also, if you don't feel you have enough knowledge
to perform an interview, find someone who does.

Use these five simple steps to get a start on the very
profitable Direct Response Marketing Strategy.

Earn money at home via the Internet

Search the Internet for work-at-home opportunities and the results are pages deep. How much you can make depends on your skill and experience. But where possible, I've listed average pay rates.

Freelancing

If you have special talents, consider freelance work. Freelancing isn't just for writers. You'll find job listings and advice.

Watch out for scams

You'll find plenty of scam artists when you look for work-at-home opportunities.

Be wary of companies that promise extraordinary sums of money for little work or opportunities that require a substantial investment. In most cases, there shouldn't be up-front fees for getting started. With direct sales, you may need to buy products. Don't pay more than $500. And make sure the company will take back unsold stock.

Before you get involved with a company, do an online search. Type the company name, along with "scam" into a search engine. You'll see if others have had bad experiences with a company. Also, check with the Better Business Bureau (www.bbb.org) for complaints.

Bloggers Bring in the Big Bucks

How a personal obsession can turn into a popular favorite and maybe even a full-time job

by John Tozzi

Eric Nakagawa, a software developer in Hawaii, posted a single photo of a fat, smiling cat he found on the Internet, with the caption, "I can has cheezburger?" in January, 2007, at a Web site he created. It was supposed to be a joke. Soon after he posted a few more images in the same vein: cute cats with funny captions written in a silly, invented hybrid of Internet shorthand and baby-talk. Then he turned the site into a blog, so that visitors could comment on the postings. What happened after that would have been hard for anyone to predict.

"We just thought, O.K., they're funny,"Nakagawa says. "Suddenly we started getting hits. I was like, where are these coming from?"
An Accidental Entrepreneur

He saw traffic on the blog, I Can Has Cheezburger, which he runs with his partner, "Tofuburger" (she refuses to disclose her real name) double each month: 375,000 hits in March, 750,000 in April, 1.5 million in May. Cheezburger now gets 500,000 page views a day from between 100,000 and 200,000 unique visitors, according to Nakagawa. The cheapest ad costs $500 for a week. The most expensive goes for nearly $4,000. Nakagawa, an accidental entrepreneur who saw his successful business materialize out of the ether, quit his programming job at the end of May: "It made more sense to do this and see how big it could get."

Cheezburger's story is unusual in the upper reaches of the blogosphere in that the time between launching and reaching a critical mass of readers who sustain the site is so compressed. But many of the most popular bloggers have similar tales of starting out with a niche idea—an inside joke, a particular obsession—and watching it explode. Of course, most blogs linger in obscurity and are read by only a handful of people, and few ever reach the level Cheezburger has. What about a blog like Cheezburger lets it break away from the pack?

The initial appeal of the blog may have been a fluke, but its growth since then has been part of a tightly controlled experiment to help answer that question. Nakagawa and his partner constantly tweak the site to see what draws readers and what leaves them cold.

"We basically have a playground where people keep coming to play, so we're trying to create new games all the time,"Nakagawa says.
Building a Community

To drive traffic, they try to time their new posts with when people are most likely to be reading: in the mornings, on their lunch breaks, or in the evenings. Early on, when Nakagawa saw the site getting 1,000 page views a day, he added a widget that allows visitors to rate each post on a scale of one to five cheeseburgers. That helped boost traffic to 2,000.

Readers don't just rate or comment on the posts. They create them. Cheezburger depends on its fans to submit pictures, write funny captions, and send them in. Nakagawa has built a tool to let readers select a ready-made photo or upload their own, add and position captions, choose font styles, and submit a finished product. Any visitor can vote on the submissions, and the most popular ones make it to the main page. The function saves Nakagawa from having to find funny captions for photos, and it creates a lasting bond with readers.

That kind of interaction helps make I Can Has Cheezburger as much a community as a blog. A post by one user will inspire another to play off the theme, forming a narrative. "It's like you're creating a story supplied by people in the community, and then the people in the community supply the next part of the story,"Nakagawa says.
From Inside Joke to Job

The idea of building a community around content supplied by users sustains several top blogs, and most put the idea of community ahead of making money. For Heather Cocks and Jessica Morgan, who lampoon celebrity fashion on their blog, Go Fug Yourself, the fact that ad sales on their blog now pay their salaries has not changed what they set out to do from Day One: have fun. "It was one of these inside jokes that we thought was going to just stay an inside joke,"says Cocks.

Part of it has to do with the nature of the medium: Blogging creates a direct connection between authors and readers, a conversation with distinct voices carried out in comments and e-mails and other blogs. Nakagawa wants to see how big that conversation—not to mention his business—can get. "It's kind of like, how far can you take it?" he says.

To see a slide show on how top bloggers earn money, click here.

<media:rating>nonadult</media:rating>
