To work for an established privately owned steel distribution company, located in Sheffield 12. Will carry out any warehouse/loading duties to the highest standards, whilst maintaining productivity output and complying with all key health and safety and quality requirements. Will have a range of responsibilities including:
Operating duties – Loading/unloading vehicles, ensuring all loads are safe and stock is located in line with the correct load plans; Ensuring that stock damage and loss is kept to a minimum.
Operating Mechanical Handling Equipment (MHE) – Reporting any faults of MHE and company vehicles/assets via the company defect reporting procedures; Using MHE equipment to achieve all operating requirements.
Provide information – Accurately record/sign off load manifests; Raise any issues on the non conformance sheets; Follow the company defect reporting procedure.
Quality management systems – Presenting all completed paperwork to the LSS/Transport Department for double checking to achieve 100% compliance; Reviewing working instructions in accordance with working procedures.
Health and safety – Report all instances of health and safety to a supervisor/manager; Full compliance with all health and safety legal requirements.
In the much longer term possibility of moving into supervision, driving and distribution.

Requirements: Due to the health and safety requirements should be 18 (or almost 18). Should be very reliable, willing to work hard and keen to learn. Should have confidence and be able to work as part of a team. Must be able to take decisions and want to grow with the business. Must be prepared to take health and safety very seriously and adhere fully to health and safety requirements.

Training: Warehouse Intermediate Level Apprenticeship. The learning provider is ESG. In addition will receive excellent in house training on fork lift truck driving, health and safety, mechanical handling equipment training.

Hours: Day and afternoon shifts. Hours to be confirmed.

Pay: £2.60/hour to start.

Barbering Apprentice

Required to work in a men’s hairdressers in Sheffield 11. Will initially be responsible for maintaining the salon, performing general housekeeping duties, greeting customers and shampooing hair. Will eventually be responsible for cutting hair.

Requirements: Applicants must possess good people skills as there will be a high level of customer contact. Must also be able to show initiative, be polite and have a friendly manner. Personal presentation is important due to the nature of the job. Experience within a salon is helpful, but is not essential. Must be really keen to learn and to pursue a career within men’s hairdressing.

Training: Intermediate Level Apprenticeship in Barbering. The learning provider is ESG.

Hours: To be confirmed, maximum of 40 hours/week

Accounts Administration Apprentice

Duties:-

The job role entails looking online content for a number of high profile partner brands and internal sites and acting as a day-to-day contact for key partners. Duties will include: Writing and sourcing relevant and creative website content; Producing and Drawing promotions and liaising with prize providers and media contacts; Managing customer queries; Basic website monitoring, testing and reporting, and budget logging; Good telephone manner, organization, attention to detail and written skills are essential to this role; Answering telephone calls; Logging invoices; Contacting and liaising with PR companies; Uploading horoscopes to the horoscope site Fastrology; Email – marketing executives. The employer is looking for an individual who wants to work less client side and more getting to grips with the ‘behind the scenes’ work in getting marketing campaigns out. There is some client interaction. The job will also involve running counts on the data, setting up and testing email campaigns, extracting data, sending email campaigns and reporting on results of email campaigns. The job will involve prioritising work and achieving deadlines within a fast moving business.

Requirements: Basic Maths, English and IT skills. Must have excellent communication skills and basic IT knowledge. Good telephone manner, the ability to pay attention to detail and written skills are essential to this role. This is not a ‘technical role’ but the individual needs to be confident with computer, data and extremely accurate and organised. Should be hard working, honest and dedicated to wanting to achieve your true potential. It is crucial that candidates are self motivated, driven and keen to succeed.

Fancy being a Bigga Fish…?

Are you interested in music? Do you enjoy talking to people, organising things and having fun? If your answer is YES would you like the chance to help run a real life music event?

If so, you need look no further… a paid position has come available for a young adult (aged 18-25) to lead a new music related event management project called Bigga Fish. The post holder called a ‘Captain’ will be responsible for running a locally based ‘Fish Club’ and for recruiting Regional Street Teams (for Sheffield) they will need to recruit a minimum of 15 young people aged between 14-19 to the Regional Street Team and to form part of Fish Club.

So, who are these guys?

Bigga Fish are a not-for-profit organisation based in London who are bringing their unique young people’s involvement programme to the regions and Sheffield is on their ‘must involve’ city list! Sheffield Futures are supporting Bigga Fish in looking for a lucky young person to lead a special young people’s group right here in Sheffield.

-To conduct themselves professionally and be discrete when handling sensitive data.
