Fibre Optic Inclinometer Trials

Using fibre optics installed on an inclinometer tube, we are researching the data over a period of time

We are currently running a research project on the use of fibre optics for measuring inclination and have installed two chains of sensors spaced at 1.5m centres on a 30m inclinometer tube within a significant wall construction in London. The installation took 1 day and readings have been stable and very meaningful so far. The details of the research will be published in the summer of next year.
