I upgraded K2 to version 2.5.5, which solved my problem.

But now there's way more serious problem: i cannot save an article... if i try to modify an existing article or when i create a new article, pressing "Save" brings a white screen (some PHP error i guess)... it'a a shame because the fix in the items view starts from this version... (2.5.4 doesn't have it)

Can anyone help me?

I have K2 installed on Joomla 2.5.11 and have my ReCaptcha keys set under both the advanced tab in K2 admin and the ReCaptcha system plugin. ReCaptcha is displaying on non-K2 content like Contact forms, but all that is appearing on following the comment form is "Enter the two words you see below" followed by the Submit Comment button.

A 500 notice is often caused by SEO options. Check those first, plus any extensions that you have. This also includes Akeeba Admin Tools. Try changing the name of your .htaccess file (if you are using one) to htaccess.txt and seeing if that helps.

With regards to clicking and nothing happens. This happened to me in the past. This was an issue with JCE. Turn off JCE, go into the article, delete EVERYTHING in there (or copy and paste it into a text file). The issue is caused by some Microsoft Word code. As soon as you delete it you're ok. I found it was easier to create a new article and then paste the copy in again using the "paste as plain text" option that JCE offers.

Hi there,

I have two categories. I would like the frontpage to have two seperate featured categories so that when category gets a new featured article it appears in just that section. This way the other featured article would stay there.

Would I use two seperate modules or something and just leave out the main article.

You will have to create a module override (mod_k2_user) and edit the login.php file. There you can remove the link for creating a new account.

Yes,

Do not delete the entire hidden menu just the menu items towards all categories (the ones described in the K2 blog post).
I don't see why you can't map each category to a specific menu item (you can even assign some items to your hidden menu).

I think if you follow these steps your problem will be solved.

Ok that very easy to accomplish if you are familiar with overriding.

First select to hide the Item Attachments settings in your RSS Feeds. (K2 parameters).

Then open item.php and locate the attachments block (look for the Item attachments HTML Comment).

You can always make a menu item to the login page (like /login) and have a link in your code like:

K2 does not offer this functionality. You can use SocialConnect if you need a faster & easier registration but you cannot use front-end editing without having to register.

You can put each category as a sublevel of one of the top links, for example

-Project Blogs
-- Motorcycles (K2 Category type)
--- Kawasaki KZ 750 (K2 Category type)

OR if you do not want them to show on your main menu, create a new menu and begin with

- Motorcycles (K2 Category type)
-- Kawasaki KZ 750 (K2 Category type)

Then go to the module and select these new menu items also.

PS. If you go with the second option, you will lose the menu active when browsing these pages because these links won't be children of Project Blogs menu item.

I see that the CSS is coming through outboard.org/components/com_k2/css/k2.css
in lines 43 and 44.

You can copy the k2.css file inside your template css folder and edit it through there.
Also try cleaning your site cache through Site -> Maintenance -> Clear Cache.

1) One thought is to hide the title via CSS div.itemVideoBlock h3 {display:none;}.

2) You will have to create an override of the template (Read here how you can achieve that getk2.org/documentation/tutorials/174-te...pts-of-sub-templates) and then edit item.php file. Then locate the video block of code and move it wherever you like.

J'aimerais afficher en page d'accueil mes articles publiés avec une intégration (de K2) via menu, où j'aurais des articles avec miniatures...

Quand j'intègre avec un menu, j'ai que le premier article et ensuite les liens correspondants aux articles suivants (selon config via admin)...

Serait-ce possible d'avoir une présentation similaire en recourant à un menu (K2) comme on aurait cela en utilisant un module ?

Je travaille sur un site basé sur Gantry. Le soucis est qu'il m'est impossible d'ajouter une position avant le contenu central.
Le framework dispose de toutes les positions nécessaires à la construction d'un site flexible mais si l'on veut mettre 2-4...positions avant le contenu central, ce n'est pas possible.

Je voudrais insérer des positions (comme pour content-top...le A et le entre content-top et fullwith :

go into K2 Parameters, and on the images tab, set one of the image sizes to the size you want (probably small or med on your case), then save and close that,

then for just that article: go into the edit item page, and on the right side under "Item view options" go to "Image size" and chose the one you just did above

or if you want all articles within a category to be that size: go into edit category, then on the right side under "Item view options" go to "Image size" and chose the one you you just did above

note your theme may override these settings (like responsive templates sometimes ignore the settings and base the size on screen res.) if your settings are being ignored, test it by changing to one of the built-in templates (like a beez's) to see if it works there

You can find in the code below.

Plus don't forget to copy/ paste the entire Extrafield section from an itemlist view into the user view file(of course).

Steve the second link you posted is a category link not an item link (hence the /itemlist/category in the URL).

To achieve this you simply replace the title and image link href attributes with the one of the category.
(<?php echo $item->categoryLink; ?>).

As far as the modules on the right, this is a template specific issue, I am sure the template developer will be able to provide you with the info you need.

Got same crazy deal on J2.5.11 (updated from 1.7.3):
No K2 menu-points shown in Joomla 2.5 administrator menu "Components"

Anyway everything looked fine in the database...

Not sure what did fix it:
I went to the Extensions Manager -> Manage
Filtred by "K2"
Unpublished the K2 (component) -> check-marked the unpublished component
Clicked "Refresh cache" -> Published the K2 component again
and I got my K2 menuitems in the admin components menu

Which of the above steps did it I do not know...
Hope it might work for others

I am afraid this goes beyond K2.

K2 and com_content use the system's WYSIWYG editor. If your editor extension is not well written and secure then your site is not secure as well.

As a solution always keep your editor up to date.

As a personal note I prefer Admin Tools as an extension to keep my sites secure but once more, you have to keep your editor updated at all times. (trust me on this one)
