Barn Dance!

Grove Hill Evangelical Church is hosting a Barn Dance on the 2nd June as part of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations. (Click on the poster to enlarge the image.)

We will be serving a finger buffet while the live band gets your feet a-tapping with some great music.

We haven’t hosted a barn dance for years so we are all looking forward to this one.

We would love to see you there!

Who is it for?	Everybody!
When is it?	Saturday 2nd June, 7.30pm to 10.00pm
Does it cost anything?	Children are £2.50, Adults are £5

Biblical Manhood and Womanhood

On the 6th of May we are starting a new evening series looking at what the Bible has to say about men, woman and relationships.

Are the characteristics of men and women basically the same and should their roles in the family, society and the church be interchangeable?
Should we now be approving of those who wish to have intimate same sex relationships?
Is being married in some way superior to being single?

Issues to do with our sexuality and our relationships as men and women have been hot topics in the media and in the wider church for many years.

This new Sunday evening series is aimed to help us understand something of what the Bible has to say in this area, and to guide us in our practice as individuals and as a fellowship.

Sunday 6th May – An introduction to the Complementarian approach.
Sunday 13th May – Marriage and singleness.
Sunday 27th May – A Christian approach to homosexuality.
Sunday 10th June – Women in Church Ministry.

Football at Grove Hill

Every other Saturday during the school terms we organise a friendly game of football. (You can click here for more details or if you would like to join in.)

Last June we put together a team to represent Grove Hill against another local church – Woodford Evangelical Church.

It was a Woodford derby unlike anything you have seen before! Some pictures from the match are below. If you would like to join in a game with us sometime email us at info@ghec.co.uk and let us know. We would love for you to join us.

Easter Celebrations

Our Easter timetable was as follows:

On 6th April we had our Good Friday service from 10.30 to 11.15. This was followed by our annual Easter Egg hunt from 3pm to 5pm.

On Sunday 8th April at 11.00 to 12.00 we had our Easter Sunday family service and were pleased to welcome many guests.

Also on Easter Sunday at 6.30pm Grove Hill we hosted an Easter celebration with other churches in the local area. Ian Rees from Salway Evangelical Church preached.
