The Advantages of our Exclusive Collaborative Design Process (CDP)

The inflatables we design are customized for our clients, so we think it’s important that they have a really big say in the outcome they expect. That is why, at Giant Inflatables, we have created a specialized process we have termed as our Collaborative Design Process and one of the most important reasons why we have such incredibly happy clients.

Through this process, we are able to deliver not only precisely what our clients order, but along with careful questioning, and collaborative conversation, bring an inflatable creation from the realms of ideas and inspirations into reality – we call that “Imagineering”.

Once the team has received a brief from the client, our Genius Team of Inflatable Designers spends some time in creating Concept Drawings, which essentially are an interpretation of the client’s brief. These Concept Drawings are designed to ensure that you understand what we are thinking and include 3D renders, sizing, colour and branding details and other important information to create a visual representation of a custom inflatable product that caters to the client’s specific needs.

The Concept Drawings provide a platform for client feedback. As the designers, our role in the CDP is to connect to the client’s ideas and needs, gather their resources understand their constraints and then communicate how we interpret their requirement through the Concept Drawings. Once we have received feedback on our initial proposal, we then collaborate further on inflatable structure design, offering our many years of experience and expertise to ensure that the client is getting a product that meets all standards of safety and quality.

The only thing our client needs to do is to simply ensure that any specifications or concerns are voiced clearly. Upon receiving initial product Concept Drawings, we ask our client to provide as much detailed feedback as possible. The more feedback provided and the more questions asked, the better, as this will result in a more thorough design. We then go back, taking all our client’s feedback on board, to refine the initial Concept Drawings. We talk and discuss and refine until we have a final drawing which has been approved by our client.

Through this CDP, we are able to meet our clients’ every need, and exceed their expectations. This process is beneficial for both the client and our team of designers as it ensures open and detailed communication from both sides.

This process allows our clients to feel very comfortable in being an active part of the design process.

Our method has been refined over many years, with the purpose of building trust, and filtering through crucial information to allow us to create what our client wants. Cleaning up the soda blasting industry one inflatable at a time

Soda and sandblasting, being one of Australian largest industrial service and maintenance industries, has come under recent scrutiny for its negative environmental impacts and inability to be conducted in a clean and contained manner. A large portion of business being conducted by the sand and soda blasting industry is onsite work in open areas, with little ability to contain their polluting media. Given the environmental impact, local councils have recently begun enforcing rules and regulations regarding soda and sand blasting in their areas.

The four main concerns raised by councils in regards to blasting is Air quality, Noise, Water quality and waste management. In the past, most blasting businesses conducted their work in the open with little to no containment, resulting in air quality around the blasting area being greatly degraded by the emissions of particle matter from the blasting. Noise from soda blasting machines and local water contamination are both issues that have been raised by many concerned residence around blasting areas.

Faced with these issues the sand blasting industry, up till now, has been using temporary shelters in an effort to create enclosed and manageable work spaces. Conventional blasting shelters consist of a metal frame and fabric skin, to create an enclosed area that can contain the blasting process within..

When you do a job well, invariably word-of-mouth leads to more jobs. When you do it excellently, you can get 3 new jobs like we did on this KIIS job for Australian Radio Network (“ARN”).

When ARN was looking for some custom illuminated inflatable logo KIIS lips with programmable internal illumination, they had no hesitation in contacting Giant Inflatables to do the job. The best referral is a job well done and that is what we deliver time and time again.

After we produced 2 highly visible inflatable shelters, we were asked to make an inflatable logo that had internal programmable lighting.

It was a fun, but challenging ask. How to put programmable illumination inside an inflatable, controlled from the outside without disturbing the inflation or deflation.

Well once again our Genius Design Team put it together with our engineering wizards to create the custom illuminated inflatable logo KIIS lips.

When we created our first Giant Inflatable Branded Jersey for the Corporate Sponsor of a sports team we created the shape and design which would accommodate our inflatable technology.

Our first attempt was the Cycling Australia Jersey with a replaceable Velcro patch with the name of the event as a removable banner.

It worked perfectly adequately in that it was a Giant Inflatable and therefore highly visible with clear branding and notification of the event name. But it was not as precise as other replicas we had created in a smaller version.

Our next request to create a Giant Inflatable Jersey was by the Sponsoring Insurance Company NIB who set up an entire playground with fantastic branding. Standing out from the crowd was the enormous, highly visible and highly branded NSW Blues Jersey.

Over time our technology improved, our R&D successfully developed new and better inflatable technologies capable of more specific, varied and versatile sizes and shapes. Our modelling programs became more sophisticated allowing 3D Design modelling and colour printers ensured closer genuine colour matching.

When NIB was looking for another inflatable shirt, we were ready with our new, more realistic, human looking jersey for the Newcastle Knights.

Needless to say, our client was not the only one super happy with the outcome.

NRL 2016 Finals – who's in the running?

It is that time of year again – Finals. Who is going to win? Here are some thoughts and why we choose Melbourne Storm.

The Penrith Panthers have an incredibly intuitive and talented pool of young players. If they can stay in the game, keep up their unstoppable attack and keep building their defense, they have a solid chance at being a side to watch.

Sitting at number 5 on the Finals Ladder, the Brisbane Broncos are an experienced and talented team with depth of experience in Origin and Test players. Provided all players are firing on all cylinders, this outside chance could be a threat. Come on Ben Hunt – show us what you can do!

Last year’s Premiers, the North Queensland Cowboys, could very easily be one of the grand finalist teams this year. Will they win? Provided they can overcome suspicion and break the Premier’s curse of no back-to-back premier winners, they have the same team and last year with experience and confidence. They are looking to be the most popular bets at the bookies.

The Cronulla Sharks need to restart their momentum which seemed to peter out at the end of July. Even though they have depth of experience and exuberance of youth, they seem to have lost their way and are now swimming upstream. However, they haven’t been written off yet by the Bookies.

With their finals debut on Saturday, this team with a 10 match winning streak behind them, needs to improve their defence and stay in the game to be a real contender. The odds seem to be stacked against them but let’s not write the Canberra Raiders off just yet.
